College Football Odds for Week 2: Sept 2-7

Quarterback John Mateer #10 of the Oklahoma Sooners slows his run as he rolls out against Illinois State Redbirds

It’s time for Week 2 of the college football season!

We had a number of crazy games in Week 1. The slate isn’t as good as Week 1, but there are still plenty of intriguing matchups, and I’m sure there will also be many upsets that nobody saw coming.

Here are my picks with their corresponding odds provided by Caesars Sportsbook (check our Caesars Sportsbook Review). Let’s have a huge weekend with these college football odds for week 2.

Kansas vs. Missouri (-6.5)

Saturday, September 06, 2025 – 03:30 PM EDT

Missouri dominated Central Arkansas, 61-6, in its opening win.

Beau Pribula accounted for more than 300 yards in the air and on the ground and added two passing touchdowns with two rushing touchdowns. The Missouri offense looks tremendous.

While Kansas has looked solid defensively, I’m not so sure they’ll be elite in any area.

The Tigers look to have a very good secondary. The squad just needs to tackle more. If that’s corrected, the sky is the limit for the Tigers.

Vanderbilt vs. Virginia Tech (+2.5)

Saturday, September 06, 2025 – 07:30 PM EDT

The Virginia Tech Hokies didn’t look very good in their opening game against South Carolina. The Hokies struggled with tackling, didn’t cover very well, and were particularly ineffective offensively, especially with the offensive line, in the 24-11 loss.

Conversely, Vanderbilt earned a 45-3 win over Charleston Southern.

Diego Pavia looked absolutely electric and has single-handedly turned Vanderbilt into a legitimate SEC football team. But it wasn’t just the offense that looked great. The defense was phenomenal, too.

Vanderbilt should be fine on the road.

Michigan vs. Oklahoma (-5.5)

Saturday, September 06, 2025 – 07:30 PM EDT

Michigan outplayed New Mexico in Week 1. They won 34-17, but New Mexico put up a legitimate fight. It’s why Oklahoma is the favorite by 5.5 points at home.

Bryce Underwood played well, but the offense must do more for Michigan to have success down the line.

On the other hand, Oklahoma took care of business against Illinois State, earning a 35-3 victory. Quarterback John Mateer passed for three touchdowns and set records for the Sooners.

Mateer can certainly sling the ball around against Michigan. If New Mexico scored 17, what can Oklahoma do?
