Even if that workload split continues following the Falcons' Week 11 bye, Allgeier will likely be little more than a TD-dependent dart throw for the remainder of the season.

Allgeier rushed the ball 12 times for 39 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Vikings. He added two catches for negative nine yards.

Allgeier saw 14 touches as compared to 13 for Bijan Robinson. That was dictated in part by a Robinson fumble that pushed him to the bench for two possessions, but the split in workload would have been close regardless. Allgeier was significantly less efficient on the ground, but he ended up with a five-yard touchdown rush late in the fourth that appeared to clinch the win for Atlanta. Though his workload fluctuates from week to week, he maintains a significant role in the offense.

Allgeier rushed eight times for 31 yards during Sunday's 28-23 loss to the Titans.

With Bijan Robinson (illness) back to full strength, Allgeier saw his fewest rushing attempts since Week 4 and wasn't targeted in the passing attack. It was just the third time the BYU product has garnered single-digit touches this year, but he remains a low-end RB3 who likely needs to find the end zone to deliver quality fantasy production.

Allgeier rushed 21 times for 59 yards and caught all three of his targets for 53 yards in Sunday's 16-13 win over the Buccaneers.

Bijan Robinson (illness) got just one touch, as the standout rookie didn't feel well, per Greg Auman of Fox Sports. With Robinson out of the game plan, Allgeier tied his career high with 24 touches. A 46-yard catch bolstered Allgeier's stat line, but the second-year running back averaged just 2.9 yards on his other 23 touches, while Cordarrelle Patterson rushed for 56 yards on just 10 carries. If Robinson returns to his usual lead role in Week 8 against the Titans, Allgeier will likely see a decline in volume.

Allgeier rushed 13 times for 51 yards and failed to haul in his only target during Sunday's 24-16 loss to the Commanders.

Allgeier tied Bijan Robinson in rushing attempts and was slightly more efficient than the rookie, but the latter still outproduced the former when factoring in the passing game. Allgeier has seen double-digit rushing attempts in four of six games thus far, but he's averaging a measly 3.1 yards per attempt after posting a 4.9 YPC as a rookie last year. Currently, Allgeier is a low-end RB3 who likely needs to find the end zone to deliver quality fantasy production.

Allgeier rushed 17 times for 40 yards and failed to bring in his only target in the Falcons' 21-19 win over the Texans on Sunday. He also recorded a two-point conversion catch.

After back-to-back seven-carry tallies, Allgeier's workload shot up Sunday, with the second-year back even outpacing star backfield mate Bijan Robinson by three totes. Allgeier couldn't get much accomplished with the opportunity as his final line implies, but Robinson was also stymied to the tune of 3.3 yards per carry. While Robinson is clearly the lead option in the ground attack, Allgeier should continue to see his fair share of opportunities most weeks in head coach Arthur Smith's run-centric attack.

Allgeier carried the ball seven times for 16 yards and caught one of two targets for minus-4 yards in Sunday's 23-7 loss to the Jaguars.

For the second straight week, Allgeier's touches were in single digits as rookie Bijan Robinson takes firm control of the Atlanta backfield. Allgeier's done little to win back a bigger workload -- since he scored two TDs in the Falcons' opener, he's averaged just 2.5 yards per carry (76 yards on 30 totes.) However, the second-year back could do some damage even on reduced volume in Week 5 against the vulnerable Texans' run defense.

Allgeier rushed seven times for 12 yards and caught two of three targets for 17 yards during Sunday's 20-6 loss versus Detroit.

Allgeier stood out in Week 1 with two touchdowns, but he's submitted mediocre production in back-to-back games since then. In Week 2, he saw 16 rushing attempts, so there was still optimism about his fantasy outlook even though he didn't find the end zone. However, he saw his rushing attempts cut in half versus Detroit, as the Falcons surprisingly leaned on the pass. It's encouraging that Allgeier was still involved in the offense even though Atlanta abandoned the run, but it appears he may be a touchdown-dependent fantasy option moving forward.

Allgeier rushed 16 times for 48 yards during Sunday's 25-24 win over the Packers

Allgeier saw three fewer rushing attempts than Bijan Robinson, who shined with 172 scrimmage yards on 23 touches. After a stellar season opener, the red flags in Allgeier's fantasy profile were on display against the Packers. The BYU product wasn't efficient. Last week, he averaged 5.0 yards per carry versus Carolina, but he was at just 3.0 versus Green Bay. He also wasn't involved in the passing attack after three targets in Week 1. Allgeier will presumably continue to carve out a role in Atlanta's run-heavy offense, but he's not a strong fantasy option unless he's handling most of the red-zone work.

