Such depth charts need to be taken with a grain of salt, considering they're put together by media relations staff. Nevertheless, it's somewhat notable to see him and not Greg Dortch listed among the starters, especially after the former managed just eight catches and 240 offensive snaps in 11 games last season (as opposed to Dortch's 37 and 407, respectively, in 17 contests). Dortch operates primarily out of the slot, though, so the fact he's listed as the No. 2 behind Michael Wilson (concussion) indicates Wilson may have more of an even split between outside and slot reps in 2025. In such a scenario, Jones could take advantage as an outside option alongside No. 1 Marvin Harrison (knee/illness).

The 27-year-old played similar snaps to Christian Kirk and Marvin Jones in the season opener but was the clear No. 3 wideout Sunday with Jacksonville leading by multiple scores for most of the game. Jones has caught nine of 13 targets for 88 yards through two games, and the game script could be more favorable in Week 3 against the Chargers.

Jones hauled in six of nine targets for 65 yards in Sunday's 28-22 loss to Washington.

The chemistry Jones and Trevor Lawrence developed in the preseason carried over into Week 1. The other Jones in this receiving unit, Marvin Jones, finished third in targets (four receptions for 38 yards). Zay could develop more fantasy value this season if he can leapfrog his veteran teammate and become the second receiving option behind Christian Kirk (six receptions for 117 yards). Jones and the Jaguars will take on the Colts next Sunday.

Jones, Marvin Jones and Christian Kirk have seen most of the first-team snaps, with Laquon Treadwell mixing in as the top backup on the perimeter. There have been multiple reports about (Zay) Jones seeing a lot of looks downfield, which is perhaps a surprise after he did his best work in shallower areas for Las Vegas last year. Jones did see his share of deep looks with the Raiders, but he caught only four of 16 targets 20-plus yards downfield (with four others being intercepted), while he was far more efficient on intermediate passes (14 of 21 for 209 yards) and short throws (21 of 24 for 168), per PFF.

Jones won't play in the Hall of Fame Game against the Raiders on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The teams chosen to appear in this exhibition rarely play starters or even regulars on both sides of the ball. Along with Jones, Christian Kirk, Marvin Jones, Laviska Shenault and Jamal Agnew won't suit up, leaving Laquon Treadwell, Tim Jones, Jeff Cotton, Kevin Austin and Marvin Hall, among others, available to the Jaguars at wide receiver.

The Jaguars and Jones agreed to a three-year contract Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

This marks the second wide receiver to ink a deal with Jacksonville to open free agency after Christian Kirk landed a massive four-year deal earlier Monday. A second-round pick of the Bills back in 2017, Jones joins the third organization of his career, coming off a 47-546-1 line on 70 targets with the Raiders last season. He'll likely vie with Laviska Shenault for the No. 3 WR spot behind Kirk and Marvin Jones.

Jones caught five passes for 61 yards and one touchdown on eight targets against Cincinnati on Saturday.

It's another encouraging entry in what's been an impressive breakout season for Jones. After playing sparingly in the first seven weeks the Raiders upped Jones' workload and usage following the Week 8 bye, from which point he saw 71 targets in the next 11 games, including this playoff game. Jones is a former second-round pick who dominated at the collegiate level and has 4.45 speed, so the way he played in 2021 is more in line with what his career expectations were all along.

Jones caught five of eight targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 35-32 overtime win over the Chargers.

Jones finished the regular season with 47 receptions for 546 yards and a touchdown on 70 targets in 17 contests, enjoying his best receiving totals since a 2018 campaign with the Bills that included 56 catches and seven scores. The 26-year-old saw his role within the Raiders' aerial attack expand against the Cowboys in Week 12 when he caught more than two passes in a single game for the first time all season, and Jones ultimately averaged 7.7 targets per tilt over the team's final seven games. Jones, who's slated to enter unrestricted free agency in 2022, should remain busy in a wild-card matchup against the Bengals this week.

Jones recorded eight receptions on 10 targets for 120 yards in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Colts.

Jones maintained a strong role in Raiders' offense, tallying at least five receptions for the fifth time in his last six games. However, he also displayed some big-play ability that was lacking in past performances, recording long gains of 42, 26 and 13 yards to surpass 100 receiving yards in a game for the first time in his career. Though he hasn't displayed much potential for big performances, Jones has developed rapport with quarterback Derek Carr and remains heavily involved in the gameplan heading into a Week 18 matchup against the Chargers.

Jones caught six of eight targets for 50 yards in Sunday's 17-13 win over the Broncos.

