The NBA is really trying to fix its All-Star Game Weekend mess. Viewership has dropped, and competitiveness is nonexistent.
But that’s expected to change this year.
We’ll get to the NBA All-Star Game in another article. In this one, we’ll discuss some of the best NBA All-Star Saturday night picks for Saturday’s challenges. Let’s have a huge weekend!
NBA Skills Challenge Pick
The first challenge on Saturday will be the Skills Challenge.
The league is bringing back the “Shooting Stars” event, where four three-man teams have 70 seconds to score as many points as possible from seven different locations on the court.
All other teams have players who are likely unfamiliar with the legend and their style. The Harpers can communicate the best and get the best shots up. So we’ll roll with the Harpers to win this event at +450.
Expert Pick: Team Harper to Win Skills Challenge (+450) at BetOnline
NBA 3-Point Contest Pick
The second event will be the 3-point contest. Oddly enough, Damian Lillard, rehabbing a season-ending injury, will compete and is currently second on the odds board.
Lillard has won the event before, but given his inactivity, I’d struggle to select him. Kon Knueppel is at +380, but there’s a lot of pressure on the rookie to succeed immediately.
Jamal Murray has become one of the most underrated shooters in the game. He’ll likely have a chip on his shoulder due to the fact that he doesn’t get enough love for what he brings to the table. He helped the Nuggets win a Championship and nobody flinched.
He’s also been injured many times over the last few years, but has stayed healthy enough this season to become an All-Star. Look for him to take advantage.

NBA Dunk Contest Pick
The NBA didn’t invite Mac McClung this year. It’s going to be:
- Carter Bryant
- Jaxson Hayes
- Keshad Johnson
- Jase Richardson
Richardson has the worst odds to win the Slam Dunk Contest. But I love the fact that his father is Jason Richardson (former slam dunk champion). He’s going to get some judges on his side more.
Plus, he’ll have some really good ideas. As long as he executes, Richardson could put together a gem of a performance. Carter Bryant missed a lot of dunks earlier this season. So I have a feeling he’s going to miss a bunch of dunks in the Slam Dunk Contest, too.
Let’s roll with Richardson to win the Slam Dunk Contest.
Expert Pick: Jase Richardson (+425) at BetOnline
