Trevor Lawrence Injury News & Updates
Keep up with the latest injuries from the Jaguars vs Cardinals game on Sunday with our National Football League injury report.Nov 16, 2025
Scores two total TDs in win
Lawrence completed 14 of 22 passes for 153 yards with a touchdown and an interception while rushing five times for nine yards and another score in the Jaguars' 35-6 win over the Chargers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence put together another lackluster stat line, but he leveraged the strong work of his ground game and defense for an easy win. Both of the fourth-year signal-caller's touchdowns came from one yard out, recording a short scoring run with just under eight minutes remaining in the third quarter and had a short scoring toss to Tim Patrick early in the final period. Lawrence has now been under 200 passing yards in consecutive games and on four occasions overall this season, and he'll next face off with the inconsistent Cardinals defense in a Week 12 road matchup.

Just one TD in Sunday's loss
Lawrence completed 13 of 23 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown with one interception in Sunday's 36-29 loss to the Texans. He added 35 rushing yards on five carries,
ANALYSIS
The fifth-year quarterback had a tough day against a fierce Houston defense, getting sacked five times and committing two fumbles, losing one of them. Lawrence has thrown for multiple TDs only twice in nine games to begin the season, and on the year he has a rough 10:7 TD:INT. He faces another stingy opponent in Week 11 against the Chargers, a matchup that could be even tougher if Brian Thomas (ankle) remains sidelined.
Nov 2, 2025
Scores two rushing TDs in OT win
Lawrence completed 23 of 34 pass attempts for 220 yards and one interception while taking nine carries for 24 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Sunday's 30-29 overtime win over Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence overcame an illness in order to suit up and lead his team to a thrilling victory in extra time Sunday. The 2021 first-overall pick failed to throw a touchdown pass for the second time this season. Unlike his performance against Houston in Week 3, Lawrence was able to reward managers with his second multi-score game on the ground this season. The Clemson product has seen his production from the pocket take a hit in 2025, as he is currently sporting a completion percentage worse than the 60 percent mark from his rookie year. While the unexpected rushing production was well received, Lawrence simply isn't doing enough as a passer (nine touchdowns to six picks) to warrant a consistent starting spot in standard formats. The 5-3 Jaguars will face a stiff test against the Texans' stingy defense next Sunday.

Feels ill, but will play
Jacksonville announced that Lawrence is dealing with an illness, but his status for Sunday's game against the Raiders is unaffected, and he remains on track to start, J.P. Shadrick of the Jaguars' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
While fantasy managers who are planning on using Lawrence in Week 9 lineups can probably still feel comfortable doing so, the fact that he's under the weather could result him playing at something less than 100 percent health coming out of the Jaguars' Week 8 bye. In addition to battling the illness, Lawrence will have to make do without one of his top pass catchers in rookie wideout/cornerback Travis Hunter (knee), who was surprisingly moved to injured reserve Friday and will now miss at least four games.
Oct 19, 2025
Big volume in Sunday's rout
Lawrence completed 23 of 48 passes for 296 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 35-7 loss to the Rams. He added 18 rushing yards on two carries.
ANALYSIS
The Jaguars were staring at a 21-0 deficit at halftime, so Lawrence was forced to put the ball in the air most of the second half. The volume led to a season high in passing yards for the fifth-year QB, as well as Travis Hunter's first career TD reception, but it also led to Lawrence being sacked seven times. He'll take a mediocre 9:5 TD:INT through seven games into Jacksonville's Week 8 bye.
Oct 12, 2025
Tormented by pressure in loss
Lawrence completed 27 of 42 passes for 258 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while adding three rushes for nine yards in the Jaguars' 20-12 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence's final passing line with more than adequate, but he also took seven sacks and finished with an ugly 46.6 QBR for the afternoon. The 2021 first overall pick did continue to cultivate his connection with No. 1 receiver Brian Thomas, who he hit on eight occasions for 90 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown late in the first quarter. Lawrence hit Tim Patrick from 26 yards out early in the fourth quarter for his other TD toss, the quarterback's first multi-touchdown-pass tally since Week 2. Despite the solid numbers, the modest point total did Jacksonville in Sunday, a matter he'll look to rectify in a London matchup against the high-powered Rams in Week 7.
Oct 6, 2025
Three total TDs in win
Lawrence completed 18 of 25 passes for 221 yards with one touchdown and one interception while adding 10 carries for 54 yards and two more scores in the Jaguars' 31-28 win over the Chiefs on Monday night. He also lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence put the Jaguars on his shoulders for the majority of the night despite a critical early second-quarter fumble at Kansas City's one-yard line, helping spearhead a comeback from an early 14-0 deficit with a three-yard touchdown pass to Parker Washington and the first of two rushing scores to knot the game back up just before the halfway point of the third quarter. Lawrence then saved his best for the most important part of the contest, leading a seven-play, 60-yard game-winning march that he capped off with an eventful one-yard touchdown run which began with him stumbling twice due to having his foot stepped on by an offensive lineman as he dropped back. Lawrence is still a work in progress in head coach Liam Coen's offense, but he completed a season-best 72.0 percent of his passes Monday night ahead of a Week 6 home matchup against a Seahawks defense that allowed the Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield to complete 29 of 33 passes for 379 yards and two TDs in Seattle's Week 5 loss.
Sep 28, 2025
Manages team to victory
Lawrence completed 21 of 31 pass attempts for 174 yards and a touchdown while taking seven carries for seven yards in Sunday's 26-21 win over the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence played the role of game manager Sunday, protecting the football with safe, short throws en route to Jacksonville's third win of the season. It was still a lackluster showing from a fantasy perspective after the fifth-year pro failed to score multiple touchdowns for the third time in four starts this year. Lawrence has the Jaguars looking strong out of the gates, but his play does not inspire hope in fantasy circles heading into a tough matchup against the Chiefs next Monday.
Sep 21, 2025
Continues scuffling in Week 3 win
Lawrence completed 20 of 40 passes for 222 yards with no touchdowns and one interception while rushing twice for nine yards in the Jaguars' 17-10 win over the Texans on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence averaged just 5.6 yards per attempt while failing to throw a touchdown for the first time in three games this season. The 2021 first overall pick spread the ball around to nine different pass catchers overall, but he leveraged another impressive performance by his defense to help the Jaguars garner their second win of the season. To date, Lawrence has concerningly completed just 55.8 of his passes in head coach Liam Coen's typically QB-friendly offense, and he draws another tough matchup in a Week 4 road clash against the 49ers.
Sep 14, 2025
Pair of picks in Week 2 loss
Lawrence completed 24 of 42 passes for 271 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions while adding two rushes for four yards in the Jaguars' 31-27 loss to the Bengals on Sunday. He also fumbled once but recovered.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence had the Jaguars in position for a win until the Bengals managed to rally behind Jake Browning on a 15-play, 92-yard touchdown drive. Lawrence put together an impressive performance overall that included touchdown passes to Dyami Brown (nine yards), Bhayshul Tuten (eight yards) and Travis Etienne (11 yards), but he also short-circuited two Jacksonville drives in the first half with interceptions at the Bengals' three-yard line and his own 34-yard line. The two plays would help lead to a combined 10 points for Cincinnati, certainly key developments in such a close game. Lawrence also continued to struggle in his connection with No. 1 receiver Brian Thomas (four catches on 12 targets), and the duo will encounter a tough defensive matchup in a Week 3 home date against the Texans next Sunday.
Sep 7, 2025
Quiet in Week 1 win
Lawrence completed 19 of 31 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown with one interception in Sunday's 26-10 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
It was an odd game that saw the Jaguars take a 20-3 lead into halftime, but only after a lengthy weather delay in the middle of the second quarter due to lightning. Whether that delay impacted Lawrence's performance is tough to say, but he didn't need to do much in the second half. New coach Liam Coen led Baker Mayfield to a career-best season with the Buccaneers in 2024, and while he could eventually do the same for Lawrence, the jury is very much still out. He'll look to deliver better numbers on the road in Week 2 in what could be a barn burner against Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
Aug 21, 2025
Next game will be Week 1
With coach Liam Coen noting Thursday that the Jaguars' starters won't play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Dolphins, per Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union, Lawrence's next game action will occur in Week 1 against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
As the team's regular-season opener approaches, the Jaguars will focus on keeping Lawrence -- who was limited to 10 games last season -- healthy and ready to face Carolina. As long as he can avoid injuries, Lawrence is bounce-back candidate this year while working with Coen, who's coming off a successful season as Tampa's Bay's offensive coordinator. In addition to ascending second-year wideout Brian Thomas, Travis Hunter, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, provides Lawrence with another intriguing playmaker in a pass-catching corps that also includes WRs Dyami Brown and Parker Washington, as well as TE Brenton Strange.
Aug 17, 2025
Fumble, TD on Sunday's two drives
Lawrence completed eight of 10 passes for 76 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 17-17 preseason tie against the Saints. He also rushed once for no gain and lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence and the starters played two drives and moved the ball well. The first possession got down to the 11-yard line prior to Lawrence's fumble on a botched handoff attempt, and Lawrence bounced back by capping the second drive with a seven-yard touchdown pass to Parker Washington. Jacksonville's final preseason tune-up before the regular season will come Saturday in Miami.
Aug 16, 2025
Starters playing Sunday
Jaguars coach Liam Coen said Saturday that Lawrence and the starters will suit up for Sunday's preseason game against the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence and the starters will suit up for action in a second consecutive preseason contest, after he completed six of seven passes for 43 yards in his lone drive against Pittsburgh in last week's exhibition opener. However, with Travis Hunter (upper body) having been held out of practice Friday, the rookie first-round pick's availability remains uncertain. With or without Hunter on Sunday, though, Lawrence will have plenty of pass-catching weapons to utilize, with all of Brian Thomas, Dyami Brown, Parker Washington and TE Brenton Strange on track to suit up on the road in New Orleans.
Aug 9, 2025
Leads one drive in preseason opener
Lawrence completed six of seven passes for 43 yards in Saturday's 31-25 preseason loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence played Jacksonville's first offensive possession and led the offense to a field goal. He was accurate but threw exclusively short passes, with his longest completion going for only 11 yards. Lawrence played with the entire first-team offense, and it's unclear if coach Liam Cohen plans for his starting quarterback to retake the field during the preseason.
Aug 7, 2025
In line to play Saturday
Coach Liam Coen announced Thursday that the Jaguars plan to play their starters (including Lawrence) versus the Steelers in Saturday's preseason opener, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per the report, Coen indicated that getting Lawrence and the Jaguars' key healthy players some game reps this weekend would be beneficial, as they transition to the team's new offensive scheme. That said, Coen didn't specify how long Lawrence would stay in Saturday's game before giving way to some combo of fellow QBs Nick Mullens, John Wolford and Seth Henigan.

Declares himself 100 percent
Lawrence (shoulder) said Wednesday that he's 100 percent healthy entering training camp, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official website reports.
ANALYSIS
"I feel really good," Lawrence said "It's the best I felt in a long time physically." Lawrence played in just 10 regular-season games last season due to a concussion and left (non-throwing) shoulder injury, the latter which required surgery. Lawrence was taking it slow during the offseason program, but he's back to full health and rejuvenated in new coach Liam Coen's offense. The Jaguars return Brian Thomas as the alpha WR1 and used the No. 2 overall pick on Travis Hunter. Lawrence is an intriguing mid-round fantasy quarterback who could greatly outproduce his average draft position if he's able to spike his touchdown rate in an offense flush with playmakers.

Wearing sleeve on throwing arm
Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said Tuesday at the start of mandatory minicamp that Lawrence (shoulder) is wearing a sleeve on his right throwing arm due to "general soreness" related to the amount of throwing he did at voluntary OTAs last week, James Palmer of 104.3 The Fan reports.
ANALYSIS
Coen said Lawrence "feels good" and indicated that any limitations the quarterback faces at minicamp are maintenance-related, as he continues to work his way back from surgery undergone last December to address an AC joint sprain in his left, non-throwing shoulder. Lawrence reportedly looked sharp at OTAs while building chemistry with his new-look wide receiver corps, which added rookie second overall pick Travis Hunter and veteran Dyami Brown in the offseason. Hunter and Brown join budding superstar Brian Thomas, who strung together a 87-1,282-10 receiving line across 17 regular-season appearances as a rookie despite Lawrence starting just 10 of those games, replacing departed veterans Christian Kirk and TE Evan Engram. All indications are that Lawrence remains on track to be fully cleared for the start of training camp,
Jun 5, 2025
Looking sharp at OTAs
Lawrence (shoulder) has impressed coaches throughout OTAs and has been a quick adapter of new head coach Liam Coen's offensive scheme, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Coen singled out Lawrence's "quick decisions" in 11-on-11 red-zone work as praiseworthy, also noting that the fifth-year pro "has done a nice job with his footwork," an area of emphasis for the new offensive scheme. As Oehser notes, the 2021 first overall pick is currently learning his third offensive system in five seasons, but there's reason to be confident in Coen's scheme being the best fit of the bunch for Lawrence, given his track record as offensive coordinator for the Rams and Buccaneers. Lawrence is over six months removed from surgery undergone to address an AC joint sprain in his left, non-throwing shoulder, and he remains on track to be fully cleared for the start of training camp. Rookie No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter has begun the offseason focusing on the offensive side of the ball, providing Lawrence another potential star wideout to join 2024 first-round phenom Brian Thomas. Jacksonville also inked Dyami Brown to a one-year deal back in March, with returnees Parker Washington and TE Brenton

