Racks up 44 points with nine dimes
Maxey erupted for 44 points (14-31 FG, 2-13 3Pt, 14-17 FT), seven rebounds, nine assists and one block over 52 minutes during Sunday's double-overtime loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Maxey struggled from long range for most of this game, but with 8.3 seconds left in regulation, he came through with a big-time clutch bucket, drilling a kick-out triple to send the game to overtime. Unfortunately, despite Maxey's heroics, the 76ers couldn't bring home the win, and they're now 5-6 at home on the season.
Nov 25, 2025
Adds 20 points in blowout loss
Maxey registered 20 points (7-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), one rebound, four assists and one steal in 32 minutes during Tuesday's 144-103 loss to the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was one of the lone bright spots on the night, managing to lead the Sixers in scoring while posting an efficient shooting line. However, this was definitely a down night by his standards considering he was averaging 35.0 points over his previous five appearances entering Tuesday.
Nov 25, 2025
Good to go Tuesday
Maxey (shoulder) is good to go for Tuesday's game against the Magic.
ANALYSIS
No surprise here, as Maxey was previously listed as probable. With Joel Embiid (knee) out again and Paul George (ankle) sidelined, more usage is likely heading Maxey's way. Maxey has been on fire this season with averages of 33.0 points and 7.8 assists.
Nov 24, 2025
Probable for Tuesday
Maxey (shoulder) is probable for Tuesday's game against the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Maxey appears on the injury report with a right shoulder sprain but is in line to play Tuesday. The 25-year-old has been outstanding all season, especially recently, averaging 35.0 points, 6.6 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.6 steals across the 76ers' past five games.
Nov 20, 2025
Scorches Bucks for 54 points
Maxey tallied 54 points (18-30 FG, 6-15 3Pt, 12-14 FT), nine assists, five rebounds, three assists and three blocks over 46 minutes during the 76ers' 123-114 overtime win over the Bucks on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Paul George got off to a hot start in the first quarter in his return from a one-game absence, but it was the Maxey show for the 76ers the rest of the way. Maxey was particularly effective down the stretch, with 25 of his points coming in the fourth quarter and overtime, and it was the third time this season that he logged at least six three-pointers. Maxey's minutes will be worth monitoring as the 2025-26 campaign progresses; he has played 40-plus minutes in three of his last four games and is averaging a career-high 40.7 minutes per game this season. He'll continue to be the engine of the 76ers' offense, especially in games in which either one or both of George and Joel Embiid (knee) are not playing.
Nov 20, 2025
Good to go Thursday
Maxey (quadriceps) has been cleared to play Thursday against the Bucks, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was upgraded to probable on the injury report earlier in the day, so the report that he's available Thursday is no surprise. He continues to play at a high level, averaging 29.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.9 steals over his last seven appearances.
Nov 20, 2025
Probable for Thursday
Maxey is probable for Thursday's game against the Bucks with a right quadriceps contusion.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is a little banged up for the second leg of this back-to-back set, but the star guard is expected to push through it. During the 76ers' 121-112 loss to the Raptors on Wednesday, Maxey produced 24 points (8-14 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine assists, two rebounds, three steals and one block over 39 minutes.
Nov 19, 2025
Hits five triples vs. Toronto
Maxey posted 24 points (8-14 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine assists, two rebounds, three steals and one block over 39 minutes during the 76ers' 121-112 loss to the Raptors on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Maxey came out firing with 12 points in the first quarter, nine of which came from three-point range. He missed his lone field-goal attempt in the fourth quarter as he took a backseat in the scoring category, but he did dish four of his nine assists in the final frame, three of which went to Quentin Grimes. Maxey's five three-pointers were his most since Nov. 4 against Chicago (six), and the sixth-year guard has averaged 30.1 points, 6.9 assists, 4.8 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 3.7 threes over 38.7 minutes per game since Nov. 2.
Nov 17, 2025
Erupts for 39 points in win
Maxey amassed 39 points (13-27 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 9-10 FT), six assists, three rebounds and one steal across 41 minutes in Monday's 110-108 win over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey delivered an efficient performance from the field en route to his eighth game with at least 30 points in 13 regular-season appearances thus far. The star point guard also tied the team lead in assists after dishing out a season-low three dimes in Friday's loss to Detroit. Maxey continues to serve as Philadelphia's top offensive option, and over his last five outings, he has averaged 31.0 points, 6.4 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 2.3 steals in 39.2 minutes per contest.
