Live NFL Odds for Week 16

The cover for this NFL odds week 16 article shows James Cook III #4 of the Buffalo Bills running for a touchdown during the second quarter against the New England Patriots.

It’s a shocker! The Kansas City Chiefs are out of the playoff picture. And to make matters worse, Patrick Mahomes just tore his ACL and likely won’t even be available for next season.

That said, the Chiefs are finished. But many teams are fighting for a spot in the playoffs over the next few weeks. Let’s talk about some of the biggest games of Week 16.

Check out the football betting lines and the NFL odds Week 16.

NFL Odds Week 16 At-a-Glance

There will undoubtedly be some blowouts in Week 16. But some exciting games should go down to the wire. The Chargers-Cowboys, Jaguars-Broncos, and Patriots-Ravens games all have significant implications in Week 16.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Dallas Cowboys (-1.5 -110)

Sunday, December 21 – 1:00 PM ET

The Dallas Cowboys have lost two consecutive games. One more loss and the playoffs will undoubtedly be out of reach. However, they’re at home and favorites against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Cowboys opened as a 1.5-point favorite at -110, but the odds have shifted to +100. In addition, the total increased from 48.5 to 49.5 after Dallas’ last two games saw totals of 60+ in each.

That’s how Dallas has been all year. The offense has scored close to 30 points a game, but the defense has also allowed nearly 30 points per game. The Chargers aren’t as elite on offense, but the defense has been better.

Dak Prescott has been one of the more underrated quarterbacks this season. He should be able to take advantage of the Chargers’ defense, despite the team allowing only 173.15 yards per game in the air. Los Angeles has been one of the worst tackling teams in the NFL this season.

On the flip side, Dallas has one of the league’s worst secondaries. The defense has been far worse, but it should be able to make stops against a Los Angeles team that doesn’t run the ball very well.

Dallas should be able to pull out a win at home per the analytics.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Denver Broncos (-3 -105)

Sunday, December 21 – 04:05 PM ET

The Jaguars and Broncos have forgotten how to lose. However, unless we get a tie in this one, one of these teams’ win streaks will be snapped.

The Broncos are thought to have the best defense in the NFL. However, the secondary and tackling haven’t been extraordinary. As a matter of fact, PFF thinks the Jaguars have been better as a whole defensively this season.

I’d also trust Trevor Lawrence over Bo Nix in crunch time. However, sportsbooks aren’t agreeing with me. The Broncos, who are 7-0 at home, went from -2.5 to -3 against the spread. In addition, the total jumped to 45.5 from 43.5 at open.

New England Patriots vs. Baltimore Ravens (-2.5 -110)

Sunday, December 21 – 08:20 PM ET

The Ravens are only 7-7, but they’ve got a legitimate chance to win the AFC North after knocking off the Cincinnati Bengals last week.

The Ravens aren’t playing well offensively, but the defense finally showed up last week. If the Ravens can put it all together, they’ll be a tough out. We just haven’t seen the Ravens all together this season.

On the other hand, New England blew their lead against the Buffalo Bills. If nothing else, New England proved it belonged at the upper echelon of the league.

The Ravens are -2.5 at home, and the total is set at 48.5. These odds haven’t moved since opening. However, throughout the season, the Patriots have been much more reliable.