Will be limited during spring work
Lawrence (shoulder) will be limited during the spring as he continues to recovery from AC joint surgery, Mike DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence underwent surgery on his left, non-throwing shoulder Dec. 17 and was in a sling until late January. While the Jaguars plan to bring him along slowly, he's expected to be fully cleared for the start of training camp later this summer. "We're optimistic that we'll get there in terms of where we need to go," coach Liam Coen said Wednesday. "He'll be on a pitch count for those things. In terms of the where he has to get to, because he has little touch points he needs to reach before he can obviously get out onto the grass and do it full speed, everything's moving forward. He feels really good right now, so excited about that." Lawrence relayed that he's "very optimistic" he'll be ready well ahead of Week 1.
Dec 18, 2024
Shoulder surgery completed
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Lawrence underwent surgery Tuesday to repair the AC joint sprain in his left shoulder, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Surgery for Lawrence's sprained non-throwing shoulder was always on the docket after the Jaguars placed him on injured reserve Dec. 4, but the quarterback waited until he cleared concussion protocol before having the procedure. Now that he's no longer dealing with concussion symptoms from the hit to head he took from the Texans' Azeez Al-Shaair in the Jaguars' Week 13 loss, Lawrence will turn his focus to rehabbing and strengthening the shoulder. Pederson said he expects Lawrence to be a full participant when the Jaguars kick off their offseason program in the spring.
Dec 6, 2024
Recovering from concussion before surgery
Lawrence (shoulder) needs to clear concussion protocol before undergoing surgery on his sprained AC joint, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
Regardless of the exact timing of surgery, Lawrence won't play again this season and should have plenty of time to recover before Week 1 of 2025. It's his left, non-throwing shoulder that will be operated on, which means there shouldn't be much impact for next season even if the process is delayed a few weeks. Jacksonville's roster and/or coaching staff may look very different by the time Lawrence is healthy.
Dec 4, 2024
Out for season
Lawrence (concussion) is expected to miss the rest of the season, as he's slated to undergo surgery to repair the AC joint sprain in his left shoulder in the next few weeks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence sat out Weeks 11 and 12 due to the shoulder injury, and in his return to action this past Sunday, he was on the receiving end of a vicious hit from Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair in the second quarter, suffering a concussion in the process. After the Jaguars placed Lawrence on injured reserve Wednesday, there was a chance he'd be able to return Week 18 at Indianapolis, but that won't come to pass following Rapoport's report. Lawrence thus will end the 2024 campaign having completing 172 of 284 attempts (60.6 percent) for 2,045 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions, recording 26 carries for 119 yards and three more TDs and fumbling three times (one lost). Mac Jones will direct Jacksonville's offense moving forward.
Dec 4, 2024
Lands on IR
Lawrence (concussion) has been placed on IR by the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence, who suffered a concussion in this past Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Texans, is set to miss at least the team's next four games, meaning that the soonest he could return to action is Week 18 against the Colts. In his absence, Mac Jones is next up at QB for the Jaguars, with C.J. Beathard in line to back him up.
Dec 4, 2024
Not practicing Wednesday
Head coach Doug Pederson said that Lawrence (concussion) won't practice Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Pederson, at this stage Lawrence is in the NFL's concussion protocol after having exited this past Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Texans. With the status of Lawrence -- who had been dealing with a left (non-throwing) shoulder issuer heading into Week 13 action -- cloudy ahead of the Jaguars' contest versus the Titans this weekend, Mac Jones and C.J. Beathard are available to handle the team's QB reps at practice Wednesday.
Dec 2, 2024
Uncertain for rest of season
Speaking with the media Monday, coach Doug Pederson said no decision has been made yet if Lawrence (concussion) will play again this season, Kainani Stevens of the Jaguars' team website reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence is in the concussion protocol after being carted off the field Sunday following a vicious forearm to the head from Azeez Al-Shaair. The hit got Al-Shaair got ejected. The 2-10 Jaguars are in last place in the AFC South and are, of course, extreme long shots to make the postseason. Also dealing with a shoulder issue that could require offseason surgery, the team may not feel it's worth putting Lawrence back out on the field in 2024. Mac Jones replaced Lawrence versus Houston and completed 20 of 32 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns in relief, almost leading a comeback after the Jaguars were down 23-6 in the fourth quarter.
Dec 1, 2024
Suffers concussion Sunday
Lawrence won't return to Sunday's game against the Texans after sustaining a concussion.
ANALYSIS
Prior to his exit from the game, Lawrence completed four of his 10 pass attempts for 41 yards and an interception and carried once for six yards. In his absence, Mac Jones is in line to take over at QB for the Jaguars.
Dec 1, 2024
Returning from two-game absence
Lawrence (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Texans.
ANALYSIS
After missing the Jaguars' last two games with an AC joint sprain in his non-throwing shoulder, Lawrence has been cleared to reclaim starting duties coming out of a Week 12 bye. Lawrence was listed as a limited participant in all three of the Jaguars' practices this week, but he displayed enough improvement with his condition for the coaching and medical staff to sign off on his return. While an offseason procedure on the shoulder hasn't been ruled out, Lawrence looks poised to play through the issue for the final six contests of the campaign.
Nov 29, 2024
Listed as questionable, expected to play
Lawrence (left shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans after practicing in a limited fashion this week.
ANALYSIS
Per Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union, Lawrence -- who is dealing with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder -- appeared to look much more comfortable while getting his throws in at practice Friday, with the QB expected to play Sunday. Meanwhile, Michael DiRocco of ESPN relays that head coach Doug Pederson indicated Friday that if Lawrence -- who had a good week of practice -- is active this weekend, he'll have no limitations in his first game action since Nov. 3. Final confirmation of Lawrence's Week 13 availability is slated to arrive prior to the first wave of games Sunday, with the Jaguars kicking off at 1:00 ET.
Nov 29, 2024
Trending toward return Sunday
Head coach Doug Pederson noted Friday that Lawrence (left shoulder) is trending toward playing Sunday against the Texans, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
When discussing the status of Lawrence -- who has missed two straight games -- Pederson said "he's had a good week. Done some really good things this week. I would say as of right now, yes, he will play." Friday's injury report will provide added context with regard to the Jaguars' Week 13 QB situation by revealing whether or not Lawrence heads into the weekend carrying an injury designation.
Nov 28, 2024
Remains limited Thursday
Lawrence (left shoulder) was listed as limited on Thursday's practice report, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was also deemed limited Wednesday, giving him one more chance to upgrade his participation level ahead of Sunday's game against the Texans. Added context regarding the QB's chances of playing this weekend will arrive no later than Friday when the Jaguars post their final Week 13 injury report.
Nov 27, 2024
Listed as limited, hopes to play
Lawrence (shoulder) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
ESPN's Michael Di Rocco reports that Lawrence hasn't ruled out eventually having surgery on his sprained left shoulder but hopes to play through the injury for now. That may happen as soon as Sunday against the Texans, with Lawrence coming out of a Week 12 bye after missing back-to-back games. "I think [the sprained AC joint] has been a pretty difficult thing to gauge, of what's the best path forward," Lawrence said Wednesday. "[Surgery is] definitely something that I'm considering and not off the table at all. Hopefully I'm able to get back out there this week or as soon as possible and then it's going to be just every week kind of evaluating it, seeing where it's at."
Nov 27, 2024
Set to practice Wednesday
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson noted that Lawrence (shoulder) is slated to practice Wednesday, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
More importantly, Pederson indicated that Lawrence, who has missed the Jaguars' last two games, is poised to log a majority of first-team QB reps Wednesday. Jacksonville's upcoming injury report will reveal Lawrence's official participation level, but following a Week 12 bye, the signal-caller appears to be trending in the right direction as Sunday's game against the Texans approaches.
Nov 25, 2024
Slated to practice Monday
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that Lawrence (shoulder) will practice Monday, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence missed the Jaguars' final two games prior to the team's Week 12 bye with an AC joint sprain in his left (non-throwing) shoulder. While the quarterback could require surgery at some point to address the injury, the Jaguars don't appear ready to shut him down for the season just yet. Pederson said that the Jaguars will see how Lawrence fares in practice throughout the week before a determination is made on his status for Sunday's game against the Texans. If Lawrence remains sidelined for another contest, the Jaguars would turn to either Mac Jones or C.J. Beathard to start the Week 13 contest.
Nov 13, 2024
Ruled out for Week 11
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that Lawrence (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Mac Jones will draw a second straight start in place of Lawrence, who is nursing an AC joint sprain to his left (non-throwing) shoulder. Though surgery on the shoulder could be a possibility at some point, for now, Lawrence looks to be planning on treating the injury with rest and rehab. After Sunday's contest, the Jaguars are on bye Week 12, and Pederson told Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union that he has optimism that Lawrence might be ready to return to action Week 13 against the Texans. The Jaguars aren't likely to provide another update on Lawrence's condition until the team resumes practicing coming out of the bye week.
Nov 10, 2024
Officially inactive for Week 10
Lawrence (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
As anticipated, Lawrence will be sidelined for just the second time in his four-year career, paving the way for Mac Jones to make his first start with the Jaguars, while C.J. Beathard serves as the team's backup quarterback. Lawrence was a limited participant in practice all week while tending to an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder, an injury he sustained on a run in last week's loss to the Eagles. Though the injury is to Lawrence's non-throwing shoulder, it's considered serious enough to threaten his availability beyond Week 10 and potentially require surgery. For now, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relays the Jaguars' plan is to have Lawrence treat the injury through rest and rehab, but the quarterback could receive further opinions on the matter. The Jaguars will play next Sunday in Detroit before heading into a Week 12 bye, so it wouldn't be surprising if Lawrence ended up missing two games due to the injury.
Nov 10, 2024
Nursing AC joint sprain, will miss Week 10
Lawrence is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings, but he's not in line to play and could be at risk of missing the rest of the season due to a serious AC joint sprain to his left (non-throwing) shoulder, Dianna Russini and Mike Silver of The Athletic report.
ANALYSIS
Jacksonville listed Lawrence as a limited practice participant throughout the week while he managed the injury, but Tom Pelissero of NFL Network notes that Mac Jones handled all the first-team reps in practice and is on track to make his first start with the Jaguars. Whether Jones starts any games beyond Sunday is still to be determined, as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network notes that Lawrence is weighing his options while he recovers from a "significant" injury that he suffered on a hit during the second quarter of last week's loss to the Eagles. Though Lawrence didn't miss any snaps in that game, he'll be officially made inactive ahead of Sunday's game before the Jaguars determine his next steps after he receives further medical opinions on his injury. Rapoport notes that surgery is a possibility for Lawrence, though the Jaguars' current plan is to have him treat the injury through rest and rehab. Lawrence previously underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in the same shoulder following his junior season at Cle
Nov 10, 2024
Not expected to play in Week 10
Lawrence (shoulder), who is officially questionable for Sunday's matchup against Minnesota, isn't likely to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
This report follows a comment by Jaguars coach Doug Pederson on Friday indicating that Lawrence was "trending toward not playing." Per Schefter, it's uncertain at this point if Lawrence will return for next Sunday's clash with Detroit or if Jacksonville will instead opt to give him another week off with the team's bye following one week later. With Lawrence likely out at least this Sunday, Mac Jones is in line to make his first start of the campaign.
Nov 8, 2024
Trending in wrong direction
Lawrence (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings, but coach Doug Pederson said Friday that the quarterback "is trending toward not playing," according to Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence hurt his left, non-throwing shoulder during this past Sunday's loss in Philadelphia but didn't miss any of the Jaguars' 54 offensive snaps. Pederson revealed the injury to be soreness Wednesday, and Lawrence followed it up with three consecutive capped practices this week. On Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Lawrence was unlikely to be available Sunday, and Pederson's comments back up that report. If Lawrence ultimately is ruled out or is deemed inactive about 90 minutes before a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, Mac Jones will be Jacksonville's starting QB, with C.J. Beathard serving as the backup.
Nov 8, 2024
Trending toward not playing
Speaking with the media Friday, coach Doug Pederson confirmed Lawrence (shoulder) is trending toward not playing Sunday against the Vikings, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Pederson said Mac Jones will start if Lawrence is indeed ruled out. The team also signed C.J. Beathard off the Dolphins' practice squad earlier in the week to serve as the likely backup. Pederson wouldn't speculate on possible surgery for Lawrence or a trip to injured reserve, but things could be trending that direction if Jacksonville's season continues to circle the drain.
Nov 7, 2024
Remains limited, unlikely for Week 10
Lawrence (shoulder) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Though Lawrence was able to practice in a limited capacity for the second day in a row, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported earlier Thursday that the signal-caller is unlikely to play in Sunday's game against the Vikings while he continues to seek treatment options for ongoing discomfort in his non-throwing shoulder. Head coach Doug Pederson didn't address Lawrence's Week 10 status Thursday, but the Jaguars' signing of C.J. Beathard to the 53-man roster earlier in the week would seemingly support the notion that Lawrence isn't tracking toward playing Sunday. Mac Jones has served as the Jaguars' top backup this season and would be in line to start Sunday if Lawrence ends up sitting out.
Nov 7, 2024
Unlikely to play Week 10
Lawrence is considered unlikely to play Sunday against the Vikings while he continues to receive treatment for his left shoulder injury, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence appeared to sustain the injury to his non-throwing shoulder during a rushing attempt in the second quarter of this past Sunday's 28-23 loss to the Eagles. Though he didn't end up missing any snaps in Week 9, Lawrence was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, and Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson was unwilling to commit to the quarterback being ready to play against the Vikings. While the Jaguars haven't yet provided an update on Lawrence's status following Wednesday's practice, Rapoport suggests that the team is preparing to be without its franchise signal-caller for at least one game. Jacksonville signed C.J. Beathard off Miami's practice squad Tuesday to bolster their depth at quarterback, but Mac Jones will be in line to start Sunday's contest if Lawrence ends up being ruled out.

Nursing sore shoulder
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that Lawrence is dealing with a sore left shoulder and will be a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence is tending to the injury to his non-throwing shoulder after getting banged up on a hit during the first half of this past Sunday's 28-23 loss to the Eagles. The issue didn't result in Lawrence missing any snaps and isn't expected to prevent him from starting this coming Sunday against the Vikings, but his practice reps will be capped Wednesday, and possibly the next two days as well. The Jaguars signed C.J. Beathard off the Dolphins' practice squad earlier Wednesday to provide insurance at quarterback behind Lawrence, though Pederson noted that Mac Jones remains Lawrence's top backup.

May be hurting heading into Week 10
Lawrence admitted after Sunday's 28-23 loss to the Eagles that he was banged up and feeling sore during the game, and his activity in practice in Week 10 could be affected as a result, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was examined at halftime after taking a hit on a run earlier in the contest, but he didn't miss a snap in the loss and finished with 16 completions on 31 attempts for 169 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions while carrying five times for eight yards and two scores. Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson is expected to shed more light on Lawrence's health when he speaks to the media later Wednesday, but Jacksonville's signing of C.J. Beathard off the Dolphins' practice squad could point to some level of concern about Lawrence's availability heading into this Sunday's game against the Vikings. Mac Jones has served as Lawrence's backup all season and would presumably draw the starting nod in Week 10 if Lawrence is unable to play versus Minnesota.