He was Derek Carr's favorite option on the afternoon, leading the Raiders in receptions and targets, although Foster Moreau led the team in yards and Hunter Renfrow hauled in Carr's only TD. Jones has put together a 25-222-0 line on 36 targets over the last five games, giving him some deep-league PPR value heading into a Week 17 clash with the Colts.

Jones (toe) was cleared from the injury report Friday and will play in Sunday's game against Denver.

Jones is coming off season highs for catches (six), yards (67) and targets (nine) in last week's 16-14 win over Cleveland. He hasn't scored a TD since Week 1 and hasn't come close to a 100-yard game, but he does have four in a row with five or more targets and three or more catches.

Jones (toe) practiced in limited fashion Thursday, George Stoia of The Denver Gazette reports.

This is a step in the right direction for Jones, who sat out Wednesday's walkthrough due to this injury. If Jones is able to upgrade to full participation Friday, the starting wide receiver could avoid Friday's injury report altogether ahead of Sunday's game against the Broncos.

Jones presumably picked up the injury during Monday's win over the Browns while catching six of nine targets for 67 yards. The 26-year-old has played a significant role in the Raiders' receiving corps since the Week 8 bye, and he may need to practice in some capacity Thursday or Friday to have a chance of suiting up this weekend versus Denver.

Jones tied Foster Moreau for the team lead in targets and bested Moreau by two receiving yards for the team lead. His most important catch was his last one, as Jones' 15-yard snag set up Daniel Carlson's game-winning 48-yard field goal as time expired. Jones has stepped up recently for the receiver-starved Raiders -- he has 19 catches in his last four games and had just nine all season before this strong stretch.

Jones and the Raiders will no longer play the Browns on Saturday, after the NFL officially rescheduled the matchup between the two teams for Monday at 5 p.m. ET.

Due to ongoing COVID-19-related issues within the Cleveland organization, the NFL is hopeful that by delaying the game two days, the Browns will restore enough players from the reserve/COVID-19 list to alleviate depth concerns on the roster. Assuming the Week 15 game is played Monday as planned, Jones and Las Vegas will face a quick turnaround for its Week 16 contest versus the Broncos, which is still expected to be played Sunday, Dec. 26 as scheduled.

Jones recorded five receptions on seven targets for 25 yards in Sunday's 48-9 loss to the Chiefs.

Jones finished second on the team with seven targets, behind only Hunter Renfrow. Despite converting a high rate of his targets into receptions, Jones was limited to only 3.6 yards per target to turn in a disappointing performance. Jones has now seen at least five targets in three consecutive games, though he's topped 50 yards only once in that span and has not found the end zone since Week 1.

Jones caught three of five targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 17-15 loss to Washington.

He and Bryan Edwards put up nearly identical numbers, but both took a back seat to another 100-yard performance by Hunter Renfrow. Jones has seen an uptick in volume the last two weeks, posting an 8-80-0 line on 12 targets as the Raiders scramble to plug the holes in their passing game, and his new role gives him some modest upside in Week 14 against Kansas City.

Jones hadn't caught more than one pass in a single contest since Week 1, but his five receptions against the Cowboys were a personal best in his time with the Raiders. Despite the recent addition of fellow wide receiver DeSean Jackson, Jones continues to see a significant offensive snap share alongside Bryan Edwards and Hunter Renfrow. Meanwhile, tight end Darren Waller (knee) is considered week-to-week, potentially opening up additional target opportunities for the aforementioned receiving corps versus Washington in Week 13.

Jones caught one of two targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 32-13 loss to the Bengals.

Jones' offensive snap share surpassed the 70-percent mark for a third straight week, but he was held without a reception until the Raiders' penultimate drive of the game. On a more positive note, each of Jones' last four catches have gone for 20 or more yards. However, Jones could see his opportunities diminish soon if newcomer DeSean Jackson becomes more involved in the offense.

Jones caught one of three targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 41-14 loss to the Chiefs.

Jones paced the Raiders' wide receiver corps in offensive snap share for a second straight week, but the ample playing time has translated to just two total receptions for 44 yards on seven targets during this two-game stretch. The newly-acquired DeSean Jackson coughed up the ball after hauling in a 38-yard pass, but he was otherwise relatively uninvolved in his Las Vegas debut. Nonetheless, Jackson's ability to stretch the field figures to earn him more opportunities as he settles into the offense, which probably doesn't bode well for Jones' already modest target volume.

Jones recorded one reception on four targets or 20 yards in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Giants.

Jones was one of three Raiders pass catchers to rack up four targets, though he wasn't efficient in his performance. His only catch came midway through the third quarter and it help set up a field goal for the team. It was only his third game with multiple targets this season, though the anticipated addition of DeSean Jackson may cut into his ability to continue to see volume moving forward.