Allgeier rushed 15 times for 75 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 24-10 win over the Panthers. He also caught all three of his targets for 19 yards.

Allgeier finished with more rushing attempts and rushing yards than Bijan Robinson, and the two running backs accounted for all three of the Falcons' touchdowns. Overall, Allgeier recorded 18 touches for 94 yards, while Robinson finished with 16 touches for 83 yards. Robinson is certainly the more dynamic back, but Allgeier consistently gets the job done and figures to have a solid role in Atlanta's run-heavy attack moving forward. It's also extremely encouraging to see Allgeier involved in the passing game, as he caught three or more passes just three times across 16 appearances last year.

Allgeier carried the ball once for -1 yards in Friday's 13-13 tie against the Bengals in preseason action.

Allgeier was the first back on the field and carried the ball for seven yards on the opening play from scrimmage, though the gain was ultimately washed out due to a holding penalty. He touched the ball only one additional time, which resulted in a loss. Bijan Robinson led the backfield Friday and will do the same when the Falcons kick off the regular season against the Panthers.

Allgeier dominated the backfield work in Week 18, as Cordarrelle Patterson saw just five rushing attempts and three targets. The rookie took advantage and notched his second game of the season with at least 100 rushing yards. In the process, Allgeier eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in his first NFL campaign and will finish with 1,035 rushing yards and three touchdowns to go along with 16 receptions on 17 targets for 139 yards and an additional receiving touchdown. Atlanta may add more running back depth in the offseason, but as of now, Allgeier appears to have proven himself worthy of a solid role next year.

Allgeier rushed the ball 20 times for 83 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-19 win over Arizona. He added one reception for 12 yards.

Allgeier continued his late-season breakout, and he saw a career-high 20 carries in Atlanta's Week 17 win. Though he failed to crack 100 yards, he still managed long gains of 17 and 14 yards while also plunging into the end zone from five yards away early in the second quarter. Since emerging out of a committee to serve as Atlanta's top back in Week 15, Allgeier has combined to rack up 348 total yards and two touchdowns across three games.

Allgeier carried the ball 18 times for 74 yards and caught four of five targets for 43 yards in Saturday's 17-9 loss to Baltimore.

The rookie has now topped 100 scrimmage yards in back-to-back games, and with Atlanta now eliminated from playoff contention, it's likely Allgeier will remain the top option in the Falcons backfield for their final two games ahead of 31-year-old Cordarrelle Patterson, who may not factor into the team's future plans. Heading into a Week 17 clash with the Cardinals, Allgeier has 817 rushing yards through 14 contests, giving him a shot at a 1,000-yard campaign with two games remaining.

Allgeier rushed 17 times for 139 yards and a touchdown and brought in his only target for minus-3 yards in the Falcons' 21-18 loss to the Saints on Sunday.

The rookie running back put together a career-best performance in the close loss, one that was highlighted by a game-long 43-yard scamper. Allgeier also recorded only his second career rushing touchdown on a five-yard run to cap off the first drive of the second half. Allgeier notably outpaced backfield mate Cordarrelle Patterson by three carries, and it remains to be seen if Sunday's performance continues to afford Allgeier the bigger share of the workload in a Week 16 road matchup against the Ravens.

Allgeier rushed 10 times for 52 yards during Sunday's 19-16 loss to Pittsburgh.

Allgeier saw one fewer rushing attempt and recorded eight fewer yards than Cordarrelle Patterson, who ended with 11 carries for 60 yards. The rookie first-round pick ripped off 20 yards on his first touch in the second quarter but was bottled up for the remainder of the game. As long as he continues to split work with Patterson, Allgeier's overall value will be limited, but his consistent work should keep him on fantasy radars, especially in deeper leagues.

Allgeier rushed the ball 11 times for 54 yards in Sunday's 19-13 loss to the Commanders.

Allgeier matched Cordarrelle Patterson for the team lead in carries, and he was fairly efficient with his opportunity. His day was highlighted by gains of 15 and 11 yards, which helped him top 50 rushing yards for the second consecutive game. Though Allgeier has a consistent role in Atlanta's offense, he isn't likely to see a spike in usage barring the absence of Patterson.

Allgeier rushed eight times for 55 yards and secured his only target for nine yards during Sunday's 27-24 win over the Bears.