Short TDs save poor passing day
Lawrence completed 16 of 31 pass attempts for 169 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions while rushing five times for eight yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 28-23 loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence had a rough day in terms of passing the football, but two short rushing scores helped alleviate what would have been a poor fantasy day. The 2021 first-overall pick continues to provide mixed results under head coach Doug Pederson as the Jaguars drop to 2-7. Lawrence's managers will hope for better results against a middling Vikings' defense next Sunday.
Oct 27, 2024
Scores thrice Sunday
Lawrence completed 21 of 32 pass attempts for 308 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while rushing four times for 10 yards and a third touchdown (one fumble lost) in Sunday's 30-27 loss to Green Bay.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence recorded his first game with three touchdowns this season, but it also came at the cost of his first two-turnover contest. The 2021 first overall pick has quietly been solid through seven weeks, producing an 11:4 TD:INT ratio for a flailing Jaguars squad. Lawrence will always intrigue with his physical tools and upside, but he should be considered a mid-tier fantasy option heading into a Week 8 matchup against the Eagles.
Oct 20, 2024
Efficient, mistake-free in win
Lawrence completed 15 of 20 passes for 193 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Jaguars' 32-16 win over the Patriots on Sunday in London. He also rushed twice for 13 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence averaged an impressive 9.7 yards per attempt and avoided both turnovers and sacks altogether, making it a rare smooth afternoon for the embattled Jaguars signal-caller. Lawrence did see a three-game streak of multiple touchdown passes snapped, but he still recorded one scoring strike to Brian Thomas for six yards out early in the second quarter. Lawrence's sub-200-yard tally was his fourth such this season, but unlike other instances, Sunday's modest numbers were the result of a positive game script for Jacksonville. Lawrence and his teammates now return stateside after back-to-back games in London to host the Jaguars in Week 8.
Oct 13, 2024
Pair of TDs in London loss
Lawrence completed 23 of 35 passes for 234 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the Jaguars' 35-16 loss to the Bears on Sunday in London. He also rushed four times for 17 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence's final line was serviceable from a fantasy perspective as he generated his third straight two-touchdown-pass tally by connecting with Gabe Davis for scoring tosses of 21 and five yards. However, there were still too many stalled drives for the Jaguars, who punted on three consecutive first-half possessions following an opening-drive field goal. Lawrence did lead two long second-half marches that culminated in his touchdown strikes to Davis, but both came with Jacksonville facing a double-digit deficit. Lawrence's interception came in Jaguars territory as well and led to a Chicago touchdown, making it a lackluster real-world performance for the inconsistent 2021 first overall pick. Lawrence and the Jaguars will remain overseas for a Week 7 matchup against the Patriots at Wembley Stadium.
Oct 6, 2024
Season-best effort in victory
Lawrence completed 28 of 34 passes for 371 yards with two touchdowns and one interception and rushed twice for four yards in the Jaguars' 37-34 win over the Colts on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Looking for a little magic on his 25th birthday, Lawrence was able to help the Jaguars to their long-awaited first victory by turning in an elite performance. The 2021 first-round pick didn't toss his first touchdown of the afternoon until midway through the second quarter, connecting with star rookie Brian Thomas just past the midway point of the second quarter for an 85-yard catch-and-run score. Lawrence would come back with a four-yard TD toss to Brenton Strange early in the fourth quarter, and he subsequently helmed an eight-play, 39-yard game-winning march during which he recorded completions of nine, 11 and 14 yards. Lawrence did throw his second interception of the campaign at the Colts' two-yard line, but his overall body of work sends him into Jacksonville's annual London trip in Week 6 for a matchup against the Bears with plenty of momentum.
Sep 29, 2024
Tosses two TDs in loss
Lawrence completed 18 of 33 passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Despite another meager yardage total, Lawrence tossed multiple TDs in a game for the first time this season, hitting rookie Brian Thomas for a two-yard strike in the first quarter and Christian Kirk for an eight-yard score in the third. The latter gave the Jaguars a 20-17 lead, which looked like it might hold up until the team's defense failed to stop C.J. Stroud on the Texans' final drive. Lawrence will try to finish the job and give Jacksonville its first win of 2024 in Week 5 against Indianapolis.
Sep 23, 2024
More lackluster numbers in loss
Lawrence completed 21 of 38 passes for 178 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Jaguars' 47-10 loss to the Bills on Monday night. He also rushed twice for three yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence and the Jaguars' offense as a whole was under duress early, as the Bills already had 13-0 lead by the end of one that had expanded to a 34-3 advantage by halftime. The 2021 first overall pick could only led Jacksonville to that one field goal on five first-half possessions, one which he short-circuited with an interception. Lawrence's best stretch of play came on the opening possession of the second half, when he helmed an eight-play, 70-yard march that he capped with a six-yard touchdown toss to Brenton Strange. The fourth-year signal-caller eventually gave way to Mac Jones midway through the fourth quarter with the game long out of reach, and Lawrence will head into a Week 4 road divisional showdown against the Texans on Sunday having thrown for no more than 220 yards in any of his first three games.
Sep 15, 2024
Can't solve Cleveland defense
Lawrence completed 14 of 30 passes for 220 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions in Sunday's 18-13 loss to the Browns. He added two rushes for 45 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence's overall line isn't bad from yards-per-attempt perspective, but he struggled to keep the Jaguars' offense on schedule. He had only 16 yards at halftime, and each of his six passes of 20 or more yards came after the team trailed by two possessions. Lawrence has hit for big plays and displayed mediocre efficiency through two games, but he hasn't sustained a productive offense for the team and has only one touchdown as a result.
Sep 8, 2024
Sees second-half downturn Sunday
Lawrence completed 12 of 21 passes for 162 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions while adding one rush for eight yards in the Jaguars' 20-17 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence had the Jaguars' offense clicking early, helping lead Jacksonville to 17 first-half points via a trio of impressive drives. He capped the second one of those off with a 14-yard touchdown pass to rookie Brian Thomas, but he was a different quarterback in the second half. The Dolphins defense turned up the heat and made Lawrence uncomfortable, particularly in the fourth quarter when the Jaguars were badly in need of some points to fend off Miami's ultimately successful rally. He displayed the most chemistry with his two new pass catchers -- Thomas and Gabe Davis -- who combined for seven receptions, 109 yards and a touchdown -- while only finding the incumbent duo of Christian Kirk and Evan Engram on two of eight passes. Lawrence and the Jaguars will look to regroup ahead of a Week 2 home matchup against the Browns next Sunday.
Aug 23, 2024
Sharp in rehearsal
Lawrence completed eight of 10 passes for 92 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions in Friday's 31-0 preseason win over the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence played two drives and capped each with a touchdown pass to Evan Engram. With Christian Kirk (calf) sidelined, Lawrence also had the chance to connect with rookie Brian Thomas for a long 38-yard gain as well as with Parker Washington. Though the true test will come in Week 1 against Miami, Lawrence was in command of the offense and accomplished everything that could have been asked of him Friday night.
Aug 19, 2024
Scheduled to play this week
Coach Doug Pederson suggested Monday that Lawrence and other starters will play "maybe two quarters" in Friday's preseason game at Atlanta, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence played one drive in the preseason opener at Kansas City and none in Saturday's exhibition win over Tampa Bay. It sounds like he'll get a lot more work in the final tune-up before a Week 1 matchup with Miami.
Aug 15, 2024
Won't play in preseason Week 2
Lawrence isn't scheduled to play in Saturday's preseason game against Tampa Bay, Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL 92.5 FM Jacksonville reports.
ANALYSIS
Mac Jones and CJ Beathard are expected to each play a half, though coach Doug Pederson didn't specify which QB would go first. Lawrence played in Jacksonville's preseason opener this past Saturday against Kansas City and completed three of four passes for 42 yards and a touchdown on his only drive.
Aug 10, 2024
Sharp on two possessions Saturday
Lawrence completed three of four passes for 42 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in the Jaguars' 26-13 preseason win over the Chiefs on Saturday night.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was in on the Jaguars' first two possessions and looked sharp during his time on the field, leading the Jaguars to an opening-drive touchdown that came via a nine-yard touchdown pass to Travis Etienne. Lawrence third and final completion of the night notably came to offseason addition Gabe Davis for 20 yards to open the second drive of the night, and the overall play of the first-team members of Jacksonville's offense was encouraging. Lawrence could be in for even more playing time in Jacksonville's second preseason game next Saturday night at home against the Buccaneers.
Aug 8, 2024
Set to play Saturday
Lawrence and other starters are scheduled to play "a series or two" in Saturday's preseason game against Kansas City, Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
It doesn't sound like Lawrence will get enough run to be a desirable option in preseasons DFS contests, but fantasy players may be interested to see him take the field with new wide receivers Gabe Davis and Brian Thomas. It's not clear the latter will get much first-team work at this point, but the Jaguars figure to give their rookie first-round pick a good look at some point this year even if Parker Washington gets more snaps early on (which is far from a sure thing).
Jun 13, 2024
Inks long-term deal
The Jaguars and Lawrence agreed to terms on a five-year, $275 million contract extension Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence's new deal includes $142 million fully guaranteed, and the average annual value of $55 million matches Joe Burrow's NFL-leading mark. After Jacksonville extended the fifth-year opinion on Lawrence's rookie contract this spring, it was only a matter of time before the two sides reached an agreement to keep the first overall pick in the 2021 Draft in Duval for the foreseeable future. Through three pro campaigns, he's surpassed 4,000 yards twice while accumulating a 58:39 TD:INT in 50 regular-season games.
Apr 29, 2024
Fifth-year option exercised
The Jaguars officially exercised Lawrence's fifth-year option Monday.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence and fellow 2021 first-round pick Travis Etienne both had their fifth-year options officially picked up Monday, a move general manager Trent Baalke announced on Saturday. Lawrence is coming off back-to-back 4,000-yard seasons, and Jacksonville had made moves to fill the void left by offseason departure Calvin Ridley by signing Gabe Davis to the wide receiver room and drafting rookie Brian Thomas 23rd overall. The Jaguars will continue working toward a long-term deal with Lawrence, but in the meantime he now remains under contract through 2025.
Apr 27, 2024
To receive fifth-year option
GM Trent Baalke said Saturday that the Jaguars will exercise the fifth-year option on Lawrence's rookie contract, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Teams need to make such decisions for 2021 first-round picks by Thursday, and Jacksonville intends to exercise those options for both Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne. Lawrence will be working with a familiar backfield of Etienne and Tank Bigsby in 2024, but his receiving corps has been jostled a bit, with WR Calvin Ridley departing for the AFC South rival Titans and rookie second-rounder Brian Thomas and free-agent pickup Gabe Davis replacing him. While Lawrence has tossed for 4,000-plus yards in back-to-back campaigns, he has yet to reach 30 touchdowns through the air in any of his three seasons as a pro.
Mar 14, 2024
Loses top wideout
Lawrence will enter the 2024 season without the presence of Calvin Ridley, who is set to sign a four-year, $92 million contract with the Titans, Nick Shook of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence suited up for one less game last season after playing all 17 in 2022, but despite Ridley's presence atop the depth chart, he took a step back in terms of passing yards (4,016 vs. 4,113), touchdowns (21 vs. 25), and increased his interception total (14 vs. eight). That said, the loss of Ridley to free agency still represents a knock to Lawrence's prospects for 2024, especially with Zay Jones also being a speculated cap casualty. The addition of Gabe Davis from Buffalo, who joins Christian Kirk (groin), does something to mitigate those concerns, and the Jaguars still have plenty of time to make further moves in free agency or April's draft.
Jan 7, 2024
Comes up short in Week 18
Lawrence completed 29 of 43 passes for 280 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 28-20 loss to the Titans. He added three rushes for 10 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence returned from a one-game absence caused by a shoulder injury and had both good and bad moments in the must-win game. He connected with Calvin Ridley for a 59-yard touchdown early in the second quarter, giving the Jaguars a rare lead during the game. Lawrence's next score didn't come until early in the fourth quarter on a 14-yard toss to Evan Engram. In between, he threw a pair of picks, one of which led to a touchdown for the Titans. While he's been forced to play through several injuries this season, Sunday's performance was an illustration of Lawrence's entire year, as he threw 21 touchdowns as opposed to 14 interceptions while also losing seven fumbles. With the loss, the Jaguars missed the postseason, a disappointing end to Lawrence's third campaign in the league.
Jan 7, 2024
Cleared to play Sunday
Lawrence (right shoulder/left finger) is active for Sunday's game against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
With the Jaguars needing a win Sunday to claim the AFC South title and earn a trip to the postseason, Lawrence will make his return from a one-game absence to direct the Jacksonville offense. He'll likely be operating at well below 100 percent, after he was listed as a limited participant in practices Wednesday through Friday while recovering from an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder as well as an injury to a finger on his non-throwing hand. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Lawrence won't be at risk of reinjury to the shoulder by suiting up Sunday, though he'll have to manage some pain. In his return to action, Lawrence should will get one of his starting receivers in Zay Jones (knee/hamstring) back from a two-game absence, though Christian Kirk (groin) won't suit up despite being activated from injured reserve Saturday.
Jan 7, 2024
Looking likely to play Sunday
Lawrence (right shoulder/left finger), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans, is "trending in the right direction" ahead of the contest's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Jaguars aren't yet certain that Lawrence will be able to play through the AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder as well as the injury to a finger on his non-throwing hand, but the third-year signal-caller is pushing to play and doesn't appear to be at any risk of reinjury. Instead, Lawrence's availability looks as though it'll hinge on his ability to tolerate the pain, and since the Jaguars can secure the AFC South title with a win Sunday, the expectation is that he'll play even though he's probably well below 100 percent healthy. C.J. Beathard directed the Jacksonville offense in last week's 26-0 win over the Panthers and would be in line to start again Sunday if Lawrence is forced to miss a second straight contest.
Jan 6, 2024
Hoping to play
Lawrence (right shoulder/left finger) is pushing to play in Sunday's contest against the Titans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The report indicates Lawrence isn't at risk of further injuring his throwing shoulder, so his availability boils down to pain tolerance, which has been a calling card for the third-year starter in his young career. That the Jaguars could also win the AFC South if they were to win also would be an indicator Lawrence will play, but fantasy managers will need to await official confirmation until 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Jan 5, 2024
Questionable for Sunday's game
Lawrence (right shoulder/left finger) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans after practicing in a limited fashion this week, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Michael DiRocco of ESPN, head coach Doug Pederson suggested Friday that a decision on the status of Lawrence for Sunday's 1:00 ET contest could go right up to game time. Ideally, added context regarding the situation will arrive via national reporters such as Adam Schefter or Ian Rapoport either late Saturday or early Sunday, but if Lawrence is deemed not ready to start versus Tennessee, C.J. Beathard would draw the assignment in his place.
Jan 5, 2024
Could be game-time call
Head coach Doug Pederson indicated Friday that a decision on the status of Lawrence (right shoulder/left finger) for Sunday's game against the Titans could potentially go down to a game-time decision, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was officially listed as a limited practice participant both Wednesday and Thursday and is expected to be deemed questionable ahead of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff. Per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network, Pederson noted that Friday figures to be a big day for the QB, who is in line to increase his throwing velocity during the Jaguars' final practice of the week.
Jan 4, 2024
Remains limited in practice
Lawrence (right shoulder/left finger) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
After missing the first game of his career in last week's 26-0 win over the Panthers, Lawrence has taken a step in the right direction by practicing in a limited fashion in the Jaguars' first two Week 18 sessions. Though head coach Doug Pederson described Lawrence as day-to-day Wednesday, the signal-caller reportedly looked good while throwing the ball Thursday and is seemingly tracking toward a return to the lineup for Sunday's all-important game with the Titans, according to James Palmer of NFL Network. The Jaguars' final injury report of the week will be issued Friday and will reveal whether Lawrence is formally cleared to play Sunday or if he'll take a questionable tag into the matchup with Tennessee.
Jan 3, 2024
Will practice on limited basis
Lawrence (shoulder) is scheduled for limited practice participation Wednesday, Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL 92.5 FM Jacksonville reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Doug Pederson referred to Lawrence as day-to-day at the beginning of the week and again Wednesday morning. The QB missed Sunday's 26-0 win over Carolina with an injury to his throwing shoulder, but the Jags seemingly have some hope of getting both Lawrence and WR Christian Kirk (groin) back in the lineup for Sunday's all-important game against the Titans. A win would make the Jaguars the No. 4 seed, while a loss would leave them needing help to land the seventh and final spot in the AFC.
Jan 1, 2024
Showing improvement
Lawrence (shoulder) is improving and is considered day-to-day ahead of Week 18's contest against Tennessee, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Monday that Lawrence "is definitely improving" but added that the team will wait to see how the quarterback feels Wednesday to further evaluate his chances of suiting up Sunday against the Titans. Jacksonville could potentially have wideout Christian Kirk (groin) back for that contest as well, as the team is expected to open his 21-day practice window Wednesday, per Mark Long of the Associated Press. There is a lot on the line for the Jaguars on Sunday, as they can clinch the AFC South title with a victory. If Lawrence is ultimately deemed unable to suit up for the game, C.J. Beathard would remain the team's starting signal-caller for a second straight week.
Dec 29, 2023
Ruled out this week
Lawrence (right shoulder) won't play Sunday against the Panthers, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With Lawrence set to miss the first regular-season game of his NFL career, C.J. Beathard is slated to start at QB for the Jaguars on Sunday. Lawrence will now target a potential return to action in Week 18 versus the Titans.
Dec 28, 2023
Deemed non-participant Thursday
Lawrence (shoulder) was listed as a non-participant in practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Earlier Thursday, head coach Doug Pederson indicated that Lawrence was in line to see some work in individual drills, but the QB will officially go down as a 'DNP' for the second straight day after all. Lawrence now has one more opportunity to practice ahead of Sunday's game against the Panthers, but if he's unavailable this weekend, C.J. Beathard would be in line to start in his place.
Dec 28, 2023
Not on field at start of practice
Lawrence (shoulder) wasn't spotted during the media-access portion of Thursday's practice, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Doug Pederson noted earlier Thursday that Lawrence was in line to be limited to individual drills, however it remains to be seen how the team will officially list his participation level. Per DiRocco, while Lawrence wasn't spotted during the initial portion of the session, it's possible that the QB could have been working indoors during that span and may still appear at practice.
Dec 28, 2023
Expected to practice Thursday
Head coach Doug Pederson said he expects Lawrence (shoulder) to practice in some capacity Thursday, Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL 92.5 FM Jacksonville reports.
ANALYSIS
Per O'Brien, it's anticipated that Lawrence, at a minimum, will go through the individual portion of practice. The Jaguars will release their second Week 17 injury report later Thursday, when the extent of the quarterback's participation will be known. Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com previously reported that Lawrence -- who suffered a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder during the Jaguars' Week 16 loss to the Buccaneers -- doesn't plan to do much throwing ahead of Sunday's contest against the Panthers. If Lawrence is forced to miss the first game of this career this weekend, C.J. Beathard would be in line to serve as Jacksonville's starting quarterback.
Dec 27, 2023
Not practicing, won't throw much
Lawrence (shoulder) didn't practice Wednesday and doesn't expect to do much throwing this week, ESPN's Michael DiRocco reports.
ANALYSIS
While he still hopes to play against the Panthers on Sunday, it sounds like Lawrence's plan for this week will be more about rest and less about testing his injured shoulder. That's a potential recipe for a game-day decision, though Lawrence acknowledged Wednesday that he's "still pretty sore" and "Kind of working through the beginning stages." CJ Beathard replaced Lawrence at quarterback this past Sunday after the 24-year-old suffered an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder late in the third quarter of a 30-12 loss to Tampa Bay. Lawrence attended Wednesday's practice in shorts and a hoodie while Beathard worked as the first QB through drills.
Dec 26, 2023
Progressing, status for Week 17 TBD
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson confirmed Tuesday that Lawrence's right shoulder injury is an AC joint sprain, while noting that the quarterback is "progressing" but uncertain to be available for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
In addition to not making any promises about Lawrence playing Sunday, Pederson was also unsure about the signal-caller being able to practice Wednesday in any fashion. According to Mark Long of the Associated Press, Pederson added that Lawrence is still dealing with soreness after exiting this past Sunday's 30-12 loss to the Buccaneers with the injury, so the Jaguars may be inclined to hold off on having the quarterback practice until more of the pain subsides. C.J. Beathard would be in line for the Week 17 start if Lawrence can't go, while the Jaguars signed Matt Barkley off the Giants' practice squad Tuesday to provide added depth to the position group.
Dec 25, 2023
Has right shoulder sprain
Lawrence has been diagnosed with a sprained right shoulder following Sunday's 30-12 loss at Tampa Bay, but it's unclear if he's in danger of missing any time, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence has played through a variety of injuries this season, including a sprained knee, a high-ankle sprain and a concussion. The current concern isn't believed to be a major one, but his status will be watched as the week goes on to get a sense of his odds to suit up Sunday against the Panthers. C.J. Beathard has stepped in for Lawrence when the latter has left the field in 2023.
Dec 25, 2023
Injury not viewed as serious
Lawrence is expected to undergo an MRI on Monday for the right shoulder injury he suffered in Sunday's 30-12 loss to the Buccaneers, but the Jaguars' initial belief is that he's not dealing with anything significant, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Heading into this past weekend, Lawrence was listed as questionable while he recovered from a concussion and continued to tend to a high-ankle sprain, but he cleared the five-step protocol Saturday and was ultimately given the green light to play Sunday. However, Lawrence is now dealing with a new injury heading into Week 17, as he hurt his throwing shoulder while attempting to stretch and dive for a first down late in the quarter. He stayed in the game and finished out the possession with an 18-yard touchdown pass to Calvin Ridley, but Lawrence gave way to backup C.J. Beathard for the final quarter. The MRI will shed light on the extent of Lawrence's injury and provide an indication if the shoulder issue is anything that might prevent him from playing next Sunday against Carolina, but the early hope is that the franchise signal-caller will be ready to play next weekend. Even after losing their last four games, the 8-7 Jaguars still sit atop the AFC South standings with the 8-7 Titans and 8-7 Colts via tiebre
Dec 24, 2023
Will undergo tests Monday
Lawrence will undergo tests on his injured right shoulder Monday, Juston Lewis of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was forced to leave Sunday's contest early, and it sounds like the full extent of his injury will not be known for a while longer. C.J. Beathard replaced Lawrence on Sunday and in would be in line to take over if Lawrence is forced to miss any further time.
Dec 24, 2023
Injures shoulder Sunday
Lawrence was forced out of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers with a shoulder injury.
ANALYSIS
Prior to his departure from the contest, Lawrence -- who won't return to action Sunday -- had completed 17 of his 29 passing attempts for 211 yards, with a TD and two picks, while adding four carries for 29 yards. In his absence, C.J. Beathard is in at quarterback for the Jaguars.
Dec 24, 2023
Active versus Tampa Bay
Lawrence (concussion/ankle) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
After not practicing Wednesday or Thursday, Lawrence worked on a limited basis Friday and was deemed questionable ahead of Sunday's contest. However, after clearing the NFL's concussion protocol, per Michael DiRocco of ESPN, the QB traveled with the team to Tampa on Saturday, setting the stage for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft to make his 49th consecutive start, with C.J. Beathard slated to back him up. In the process, Lawrence is in line to face a Buccaneers defense that is allowing an average of 263.9 passing yards per game (31st in the league) thus far. Through 14 games this season, Lawrence has led the Jaguars to an 8-6 record, while completing 65.9 percent of his passing attempts for 3,525 yards to go along with 18 touchdowns with 10 interceptions.
Dec 24, 2023
Looks on tap for starting nod
Lawrence (concussion/ankle) took the field for pregame warmups and appears on track to start Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Juston Lewis of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence remains listed as questionable as the game's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff approaches, but he looks like he'll be able to direct the Jacksonville offense despite not having put in a full practice this week. The quarterback did manage a limited practice session Friday, and he was given the green light to travel with the team to Tampa on Saturday upon passing the final stage of the five-step concussion protocol, when he received clearance from an independent neurologist. Lawrence's availability won't be made official until the Jaguars release their inactive list 90 minutes before kickoff, but even after a less-than-full workload in practice this week, he's not expected to face any limitations Sunday.
Dec 23, 2023
Travels with team Saturday
Lawrence (concussion/ankle) traveled with the Jaguars on Saturday ahead of Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers, John Oehser of the team's official site reports.