Nov 14, 2025
Nets 31 points with four steals
Maxey totaled 31 points (13-31 FG, 2-11 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and four steals in 40 minutes during Friday's 114-105 loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was coming off a 5-for-17 shooting performance, so it was nice to see him get things back on track Friday with a more efficient scoring effort. The 25-year-old point guard leads the league in total minutes (484.3) and he ranks second in points (384) and triples (46).
Nov 11, 2025
Nears double-double in win
Maxey notched 21 points (5-17 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 8-8 FT), nine assists, five rebounds and one steal across 34 minutes in Tuesday's 102-100 win over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Maxey struggled from the field and recorded a season-low 21 points, though he still finished as Philadelphia's second-leading scorer. The star point guard led all players in assists and finished one assist shy of his third double-double in 11 regular-season games. The 25-year-old has been impressive to start the season, and over his last five outings, he has averaged 30.2 points, 7.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks in 38.0 minutes per contest.
Nov 10, 2025
Keeps impressive stretch alive
Maxey amassed 33 points (10-26 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 9-9 FT), four rebounds, seven assists and two steals over 38 minutes during Sunday's 111-108 loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is enjoying an excellent start to the 2025-26 season and has cleared the 30-point mark in six of his 10 outings so far, with the Sixers going 4-2 in those games. The star guard has been shouldering a significant workload on offense due to the absence of Paul George (knee), the limitations of Joel Embiid (knee) and the adjustments of VJ Edgecombe. Still, he's been stepping up every time the team has needed him. Maxey is averaging 31.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game in five outings in November.
Nov 8, 2025
Game-high 31 points Saturday
Maxey registered 31 points (12-24 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven assists, four rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 43 minutes during the 76ers' 130-120 win over the Raptors on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Maxey and Joel Embiid (29 points) led the 76ers in scoring Saturday, with the former logging 27 of his 31 points through the first three quarters. Maxey has eclipsed 30 points five times this season and has dished out at least seven dimes in seven of the first nine games of the regular season. With Embiid playing under a minutes restriction and Paul George (knee) yet to make his 2025-26 debut, Maxey will continue to be the engine that powers the 76ers' offense. Through four games in November, Maxey is averaging 30.8 points, 7.0 assists, 5.5 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 steals over 39.3 minutes per game while connecting on 50.6 percent of his field-goal attempts (including 44.1 percent of his three-point attempts on 8.5 3PA/G).
Nov 5, 2025
Near double-double vs. Cleveland
Maxey registered 27 points (10-20 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-8 FT), nine assists, seven rebounds and one steal over 36 minutes during the 76ers' 132-121 loss to the Cavaliers on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
One night after scoring 39 points in a loss to the Bulls, Maxey once again led the 76ers in the point column while finishing one assist shy of his third double-double of the season. The All-Star guard has connected on at least 50.0 percent of his field-goal attempts in three of his last four games and is averaging 33.5 points, 8.5 assists, 5.1 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.0 blocks per game this season. However, his playing time over the course of the season will be worth monitoring, as he's opened the 2025-26 campaign averaging 41.3 minutes per game.
Nov 4, 2025
Erupts for 39-point night
Maxey closed with 39 points (14-26 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five rebounds, five assists, one steal and three blocks in 39 minutes during Tuesday's 113-111 loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Maxey almost single-handedly kept Philly in the game, continuing his hot start on the offensive end. He's managed to remain efficient despite a high volume of shot attempts, drilling 48.3 percent of his tries from the field over his previous five appearances. Maxey is averaging 34.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 8.8 assists and 1.2 steals over this five-game stretch.
Nov 2, 2025
Drops 26 points in win
Maxey tallied 26 points (9-19 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 39 minutes during Sunday's 129-105 victory over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Maxey produced at a high level across the board, finishing second on his squad in scoring while leading the first unit in rebounds and assists. The 24-year-old has been scorching hot to start the 2025-26 season, putting up 20-plus points in all six appearances while averaging 4.8 rebounds and 9.0 assists along the way.
