NBA Finals Odds Best Bets

Teams change from year to year. Coaching staff and rosters are commonly in a state of flux, with some teams maintaining continuity better than others. But looking back on the previous year and reviewing the additions and subtractions to the roster is a perfect way to start.

It is not surprising that last year’s winners, the Oklahoma City Thunder, are favorites again to repeat as champions, especially with how dominant they’ve been. But OKC is by no means a lock. They have plenty of company, as we can see in the NBA Final Odds table above featuring the top 10 teams.

After doing our homework, we’ve come up with three best bets to take home the hardware at the end of this season.

Oklahoma City Thunder (+125)

The Thunder boasts a young, talented roster whose players are signed to long-term contracts. Their 7’1” power forward, 23-year-old Chet Holmgren; small forward, 24-year-old Jalen Williams; and the reigning MVP, 27-year-old Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, comprise the core of this championship group, and now with a title under their collective belts, they should be tougher to beat than ever.

The odds of +125 are extremely chalky, as much can happen between now and the end of the regular season; however, because we don’t have a crystal ball, we can only predicate our analysis on what we have in front of us, and right now, the Thunder are the team to beat.

I don’t usually like to lay such heavy juice on a futures bet, but this is a rare exception, where the Thunder are so dominant that it’s hard to see any team knocking them off.

Cleveland Cavaliers (+1200)

Donovan Mitchell has been a game-changer since being shipped to Cleveland after spending the first five years of his career in Utah. Last year, it felt like it was all coming together for the Cavs when they forged a 64-18 record and officially became the Beasts of the East.

After rolling over the Heat in the opening round, the Cavaliers were caught off guard and were eventually ousted by the upstart Indiana Pacers. It was a stunning end to a glorious season, but now they are back and are one of the contenders to win the East yet again.

With the addition of James Harden, there’s a reasonable chance that this squad can catch fire in the second half of the season. If that happens, you can be sure that this price will change dramatically. In other words, the time to buy in on the Cavs is now.

Minnesota Timberwolves (+2500)

Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards is considered one of the brightest young stars in the league, but despite getting to back-to-back conference finals, the Wolves have yet to advance to a title tilt. It’s been a topic of much angst and discussion, but many believe the growing pains are over and the time for a serious championship run has arrived.

Minnesota re-signed Julius Randle and Naz Reid while adding rookie Joan Beringer as the team’s first-round pick, and will lean on veterans Mike Conley and Rudy Gobert. It’s an interesting mix of young stars and older stalwarts.

Once we get past the Thunder and the Nuggets, the next team people talk about in the Western Conference is Minnesota. We believe there is plenty of value at +2500 for a team that has a unique blend of experience and talent.

This is a squad that has been able to put up a fight vs the Thunder, so there’s always a chance that they can pull off the major upset.

Place Your NBA Futures Bets Now

Scanning the NBA Finals odds and choosing the right team is fast, fun, and exciting, but the NBA futures I post today and the corresponding odds don’t remain stagnant forever. Futures odds you see now may not be around much longer.

This means it is essential that you obtain the sharpest odds available, and the only way to do that is to immediately wager on the NBA futures that you like, but you have to have an active account.

That’s right, make sure your account is funded, and perhaps get multiple accounts at two or more sportsbooks so you can compare the numbers. But the key is to get down at a place you trust and at the best lines or odds available.