Per Oehser, head coach Doug Pederson noted Friday that Lawrence needed to clear the NFL's concussion protocol in order to travel, so it appears as though the QB is trending toward starting Sunday's 4:05 ET game, in the absence of any setbacks. Lawrence missed practice Wednesday and Thursday before logging a limited session Friday and then being officially listed as questionable on the Jaguars' final Week 16 injury report.
Dec 23, 2023
Clears protocol, per report
Lawrence (concussion/ankle) has reportedly cleared the NFL's concussion protocol and is in line to travel with the Jaguars ahead of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
After having not practiced Wednesday or Thursday, Lawrence was listed as a limited participant in Friday's session and questionable for Sunday's contest. With Lawrence now having cleared concussion protocol, per Rapoport, the QB is trending toward being available for Sunday's 4:05 ET contest, barring any setbacks.
Dec 22, 2023
Listed as questionable for Sunday
Lawrence (concussion/ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
After not practicing Wednesday and Thursday, Lawrence was listed as a limited participant in Friday's session. However, the QB is still in the NFL's concussion protocol at this stage. With that in mind, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com relays that coach Doug Pederson indicated Friday that if Lawrence isn't cleared by the time the Jaguars leave for Tampa Bay on Saturday afternoon he won't travel with the team. In the event that Lawrence is deemed unavailable, C.J. Beathard would be in line to start in his place versus the Buccaneers.
Dec 22, 2023
In line to practice Friday
Lawrence (concussion/ankle) is slated to practice Friday, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With regard to what Lawrence is in line to do in his return to the field after missing practice Wednesday and Thursday, coach Doug Pederson noted Friday, "we'll give him as much as we can" and what he can tolerate. While Lawrence's looming return to practice is a big step forward, he still needs to progress fully through the NFL's concussion protocol in order to gain clearance to start Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers.
Dec 21, 2023
Misses another practice
Lawrence (concussion/ankle) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence, who didn't practice Wednesday, either, thus has one more opportunity to get some on-field work in ahead of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. If the Jaguars' franchise QB doesn't gain clearance for the contest, C.J. Beathard would be in line to start in his place Week 16.
Dec 20, 2023
Not spotted at Wednesday's practice
Lawrence (concussion) isn't practicing Wednesday, Juston Lewis of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was placed in the NFL's five-step concussion protocol after this past Sunday's 23-7 loss to the Ravens. He'll have two more opportunities to return to practice this week, but even if he ends up participating fully by Friday, he'll still need to gain clearance from an independent neurologist if he's to have a chance at playing Sunday against the Buccaneers. If Lawrence is forced to miss a start for the first time in his NFL career, C.J. Beathard would be the next man up under center.
Dec 20, 2023
Still in concussion protocol
Coach Doug Pederson noted Wednesday that Lawrence remains in the NFL's concussion protocol, but is "progressing well," Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It remains to be seen how much, if at all, Lawrence will be able to participate in Wednesday's practice, but if Jacksonville's franchise QB is unable to gain clearance ahead of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, C.J. Beathard would be in line to fill in for Lawrence this weekend. Meanwhile, the Jaguars bolstered their signal-caller depth in advance of Week 16 action by adding E.J. Perry to their practice squad.
Dec 18, 2023
Enters concussion protocol
Coach Doug Pederson said after Sunday's 23-7 loss to the Ravens that Lawrence has entered the NFL's concussion protocol, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence took a big hit at the end of a scramble on Jacksonville's last possession. He finished the game but was evaluated for a concussion after the game and has subsequently been placed in concussion protocol, which implies that the post-game evaluation confirmed a concussion. If Lawrence is unable to clear the league's five-step concussion protocol in time to face the Buccaneers in Week 16, backup C.J. Beathard would be in line for his first start of the season in a pivotal game for the 8-6 Jaguars.
Dec 18, 2023
Improved play despite taking loss
Lawrence (ankle) completed 25 of 43 pass attempts for 264 yards and a touchdown while rushing four times for 41 yards and losing two fumbles in Sunday's 23-7 loss to the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence started his second game since suffering a high-ankle sprain -- an injury that usually takes anywhere from four to eight weeks to fully heal -- and the results were a step forward from his three-interception dud a week ago. The 24-year-old showed good pocket movement on his lone touchdown pass in the third quarter when he smoothly executed a fake handoff before planting his feet and delivering a deep dime to Jamal Agnew. Lawrence did get charged with two turnovers after failing to recover either of his forced fumbles Sunday. With another week free of setbacks under his belt, Lawrence should be good to go against Tampa Bay next Sunday even if he is limited during team practices.
Dec 13, 2023
Opens week with full practice
Lawrence (ankle) was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence's ability to take every practice rep Wednesday indicates that he experienced no setbacks with his right high-ankle sprain coming out of Sunday's 31-27 loss to Cleveland. The quarterback told Juston Lewis of The Florida Times-Union as much prior to Wednesday's practice, noting that he made it out of the Week 14 "pretty clean" and felt as though he moved around the pocket well. Lawrence threw three interceptions and struggled with accuracy (28 completions on 50 attempts) against Cleveland, but with the injury now further in the rear-view mirror, he could be a decent bet to bounce back this Sunday versus Baltimore.
Dec 10, 2023
Three picks in loss
Lawrence (ankle) completed 28 of his 50 pass attempts for 257 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions in Sunday's 31-27 loss to the Browns. He added three rushes for 11 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence suffered a high-ankle sprain in Monday's loss to the Bengals, yet he still managed to take the field six days later. Unsurprisingly, he didn't look to be playing at 100 percent, as he threw multiple interceptions in a game for only the second time this season and was also sacked four times. It wasn't all bad, however, as Lawrence also found the end zone three times, connecting twice with Evan Engram and once with Parker Washington. While he'll likely be under center once again in Week 15, the matchup won't get any easier, as the Jaguars are set to face the Ravens.
Dec 10, 2023
Confirmed as Sunday starter
Lawrence (ankle) will start Sunday's game against the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence -- who is dealing with a right high-ankle sprain -- approached the contest listed as questionable after logging limited practices Thursday and Friday, but he'll be in uniform Sunday and will thus have an opportunity to play through his ankle issue, while facing a tough Cleveland defense that is allowing a league-low 153.4 passing yards per game. Meanwhile, C.J. Beathard, who had been managing a non-throwing shoulder issue and didn't carry a Week 14 injury designation, is on hand to step in should Lawrence suffer any in-game setbacks. Through 12 starts this season, Lawrence has led Jacksonville to an 8-4 record, while logging 3,004 passing yards and a 14:7 TD:INT ratio in that span.
Dec 9, 2023
Trending toward playing Sunday
The Jaguars are planning for Lawrence (ankle) to start Sunday against Cleveland, but a final decision will come after he works out in pregame warmups, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence suffered a right high-ankle sprain in Monday's overtime loss to Cincinnati, so his ability to suit up six days later would be an impressive feat considering that the injury often results in a multi-week absence. The star quarterback finished Week 14 prep with a pair of limited practices following a DNP on Wednesday and entered the weekend with a questionable designation, so it's not yet a certainty that he'll be cleared to play if things don't get well in warmups. If Lawrence does suit up, it will be a big boost to the entire Jaguars pass-catching corps, which will be without Christian Kirk (IR - groin) for the first time this season.
Dec 8, 2023
Questionable for Sunday's game
Lawrence (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns after practicing in a limited fashion both Thursday and Friday.
ANALYSIS
Per Michael DiRocco of ESPN, coach Doug Pederson indicated Friday that the Jaguars will wait until Sunday before deciding whether Lawrence -- who is dealing with a right high ankle sprain -- will get the start versus Cleveland. Fortunately for those considering Lawrence in Week 14 fantasy lineups, Jacksonville kicks off at 1:00 ET on Sunday, but if the team's franchise signal caller is unavailable, C.J. Beathard (left shoulder), who doesn't carry an injury designation, would be in line to face the Browns.
Dec 8, 2023
Likely game-time decision
Coach Doug Pederson noted that the status of Lawrence (ankle) for Sunday's game against the Browns will likely hinge on how the QB does in practice Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
With Lawrence dealing with a high-ankle sprain, Pederson answered "probably so" when asked if the Jaguars' franchise signal-caller will be a game-time decision for Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff. Considering that, Lawrence is trending toward heading into the weekend with an official 'questionable' Week 14 injury designation.
Dec 7, 2023
Returns to limited practice
Lawrence (ankle) was limited at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence is dealing with a high ankle sprain, but after missing Wednesday's session, the QB's ability to practice a day later -- albeit in a limited capacity -- offers hope that he could play through the issue this weekend against the Browns. Unless Lawrence is able to practice fully Friday, however, he figures to approach Sunday's 1:00 ET contest with an injury designation.
Dec 7, 2023
Spotted at practice
Lawrence (ankle) was present for practice Thursday, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per DiRocco, Lawrence noted Wednesday that his right ankle felt much better than he anticipated it would two days after suffering a high ankle sprain. While the QB didn't appear to do every drill Thursday, he did warm up and do some throwing. The Jaguars' upcoming injury report will clarify Lawrence's official participation level, in any case.
Dec 6, 2023
Not practicing
Lawrence (ankle) won't practice Wednesday, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence never stood a chance to practice Wednesday after exiting Monday's loss to the Bengals with what was later diagnosed as a high ankle sprain. The Jaguars haven't ruled him out for Sunday's game against Cleveland, but it'll be surprising if he's able to play. C.J. Beathard is Jacksonville's backup quarterback.
Dec 5, 2023
Diagnosed with high-ankle sprain
Coach Doug Pederson said Tuesday that Lawrence suffered a high-ankle sprain during Monday's 34-31 overtime loss to the Bengals, Mark Long of the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was bent backwards as he was taken to the ground in the fourth quarter Monday and was in clear discomfort as he attempted to get to his feet. He then needed assistance to make his way to the locker room, after which X-rays were returned negative. Tuesday's MRI revealed the severity of the injury, and Pederson added that the Jaguars "will see where he is in a couple days" before potentially making a ruling on his status for a Week 14 road matchup with the Browns. It's notable that Pederson is delaying ruling out Lawrence for Sunday's game, but C.J. Beathard will sub in for Lawrence if the latter ultimately isn't able to go.
Dec 5, 2023
May have avoided serious injury
The Jaguars are optimistic that Lawrence (ankle) may have avoided a serious injury after departing Monday's 34-31 overtime loss to the Bengals early, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence is set to undergo further medical testing Tuesday, so it shouldn't be long before Jacksonville releases an official update on the star quarterback's health. He exited Monday's game early after LT Walker Little (hamstring) stepped on his right ankle, followed by a Cincinnati defender bending the quarterback awkwardly. C.J. Beathard then stepped into the lineup, and he would presumably be called upon to start Week 14 versus the Browns if Lawrence ultimately can't go.
Dec 4, 2023
Set for MRI on Tuesday
Larence (ankle) will undergo an MRI on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence exited Monday's game due to a left ankle sprain that he sustained when Jaguars tackle Walker Little (hamstring) stepped on the quarterback's right ankle, which was followed not long after by a Bengals defender bending him backwards. No further information on the severity of the injury is expected until Lawrence is evaluated Tuesday. C.J. Beathard replaced Lawrence under center after the latter exited the contest and presumably will do so going forward if needed.
Dec 4, 2023
Heads to locker room
Lawrence is questionable to return to Monday's game against the Bengals due to an ankle injury, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was helped to the locker room by Jacksonville's training staff after Jaguars tackle Walker Little stepped on the quarterback's right ankle and he was bent backwards by a Bengals defender in quick succession. It remains to be seen if Lawrence will be available to reenter the game. C.J. Beathard will fill in under center as long as Lawrence is sidelined.
Nov 26, 2023
Throws for season-high 364 in win
Lawrence completed 23 of 38 passes for 364 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 24-21 win over the Texans. He also rushed twice for zero yards and one rushing touchdown, in addition to throwing a two-point conversion.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence's one-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter came one play after a third-down defensive pass interference penalty in the end zone kept Jacksonville's offense on the field. After failing to post a rushing score through nine games, Lawrence has three rushing touchdowns in the last two games. He also connected with Calvin Ridley for a one-yard touchdown and a two-point conversion to take the lead in the third quarter. Lawrence got off to a slow start in 2023, but he set a new season high in passing yards in this game and has picked up the pace as both a passer and a rusher heading into a Week 13 home game against a Bengals team that's playing without Joe Burrow (wrist).
Nov 19, 2023
Breaks out against Titans
Lawrence completed 24 of 32 passes for 262 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 24-14 win over the Titans. He added five rushes for 17 yards and two additional touchdowns.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence accounted for all four of Jacksonville's touchdowns, connecting twice with Calvin Ridley in the end zone on passes of three and 20 yards. He also found the end zone twice on the ground -- his first rushing scores of the season -- from nine and five yards away. The performance marked only the third time this season that Lawrence has tallied multiple scores, and he also chipped in strong efficiency through the air by averaging 8.2 yards per attempt. The latter is particularly positive, as Lawrence pushed the ball down the field accurately by completing five passes of at least 20 yards -- matching his season high. A similar performance may be needed in Week 12 as the Jaguars travel to Houston for a pivotal divisional matchup.
Nov 12, 2023
Shut down by 49ers
Lawrence completed 17 of 29 passes for 185 yards and two interceptions in Sunday's 34-3 loss to the 49ers. He also rushed twice for seven yards and lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was under duress throughout against a San Francisco defensive line that sacked him five times. Still, the quarterback shoulders a substantial portion of the blame for the blowout loss, as the Jaguars scored a season-low three points and two of Lawrence's three turnovers came in 49ers territory. Lawrence will have a nice opportunity to bounce back in Week 11 against the Titans, but his 9:6 TD:INT through nine games is disappointing.