The Raiders list Jones as a starting receiver along with Bryan Edwards and Hunter Renfrow on the team's updated Week 9 depth chart, Case Keefer of the Las Vegas Sun reports.

Renfrow will serve as the Raiders' top option out of the slot, while Jones joins Edwards as a starter at either perimeter spot. Through the Raiders' first seven games, Jones has held a bit role in the passing attack, as he's commanded no more than two targets in any contest while stringing together a 6-115-1 receiving line. Jones should be in store for a sizable uptick in snaps if not targets, though he'll still likely remain a lesser priority in the passing game than Renfrow, Edwards and tight end Darren Waller.

Jones caught his only target for 43 yards in Sunday's 33-22 win over the Eagles.

Jones made an impressive 43-yard sideline grab on third and long when the Raiders were trailing by seven points in the first quarter, but he ultimately played less than 15 offensive snaps for a fourth consecutive game. Jones is averaging just one target per game ahead of the team's Week 8 bye.

Jones played less than 10 offensive snaps for the first time this season, but he's now recorded at least one reception in three of four games. His role in the Raiders' offense figures to remain limited against the Bears in Week 5.

Jones continues to out-snap No. 5 receiver Willie Snead, but the former has drawn just three total targets from quarterback Derek Carr through three games. Expect a similar role for Jones in Week 4 against the Chargers as Henry Ruggs, Bryan Edwards and Hunter Renfrow remain healthy.

Jones caught two passes for 46 yards, including the game-winning 31-yard touchdown in overtime, during Monday's 33-27 win over the Ravens.

Jones caught both of his targets and finished fifth on the Raiders in receiving yards as Derek Carr threw for 435 yards on Monday Night Football. While the 26-year-old finished fifth in yards, he was tied with Josh Jacobs for the least amount of targets. Jones' fantasy value remains limited for the 2021 campaign.

Jones secured all three targets for 57 yards in the Raiders' 20-7 preseason win over the Seahawks on Saturday night.

With the Raiders' top wideout quartet of Henry Ruggs, Bryan Edwards, Hunter Renfrow and John Brown not making an appearance on the stat sheet, Jones led the way in both receptions and receiving yardage on the night. The veteran is facing a tall task in his quest to end up any better than the No. 5 receiver, especially with offseason signee Willie Snead and the promising Keelan Doss also on the roster.

The Raiders re-signed Jones on Thursday, Myles Simmons of NBC Pro Football Talk reports.

Jones appeared to be on the verge of a potential breakout season after compiling 56 receptions for 652 yards and seven touchdowns for the Bills in 2018. The past two seasons have been underwhelming, however. In a combined 31 games for the Bills (five) and Raiders (26) since the start of 2019, the former East Carolina standout has yielded only 41 catches for 270 yards and one TD. Jones slots in as a secondary option within the receiving corps, as Henry Ruggs (concussion), John Brown and Hunter Renfrow round out the top three spots on the depth chart.

Jones caught one of two targets for 37 yards during the Raiders' Week 17 finale, finishing up his 2020 campaign with 14 catches (on 19 targets) for 154 yards and one touchdown in 16 games.

Jones' nine-yard reception came in overtime as the Raiders eventually ended their 6:42 drive with a 23-yard field goal. Despite logging 53 offensive snaps with fellow receiver Henry Ruggs sidelined on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Jones' minuscule target share continued as the Raiders also rushed 41 times. Hunter Renfrow has entered the league's concussion protocol, however, so Jones could be in line for more work again in Week 16 against the Dolphins.

Jones failed to catch his lone target during Sunday's 31-28 win over the Jets.

The 25-year-old's only target came during the third quarter as he played seven offensive snaps. Nelson Agholor, Henry Ruggs and Hunter Renfrow are clearly established as the Raiders' three top wideouts, and Bryan Edwards is also ahead of Jones on the depth chart.

Jones caught his only target for three yards in Sunday's 43-6 loss to the Falcons.

Jones has been dealt one target in three consecutive games, but even a blowout defeat failed to boost his involvement in the Raiders' offense. A road matchup against the winless Jets awaits, but Jones' competition for playing time remains healthy.

Jones caught his only target for 18 yards in Sunday's 35-31 loss to the Chiefs.

Jones remains at the bottom of the pecking order at wide receiver for the Raiders as he matched his season low of five offensive snaps on Sunday Night Football. If he's able to earn more playing time in Week 12, a favorable matchup against the Falcons awaits.

