MLB Computer Picks for August 20: Fade Hernandez in Coors Field

It’s going to be a fun-filled day with baseball on throughout the day. I’ve selected the three of my best MLB picks for the later matchups so everyone reading has a chance to tail and cash at the top-rated sportsbooks.

Let’s have a night!

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Colorado Rockies

Wednesday, August 20, 2025 – 08:40 PM EDT at Coors Field

The AI Model thinks Teoscar Hernandez will finish with .279 runs in tonight’s showdown against the Rockies. Meanwhile, his prop is set at under .5 runs, with the under at +125.

This is a wildly valuable bet at Caesars Sportsbook.

Is Hernandez Too Aggressive?

Teoscar Hernandez has added a .269 ISO and wOBA of .359 against his last 71 righties. That sounds good and all. However, he’s also struck out 32.4% of the time during that stretch against righties and has walked 2.8% of the time.

It’s very unlikely Hernandez will walk against Tanner Gordon of the Rockies. After all, Gordon has walked just 4% of his last 50 right-handed batters.

In addition, Gordon has also limited his last 50 righties to a .128 ISO. The Rockies’ right-hander has induced nearly 49% of ground balls and has allowed just 14.6% of fly balls.

Hernandez has hit close to 46% of ground balls against righties over the last 30 days. So even in Coors Field, don’t be afraid to take Hernandez to add below .5 runs in tonight’s game against the Rockies at +125 odds.

The AI Model knows!

Cincinnati Reds vs. Los Angeles Angels

Wednesday, August 20, 2025 – 09:38 PM EDT at Angel Stadium

Our AI Model believes Zach Neto will add .34 runs tonight for the Angels. Yet, his runs prop is also at .5, with the under at -115.

This is a +17.7% expected value play. Let’s ride with it.

It Won’t Be Easy For Neto!

Zach Neto has played his way to the top of the lineup for the Angels. He’s hit a .224 ISO and wOBA of .342 against his last 97 righties. However, he’s still struck out 23.7% of the time, and he’s hit only 21.9% of line drives.

As a result, he’s managed just a .283 BABIP against righties over the last month.

That said, he’ll face Nick Martinez of the Reds. Martinez has limited his last 56 righties to a .137 ISO and wOBA of .258. Martinez hasn’t been elite this season, but he’s easily pitching his best right now.

Martinez has only walked 4.6% of righties this season, and he’s allowed just 9.3% of line drives against righties over the last month. It’ll be hard for Neto to even get on base against a red-hot Martinez.

Give me the Under for Zach Neto’s runs tonight.

San Francisco Giants vs. San Diego Padres

Wednesday, August 20, 2025 – 09:40 PM EDT at Petco Park

Our AI Model predicts Tyler Fitzgerald will earn .369 hits tonight for the Giants. But his prop is at .5, with the under at only -105. That’s another steal according to the AI Model.

Can Fitzgerald Find Success Against The Lefty?

The Giants are in line to face JP Sears of the Padres.

Ultimately, the lefty has struggled against the handful of lefties he’s faced. Still, he’s dominated against righties. He has limited his last 52 righties to a .125 ISO and wOBA of .274. He’s also struck out 32.7% of righties during that stretch.

Tonight, he’ll battle Tyler Fitzgerald of the Giants.

Fitzgerald has faced seven lefties over the last month and has hit a .000 ISO and wOBA of .226 with 28.6% of strikeouts. This isn’t the ideal matchup for Fitzgerald.

I’ll back Fitzgerald to add below .5 hits in tonight’s game against Sears and the Padres.