Oct 31, 2025
Scores 26 points with 14 dimes
Maxey put up 26 points (8-16 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 6-7 FT), eight rebounds, 14 assists, two steals, two blocks and five turnovers in 44 minutes during Friday's 109-108 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
The 76ers got off to an awful start in this game, which had them looking at a 24-point deficit early, but Philly fought back and ended the first half with a 17-4 run to get back into the game. Maxey was a big reason why the 76ers were able to stay in the game, and he made a huge shot towards the end of regulation to trim the Celtics' lead to just one, but at the end of the day, the 76ers weren't able to keep their winning streak alive. They'll look to get things back on track Sunday in Brooklyn.
Oct 28, 2025
Massive double-double in win
Maxey amassed 39 points (11-25 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 14-16 FT), 10 assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block across 47 minutes during Tuesday's 139-134 overtime win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Maxey led all players in points and assists, recording his first double-double of the season. The star point guard wasn't highly efficient but got to the charity stripe often, falling just short of his third game with at least 40 points through four regular-season contests. Over that span, he's averaging 37.5 points, 8.3 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 43.0 minutes per game.
Oct 27, 2025
Pours in 43 points in win
Maxey led the 76ers to a 136-124 victory over the Magic on Monday with 43 points (15-32 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 9-10 FT), four rebounds, eight assists, one steal and one turnover in 42 minutes of floor time.
ANALYSIS
The Magic were unable to keep Maxey out of the paint Monday, and he made them pay dearly. Maxey has gotten off to a torrid start this season, with two 40-point games in his first three contests, so he's a big reason why the 76ers have gone undefeated to open the season. The only concern here would be that he's logging over 40 minutes a game, which heightens his chance of experiencing an injury.
Oct 26, 2025
Sets 76ers' record in win
Maxey had 28 points (7-20 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 10-12 FT), six rebounds, nine assists and one block over 42 minutes during Saturday's 125-121 victory over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
With his 28 points tonight, Tyrese Maxey set a new 76ers record for most points scored in the first two games of a season (68), topping Philadelphia legend Allen Iverson's 67. Maxey has been stellar thus far, posting averages of 34.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in 41.6 minutes. He's helped the Sixers get off to a 2-0 start, and they'll aim to improve to 3-0 on the year when they host Orlando on Monday.
Oct 25, 2025
Nears double-double in win
Maxey amassed 28 points (7-20 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 10-12 FT), nine assists, six rebounds and one block across 42 minutes in Saturday's 125-121 win over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
After scoring 40 points in Wednesday's season-opening win over Boston, Maxey recorded a game-high 28 points against Charlotte. The star point guard also led all players in assists and has dished out 15 through two games. The Sixers have plenty of mouths to feed, but Maxey should continue to serve as the team's top option on the offensive end while Joel Embiid -- who posted 20 points in 20 minutes -- remains on a minutes restriction.
Oct 22, 2025
Erupts for 40 points in win
Maxey erupted for 40 points (13-24 FG, 7-9 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six assists, two rebounds, two steals, one block and one turnover in 41 minutes during Wednesday's 117-116 season-opening win over Boston.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was en fuego from the jump in this one, dropping in 22 points by halftime, and he was on the floor for all but seven minutes in this game. After averaging 37.7 minutes per game last season while rocking a 29.8 usage rate, it looks like Maxey will again be operating with a heavy workload this year, so hopefully, he'll be able to stay healthy.
Oct 17, 2025
Nets 27 points with seven assists
Maxey produced 27 points (10-17 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, seven assists, two steals, one block and three turnovers in 30 minutes during Friday's 126-110 preseason win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was again the 76ers' leading scorer in this one, something he did in all four preseason games, and something that will likely be a trend this season. He's been very aggressive seeking out his own shot, but he's also done a nice job of distributing the rock. He should be an elite source of points, triples and dimes as he enters his age-25 season, making him an attractive, early-round target on draft day.
Oct 10, 2025
Drops 17 points in 12 minutes
Maxey popped off for 17 points (7-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt), two assists and three triples in just 12 minutes of action during Friday's preseason loss to the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has looked great through the preseason thus far, so managers can feel confident investing an early-round pick on the sixth-year guard on draft day. Yes, he did experience some freak injuries last season that limited him to just 52 games, but he's only two years removed from a 70-game, All-Star-caliber season. He looks ready to bounce back in a big way.