Jones caught his lone target for six yards in Sunday's 37-12 win over the Broncos.

Jones has now logged 10 or less offensive snaps in four consecutive games since the Raiders' Week 6 bye. Jones is clearly just a depth wideout at this point, and his role could diminish further once rookie third-rounder Bryan Edwards (ankle) is back in the fold.

Jones played 10 offensive snaps but was not targeted in Sunday's 45-20 loss to the Buccaneers.

Jones was relatively uninvolved despite fellow receiver Bryan Edwards' (ankle/foot) continued absence, while Nelson Agholor broke out for 107 yards and a touchdown on five catches across from Henry Ruggs. Hunter Renfrow also saw six targets as Jones' role figures to remain limited Week 8 at Cleveland.

Jones caught his only target for two yards in Sunday's 40-32 win over the Chiefs.

Jones, who logged a season-high 66 offensive snaps Week 4 against the Bills, saw his role severely reduced Sunday due to Henry Ruggs' (knee) return from a two-game absence. The upcoming bye week lends additional opportunity for receiver Bryan Edwards (ankle/foot) to get healthy as well, which would further downgrade Jones' outlook for a Week 7 tilt against the Buccaneers.

Jones averaged a mundane 5.3 yards per target, but he earned the start at wide receiver on the outside across from Nelson Agholor after rookies Henry Ruggs (knee/hamstring) and Bryan Edwards (ankle) were ruled out. Tight end Darren Waller and slot man Hunter Renfrow were the only Raiders to earn more targets than Jones on Sunday, and the latter could be on tap for additional work in Week 5 against the Chiefs if Ruggs and Edwards remain sidelined.

Jones appears to be in line for an increased workload during Sunday's game agianst the Bills, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.

The Raiders will be without at least one starting wideout Sunday, with Bryan Edwards (ankle) ruled out, and Henry Ruggs (knee/hamstring) is also listed as doubtful. Jones would stand to start in three-wide sets if Edwards and Ruggs can't go, though both Hunter Renfrow and Nelson Agholor remain ahead of him on the depth chart. Through three games this season, Jones has secured all four of his targets for 47 yards and a touchdown.

Jones caught three passes on as many targets for 32 yards in Sunday's 36-20 loss to the Patriots.

Jones benefited from the absence of rookie Henry Ruggs (knee/hamstring) on Sunday, but the former could see even more work in Week 4 against the Bills if fellow receiver Bryan Edwards were to miss time with the ankle injury he suffered in New England. Through the Raiders' first three contests of the season, Jones has managed to catch all four of his targets for 47 yards and a score.

Jones caught a 15-yard touchdown pass in Monday's 34-24 win over the Saints.

Jones only has one target through two games, but he made the most of it with a crucial touchdown toward the end of the second quarter. However, he played just 18 of 80 offensive snaps (22 percent), so he doesn't have dependable fantasy value.

Jones may lose his roster spot, ESPN.com's Paul Gutierrez reports.

Tyrell Williams, Henry Ruggs, Hunter Renfrow and Bryan Edwards are locks, presumably leaving Jones to compete with Nelson Agholor and a slew of young players for one or two jobs. Early reports seem to favor Agholor as the veteran pick, and it would be cheaper for the Raiders to keep a late-round pick or an undrafted player over Jones for the sixth and final spot (if one even exists). The 2017 second-round pick never made any noise after he was traded from Buffalo to Oakland last October, with his 461 offensive snaps producing 20 receptions for only 147 yards. According to Pro Football Focus, Jones' mark of 0.58 yards per route was tied for last among the 117 wide receivers that drew 25 or more targets in 2019.

Jones (shoulder) does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Patriots.

After logging limited practices Wednesday and Thursday, Jones practiced fully Friday, gaining clearance to play Sunday in the process. Three games into the season, Jones has hauled in five of his 10 targets for 65 yards, making him a fantasy option only in the deepest of formats, especially while going up against the Patriots' stingy defense in Week 4.

Jones (shoulder) logged another limited practice Thursday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.

Jones continued to sport a red (non-contact) jersey at Thursday's practice, but he'll have one more chance to shed that Friday, when the Bills have their final practice in advance of Sunday's game against the Patriots.

Jones, who sported a non-contact jersey during Wednesday's practice, was later listed as limited due to a shoulder injury.

Usually when guys are at least limited in the first practice of the week they're able to play in the upcoming game, so we're not too worried about Jones' availability in a huge matchup against the Patriots this Sunday. Jones did have shoulder surgery in January of 2018, though it hasn't been revealed yet whether the latest issue involves the same shoulder.