Oct 29, 2023
Just shy of 300 yards in win
Lawrence (knee) completed 24 of 32 passes for 292 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 20-10 win over Pittsburgh. He added one rushing attempt for 10 yards.
ANALYSIS
With Jacksonville leading 6-0 and looking for more, Lawrence was picked off in the end zone on 1st-and-goal. Lawrence finally got the offense into the end zone with a 56-yard touchdown pass to Travis Etienne in the third quarter, but that was his only touchdown pass of the afternoon, as Lawrence has a modest 9:4 TD:INT heading into Jacksonville's Week 9 bye after posting a 25:8 TD:INT last season. The 24-year-old quarterback came eight yards shy of his second 300-yard performance of 2023 after reaching that mark four times in 2022.
Oct 29, 2023
Active against Pittsburgh
Lawrence (knee) is active Week 8 against the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence entered the week officially listed as questionable after logging limited practice sessions each day, but the expectation leading up to Sunday was that he'd once again suit up. Although his knee issue is said to have improved, Lawrence will once again play while sporting a protective brace. He was productive in Week 7 on Thursday Night Football despite not playing at 100 percent, completing 69 percent of his passes and throwing for a touchdown in the win over New Orleans. This week, he'll face a Pittsburgh defense that is allowing the eighth-fewest passing yards per game (192.2).
Oct 29, 2023
Plans to wear knee brace again
Lawrence, who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers, is on track to start but will wear a protective brace on his sprained left knee, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Palmer, Lawrence feels better than he did Week 7, when he faced the Saints in a Thursday night game just four days after spraining the knee late in a 37-20 win over the Colts on Oct. 15. Despite playing through the knee injury, Lawrence completed 20 of 29 attempts for 204 yards and a touchdown while notably setting season highs in carries (eight) and rushing yards (59) in the Jaguars' 31-24 win over New Orleans. Even with a longer turnaround to recover from the knee injury, Lawrence wasn't able to upgrade from limited to full practice participation this week, but his production against the Saints should offer encouragement about his chances of continue to perform for fantasy managers in Pittsburgh. Lawrence will then have more ample time to rest his knee when the Jaguars go on bye Week 9.
Oct 27, 2023
Listed as questionable for Sunday
Lawrence (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was limited at practice all week, as he continues to manage a knee issue that he played through in Week 7 while sporting a knee brace. So far, there's been nothing to suggest that his status for this weekend's contest is any danger, with the QB's availablity slated to be confirmed prior to the first wave of games Sunday, with Jacksonville kicking off at 1:00 ET.
Oct 26, 2023
Another limited practice
Lawrence (knee) remained limited at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was also limited Wednesday, but so far there's nothing to suggest that the QB is in danger of missing Sunday's contest against the Steelers. However, Lawrence will probably need to deemed a full practice participant Friday in order to head into the weekend without an injury designation.
Oct 25, 2023
Logs limited practice
Lawrence (knee) was limited at practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence approached this past Thursday's win over the Saints listed as questionable, but was able to play though his knee issue while sporting a knee brace. That's something the QB expects to do once again this Sunday against the Steelers, per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network. Lawrence last practiced fully in Week 6, and he'll need to do so by Friday in order to avoid an injury designation ahead of the weekend.
Oct 19, 2023
Plays well despite injury
Lawrence (knee) completed 20 of 29 passes for 204 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions and rushed eight times for 59 yards in the Jaguars' 31-24 win over the Saints on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence's status was in question right up until pregame warmups, but the third-year signal-caller was able to not only suit up, but also compile a season-high rushing yardage figure. Lawrence hit Christian Kirk with a go-ahead 44-yard touchdown pass with just over three minutes remaining, a slant pattern that saw the receiver curl upfield after the catch and outrun multiple defenders to the end zone. Lawrence also remained interception-free for the third time in four games, and he'll now have a few extra days to strengthen his knee before a Week 8 road matchup against an aggressive Steelers defense on Sunday, Oct. 29.
Oct 19, 2023
Active versus New Orleans
Lawrence (knee) is listed as active for Thursday night's game against the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was listed as a limited participant on the Jaguars' practice reports Tuesday and Wednesday and approached the contest officially listed as questionable, but he'll give it a go Thursday after testing things out with his left knee during a pregame workout. If Lawrence, who figures to be sporting a knee brace, ends up suffering any in-game setbacks, top backup C.J. Beathard is on hand to step in, with Nathan Rourke having been designated as the team's emergency third QB. Six games into the 2023 season, Lawrence has thrown for 1,439 yards with seven TDs and three picks to go along with 33 carries for 147 yards. With his Week 7 active status confirmed, Lawrence now is set to square off against a Saints defense that is allowing an average of 182 passing yard per game, which is the fifth fewest in the league to date.
Oct 19, 2023
Trending toward Thursday start
Coach Doug Pederson expects Lawrence (knee) to start Thursday night's game against the Saints, pending the QB's pre-game workout, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Schefter, Lawrence -- who is officially listed as questionable for the contest -- has noted improvement in what the report describes as a mild left knee sprain, and is thus trending toward being available to start Thursday, barring any pre-game setbacks. Either way, official confirmation of Lawrence's Week 7 status will arrive once the Jaguars' inactives are released ahead of the team's 8:15 ET kickoff.
Oct 19, 2023
Looking like game-time decision
The Jaguars will decide whether Lawrence (knee), who is officially listed as questionable, is able to suit up Thursday versus the Saints after he goes through a pre-game workout, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was listed as a limited participant on the Jaguars' practice reports Tuesday and Wednesday due to a sprained left knee, and it sounds like word on his status may not come until Jacksonville's inactive list is posted 90 minutes prior to Thursday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports that the team has expressed optimism about Lawrence's chances of suiting up, but fantasy managers will need to monitor the situation closely considering the short week. C.J. Beathard would be in line to start if Lawrence isn't able to go.
Oct 18, 2023
Gets questionable tag for Thursday
Lawrence (knee) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Saints, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence, who was listed as a limited participant on the Jaguars' practice reports Tuesday and Wednesday, has a chance to play through his sprained left knee Thursday, though his status may not clarified until Jacksonville posts its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the game's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. Per Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com, Lawrence said Tuesday that his knee has been improving rapidly since he suffered the injury in Sunday's win over the Colts, leaving him optimistic that he'll be able to play on a short week. If Lawrence is unable to go Thursday, however, C.J. Beathard would be in line to start in his place. The Jaguars signed Nathan Rourke off their practice squad to provide them with a backup option behind Beathard if Lawrence needs to sit out Thursday.
Oct 17, 2023
Limited, but could play Thursday
Lawrence (knee) was a limited participant in Tuesday's practice, but the Jaguars remain hopeful that he'll be available to play in Thursday's game against the Saints, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com, Lawrence was spotted taking part in individual drills during the open portion of Tuesday's practice, going through his workout while sporting a protective brace on the left knee he injured late in Sunday's win over the Colts. Though Wolfe notes that backup quarterback C.J. Beathard took the larger share of first-team reps Tuesday, Beathard himself told Adam Stites of USA Today that it's "very likely" Lawrence starts Thursday. Lawrence and head coach Doug Pederson should shed more light on the quarterback's status for the Week 7 contest later Tuesday or after Wednesday's light practice.
Oct 16, 2023
Begins week as non-participant
Lawrence (knee) is listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated practice report, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jacksonville held a walkthrough practice Monday, so Lawrence's 'DNP' designation is an estimation. Still, after coach Doug Pederson called the quarterback "day-to-day" per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, that estimation appears accurate. Jacksonville has expressed optimism that the starting quarterback isn't dealing with a long-term injury, but with a short turnaround before Thursday's road matchup against the Saints, it's possible backup C.J. Beathard ends up drawing a start. Lawrence will have two more chances to log some amount of practice activity before being tagged with an injury designation for Week 7.
Oct 16, 2023
Considered day-to-day
Lawrence (knee) will undergo an MRI on Monday but is currently considered day-to-day, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jaguars are cautiously optimistic that Lawrence has avoided a serious injury, and the results of his MRI should reveal more concrete information shortly. Lawrence faces a quick turnaround heading into a Thursday Night Football matchup against New Orleans on the road, but Rapoport reports that the hope in Jacksonville is that the franchise quarterback will suit up. If the knee injury sustained during Sunday's 37-20 win over the Colts were to cause Lawrence to miss time, though, it would fall to C.J. Beathard to steady things under center.
Oct 15, 2023
Will get knee checked out
Following Sunday's 37-20 win over the Colts, Lawrence indicated that he feels okay, but noted that he is slated to get his left knee checked out , Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per DiRocco, Lawrence indicated that he wasn't sure if he twisted his knee but did relay that there is some bruising. On the plus side, the QB wasn't sporting a wrap, sleeve or brace on his leg after Sunday's contest, but with the Jaguars heading into a short week, Lawrence's status will need to be monitored closely as Thursday night's game against the Saints approaches.
Oct 15, 2023
Hurts knee late in game
Lawrence exited late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 37-20 win over the Colts with a knee injury and didn't return, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence sustained the injury when he was sacked with just over three minutes remaining in the fourth. Jacksonville initially listed Lawrence as questionable to return after he was able to walk off the field under his own power, but because the Jaguars were holding a 17-point lead when they got the ball back with 1:45 left in the game, C.J. Beathard ended up taking the snaps for the final possession. During his three-plus quarters of action Sunday, Lawrence completed 20 of his 30 passing attempts for 181 yards with two touchdowns and an interception to go with three carries for 15 yards. Jacksonville plays again Thursday versus New Orleans, so Lawrence's status will need to be monitored closely ahead of the Week 7 contest.
Oct 8, 2023
Tops 300 yards in win
Lawrence completed 25 of 37 passes for 315 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 25-20 win over Buffalo. He also rushed seven times for 31 yards and fumbled three times, losing two.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence threw for over 300 yards for the first time this season and went without an interception for the second straight contest, but he still had trouble with ball security Sunday with three fumbles on five sacks. The 24-year-old was still able to lead Jacksonville to its second straight win, though he'll need to improve his ball security going forward with two interceptions and six fumbles (three lost) through five games.
Oct 1, 2023
Leads Jags to win
Lawrence completed 23 of 30 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-7 win over the Falcons. He also rushed eight times for 42 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence opened the scoring by finding Calvin Ridley for a 30-yard touchdown during the first quarter. Most of his completions went to Christian Kirk or Evan Engram, though, as that duo combined for 15 receptions on 20 targets. Although Lawrence didn't seem to see Kirk on a couple open routes into the end zone, he at least compensated with some production as a runner, at one point gaining 22 yards on the ground. With no turnovers, either, it was a solid display to earn a victory ahead of Week 5's showdown against Josh Allen and the Bills in London.
Sep 24, 2023
Disappointing effort in Week 3 loss
Lawrence completed 27 of 40 passes for 279 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Jaguars' 37-17 loss to the Texans on Sunday. He also rushed three times for 12 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence's final line may have looked aesthetically pleasing from a fantasy standpoint, but the way the game actually played out on the field for the third-year signal-caller was a lot different. Lawrence wasn't sacked and his one pick only led to a Houston field goal that didn't have a significant impact on the game, but he surprisingly couldn't consistently find success against the Texans defense and was also partly saddled with unfortunate circumstances that included a blocked field goal and a fumble. Lawrence also barely avoided a second straight touchdown-less performance when he hit Christian Kirk for a 26-yard score early in the fourth quarter, and he'll now turn his attention to helping the reeling Jaguars upend the Falcons in a Week 4 London matchup.
Sep 17, 2023
Held without TD in Week 2 loss
Lawrence completed 22 of 41 passes for 216 yards without a touchdown or interception in Sunday's 17-9 loss to Kansas City. He added five rushing attempts for 26 yards and fumbled twice, losing one.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence didn't lead a touchdown drive and failed on two crucial fourth downs in Kansas City territory, getting sacked by Chris Jones in the second quarter and throwing an incomplete pass from the 16-yard line on Jacksonville's final possession. After topping 250 yards in eight of 17 games last season, Lawrence has fallen short of that mark twice in as many games heading into a Week 3 home game against the Texans, who held him to 438 yards and a 0:3 TD:INT across two meetings in 2022.
Sep 10, 2023
Leads comeback win
Lawrence completed 24 of 32 passes for 241 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 31-21 win over the Colts. He also added 21 rushing yards on seven carries.
ANALYSIS
Jacksonville was down 21-17 heading into the fourth quarter as Lawrence's offensive line had trouble containing DeForest Buckner and the Indy pass rush, but the third-year quarterback caught fire down the stretch and led the Jags on back-to-back TD drives with less than six minutes left on the clock. Lawrence had a fairly narrow target tree in Week 1, as four Jaguars (Calvin Ridley, Zay Jones, Evan Engram and Travis Etienne) accounted for 23 of his 24 completions. Lawrence will take some momentum into a potential Week 2 barnburner against Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City, in an AFC Divisional Round rematch from last season.