Oct 4, 2025
Scores 16 in preseason loss
Maxey finished with 16 points (4-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one steal across 18 minutes during Saturday's 113-104 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Maxey made use of the limited time he was on the floor during the team's second preseason game, matching Kennedy Chandler for a game-high point total. The talented guard already looks back to form, which is a great sign for Philadelphia, considering their injury issues.
Oct 2, 2025
Busy in limited action Thursday
Maxey logged 14 points (5-12 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 23 minutes during Thursday's 99-84 preseason loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
With Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George (knee) sidelined, Maxey operated as the offensive focal point Thursday. If either Embiid or George end up being limited to start the season, Maxey would be in position to rack up even more counting stats. The 76ers effectively shut down the star guard late last year while he nursed a sprained right finger, but Maxey looks to be fully healthy for the preseason.
Sep 30, 2025
Active to start camp
Maxey (finger) has been a full go at training camp, Adam Aaronson of Philly Voice reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey hasn't played since March 4 due to a lower back sprain and a sprained right finger, but there was no mention of either injury at Media Day which suggests that he's been 100 percent for quite some time. With both Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George (knee) hobbling at the start of training camp, Maxey is likely to soak up a ton of usage in the early going.
Apr 3, 2025
Out for remainder of season
Maxey (finger) is expected to miss the rest of the season, Shams Charania of ESPN reported Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has been out since March 4 with a sprained right finger. With the 76ers eliminated from postseason contention and just six games left on the schedule, the team is being cautious with the 24-year-old and electing to shut him down for the season. Jared Butler figures to continue as the starting point guard in Maxey's absence, while other guards like Quentin Grimes and Lonnie Walker should also see a steady role for the remainder of the season.
Apr 2, 2025
Remains out for Thursday
Maxey (finger) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Bucks, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will miss a 17th straight game for the 76ers due to a sprained finger on his right hand. Philadelphia will likely continue to lean on Jared Butler to shoulder the load as the starting point guard, with Quentin Grimes, Lonnie Walker and Kyle Lowry coming off the bench.
Apr 1, 2025
Deemed day-to-day
Coach Nick Nurse said Tuesday that Maxey (finger) practiced Friday and continues to work out but is considered day-to-day moving forward, Sam DiGiovanni of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey hasn't played since March 3 due to a right finger sprain but appears to be nearing a return to action. However, with Philadelphia currently sitting at 13th in the Eastern Conference, it remains to be seen if they will risk the health of their star guard by having him return before the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
Mar 31, 2025
Another absence coming
Maxey (finger) will not play Tuesday against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will sit out for a 16th straight game, and there's still no target date for his return. Back on March 26, head coach Nick Nurse said there was still some hope that Maxey would return before the end of the regular season. In the meantime, players such as Jared Butler and Lonnie Walker will likely continue to see an uptick in minutes.
Mar 28, 2025
Will miss next two games
Head coach Nick Nurse said Friday that Maxey (finger) won't play in Saturday's game against the Heat and Sunday's game against the Raptors, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey's absence streak will extend to 15 games due to a sprained right finger, and his next chance to play will come Tuesday against the Knicks. The star point guard was a partial participant during Friday's practice, per Sam DiGiovanni of ClutchPoints.com, which bodes well for his potential return before the end of the season. Jared Butler and Jeff Dowtin will likely continue to receive an uptick in playing time due to Maxey being sidelined.
Mar 26, 2025
Could return before season's end
76ers head coach Nick Nurse updated Maxey's status, claiming the hope is he'll return before the end of the season, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will miss a 13th straight game for the 76ers on Wednesday due to back and finger injuries. Jared Butler and Jeff Dowtin will likely continue to shoulder the bulk of the load in the backcourt with Maxey still on the mend and no clear timetable for his return to the floor.
Mar 25, 2025
Won't play Wednesday
Maxey is out for Wednesday's game against the Wizards with a right finger sprain.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has missed 12 straight games due to a back and finger sprain, although he at least appears to be over the former ailment based on Philadelphia's injury report. The star guard's next chance to return comes Saturday against the Heat. In the meantime, the 76ers will continue to depend on the likes of Jared Butler, Jeff Dowtin and Jalen Hood-Schifino for the bulk of the backcourt minutes.
