Brazil vs. Switzerland

Monday, November 28, 2022 – 11:00 AM EST at Stadium 974

Brazil Expected to Outwit the Swiss

The second round of fixtures in Group G commences this coming Monday, and the two favorites of the group Brazil and Switzerland, are likely battling for the 1st place qualifying position in this meeting.

A 1-0 success over Cameroon opened up Switzerland’s Group G campaign, while Brazil won 2-0 against Serbia. These conservative results weren’t the goal counts we expected, especially regarding Brazil, who’ve netted 28 goals from their previous 8 fixtures in all competitions.

What to Expect?

Both squads will understand this upcoming game isn’t vital to their qualification, and we shouldn’t expect an all-out attack from either squad. And while Brazil undoubtedly owns the more fearsome strike force of the two teams, Switzerland will present a significantly more robust defense than Serbia.

The absence of Neymar (check out OddsTrader’s World Cup Injuries report ) for the rest of the group stage will force Brazil head coach Tite to make formation adjustments, which could result in a newly tested game plan. And considering the Swiss performance last time out, a low-scoring encounter is the most likely outcome.

Betting Pick: Under 2.5 Goals (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

Portugal vs. Uruguay

Monday, November 28, 2022 – 02:00 PM EST at Lusail Iconic Stadium

Two Lacklustre Debuts for Two Top Teams

Portugal and Uruguay equally failed to impress in their Group H opening fixtures. Although the Portuguese walked away with three points and a 3-2 success over Ghana, they struggled for over an hour versus one of the lowest-ranked teams in the competition. Regarding Uruguay, they ended their Qatar debut in a 0-0 bore draw versus South Korea.

Uruguay has lost just 1 of their last 10 games in all competitions, while Portugal has won just 1 of their previous 9 meetings against South American competition. The last meeting between these two sides saw the Uruguayan snatch a 2-1 victory, and La Celeste has been efficient against European opposition, winning 4 of their last 5 World Cup meetings.

Expect Some Goals

Portugal’s performance against Ghana didn’t show a group capable of winning this competition, and Uruguay will present difficulties that Ronaldo and co. may not handle so well. Expecting both teams to score is an excellent price for a challenging game to predict an outright winner.

Betting Pick: Both Teams to Score (-105) at BetMGM

Netherlands vs. Qatar

Tuesday, November 29 – 10.00 AM EST at Al Bayt Stadium

The Dutch Have Been Unconvincing Thus Far

Louis van Gaal’s Dutch squad has one more group-stage game to impress. Given Qatar’s low-quality level, Tuesday’s encounter is the perfect opportunity for the Netherlands to let its presence known.

Allowing Ecuador to take one point wasn’t the plan for Van Gaal and his highly touted Dutch squad. Although four points from a possible six still position them as Group A leaders, they will need all three points from their Qatar matchup to ensure a position in the round of 16.

Better But Not That Much

Qatar looked exceptionally better versus Senegal than they did against Ecuador in the tournament opener. Still, consecutive defeats mean the World Cup hosts have been eliminated and will be playing for nothing but pride when meeting with the Netherlands.

We cannot bank on pride; for this reason, expecting an early lead from the Netherlands with the ability to maintain it until the 90th minute is providing one of the most notable pieces of value that isn’t presenting too much juice.

Betting Pick: Netherlands Half-Time/Full-Time (-160) at Bet365

England vs. Wales

Tuesday, November 29 – 02.00 PM EST at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium

The Three Lions Defend a 40-Year Streak

It’s been nearly 40 years since Wales overcame their British rivals, but they’ll have a chance to rectify this drought on Tuesday. While England attempt to maintain the top position of Group B and a position in the World Cup round of 16, the Dragons must take all three points and hope Iran versus the USA ends in a draw for them to have a chance at qualification.

Rob Page will need to be fearless with this Welsh group heading into the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, as the squad depth, variables, and betting odds all point towards an England victory. However, the Welsh can take solace in knowing this squad is one of the most talented since their last win against the Three Lions in 1984, and there’s nothing they’d enjoy more than sending Southgate’s men packing.

Don’t Expect An Unlikely Result

With that said, it would be an unlikely result to see England falter. Wales presents a mixture of talent like Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, Ethan Ampadu, and Harry Wilson, but they do not compare to the $1.65 billion squad worth of England.

The moneyline price on England doesn’t offer much value, but we shouldn’t expect Page’s men to sit back and allow their opposition to run wild as they did versus Iran. An England win with a one or two-goal margin is a likely outcome with a respectable price tag.

Betting Pick: England Win & Under 3.5 Goals (-110) at FanDuel