Encouraging effort in finale
Lawrence completed eight of 10 passes for 92 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Jaguars' 31-18 preseason win over the Dolphins on Saturday night.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence got off to a hot start by completing passes of 11 yards to Calvin Ridley and 13 and 11 yards to Luke Farrell as part of a 12-play, 78-yard march, but the possession ended with a Tank Bigsby fumble at the one-yard line. Undeterred, Lawrence came back to helm a 12-play, 80-yard drive on Jacksonville's second possession, one that included a 28-yard connection with Ridley. The 2021 first-overall pick's night was a success overall despite the lack of a touchdown pass, and he'll now turn his focus to a Week 1 AFC South road battle against Anthony Richardson and the Colts on Sunday, Sept. 10.
Aug 21, 2023
On track to play Saturday
Coach Doug Pederson plans to have the Jaguars' healthy starters play in the first half of Saturday's preseason finale against the Dolphins, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports. Lawrence didn't see any action in this past weekend's contest against the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Once Lawrence gets his reps in against Miami, he'll turn his focus toward the team's regular-season opener against the Colts. As the coming campaign approaches, the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft will look to take his game to the next level in his third year as a pro, while helming a Jacksonville passing attack that will be fortified by the addition of Calvin Ridley to a WR corps that welcomes back returnees Christian Kirk and Zay Jones.
Aug 12, 2023
Plays three series Saturday
Lawrence completed five passes for 36 yards and a touchdown, with his only missed throw being an interception in Saturday's preseason opener against Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Doug Pederson said that the starters would be limited to one or two series, but Lawrence wound up playing in three after throwing an interception on his second attempt, resulting in a 32-second first drive. The top pick from the 2021 draft bounced back from the turnover like he did so many times last year, finishing the day on a high note with a TD pass to Christian Kirk. Lawrence also got his new weapon, Calvin Ridley, involved for what is shaping up to be a dynamic passing offense in Jacksonville this season.
Aug 7, 2023
Set to play 1-2 series Saturday
Lawrence and the rest of Jacksonville's starters on offense will play one or two series in Saturday's preseason opener against Dallas, according to coach Doug Pederson, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence should get his first opportunity to build chemistry with wide receiver Calvin Ridley in a game situation. The third-year quarterback will also look to rekindle his connections with running back Travis Etienne, wide receivers Christian Kirk and Zay Jones, and tight end Evan Engram, all of whom are returning from last year's team.
Jan 21, 2023
Inconsistent against KC
Lawrence completed 24 of 39 passes for 217 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Saturday's 27-20 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence led a few long scoring drives, the highlight of which came early in the first quarter on a 10-yard touchdown pass to Christian Kirk (knee). That helped keep the Jaguars in the game, though Lawrence and the rest of the offense ultimately made too many mistakes and played too inefficiently to pull off the upset. His biggest mistake came with just under four minutes remaining in the game, when he was picked off by Jaylen Watson. Despite the letdown to close the campaign, Lawrence took a significant step forward in his second season in the NFL -- highlighted a 25:8 TD:INT across 17 regular season games.
Jan 21, 2023
Playing Saturday
Lawrence (toe) is listed as active Saturday at Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence has been tending to a sprained big toe on his left foot since Week 13, but he's been able to play through it over the last six games, completing 66 percent of his passes for 261.2 yards per game while putting together 12 touchdowns versus six interceptions. He also tacked on a pair of scores on the ground during that stretch. Lawrence now will be facing a Chiefs defense that allowed the most passing TDs (33) to opposing quarterbacks during the regular season.
Jan 19, 2023
Listed as questionable for Saturday
Lawrence (toe) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against Kansas City after practicing in a limited fashion this week.
ANALYSIS
The Jaguars' QB has been a steady presence on his team's injury report since hurting his toe back in Week 13, but Lawrence has continued to play through the issue since then, and there's no reason to expect that to change this weekend. However, official confirmation of Lawrence's availability for the divisional round of the playoffs won't arrive until Jacksonville's inactives are posted ahead of Saturday's 4:30 p.m. ET kickoff.
Jan 17, 2023
Limited in practice Tuesday
The Jaguars listed Lawrence (toe) as a limited practice participant Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
For the past several weeks, Lawrence's practice reps have been managed while he tends to the sprained left big toe he sustained in a Dec. 4 loss to the Lions, but the injury isn't anything that will seriously threaten his availability for Saturday's divisional-round game in Kansas City. After struggling out of the gate this past weekend in the wild-card round with four first-half interceptions, Lawrence showed poise in the second half and guided the Jaguars to a 31-30 come-from-behind victory over the Chargers. He finished the night with 28 completions for 288 yards and four touchdowns on 47 attempts to go with an eight-yard run in the thrilling win.
Jan 15, 2023
Leads massive comeback effort
Lawrence completed 28 of 47 passes for 288 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions in Saturday's 31-30 wild-card round win over the Chargers. He added one rush for eight yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence had a disastrous start to his postseason debut, as he threw four picks in the Jaguars' first six offensive possessions. When the second half kicked off, he had completed only 10 of 24 passes for 77 yards. However, Lawrence led a remarkable second-half comeback, highlighted by touchdown tosses of six, 39, and nine yards while also averaging 9.2 yards per attempt. He won't have the same margin for error in the AFC Divisional round, particularly if the Jaguars line up for a matchup against Kansas City.
Jan 14, 2023
Set for playoff debut
Lawrence (toe) is listed as active Saturday against the Chargers, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence has been no stranger to Jaguars injury reports since early December due to a sprained left big toe. Still, he's been able to suit up for each of the last five games, a stretch in which he completed 114 of 168 passes (68 percent) for 1,279 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions while also rushing 19 times for 80 yards and two more scores. Lawrence may have a tough task on hands Saturday, though, versus an L.A. defense that has allowed more than 200 passing yards to opposing quarterbacks just twice over the last seven contests.
Jan 12, 2023
Listed as questionable for Saturday
Lawrence (toe) is listed as questionable for Saturday night's playoff game against the Chargers after practicing in a limited fashion this week.
ANALYSIS
While Lawrence has been a mainstay on the Jaguars' injury report since hurting his toe in Week 13, he's been able to play through the issue since that time. There's no reason to believe that he won't active and starting this weekend, but Lawrence's official 'questionable' designation does make his status worth confirming ahead of Saturday's 8:15 ET kickoff.
Jan 11, 2023
Logs another limited practice
Lawrence (toe) remained limited at practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence has been an injury report regular since hurting his toe during Week 13 action, but the QB has been able to play through the issue since then and there's no reason to think that will change in the Jaguars' playoff opener against the Chargers on Saturday. Thursday's injury report will reveal whether Lawrence heads into the weekend with an injury designation or fully cleared to face Los Angeles.
Jan 10, 2023
Limited to begin practice week
Lawrence (toe) was a limited participant in Tuesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence has been a fixture on Jacksonville injury reports since spraining his left big toe in a blowout loss to the Lions in Week 13, but there's little doubt that he'll be available to make his postseason debut this Saturday against the Chargers in the wild-card round. While managing the injury for the past five weeks, Lawrence has piloted Jacksonville to a 5-0 record and has completed 67.9 percent of his throws for 7.6 yards per attempt, eight touchdowns and two interceptions to go along with 80 yards and two scores on the ground.
Jan 7, 2023
Helps Jags to AFC South title
Lawrence completed 20 of 32 passes for 212 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Saturday's 20-16 win over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Despite getting the win, it wasn't Lawrence's best performance. He connected with Christian Kirk on a 25-yard touchdown pass just before halftime, but he also missed a wide open Zay Jones in the back of the end zone early in the third quarter. Lawrence also had to rely upon the Jacksonville defense to return a fumble for a touchdown with under three minutes remaining in the game to get the win and take the AFC South title. Nevertheless, Lawrence had an impressive sophomore season, highlighted by 4,113 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions across 17 games. He'll now look to lead the Jaguars on a postseason run.
Jan 7, 2023
Active versus Titans
Lawrence (toe) is listed as active for Saturday night's game against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Though Lawrence was listed as limited at practice both Wednesday and Thursday before being listed as questionable for the contest, there was little doubt regarding the Week 18 availability of the QB, who continues to play through a toe issue. While other signal callers around the league have different things to play for during the last weekend of the regular season, Lawrence and the 8-8 Jaguars will be all-in Saturday, with the AFC South title on the line. Through 16 games to date, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft has recorded 3,901 passing yards to go along with 24 TDs and eight picks.
Jan 5, 2023
Takes questionable tag into weekend
The Jaguars list Lawrence (toe) as questionable for Saturday's game against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Even though Lawrence failed to practice on anything more than a limited basis this week while he continues to manage the lingering toe injury, there's little doubt he'll be on the field Saturday for a matchup with the Titans that will decide the AFC South champion. That being said, fantasy managers in leagues still active for Week 18 that are looking to include Lawrence in lineups will still want to confirm that he's been cleared to play upon the release of the Jaguars' inactive list 90 minutes prior to Saturday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. Since the toe injury first surfaced in Jacksonville's Week 13 loss to Detroit, Lawrence has started each of the Jaguars' last four games, completing 69.1 percent of his passes for 7.8 yards per attempt and a 7:2 TD:INT while adding 83 yards and two scores on the ground.
Jan 4, 2023
Returns to limited practice
Lawrence (toe) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Listed as a non-participant the day prior, Lawrence has been playing through the toe injury for a month while leading the Jags to the brink of an AFC South title. They can complete the comeback bid Saturday night against Tennessee, facing a Titans defense that's getting healthier after some major injury woes in recent weeks. The Jaguars, meanwhile, should have all their starters on offense available, apart from LT Cam Robinson (who suffered a season-ending meniscus injury mid-December).
Jan 3, 2023
Logs DNP on Tuesday
Lawrence (toe) didn't participate in Tuesday's walk-through practice.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence continues to deal with the residual effects of the sprained toe that he sustained during a Week 13 road loss to the Lions. He's also coming off one of his least fantasy-relevant performances of the season, which comes as no surprise after he was pulled early in the third quarter of Sunday's 31-3 win at Houston. Overall, the second-year quarterback completed 17 of 21 passes for 152 yards and an interception in that contest. Lawrence will have two more chances to mix into drills this week as the Jaguars prepare for Saturday's scheduled 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff against the Titans.
Jan 1, 2023
Disappointing numbers in blowout
Lawrence completed 17 of 21 pass attempts for 152 yards and one interception against Houston on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Whether it was just an off day for Lawrence or maybe a vanilla game plan in a meaningless contest isn't clear, but the otherwise surging second-year quarterback presumably hoped to produce more with his playing time Sunday. Then again, the Jaguars won 31-3, so any lack of urgency from Lawrence and/or the Jacksonville playcalling would make sense. There will be a higher cost if Lawrence is similarly sluggish against the Titans in Week 18, but with the division on the line the Jaguars will at least use their full bag of tricks, unlike against the Texans.
Jan 1, 2023
Ready for Week 17
Lawrence (toe) is officially active for Sunday's game at Houston.
ANALYSIS
The QB approached the contest listed as questionable after practicing in a limited fashion Thursday and Friday, but he'll be available versus the Texans for a game in which Adam Schefter ESPN indicates the 7-8 Jaguars don't plan to rest key players ahead of the team's looming AFC South title showdown against the Titans on Week 18. Lawrence heads into Sunday's contest averaging 272.7 passing yards over the past seven games, and he has 14 touchdowns against just one interception during that stretch.
Dec 31, 2022
Set to play in Week 17
Lawrence (toe) is in line to play Sunday at Houston, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Since suffering a sprained toe during a Week 13 loss at Detroit, Lawrence has endured a cap on his practice reps but has been able to play in each of the last three games, completing 77 of 115 passes (67 percent) for 915 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception and running 13 times for 79 yards and two more scores. This week, he followed up a DNP on Wednesday with back-to-back limited sessions before heading into the weekend listed as questionable. While Lawrence is set to continue leading the Jaguars offense Sunday, it won't be confirmed until about 90 minutes before a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 30, 2022
Listed as questionable for Week 17
Lawrence (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans after practicing in a limited fashion Thursday and Friday.
ANALYSIS
Official confirmation of Lawrence's Week 17 status will arrive once the Jaguars' inactives are posted ahead of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff, but at this stage there's no reason to think that the QB won't continue to play through a toe issue that he's managed at practice since Week 14. Per Adam Stites of USA Today, coach Doug Pederson previously noted that he has no plans to rest any of his healthy starters this weekend. With that in mind, John Oehser of the team's official site relays that no matter what happens versus Houston on Sunday, the AFC South title will be on the line in Week 18, when Jacksonville faces Tennessee, while a scenario exists in which the Jaguars could still secure a wild-card spot even if they lose to the Titans.
Dec 29, 2022
Puts in limited session
Lawrence (toe) was a limited participant in practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence took a step up in activity after he sat out Wednesday's session entirely, but he may need to upgrade to full participation Friday to avoid carrying an injury designation into Sunday's game in Houston. Even if Lawrence is listed as questionable for the Week 17 contest, he shouldn't be at much risk of sitting out, as head coach Doug Pederson told Adam Stites of USA Today that he's not considering resting or holding out key players with minor injuries against the Texans. The Jaguars don't have much at stake for Sunday's contest with regard to playoff positioning, as the team's matchup with the Titans in Week 18 will determine the AFC South champion and represents Jacksonville's best chance for a postseason spot rather than a long-shot bid for a wild-card berth.
Dec 28, 2022
Held out of practice
Lawrence (toe) didn't practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The toe injury has impacted Lawrence's practice participation since Week 14 but hasn't stopped him from winning three straight games while recording nine total TDs against three turnovers. Fumbles remain a problem with his 10 being fourth most in the league, though the extent has probably been exaggerated on account of his bad luck in losing eight of them. As for Week 17, coach Doug Pederson said he'll play to win and won't rest starters this Sunday against the Texans, even though the game is essentially irrelevant to the playoff picture and is followed by a winner-take-all bout with the Titans in Week 18 to determine the AFC South champion.
Dec 22, 2022
Efficient in road win
Lawrence completed 20 of 31 passes for 229 yards and rushed seven times for 51 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' 19-3 win over the Jets on Thursday night. He also lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
While the numbers were much less gaudy than during the Jaguars' rousing second-half comeback overtime win against the Cowboys four days earlier, Lawrence was more than effective enough to help lead his squad to a big late-season win in a hostile environment against a high-caliber defense. The 2021 first overall pick focused most on tight end Evan Engram, who he peppered with eight targets. Lawrence completed passes to seven other players as well, and he recorded his third rushing touchdown of the season on a one-yard run with 11:26 remaining in the first half. The second-year pro got his one major mistake out of the way early, fumbling on a sack at his own 19-yard-line on the first possession of the game. With the Jags remaining in the thick of the AFC wild-card picture, Lawrence will now set his sights on a Week 17 divisional road battle versus the Texans a week from Sunday.
Dec 22, 2022
Active versus Jets
Lawrence (toe) is listed as active for Thursday night's game against the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence, who has been working through a toe injury that he sustained in Week 13, had been listed as questionable for the contest, but he'll be out there Thursday, as expected, and will look to build off a fantasy-friendly Week 15 effort in which he completed 27 of 42 passes for 318 yards, four TDs and a pick in this past Sunday's 40-34 win over the Cowboys.
Dec 22, 2022
Cleared to play Thursday
Lawrence remains listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Jets, but he's been cleared to play through a sprained toe on his left foot, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence first picked up the injury in the Jaguars' Week 13 loss to the Lions, but he was able to return to that contest and has proceeded to play at a high level over the past two weeks while leading Jacksonville to wins over the Titans and Cowboys. Even though Lawrence carried a designation into the Thursday's contest, the Jaguars never had much concern about his availability after he practiced in a limited fashion Tuesday and Wednesday. He'll officially shed his injury designation when Jacksonville releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the game's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 21, 2022
Expected to start Week 16
Lawrence (toe), who is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Jets, is expected to be available to start, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rapoport's report doesn't exactly come as a surprise, considering Lawrence has been playing through the toe injury since Week 13 and just threw for 318 yards and four touchdowns against an excellent Dallas defense this past Sunday. Lawrence will face another tough defense four days later, this time on the road and without left tackle Cam Robinson (knee) protecting his blind side. Expect Jacksonville to officially clear Lawrence for the Week 16 contest with the release of the team's inactive list 90 minutes prior to Thursday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 20, 2022
Upgrades to limited participation
Lawrence (toe) was a limited practice participant Tuesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jaguars listed him as a non-participant Monday, though it might not mean much given that they didn't actually practice. Lawrence has played some of his best football while fighting through a toe sprain the past three weeks, but he does face another challenge Thursday night in the form of a stellar Jets defense, four days after throwing for 318 yards and four TDs in a home win over Dallas.
Dec 19, 2022
Listed as DNP on practice estimate
Lawrence (toe) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated injury report, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence has been managing a sprained left big toe for three weeks running, sitting out at least one practice during both Week 14 and 15 prep before getting in some on-field work and heading into back-to-back contests listed as questionable. Still, he was able to play through it, completing 68 percent of his passes for 686 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception while turning six carries into 28 yards and one more score over the last two games. Lawrence likely will have a cap on his reps with a short turnaround for Thursday's visit to the Jets and again may be questionable for that matchup.
Dec 18, 2022
Four touchdowns in comeback win
Lawrence completed 27 of 42 passes for 318 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 40-34 win over the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence led a furious comeback victory, as he took to the air 25 times in the final two quarters while racking up 223 yards and three scores. That led to a career-high four passing touchdowns and his third 300-yard effort of the season. As could be expected, he had a number of highlights throughout the performance, including a 59-yard touchdown to Zay Jones and other long completions of 30 and 27 yards. Lawrence now has at least three touchdowns and 300 passing yards in three of his last four games.
Dec 18, 2022
Good to go Sunday
Lawrence (toe) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence practiced as a limited participant Thursday and Friday to earn the questionable tag, and he'll play through a left toe sprain for the second straight contest. The 23-year-old delivered the best game of his young career last week against the Titans, completing 30 of 42 passes for 368 yards and three touchdowns. He's completed 71.8 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and zero interceptions over the past five games.
Dec 16, 2022
Questionable for Week 15
Lawrence (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
For the second week in a row, Lawrence's status for game day is in question due to the sprained left toe that he sustained Week 13 at Detroit. This time around, though, he managed two limited showings in practice versus last week's single occurrence, so he appears to be in a better spot to continue playing through the injury Week 15. The Jaguars will confirm Lawrence's upcoming availability about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, at the latest.
Dec 15, 2022
Returns to limited practice
Lawrence (toe) returned to a limited practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Last week, Lawrence didn't practice until Friday, so the QB's limited session Thursday bodes well for his availability for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. The Jaguars' final injury report of the week will reveal whether Lawrence heads into the weekend with a Week 15 injury designation, but at this stage there's nothing to suggest that he's in real danger of being unavailable versus Dallas.
Dec 15, 2022
Back at practice
Lawrence (toe) was present for practice Thursday, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence didn't practice Wednesday, but his return to the field Thursday bodes well for his chances of playing Sunday against the Cowboys. The Jaguars' upcoming injury report will clarify whether the QB logged a limited or full session.
Dec 14, 2022
Not practicing Wednesday
Lawrence (toe) wasn't spotted at practice Wednesday, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence missed practice last Wednesday and Thursday before returning to a limited session Friday. The QB was listed as questionable ahead of Week 14 action, but Lawrence was able to suit up for this past Sunday's 36-22 win over the Titans en route to completing 30 of 42 passes for 368 yards with three TDs to go along with three carries for seven yards and a rushing score. With no reported setbacks in that contest, we'll operate under the assumption that Lawrence's reported absence from practice is maintenance-related.
Dec 11, 2022
Posts career day
Lawrence completed 30 of 42 passes for 368 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 36-22 win over the Titans. He added three rushes for seven yards and an additional score.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence posted a career high in yards and total touchdowns while carving up the Tennessee defense. His three passing scores came from 12, 20 and 21 yards, and he completed seven total passes of at least 20 yards. In addition to the damage with his arm, Lawrence managed his fourth rushing score of the season midway through the third quarter on a one-yard scamper. Lawrence will face more difficult defensive tests in the coming weeks -- including matchups against the Cowboys and Jets -- but he has topped 300 yards and thrown for three scores in two of his last three games.
Dec 11, 2022
Suiting up Sunday
Lawrence (toe) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old put in a limited practice Friday to earn the questionable tag, but it's no surprise he's playing Sunday after Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the quarterback was expected to play in Tennessee. Lawrence hasn't thrown an interception since Week 8 and has completed 71.9 percent of his passes for 994 yards and seven touchdowns during that four-game stretch.
Dec 10, 2022
On pace to play Sunday
Lawrence (toe), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Tennessee, is slated to play Week 14, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jaguars managed Lawrence's practice reps during Week 14 prep, capping him at one limited session Friday. Afterward, he told Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com that he felt "good," and now Schefter's report implies that Lawrence will be all systems go Sunday. In the end, though, Lawrence's availability won't be revealed until 90 minutes before a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 9, 2022
Feels good after logging limited practice
Lawrence (toe), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans, noted after Friday's practice that he felt "good," Michael DiRocco of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing practice Wednesday and Thursday, Lawrence logged a limited session Friday, which has the QB trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's contest. Fortunately for those inclined to use Lawrence in Week 14 fantasy lineups, the Jaguars kick off at 1:00 ET on Sunday, so his status will be confirmed either way ahead of the first wave of NFL games this weekend.
Dec 9, 2022
Listed as questionable for Sunday
Lawrence (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday's 1:00 ET game against the Titans after returning to a limited practice Friday.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence logged 'DNPs' Wednesday and Thursday, but the QB's return to practice Friday, albeit in a limited fashion, bodes well for his availability this weekend. Per Michael DiRocco of ESPN, Lawrence previously indicated that he expects to play against Tennessee, and there should be added context with regard to the signal-caller's Week 14 status late Saturday or early Sunday when national reporters such as Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport provide their weekly pre-game injury updates.
Dec 9, 2022
Returning to limited practice
Lawrence (toe) is expected to practice in a limited capacity Friday, Jonathan Jones of CBSSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence has missed back-to-back practices due to a left toe sprain picked up during Week 13's loss to the Lions. The quarterback said Wednesday that he plans to play Sunday versus Tennessee, and while returning to practice in even a limited capacity is a good sign, it appears he may still carry an injury designation into the weekend. Backup C.J. Beathard is available behind Lawrence should the Jaguars need his services Week 14.
Dec 8, 2022
Sits out practice Thursday
Lawrence (toe) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Doug Pederson indicated Wednesday that he thought the quarterback may be able to practice at some point this week, with DiRocco suggesting that could occur Friday, with a shorter workout on tap for the Jaguars. Per DiRocco, Lawrence has said that he expects to play Sunday against the Titans, but it seems likely nonetheless that the signal-caller will enter the weekend with an injury designation.
Dec 7, 2022
Plans to play Sunday
Lawrence indicated Wednesday that his left big toe feels better at this stage than it has over the past few days, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Lawrence missed Wednesday's practice, coach Doug Pederson noted that he believes that that the QB will practice at some point this week. Meanwhile, when asked Wednesday whether he expects to play Sunday against the Titans, Lawrence replied "that's the plan."
Dec 7, 2022
Sits out practice with sprained toe
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Lawrence won't practice Wednesday due to a sprained left big toe, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Shipley, Pederson added that Lawrence is considered day-to-day and "progressing in the right direction" from the injury that forced him out for a spell during this past Sunday's 40-14 loss to the Lions. Lawrence was able to return to the contest and finished the afternoon with 17 completions on 31 attempts for 179 yards and one touchdown to go with 32 yards on four carries. At this stage, Pederson told Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com that he's unsure if Lawrence will be able to play through the injury in the Jaguars' Week 14 game at Tennessee, but the second-year signal-caller will get "mental reps" at Wednesday's walk-through session to keep himself prepared to start if he's able to receive the green light this weekend.
Dec 5, 2022
Will undergo MRI on Monday
Coach Doug Pederson said Lawrence will undergo an MRI on his left foot Monday, but the quarterback is trending in the right direction, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence took a hard hit on the final play of the first half and bent his left leg awkwardly, but he was able to get to the locker room under his own power and was back on the field to start the second half. It appears the MRI is merely precautionary, but the results should provide further clarity on Lawrence's availability for practice this week.
Dec 4, 2022
Gets past injury scare in big loss
Lawrence completed 17 of 31 passes for 179 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Jaguars' 40-14 loss to the Lions on Sunday. He also rushed four times for 32 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence and the Jaguars offense were no match in terms of keeping up with a nearly flawless, high-powered Lions attack, and the second-year signal-caller survived an injury scare on the last play of the second quarter when his leg was bent awkwardly under him on a sack, but he was ultimately able to walk off under his own power to the locker room at halftime and never missed a play. However, he finished with his fourth sub-200-yard passing yardage tally of the season and saw a streak of multi-touchdown efforts snapped at two. Lawrence and his teammates face an uphill battle in terms of trying to bounce back in a tough Week 14 road battle against the Titans.