Mar 24, 2025
Out again Monday
Maxey (back) will not play Monday against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
No surprise here, as Maxey will miss his 12th game in a row. He remains without a timetable to return and can be considered doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Wizards.
Mar 22, 2025
Another absence coming
Maxey (back/finger) is out for Sunday's game versus the Hawks.
ANALYSIS

Mar 20, 2025
Ruled out for Friday
Maxey (back) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will miss a 10th straight game Friday for the 76ers while dealing with a back issue. Philadelphia will likely continue to go with Jared Butler at point guard, with Jeff Dowtin and Quentin Grimes helping shoulder the load in the backcourt.
Mar 18, 2025
Ruled out for Wednesday
Maxey (back/finger) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will miss a ninth straight game for the 76ers on Wednesday as he continues to nurse back and finger injuries. Jared Butler and Jeff Dowtin will likely continue to shoulder the load in the backcourt with the star point guard on the mend.
Mar 17, 2025
Out again Monday
Maxey (back) will not play Monday against the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will remain on the shelf for an eighth straight game, and he remains without a timetable for a return. His next chance to play comes Wednesday against the Thunder, but the 76ers are likely to remain cautious with their franchise point guard.
Mar 15, 2025
Won't play Sunday
Maxey (hand/back) is out for Sunday's game against the Mavericks, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Nick Nurse stated following Friday's game against the Mavericks that Maxey was not expected to suit up Sunday, and that'll indeed be the case, so he'll miss a seventh straight contest. The star guard should be able to return at some point during the team's upcoming six-game road trip, but a specific date for his return has yet to be provided. His next chance to play will come against the Rockets on Monday.
Mar 14, 2025
Doubtful for Sunday
Head coach Nick Nurse doesn't expect Maxey (back/finger) to play in Sunday's game against the Mavericks, but the star guard should be able to return at some point during the team's upcoming six-game road trip, Derek Bodner of AllPHLY.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Although Maxey is unlikely to end a six-game absence Sunday with back and finger sprains, he should be able to return during this road trip, which extends until the Mar. 24 matchup in New Orleans. Until Maxey gains clearance to play, Jared Butler and Jeff Dowtin figure to continue acting as the primary fantasy beneficiaries.
Mar 13, 2025
Another absence coming
Maxey (back/finger) is out for Friday's game versus the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey's absence streak will extend to six games Friday due to a lower back sprain and finger sprain. The star guard's next chance to suit up is Sunday's matchup with Dallas.
Mar 11, 2025
Not playing Wednesday
Maxey (back/finger) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Wednesday marks the fifth game in a row that Maxey will miss due to due to a lower back sprain and finger sprain. The fifth-year guard has recently progressed to on-court activities, and his next opportunity to return is Friday against the Pacers. Jared Butler should remain in the 76ers' starting lineup for as long as Maxey is sidelined.
Mar 10, 2025
Won't play Monday
Maxey (back) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Hawks, Austin Krell of OnPattison.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will miss a fourth straight game due to a lower back sprain and finger sprain. The point guard was able to take part in an on-court workout ahead of Sunday's win over the Jazz and may be able to suit up Wednesday in Toronto. In his absence, Lonnie Walker, Jared Butler and Jeff Dowtin are candidates for increased roles.
Mar 9, 2025
Questionable for Monday
Maxey (back) is questionable for Monday's game against the Hawks, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Nick Nurse stated that Maxey went through an on-court workout Sunday and is viewed as questionable for Monday. Maxey has missed the last three games due to a back strain, but he seems to be trending in the right direction.

Mar 5, 2025
Ruled out for Thursday
Maxey (back) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will miss a second straight game for the 76ers as he continues to deal with a back strain. Quentin Grimes will likely be the player the team leans on to pick up the slack in the backcourt as a starter, with Jeff Dowtin and Jared Butler as options off the bench for Philadelphia.
Mar 4, 2025
Ruled out against Minnesota
Maxey (back) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves, Alan Horton of the Timberwolves Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey may have avoided serious injury with his back issue, but he will be held out for Tuesday's clash against Minnesota. The shorthanded 76ers will likely have to lean on Lonnie Walker and Jeff Dowtin to pick up the slack in the backcourt for Philadelphia.
