We have one NFL game left for this wild 2025 season, and it’s a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX as the Seattle Seahawks will take on the New England Patriots. This one won’t be a pick ‘em, but it should be a better game than people are suggesting, as New England’s defense has been on a tear.
We crunched the numbers and figured out our top NFL Super Bowl picks for the total and spread with the latest odds.
NFL Super Bowl Picks At-a-Glance
Our NFL picks for Super Bowl LX expect a better game between Seattle and New England than the consensus seems to be pointing towards, as we anticipate the big game in California. The underdog and under are a tempting combo.
Seattle Seahawks vs. New England Patriots (O/U 46)
This Super Bowl matchup is a rematch from the 2014 season, when the Patriots came back to win 28-24 after Malcolm Butler’s interception at the 1-yard line. These teams are very different from those ones, though they still exhibit some similar traits.
You can question taking New England’s stats because of the easy schedule, while the Seahawks won one of the toughest divisions (NFC West) in NFL history. However, the Patriots have been dominant on defense in the playoffs.
I think that, with two weeks to prepare, Mike Vrabel and company are going to throw every look they can at Sam Darnold, who has been playing familiar NFC West defenses almost every week for the last six weeks. He hasn’t turned the ball over yet in the playoffs after leading the regular season in turnovers.
As for the other side of the ball, Drake Maye’s numbers looked great in the regular season but resemble Trent Dilfer or Rex Grossman in the postseason. That’s just the truth. He faces a No. 1 scoring defense that only Matthew Stafford and Baker Mayfield have really cracked this year.
That’s why my favorite bet is the under 46 points, as both quarterbacks have never played in a game of this magnitude, and it’s hard to trust either to perform at a high level against these defenses with an extra week to prepare. Give me the under.
Expert Pick: Under 46 (-115) at BetOnline
Seattle Seahawks vs. New England Patriots (+4.5)
This is the first Super Bowl since 2017 where the teams had the two best spread records that season. The Seahawks are 14-5 ATS, and the Patriots are 13-6-1 ATS. However, underdogs are 5-0 ATS in the last five Super Bowls and 13-4 ATS in Super Bowls since the Patriots were upset by the 2007 Giants.
Mike Vrabel is 18-9 ATS as an underdog of 4+ points in his career. He’s also on record saying he would cut off his manhood to win a Super Bowl, so this is very meaningful for him.
Vrabel has a decent matchup, as his run defense with Milton Williams is fully capable of containing Kenneth Walker. The Patriots also have an outstanding corner in Christian Gonzalez, who can take on the assignment of slowing down Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
It’s just about controlling Drake Maye’s nerves and getting him back on track, as he aims to be the youngest quarterback to win a Super Bowl. He’s also won three straight games while taking 5+ sacks, something no one has even done twice in their entire playoff career.
He’s also had six fumbles and two interceptions, so he’s playing about as badly as he can, and he’s still here. Also, the Seahawks have a weaker pass rush than the Broncos and Texans did, so this could be a nice change of pace for him in what should be clear weather.
The Patriots are on a 16-1 SU run and only blew a 21-point lead in that one loss. This team has answered the bell, and I like them to keep it close here too. After all, the Seahawks were less than a minute away from losing to a 44-year-old Philip Rivers as a 2-touchdown favorite.