Throws for three scores
Lawrence completed 29 of 37 passes for 321 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 28-27 win over Baltimore.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence had an impressive performance and managed the third three-touchdown performance of his career. He delivered those scores from 27, one and 10 yards away, the final of which came with only 14 seconds left in the game. It was also an impressive effort from an efficiency perspective, as Lawrence averaged 8.7 yards per attempt and completed five passes of more than 20 yards. Though he's remained inconsistent, Lawrence has multiple touchdowns or topped 300 passing yards in five of his 11 games on the campaign.
Nov 13, 2022
Sharp under duress in Week 10 loss
Lawrence completed 29 of 40 passes for 259 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and added four rushes for 26 yards in the Jaguars' 27-17 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence took five sacks overall, but he still found a way to a very productive fantasy day overall that included a pair of touchdown passes to Christian Kirk. It was the second-year signal-caller's first time since Week 4 with multiple touchdown passes, while his yardage total qualified as his second highest over the last four games. Lawrence will have a chance to continue honing his already solid chemistry with the likes of Kirk, Zay Jones and Marvin Jones during the Week 11 bye ahead of a Week 12 home matchup against the Ravens.
Nov 6, 2022
Guides Jags to comeback win
Lawrence completed 25 of 31 passes for 235 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Raiders. He added six rushes for 53 yards.
ANALYSIS
Even in a comeback effort, Lawrence took a back seat to Travis Etienne in the offense. However, he was effective when called upon, highlighted by a 44-yard run just before halftime that helped set up a field goal. Lawrence also showed a particular connection with Christian Kirk, connecting with him for his longest gain through the air of 23 yards and also for his lone passing score of seven yards. While it was an encouraging performance from Lawrence, he has failed to record multiple passing touchdowns in five consecutive games. On the other hand, he's shown surprising upside on the ground, totaling three rushing scores in that same span.
Oct 30, 2022
Two picks in loss
Lawrence completed 18 of 31 passes for 133 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 21-17 loss to the Broncos. He added three rushes for 15 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence had a tough task facing one of the best secondaries in the league, but the results were particularly ugly. He averaged only 4.3 yards per target and threw multiple interceptions in a game for only the second time this season -- one of which came at Denver's goal line. After starting the campaign with multiple touchdown passes in three of the team's first four games, Lawrence has now failed to do so in four consecutive matchups.
Oct 23, 2022
Held without passing TD by Giants
Lawrence completed 22 of 43 passes for 310 yards and rushed four times for three yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Giants.
ANALYSIS
After benefiting from the NFL's latest controversial roughing the passer penalty, Lawrence snuck over the goal line for a one-yard touchdown on the first drive of the second half to give Jacksonville a 17-13 lead. Another Lawrence sneak attempt early in the fourth quarter was less effective, as he failed to convert a 4th and 1 from New York's 20-yard line. Down 23-17 in the final minute, Lawrence had a sack and an interception erased by another pair of penalties on the Giants, then gained 15 yards on yet another roughing the passer call, but the help from the referees still wasn't enough as the Jaguars fell to 2-5 while Lawrence finished without a passing touchdown for the 10th time in 24 NFL starts. With a stingy Broncos pass defense in town next week, Lawrence's upside as a passer will remain limited in Week 8.
Oct 16, 2022
Two rushing TDs in loss
Lawrence completed 20 of 22 passes for 163 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Jaguars' 34-27 loss to the Colts on Sunday. He also rushed six times for 23 yards and two touchdowns.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence's near-perfect day in terms of completion percentage netted a modest yardage total, but he made up for it with his one- and two-yard touchdown runs. Lawrence connected with eight different pass catchers overall and hit Christian Kirk for a four-yard touchdown pass with 2:44 remaining to cap off an 18-play, 84-yard march, only to see Matt Ryan lead the Colts down the field on 11 plays for the game-winning score. Lawrence now has a pair of sub-200-yard passing yardage tallies in the last three games, an undesirable trend he'll look to break out of in a Week 7 home matchup against the Giants.
Oct 9, 2022
Turnover woes continue
Lawrence completed 25 of 47 pass attempts for 286 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions while adding 29 yards on four carries in Sunday's 13-6 loss to Houston.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence failed to deliver at key points of long drives, which explains his new season high in yards despite leading zero touchdown drives. Last year's first-overall pick didn't have any fumbles after losing four last week, but he threw an untimely redzone interception in the second quarter and ended the game with a second pick on an underthrown Hail Mary attempt. Lawrence has shown a slight improvement over his rough rookie campaign, but the results haven't matched the hype so far from a fantasy perspective. Things won't get easier for the sophomore quarterback, as the Jaguars will take on a stout Indianapolis defense that could have star linebacker Shaquille Leonard (concussion) back by next Sunday.
Oct 2, 2022
Turns ball over five times in loss
Lawrence completed 11 of 23 pass attempts for 174 yards, two touchdowns, one interception and four lost fumbles in Sunday's 29-21 loss to Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence got off to blazing start with two quick touchdowns to put his team up 14-0 in the first quarter. That's where the positive reviews end for the sophomore quarterback, as he was figured out by the Eagles' defense from there on out and watched the game literally slip from his hands (career high four fumbles lost). The 22-year-old appeared to be figuring things out over the last couple of weeks, but Sunday's backslide brings his season averages back down to 236.5 passing yards per game with an 8:6 TD:TO ratio. Lawrence will get an opportunity to redeem himself next Sunday in a soft matchup against the Texans.
Sep 25, 2022
Tosses three TDs against Bolts
Lawrence completed 28 of 39 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 38-10 win over the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
The second-year QB put together one of the best performances of his young career, hitting all three of his top wideouts (Christian Kirk, Marvin Jones and Zay Jones) for scores while also tossing a two-point conversion to Evan Engram. Lawrence is thriving under new head coach Doug Pederson, posting a 6:1 TD:INT through the first three games of 2022, but he'll likely need to stay productive in Week 4 if the Jaguars are going to stay competitive on the road against Jalen Hurts and the Eagles.
Sep 18, 2022
Precise in victory
Lawrence completed 25 of 30 passes for 235 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 24-0 win over the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was sharp early, as he led the Jaguars on a 15-play, 68-yard drive that concluded with a 10-yard touchdown toss to Christian Kirk. The Jaguars jumped out to a big lead from there, so Lawrence was largely asked to manage the game. However, he did well with that task, accurately finding Kirk deep down the field on a few occasions. Lawrence's performances haven't been perfect to begin the season, but he has looked far more comfrotable as a professional quarterback.
Sep 11, 2022
Mixed results in loss
Lawrence completed 24 of 42 pass attempts for 275 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 28-22 loss to the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence and the entire Jaguars' offense got off to a slow start, but sophomore quarterback got things rolling in the second half, highlighted by a 49-yard bomb to Christian Kirk. The 22-year-old was attempting to complete an impressive comeback drive in the closing moments of the contest, but he was harassed in the pocket and threw up a lame duck that was easily intercepted. The lack of protection seemed to be a recurring theme after last year's inconsistent line play. Lawrence's fantasy managers are hoping that the quarterback's protection problems and high rate of interceptions will get ironed out next Sunday against the Colts.
Aug 23, 2022
Won't play this week
Coach Doug Pederson said Lawrence and other starters won't play in the Jaguars' third and final preseason game Saturday against Atlanta, Hays Carlyon of 1010 AM WJXL Jacksonville reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence played multiple drives in both of the first two games, completing 20 of 33 passes for 228 yards and a touchdown and adding 24 rushing yards. His next appearance will be Week 1 at Washington, facing a defense that was one of the league's best in 2020 and one of the worst in 2021. No team allowed more fantasy points to quarterbacks last year.
Aug 21, 2022
Looks good against Steelers
Lawrence completed 14 of 21 passes for 133 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to the Steelers. He also gained 13 yards on the ground.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence played the entire first half and effectively led the Jaguars to a pair of field goals. He showed particular rapport with Marvin Jones, connecting with the veteran receiver for gains of 16, 14 and 10 yards. While preseason statistics can be misleading, Lawrence appears far more comfortable in his second season as a pro.
Aug 18, 2022
Set for more snaps Saturday
Coach Doug Pederson said Thursday that he'd like Lawrence and other starters to play into the second quarter in Saturday's preseason game against Pittsburgh.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was held out of the Hall of Fame Game before completing six of 12 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown in last week's preseason loss to the Browns. He'll face a star-studded Pittsburgh defense for his second preseason appearance, though it isn't clear all of the Steelers' big names will take the field.
Aug 10, 2022
Ready for preseason debut
Lawrence and other starters will play in Friday's preseason game against Cleveland, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Doug Pederson estimated his starters will play a couple of drives, after he held them out of the Hall of Fame Game entirely. Lawrence has job security, of course, but it'd still be encouraging to see him put on a decent performance after last year's disaster of a rookie season.
Aug 2, 2022
Won't play in HOF Game
Lawrence won't play in the Hall of Fame Game against Las Vegas on Thursday, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With Lawrence held out and C.J. Beathard (groin) unavailable, it'll be Jake Luton getting the start and Kyle Sloter coming off the bench. Beathard vs. Luton for the backup job may be the only real competition in the QB room this summer, but it's also a crucial time in Lawrence's career as he prepares for his second NFL season with the help of a new coaching staff. The Jaguars also gave him a bit more on-field help this year, signing RG Brandon Scherff and WRs Christian Kirk and Zay Jones in the offseason. We'll likely see Lawrence in action later this preseason, if only for a few drives.
Jul 5, 2022
Starting fresh in 2022
Jaguars quarterbacks coach Mike McCoy said Lawrence has quickly learned the team's new offensive system and that the quarterback was already "making quicker decisions" by the end of OTAs in June, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2021 No. 1 overall pick endured a difficult rookie campaign during which he completed 60 percent of his passes for 3,641 yards with 12 touchdowns and 17 interceptions, and he also rushed for 334 yards and two touchdowns while losing five fumbles. The typical rookie difficulties were exacerbated by previous coach Urban Meyer's dysfunctional leadership, but Lawrence now has a fully revamped coaching staff, led by new head coach Doug Pederson. Jacksonville also spent in free agency on WR Christian Kirk, WR Zay Jones, TE Evan Engram and G Brandon Scherff, which is a significant boost over his previous supporting cast. Lawrence's outlook is certainly improved heading into 2022 compared to where he finished last season, but it remains to be seen if that results in him being even a semi-reliable option for fantasy managers.
Jan 9, 2022
Shows promise in upset win
Lawrence completed 23 of 32 passes for 223 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 26-11 win over the Colts. He added 10 rushes for 17 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence helped the Jaguars to an upset win and threw for multiple touchdowns for the first time since Week 1 in the process. He showed particular rapport with Marvin Jones, which culminated in a three-yard score late in the third quarter. While the Jaguars squandered good field position to settle for field goals on a few occasions, Lawrence averaged 7.0 yards per attempt and has hit that mark in three consecutive games to close the campaign. That's a relatively low mark when compared to even mediocre quarterbacks around the league, though Lawrence had accomplished that feat only three times in his first 14 games as a pro. His rookie season didn't go as planned, but Lawrence still showed flashes of promise to suggest that he is the franchise quarterback the Jaguars believed they were selecting with the top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Jan 2, 2022
Throws TD, three picks in loss
Lawrence completed 17 of 27 passes for 193 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions during Sunday's 50-10 loss to the Patriots. He added two carries for 16 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence connected with Dare Ogunbowale for a score on a 28-yard screen pass, but it was otherwise another ugly performance from the rookie quarterback and the Jacksonville offense. It was Lawrence's first touchdown since Week 12, but it's hardly worth celebrating given it came late in the fourth quarter with the Jags trailing by 47 points. The 22-year-old will close out the season with another tough matchup against the Colts in Week 18.
Dec 26, 2021
Stuck on one TD in last eight games
Lawrence completed 26 of 39 passes for 280 yards without a touchdown or interception in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Jets. He added 37 yards on six rushing attempts and fumbled twice, losing one.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was bailed out early in the second quarter, as he fumbled on the Jets' one-yard line but the ball was recovered by offensive lineman Will Richardson in the end zone for a Jacksonville touchdown. The rookie first-overall pick racked up his highest passing yardage total since Week 6, but he came one yard short of leading his team to victory, as his 4th-and-goal incompletion from New York's one-yard line in the game's final seconds was the deciding play. This loss has the Jaguars in position to pick first overall for the second consecutive season, barring an upset win over the Patriots or Colts over the final two games. Lawrence will look to end his four-game touchdown drought at some point in those Week 17 and 18 contests.
Dec 19, 2021
Avoids turnovers in loss
Lawrence completed 22 of 38 passes for 210 yards with zero touchdowns or interceptions during Sunday's 30-16 loss to the Texans. He also had five carries for 21 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence took care of the ball Sunday after throwing four interceptions last week, but he averaged just 5.5 yards per attempt as the offense managed only one touchdown. The rookie No. 1 overall pick has thrown only two touchdowns in eight games since Jacksonville's Week 7 bye, which is contrasted by six interceptions and four fumbles (one lost) during that stretch.
Dec 12, 2021
Disastrous day against Titans
Lawrence completed 24 of 40 passes for 221 yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions in Sunday's 20-0 loss to the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was fairly efficient in the first half, as he completed 10 passes on 12 attempts for 93 yards. However, things unraveled in the second half as he threw all four of his picks with Jacksonville pushing to get back in the game. On the positive side of things, he did get the ball to key playmakers such as Marvin Jones, Laquon Treadwell and Laviska Shenault thanks to the fact that he attempted 40 passes. Overall, however, Lawrence continues to struggle in his rookie campaign as he has thrown for zero touchdowns in five of his last six contests.
Dec 5, 2021
Another bad game
Lawrence completed 16 of 28 passes for 145 yards against the Rams on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence and the Jaguars offense tend to do nothing good even against defenses worse than this one, so a dreary outcome like this was to be expected against the Rams. Similarly, there's not much reason to hope for anything good when Lawrence and the Jaguars face the Titans in Week 14, though the matchup is arguably more favorable than the Rams were.
Nov 28, 2021
Throws rare TD on Sunday
Lawrence completed 23 of 42 passes for 228 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Sunday's 21-14 loss to the Falcons. He also had five carries for 39 yards.
ANALYSIS
There was a chance for Lawrence to have a breakout performance against an Atlanta defense that had allowed the fourth-most passing touchdowns (20, tied with the Dolphins and Raiders) entering Week 12 action. But he had a tough time getting in rhythm with any of his receivers, with his top three options (Marvin Jones, Laviska Shenault and Laquon Treadwell) combining to haul in 13 of 24 targets for 129 yards. The 2021 first overall pick salvaged his day somewhat with a seven-yard scoring strike to Tavon Austin in the third quarter, but he now has tossed just four TDs versus two interceptions in his last eight games. Lawrence may have a tough time righting the ship next Sunday when the Jags visit the Rams in L.A.
Nov 21, 2021
Struggles again
Lawrence completed 16 of 25 pass attempts for 158 yards against San Francisco on Sunday, adding three carries for 23 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence managed to avoid turnovers but couldn't generate any yardage until the game was almost over, leading the Jaguars to their only touchdown (a one-yard James Robinson carry) with just about three minutes left in the 30-10 blowout. Perhaps Lawrence can do better against Atlanta in Week 12, but there's not much reason to take the leap of faith given the profound struggles of the Jacksonville offense to this point.
Nov 14, 2021
Struggles with accuracy in loss
Lawrence completed 16 of 35 passes for 162 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and rushed five times for 33 yards in the Jaguars' 23-17 loss to the Colts on Sunday. He also lost a fumble with 50 seconds remaining.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence averaged just 4.6 yards per attempt and completed less than 50.0 percent of his throws for the first time since Week 2 and only his second time as a pro. The first overall pick's fumble on a strip sack at the Colts' 47-yard line with less than 50 seconds left sealed another loss for Jacksonville, ending the game on particularly sour note. The rookie also threw for under 200 yards and went without a touchdown or interception for the second straight contest, leaving his fantasy managers in a lurch. Lawrence continued to struggle connecting with his wideouts as well, as nine of his completions went to tight end Dan Arnold and running back James Robinson. His next opportunity to rectify the various wrongs come in a Week 11 home matchup against the 49ers.
Nov 12, 2021
Set to play Sunday
Lawrence (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's contest at Indianapolis.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence missed six offensive snaps during the Jaguars' Week 9 win against the Bills due to an ankle injury, but he was able to gut it out and complete the contest. The eventual diagnosis was a low-ankle sprain, which limited him in practice Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, coach Urban Meyer told Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com that Lawrence was expected to play Sunday, and after putting in a full session he'll do just that against a Colts defense that has given up a league-worst 23 touchdown passes to quarterbacks this season.
Nov 12, 2021
On track for Sunday
Coach Urban Meyer said Friday that Lawrence (ankle) is expected to play Sunday against the Colts, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jaguars have yet to go through Friday's practice, though Lawrence looks set to play Week 10 if he can avoid a setback. The rookie quarterback was able to return to last week's win over the Bills after suffering the low-ankle sprain, and it appears the injury won't force him to miss any additional time.
Nov 11, 2021
Another limited practice session
Lawrence (ankle) remained limited at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Per Michael DiRocco of ESPN, coach Urban Meyer relayed earlier this week that the QB should be a go Sunday against the Colts. Friday's final injury report will determine whether the signal caller approaches the contest with a Week 10 injury designation or fully cleared to play in advance of the weekend.
Nov 10, 2021
Limited with ankle injury
Lawrence (ankle) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence returned to Sunday's 9-6 win over Buffalo after suffering a low-ankle sprain and likely will continue playing through the injury Week 10 at Indianapolis. It could impact his mobility, though he hasn't provided much of a rushing threat in recent weeks anyway, carrying just eight times for 26 yards over the past three games.
Nov 8, 2021
Expected to play Sunday
Coach Urban Meyer said Monday that he expects Lawrence (ankle) to play Sunday against the Colts, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence sustained a low-ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the Bills but was able to return to the contest. The rookie will undergo treatment in the coming days but doesn't require a protective boot on his ankle. As a result, it doesn't appear as though Lawrence will be forced to miss any additional time due to the injury.
Nov 8, 2021
Reportedly has low-ankle sprain
Lawrence is believed to have suffered a low-ankle sprain during Sunday's upset win over the Bills, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was able to return to Sunday's 9-6 win over the Bills after initially injuring his ankle, so there's some reason to feel optimistic about his chances of continuing to play through the issue. Per Rapoport, Lawrence is expected to be limited in practice this week, but the rookie No. 1 overall pick has avoided any structural damage. The Jaguars will be faced with a road matchup against the Colts in Week 10.
Nov 7, 2021
Slogs through ankle issue
Lawrence (ankle) completed 15 of 26 pass attempts for 118 yards against Buffalo on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence suffered a low ankle sprain during the game, according to ESPN NFL Nation's Michael DiRocco, though Lawrence only left long enough for backup C.J. Beathard to throw two passes. Lawrence and the Jaguars offense were completely overmatched by the Bills defense, but the Jacksonville defense played the hero and willed the Jags to the 9-6 victory. Lawrence might get leadership points for the toughness he showed, but the fantasy situation remains bleak. It will be worth monitoring whether Lawrence shows up on the injury report leading up to Jacksonville's Week 10 game against the Colts.
Nov 7, 2021
Returns to action Sunday
Lawrence (ankle) has returned to Sunday's game versus the Bills, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The rookie signal-caller was deemed questionable to return after going down with the ankle injury, but he's back on the field after a brief trip to the locker room to be evaluated. C.J. Beathard completed both his pass attempts for 33 yards while Lawrence was sidelined.
Nov 7, 2021
Returns to game
Lawrence returned to Sunday's game against the Bills after exiting the contest with an ankle injury.
ANALYSIS
C.J. Beathard briefly took over at QB for the Jaguars, but the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft was subsequently able to return to the contest.
Nov 7, 2021
Suffers ankle injury
Lawrence was forced out of Sunday's game against the Bills after suffering an ankle injury.
ANALYSIS
As a result, C.J. Beathard has taken over at QB for the Jaguars. Prior to his exit from the contest, Lawrence completed 11 of his 15 pass attempts for 80 yards.
Oct 31, 2021
Struggles on the road
Lawrence completed 32 of 54 pass attempts for 238 yards, one touchdown and one interception against Seattle on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The Seahawks defense isn't very talented, but the Jaguars offense is badly bereft of talent and compounds that issue with profound general dysfunction. Not to excuse Lawrence of his mistakes, but pressure and wide receivers drops were both issues. There's still reason to believe Lawrence is a very talented player who will become a star in both real life and in fantasy, but with this collection of players and Urban Meyer at head coach it's beginning to look impossible. It's a near certainty that little or nothing will improve for the Jaguars offense as they face Buffalo in Week 9.
Oct 17, 2021
Tops 300 passing yards
Lawrence completed 25 of his 41 passes for 319 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Dolphins. He added two rushes for 11 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence saw increased pass volume, topping 34 attempts for the first time since Week 1. The result was the second 300-yard performance of his career, which was highlighted by seven completions of at least 20 yards. The only downside to the performance was lack of touchdowns, and Lawrence has no more than one passing score in each of his last five games. Even so, he's started to look more comfortable with the professional game and has averaged 8.1 yards per attempt across his last three contests.
Oct 10, 2021
Two-touchdown showing
Lawrence completed 23-of-33 passes for 273 yards, one touchdown and one interception against Tennessee on Sunday, adding 28 yards and one touchdown rushing.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence's numbers had some encouraging details, including the 2:1 ratio of touchdowns to turnovers, but the Jaguars offense was mostly tamed in a contest where they lost 37-19. The rookie can be forgiven for that given the overall state of the franchise, but for the Jaguars to be more competitive they'll need to get the ball to their best receivers, and that definitely didn't happen here. Laviska Shenault and Marvin Jones each caught just one reception Sunday -- Shenault on three targets and Jones on four. Lawrence might see similarly difficult conditions against Miami in Week 6, even after the Dolphins surrendered five touchdowns to Tom Brady in Week 5.
Sep 30, 2021
Turnover-free effort in close loss
Lawrence completed 17 of 24 passes for 204 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Jaguars' 24-21 loss to the Bengals on Thursday night. He also rushed eight times for 36 yards and a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence lost his duel with fellow first overall pick Joe Burrow, albeit by a much tighter margin than many projected coming in. This year's top selection was particularly impressive during a first half when he led the Jaguars to a surprising 14-0 lead. Lawrence particularly zeroed in on the sure-handed and versatile Laviska Shenault, who he connected with on a team-high six occasions for 99 yards, and he persevered despite losing DJ Chark to a fractured ankle in the first half. While Lawrence and the Jaguars offense fell mostly flat as a whole in the second half, the fact this was the rookie's first turnover-free performance was certainly a step in the right direction. Lawrence will look to carry over the positive momentum into a Week 5 divisional home battle against the Titans a week from Sunday.
Sep 26, 2021
Four giveaways in loss
Lawrence completed 22 of 34 passes for 219 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions during Sunday's 31-19 loss to the Cardinals. He also had six carries for 27 yards and lost a pair of fumbles.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence now has multiple interceptions in each of his first three NFL starts, and he tacked on two lost fumbles Week 3. The rookie quarterback hasn't received much help from the rest of the offense, but ball security is clearly an issue to open his professional career. The Jaguars had only two scoring drives again Sunday, and the offense has scored only three touchdowns over the past two games, while Jamal Agnew has provided a pair of scores in the return game. Given his early struggles, Lawrence isn't a valid fantasy option at this point.
Sep 19, 2021
Two picks in Week 2 loss
Lawrence completed 14 of 33 passes for 118 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions during Sunday's 23-13 loss to Denver. He added two carries for 21 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence threw three picks in his NFL debut last week but still flashed his potential with three scores, and there were significantly fewer positives in Week 2 while completing only 42 percent of his passes. The 21-year-old connected with Marvin Jones for a 25-yard touchdown to finish an 83-yard drive to open the game, but Denver stifled Lawrence and the rest of the offense for the remainder of the contest -- Jamal Agnew scored Jacksonville's other touchdown on a kickoff return. Lawrence may need to show that he's settled in a bit before being a more viable fantasy option heading into a Week 3 matchup with the Cardinals.
Sep 12, 2021
Mixed bag in pro debut
Lawrence completed 28 of 51 passes for 332 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions in the Jaguars' 37-21 loss to the Texans on Sunday. He also rushed once for minus-2 yards.
ANALYSIS
The first overall pick offered a bit of everything in his first taste of regular-season action, interspersing flashes of his undeniable talent with a trio of mistakes that cost the Jaguars. Lawrence was impressive distributing the ball, ultimately connecting with eight different pass catchers and finding DJ Chark, Marvin Jones and Chris Manhertz for his three scoring tosses. However, Lawrence also short-circuited Jacksonville drives at midfield, his own eight-yard line and the Texans' 23 with his trio of picks. Lawrence also didn't get a chance to show off his impressive ground skills and benefited statistically from the Jaguars facing a sizable deficit for a large portion of the game, but he and the Jaguars will look for a more balanced game script in a Week 2 home battle versus the Broncos.
Aug 29, 2021
Sharp in preseason finale
Prior to being replaced by C.J. Beathard, Lawrence completed 11 of 12 passing attempts for 139 yards and two TDs in Sunday's preseason finale against Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Though operating in a context in which numerous starters from both teams were not playing, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft ended his preseason on a high note and will now turn his focus to readying for Jacksonville's Week 1 tilt against Houston. While promising running back Travis Etienne (foot) is out for the season, Lawrence's cause as a rookie will be aided by the fact that he still has a capable top RB in James Robinson to work with, as well as a solid wideout trio (DJ Chark (finger), Marvin Jones (shoulder) and Laviska Shenault) to target in the passing game.
Aug 29, 2021
Expected to suit up Sunday
Lawrence isn't among the players listed by the Jaguars as not slated to suit up for Sunday's preseason finale versus the Cowboys, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
That said, it remains to be seen how much action Lawrence is on tap to see Sunday, but he has already been named the team's starting Week 1 QB, a decision that was followed by a trade that sent Gardner Minshew to the Eagles. Though promising running back Travis Etienne (foot) is out for the season, Lawrence, as a rookie, still has the capable James Robinson to hand off to as well as solid wideout trio (DJ Chark (finger), Marvin Jones (shoulder) and Laviska Shenault) to throw to in 2021.