Allgeier only saw nine touches but was efficient in his limited work. Cordarrelle Patterson only had two more rushing attempts than the rookie, but Marcus Mariota dominated the ground work, rushing 13 times for 25 yards and a score. As expected, Allgeier's role has diminished with Patterson's return, but he remains heavily involved in the offense and should continue to be on fantasy radars.

Allgeier rushed eight times for 20 yards and netted minus-17 receiving yards while bringing in all three of his targets during the Falcons' 25-15 loss to the Panthers on Thursday night.

The rookie led the Falcons backfield in carries on the night, but he was nowhere near as efficient as he'd been in a Week 9 loss to the Chargers (10-99). Allgeier's negative receiving yardage ultimately made a lackluster fantasy night even more forgettable, and the fact head coach Arthur Smith spread the workload on the ground among four backs overall Thursday night muddles the fantasy picture for Atlanta's backfield even further.

Allgeier rushed 10 times for 99 yards and brought in his only target for 24 yards in the Falcons' 20-17 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.

Despite Cordarrelle Patterson returning from his four-game stint on IR due to a knee injury, it was Allgeier who easily paced the Falcons in rushing yards on the afternoon. The rookie did log three fewer carries than his veteran backfield mate, but Allgeier's explosiveness was evident on his game-long 44-yard run and 24-yard reception. It will be interesting to see if Patterson is afforded even more work at Allgeier's expense in Week 10 with a short week ahead of that divisional road matchup against the Panthers.

Allgeier was inefficient on the ground and took a backseat to Caleb Huntley, who finished with 16 rushes for 91 yards -- both team highs. However, the rookie fifth-round pick salvaged his fantasy production by doing damage through the air. Allgeier's three receptions marked his first career game with multiple catches, and his 25-yard receiving touchdown was his second career score. Allgeier could see a reduced role when Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) returns from IR, which could be as soon as Week 9, but Allgeier figures to still be involved in Arthur Smith's run-first offense as long as he continues to churn out yards.

Allgeier carried the ball 16 times for 50 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 35-17 loss to the Bengals.

After splitting work with Caleb Huntley in Week 6, Allgeier took hold of the lead back role against the Bengals by accounting for 16 of the team's 23 carries by running backs. He failed to tally a gain of at least 10 yards, though he did manage a pair of nine and eight-yard rushes, respectively. However, the highlight of his day came on a one-yard plunge into the end zone just before halftime -- the first touchdown of his career. Allgeier has at least 10 carries in five of his six games this season, tallying 50 or more rushing yards on three occasions.

Allgeier recorded 15 carries for 51 yards during Sunday's 28-14 victory over the 49ers.

Allgeier saw one fewer rushing attempt and totaled eight fewer yards than Caleb Huntley, though neither running back saw any work work in the passing game. With Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) sidelined, the rookie fifth-round pick has rushed 23 times for 129 yards while securing his only target for 20 yards over the past two weeks. Both running backs figure to see increased work as long as Patterson remains on injured reserve, but their overall potential will continue to be limited as long as they continue to split carries.

Allgeier rushed 13 times for 45 yards during Sunday's 21-15 loss to Tampa Bay.

Allgeier led the backfield in rushing attempts during the first game without Cordarrelle Patterson, who's set to miss at least four contests while on IR with a knee injury. However, the rookie fifth-round pick struggled to find any running room against Tampa Bay's strong run defense. Caleb Huntley was a little more efficient on the ground, rushing eight times for 34 yards, but Avery Williams syphoned the only rushing touchdown. Allgeier figures to be the No. 1 guy with Patterson sidelined, but Atlanta certainly won't shy away from getting other guys involved, though the Falcons' running backs face another stiff test against the 49ers in Week 6.

Allgeier is set for an expanded role after the Falcons placed Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) on injured reserve Monday, Scott Bair of the team's official site reports.

The injuries keep coming for the Falcons' running back room, which already has Damien Williams (ribs) on IR, so the rookie fifth-round pick may get an extended look as a lead back early in his career. Avery Williams, who was converted to running back this offseason, will likely get a few additional looks as well, but he's been limited to a change-of-pace role to start the season. Through three appearances, Allgeier has totaled 28 touches for 164 yards from scrimmage (5.9 yards per touch), but he'll face a stiff test against Tampa Bay in Week 5

Allgeier rushed 10 times for 84 yards and caught his lone target for 20 yards in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Browns.