Mar 3, 2025

ANALYSIS
Head coach Nick Nurse stated after the game that Maxey was examined by two doctors and that the point guard appears to have avoided a serious injury. "At this point, nothing too serious," said Nurse. "That could change in the morning." Nurse also mentioned that Maxey would travel with the team to Minnesota, giving him a chance to suit up for the second half of the team's back-to-back.
Mar 3, 2025
Won't return Monday
Maxey has been ruled out for the rest of Monday's game against the Trail Blazers due to a back injury, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey injured his back while attempting a layup in the third quarter. He looked to be in considerable pain walking to the locker room, and the injury is severe enough for him to not return to Monday's contest. Maxey will end his night with five points (2-13 FG, 1-7 3Pt), six assists and one steal over 23 minutes. Jeff Dowtin and Lonnie Walker should see an increased workload for the rest of the game due to Maxey's absence.
Mar 3, 2025
Exits to locker room vs. Portland
Maxey sustained an apparent back injury in the third quarter of Monday's game against the Trail Blazers and exited to the locker room, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was seemingly in a considerable amount of pain following the fall, staying on the ground and grabbing at his back before walking to the locker room. If the superstar point guard is unable to return, Jeff Dowtin and Lonnie Walker will likely see an uptick in playing time the rest of the way.

High-volume 30-point outing
Maxey finished Wednesday's 110-105 loss to the 76ers with 30 points (12-32 FG, 0-10 3Pt, 6-6 FT), five assists, four rebounds, one steal and one block over 44 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey scored 22 points in the second half to reach the 30-point threshold for the 22nd time this season while helping the 76ers briefly retake the lead. However, Maxey missed all 10 of his three-point attempts, perhaps a sign that he is still working through a right finger sprain that caused him to be listed on Monday's injury report, and that will be worth monitoring ahead of Saturday's game against the Warriors. Maxey has shot 38.1 percent from the field (including 23.5 percent from three on 6.8 3PA/G) over his last five games.
Feb 24, 2025
Struggles in blowout loss
Maxey had 13 points (3-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-7 FT), two assists and one block over 29 minutes during Monday's 142-110 loss to Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Maxey delivered a lackluster performance during his limited run in the blowout loss, scoring fewer than 17 points for the third time across his last four appearances. The star point guard also put up 10 or fewer shot attempts for just the third game this season, all of which have occurred across his last four outings. Additionally, the 24-year-old struggled in distributing the rock, logging less than three assists for just the seventh time this season.
Feb 24, 2025
Cleared to play Monday
Maxey (finger) is available for Monday's game against the Bulls, Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will play through a right finger sprain Monday, and he would figure to be able to handle a normal workload. Over his last 11 games, the star guard is averaging 30.1 points, 6.4 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 3.5 three-pointers in 38.4 minutes.
Feb 23, 2025
Dealing with finger sprain
Maxey is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Bulls due to a right finger sprain, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey dropped 31 points during the 76ers' 105-103 loss to the Nets on Saturday, but it appears he may injured his right finger in the process. He'll likely go through pregame warmups before Monday's game before a decision is made on his availability. Jared Butler would be the top candidate to slide into the starting five if Maxey is not cleared to play.
Feb 22, 2025
Adds another 30-point effort
Maxey notched 31 points (10-23 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 6-6 FT), two rebounds, five assists and one block over 43 minutes during Saturday's 105-103 loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Maxey stepped up with 31 points for the 76ers while Joel Embiid and Paul George combined to score just 29 points, but it wasn't enough in Saturday's last-second defeat. It was the 21st game of the year with at least 30 points for Maxey, who is averaging 30.1 points, 6.4 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 3.5 three-pointers in 38.4 minutes over his last 11 outings.
Feb 21, 2025
Light usage in loss
Maxey (knee) recorded 16 points (6-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven assists, five rebounds and one steal across 34 minutes in Thursday's 124-104 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Making his return from a one-game absence due to right knee contusion, Maxey handled a normal minutes load before checking out of the game for good with 4:50 remaining in the fourth quarter amid the blowout. Though he shot the ball efficiently, his output was more limited than usual due to his 14.3 percent usage rate, which was well below his season-long rate of 29.4 percent. When both Joel Embiid and Paul George are available, Maxey will have to sacrifice some touches, but the low usage rate he handled Thursday still looks to be an outlier.