Named Week 1 starter
Lawrence will start Week 1 against Houston, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The first overall pick hasn't exactly knocked it out of the park this preseason, but neither has Gardner Minshew, who presumably needed a huge summer to make his case for the Week 1 start (if he even had a chance at all). Lawrence has completed 20 of 32 passes (62.5 percent) for 184 yards (5.8 YPA) through two preseason games, with three sacks, no touchdowns and no interceptions. He's carried just once for nine yards, but his work in college suggests he should run for at least a few hundred yards and multiple TDs per season in the NFL. Lawrence will start his career with a soft matchup, traveling to Houston to face the AFC South's other rebuilding team.

Underwhelms in second start
Lawrence completed 14 of 23 passes for 113 yards in Monday night's 23-21 preseason loss to the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence made a couple nice throws that highlighted his mobility, but it otherwise was an underwhelming outing for this year's top pick. Along with getting a few passes broken up by defenders, Lawrence led the Jags to just three points on his six first-half drives. Although Gardner Minshew did slightly better in the second half, completing 13 of 21 for 149 yards, his interception in the opposing end zone won't help his chances of unseating Lawrence to be named Jacksonville's starter. Right now, it's unclear when coach Urban Meyer will make that call, but Lawrence will nonetheless use his final week of the preseason to get as ready as possible for his hotly anticipated debut campaign.

Should play more this week
Coach Urban Meyer said he plans for Lawrence to get more work in Monday's preseason game against the Saints, after the rookie completed six of nine passes for 71 yards last week versus Cleveland, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
Meyer still hasn't committed to Lawrence as the starter Monday night, but offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell acknowledged Thursday that it's likely. While Meyer continues to call it a competition for the starting job between Lawrence and Gardner Minshew, it won't seem like a real contest if the No. 1 overall pick is tabbed to start for a second straight week.

Should start again
Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said Thursday that Lawrence is likely to start Monday's preseason game against New Orleans, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Urban Meyer called it a "decent chance" on Monday, and Bevell is now using slightly stronger language. Lawrence and Gardner Minshew continue to split first-team reps in practice, but it's telling that the rookie is expected to start the Jags' preseason game for a second straight week. Both QBs were average in the opener, and Minshew remains a long shot to get the Week 1 nod.

Starting again next week?
Coach Urban Meyer said Monday that there's a "decent chance" Lawrence starts the Jaguars' second preseason game next Monday at New Orleans, Mark Long of the Associated Press report.s
ANALYSIS
Lawrence started the preseason opener and completed six of nine passes for 71 yards, though he failed to produce any points on three drives, limited by sacks (two for 12 yards) and poor field position. Fellow Jags QB Gardner Minshew also failed to score on three drives, completing four of seven passes for 47 yards before he was intercepted on a hail mary at the end of the first half. Minshew has been getting some first-team reps in practice and is said by Meyer to be competing for the starting job, but Lawrence remains an overwhelming favorite for the Week 1 nod, and he could see extended playing time in the second game of the preseason on Monday Night Football.

Efficient in preseason opener
Lawrence completed six of his nine attempts for 71 yards in Saturday's preseason game against Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence drew the start and was sacked and fumbled on his first play from scrimmage. He did recover from there, completing passes to a number of starting wideouts, including Marvin Jones and Laviska Shenault, on the opening drive. Lawrence's best throw came at the close of the first quarter when he connected down the field with Jones for a 35-yard pass. Though there has been no official announcement from the team, it is presumed that Lawrence will be under center when the Jaguars kick off the regular season against the Texans.

Starting Saturday night?
Lawrence and Gardner Minshew both will play in Saturday's preseason opener against Cleveland, with Jaguars coach Urban Meyer saying he'll wait until Thursday night to determine his starter, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The two QBs are listed as co-starters on the initial preseason depth chart, both getting reps with the first-team offense throughout training camp. While it will still be a big surprise if Minshew ends up winning the Week 1 starting job, it'd be much less surprising to see him under center for the first drive of the preseason opener Saturday night.

Listed as co-starter
Lawrence and Gardner Minshew are listed as co-starters at quarterback on Jacksonville's first unofficial depth chart of training camp, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The two quarterbacks opened training camp splitting quarterback reps with the first-team offense, and it's not a major surprise coach Urban Meyer will continue with that mindset entering Saturday's preseason opener against the Browns. However, Lawrence has made a strong impression early in camp despite the expected rookie hiccups, putting him in a strong position to earn the starting job over the next few weeks.

Shares first-team work with Minshew
Lawrence and Gardner Minshew split QB reps with the first-team offense Wednesday, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Minshew took the first snap with the starters on the first day of camp, but he still appears destined for a backup role in the grand scheme of things. While Jacksonville brass has mostly avoided commenting on the situation, Minshew's recent comments frame it as an open competition between him and Lawrence for the starting job, per independent NFL reporter Dov Kleiman. It remains to be seen if they continue to compete, as it's also possible the Jags will simply hand things over to the No. 1 overall pick at some point.

Inks rookie deal
The Jaguars have signed Lawrence, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, John Oehser of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per ESPN.com, Lawrence's deal, which has a fifth-year option, is projected to be worth $36.8 million, including a $24.1 million signing bonus. The 21-year-old QB, who dealt with a minor hamstring issue in June, should be good to go once training camp opens and is expected to be installed as the team's starter in advance of Week 1. From a fantasy perspective, Lawrence's long-range outlook is bright and though rookie signal callers often take time to develop, the Clemson product is a viewed as a generational talent capable of quickly ascending to pro stardom.

Limited by minor hamstring issue
Lawrence didn't take part in 11-on-11 drills Monday due to a minor hamstring issue that coach Urban Meyer had decided to take precautions with, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It doesn't sound like Lawrence would have been in danger to miss had it been a gameday, especially considering he still took part in the 7-on-7 portion of the session. He still has plenty of offseason to prepare but will likely aim to miss as little as possible as he gets acclimated to the top level of football heading into his rookie season.

Not restricted at OTAs
Lawrence performed well during this week's OTAs and did not seem to have any issue with his non-throwing shoulder, Nick Shook of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Perhaps more importantly, head coach Urban Meyer suggested the No.1 overall pick was "not necessarily on a pitch count", further indicating Lawrence is not restricted in any way after undergoing surgery to address a torn labrum in his left shoulder. The Clemson product is expected to compete with Gardner Minshew for the starting role and likely should be considered the favorite for the job entering training camp.
May 13, 2021
Taking part in rookie minicamp
Lawrence (shoulder) is scheduled to participate in the Jaguars' rookie minicamp this month, but the team will likely limit his activity, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Rapoport, the Jaguars will restrict the amount of reps Lawerence handles mostly as a precaution while he continues to recover from February surgery to address a torn labrum in his left (non-throwing) shoulder). The No. 1 overall pick should be free of restrictions for the start of training camp, when he'll stake his claim to the starting role over incumbent Gardner Minshew.