The Falcons went with a committee approach to their backfield Sunday, splitting carries between Allgeier (10), Caleb Huntley (10) and starter Cordarrelle Patterson (nine). The rookie did the most with his touches, but the other two backs scored a touchdown each. Patterson (knee) was banged up during practice this week, which could have resulted in the sudden shift in touch distribution. Allgeier will look to build of the best game of his young career in a tough matchup against the Buccaneers next Sunday.

Allgeier tallied six rushes for 25 yards and hauled in his only target for five yards during Sunday's 27-23 victory over Seattle.

Allgeier played 21 offensive snaps, three more than last week when he made his season debut, but he saw three fewer touches as Cordarrelle Patterson dominated the ground game. With Mike Davis (ribs) on IR, the rookie fifth-round pick has emerged as the top backup behind Patterson, while Avery Williams continues to operate in a limited role. Through his first two games, Allgeier has rushed 16 times for 55 yards (3.4 YPC).

Allgeier carried the ball 10 times for 30 yards in Sunday's 31-27 loss to the Rams.

Allgeier was inactive in Week 1, but he made his regular-season debut and tied for the team lead in carries. He worked into the offense early on, tallying three carries on the team's opening drive. Allgeier didn't look particularly explosive, but he could work on early downs and around the goal line moving forward.

The rookie out of BYU made the most of the opportunity, scoring a two-yard touchdown through the air in the first quarter and finding paydirt again from four yards out on the ground in the fourth. Atlanta's backfield appears primed for a frustrating timeshare between Williams, Patterson and Allgeier in the regular season.

Allgeier carried the ball six times for 17 yards in Monday's preseason to the Jets. He added three receptions on four targets for 12 yards.

Allgeier mixed in with Damien Williams while Atlanta's starters were on the field but also stayed in to play with backups. Most notably, Allgeier had a significant role inside the red zone, carrying the ball three times while also tallying two catches on three targets inside the 20. Also of interest to Allgeier's potential role come the regular season, Cordarrelle Patterson lined up at wide receiver for his only offensive snap.

Though Allgeier is listed on the back end of the Falcons' unofficial posted depth chart, Scott Bair of the team's official site notes that's an approach coach Arthur Smith generally takes at this stage of the preseason.

Along with Allgeier, wideout Drake London -- the No. 8 overall pick in the 2022 -- also finds his name down the team's initial depth chart. Last month, Bair projected that Cordarrelle Patterson would maintain his starting RB role, but he also cited Allgeier, Damien Williams and perhaps Avery Williams as candidates to carve out backfield roles this coming season. While it remains to be seen how much of a workload Allgeier is handed early on this season, the fifth-rounder does have the physical presence to provide the team with a complementary option to develop as the season progresses alongside the versatile Patterson.

ESPN's Michael Rothstein suggests that Allgeier will have a chance to make an impact as a rookie in the wake of the team having let go Mike Davis.

The Falcons' running back depth chart is currently topped by Cordarrelle Patterson, a converted wideout, but there's an opportunity for Allgeier to carve out a key complementary role out of the gate, with the fifth-rounder's ability to generate yards after contact having caught the eye of coach Arthur Smith. Damien Williams and Qadree Ollison are also in Atlanta's backfield mix, but Smith adds that "the opportunity is there (for Allgeier). The running back room is wide open." With that in mind, Rothstein hints that it's possible that the BYU product could make a run at the team's Week 1 starting nod, but such an outcome would presumably hinge on the 5-foot-11, 224 pound Allgeier impressing the coaching staff this summer and/or injuries coming into play.

Allgeier will compete with Damien Williams and Qadree Ollison for touches after the release of Mike Davis, Josh Kendall of the Athletic reports.

Allgeier was selected by the Falcons in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft in what was a surprising move given Atlanta also signed Williams and were returning a trio of running backs. However, the pick makes more sense after the dismissal of the veteran Davis. Cordarrelle Patterson likely will lead the backfield once again, but Williams, Allgeier and Ollison will likely all get opportunities throughout the season, especially if Atlanta opts for a run-heavy offense with Marcus Mariota at the helm.

The Falcons selected Allgeier in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 151st overall.

Allgeier (5-foot-10, 224 pounds) is an extremely Arthur Smith-style back out of BYU, where he routinely ripped off big plays over the last two years as a power runner. It's difficult to explain just how he did it given a relative lack of speed (4.64-second 40), but Allgeier was unstoppable as he ran for 2,731 yards and 42 touchdowns from 2020 to 2021, averaging 6.4 yards per carry. He can't imitate the functions of Cordarrelle Patterson, but Allgeier is absolutely a threat to Damien Williams and Mike Davis.
