The Wild Card Weekend was super exciting, with a bunch of tight games. But I’ve got a feeling the Divisional Round will be even better.
The Divisional Round has four games, with two matchups on Saturday and another two on Sunday. Only one game has a spread greater than 7.5, but it’s a divisional game between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.
That said, let’s talk about the NFL Divisional round odds and their betting lines below.
NFL Odds Wild Card Divisional Weekend At-A-Glance
The Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks earned bye weeks in the Wild Card Round. Now, both teams will start their journeys on Saturday night at home in the Divisional Round.
The Buffalo Bills have been super close to the Super Bowl year after year, but can never get there. With the Kansas City Chiefs no longer around, it’ll be interesting to see if the Bills can pull off a road upset against the Denver Broncos.
Plus, on Sunday, the Texans and Patriots will battle for a spot in the conference championship. Both teams have elite defenses, which should make for some great TV.
There’s also the Rams-Bears game to cap off the Divisional Round. The Bears continue to find ways to win, despite being down in many of those games.
Below, we’ll discuss the odds for a few of these contests.
Buffalo Bills vs. Denver Broncos (-1.5 +100)
Saturday, January 17 – 04:30 PM ETÂ
The Bills and Broncos will begin the Divisional Round in the NFL Playoffs. The Bills survived the Jacksonville Jaguars, 27-24, in the Wild Card Round. Now they’ll take on a Broncos team that went 14-3 in the regular season.
The line hasn’t adjusted much since opening, either.
The Broncos opened as a 1.5-point favorite and are still a 1.5-point favorite at even odds. The total has also stayed the same at 46.5, but the juice has joined the Over 46.5 (-115).
Ultimately, the Bills have struggled badly in the tackling department, and their secondary has played inconsistently this year. In addition, the Broncos are 8-1 at home this season.Â
Houston Texans vs. New England Patriots (-3 -105)
Sunday, January 18 – 03:00 PM ETÂ
The Houston Texans just knocked off the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card Round, 30-6, despite being on the road. The Texans’ defense was absolutely stellar in the win.
Houston has been known for one of the league’s best defenses, allowing under 300 points this season.
However, the Patriots are also one of the best defenses. New England defeated the Chargers last weekend, 16-3. The Patriots also didn’t give up a touchdown in the win.
You’d have to figure this game will be low-scoring. That’s why the total has dropped from 41.5 at open to 40.5 now. That said, the spread has stayed with the Patriots at -3 and hasn’t moved since opening.
Los Angeles Rams vs. Chicago Bears (+3.5 -105)
Sunday, January 18 – 06:30 PM ETÂ
Analytically, the Chicago Bears are far from excellent. This team continues to trail by the fourth quarter. But somehow, the Bears find magic almost every time.
They finished the season 11-6 and have outscored opponents by only 30 points all year, for example.
The Rams have been much more elite this season. Yet, they almost lost to the Carolina Panthers in the Wild Card round. In addition, Matthew Stafford has a hand injury that could hurt his throwing ability.
As a result, the Rams went from -4.5 to -3.5, and the total has dropped from 51.5 to 50.5. But at the end of the day, the Rams are way deeper and have much more talent on the roster.
