Kim has also struck out 25% of the time against righties and hasn’t walked once. He’s also hit 25% of hard contact and a 0% barrel percentage against righties.
Meanwhile, he’ll bat against Arizona ace Corbin Burnes. Burnes hasn’t been fantastic this season, but he’s still got a lot of potential the rest of the season. After all, Burnes limited lefties to a .092 ISO and wOBA of .255 last season. He also allowed just 17.9% of line drives and 20.4% of fly balls, with only 6.2% of walks.
Burnes will start to figure it out. It won’t be Kim who will beat him in the Dodgers’ lineup.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Los Angeles Angels

Meanwhile, he’ll go up against Kyle Gibson of the Orioles. The veteran righty has allowed a .400 ISO and wOBA of .490 to his first 22 righties this season. However, that’s a small sample size. Last year, Gibson held 333 righties to a .132 ISO and wOBA of .287 with more than 50% of ground balls.

Meanwhile, he’ll battle Bowden Francis of the Toronto Blue Jays. Francis has struggled against lefties this season, but limited 187 lefties last year to a .277 wOBA. Francis doesn’t fall behind in counts often. He’s also limited line drives to 22.7% against lefties.
If he continues to limit walks and limit line drives, he’ll perform better down the line against lefties.
On the other hand, it’ll be hard for Polanco to replicate his recent success. After all, he’s only hit 24.1% of line drives himself against righties over the last month.
Let’s be brave and take Jorge Polanco to go under 1.5 total bases tonight.