Feb 19, 2025
Available for Thursday
Maxey (knee) will be available for Thursday's game against Boston.
ANALYSIS
Maxey missed Philadelphia's final game before the All-Star break with a minor knee contusion, as the 76ers opted to get him some extended rest. In addition to Maxey, Joel Embiid (rest) has also been given the green light to suit up. There's no word of any restrictions for either player.
Feb 12, 2025
Downgraded to out
Maxey (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Nets, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was a late addition to the injury report with a right knee contusion and will ultimately miss Philadelphia's final game before the All-Star break. Coach Nick Nurse said Maxey took knee-to-knee contact during Tuesday's loss to Toronto, but the extent of the injury remains unclear. In Maxey's absence, Jared Butler, Ricky Council and Jeff Dowtin are candidates for increased roles.
Feb 12, 2025
Questionable Wednesday
Maxey has been listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Nets for an undisclosed reason, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is coming off arguably his worst performance of the season, finishing with a season-low five points in Tuesday's loss to the Raptors. The 76ers will be shorthanded in the backcourt Wednesday, with Kyle Lowry (hip) and Eric Gordon (wrist) already ruled out. If the up-and-coming guard cannot play against Brooklyn, Philadelphia could turn to Quentin Grimes and Jared Butler to pick up the slack.
Feb 11, 2025
Struggles in Tuesday's loss
Maxey scored five points (1-9 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and three assists over 34 minutes during Tuesday's 106-103 loss to Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Maxey entered Tuesday's contest having scored at least 30 points in eight of his last nine outings while shooting 52.6 percent from the field. That hot shooting streak didn't carry over into Tuesday's game, with his lone field goal coming at the 1:49 mark of the fourth quarter. It was a rough outing for Maxey, but he'll have a prime opportunity to turn things around in the second game of the 76ers' back-to-back set Wednesday against the Nets as Joel Embiid will likely sit out in order to manage a lingering left knee injury.
Feb 9, 2025
Explodes for 39 points in defeat
Maxey ended Sunday's 135-127 loss to the Bucks with 39 points (16-23 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five assists, four rebounds, one block and one steal in 40 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey torched the nets while recording a team-high mark in points, albeit in a losing effort. The star point guard also sank five or more triples for the 14th time this season. Te 23-year-old has been spectacular of late, logging eight outings with 30 or more points over his last 10 appearances. Moreover, Maxey has now racked up 27 or more points in each of his last 18 outings.
Feb 7, 2025
Team-high 27 points Friday
Maxey tallied 27 points (9-20 FG, 4-10 3PT, 5-6 FT), seven assists, three rebounds and two steals over 39 minutes during Friday's 125-112 loss to Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Friday broke Maxey's seven-game streak of scoring 30-plus points, but the All-Star guard still managed to pace the 76ers in a game that saw Philadelphia down by as many as 34 points. Maxey is averaging a career-best 27.8 points per game this season, but since the beginning of January that number has jumped to 30.2 points per game on 46.8 percent shooting, along with 7.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals over 39.1 minutes per contest.
Feb 6, 2025
Scores 31 points Wednesday
Maxey chipped in 31 points (11-28 FG, 3-11 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds, five assists and four steals in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 108-101 loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Maxey extended his impressive stretch with games of at least 30 points to seven contests, and he's been doing the heavy lifting on offense in a season where Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George have missed considerable time due to injuries. Maxey is averaging a robust stat line of 34.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.7 steals per game during that aforementioned seven-game stretch.
Feb 4, 2025
Continues to roll Tuesday
Maxey closed Tuesday's 118-116 win over the Mavericks with 33 points (13-22 FG, 3-11 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four rebounds, 13 assists and two steals across 40 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey and the injury-plagued 76ers got some reinforcements with the return of Joel Embiid (knee), but a slight downtick in usage didn't prevent the star guard from delivering his 18th game of the season with at least 30 points along with his eighth double-double in 2024-25. Maxey has scored at least 28 points in nine consecutive outings, a stretch where he's averaged 34.1 points, 7.9 assists, 3.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 4.1 threes in 39.1 minutes. As long as Maxey is able to continually handle such heavy workloads, he should remain an elite fantasy option even when Philadelphia's roster gets back to full strength.
Feb 2, 2025
Team-high 34 points not enough
Maxey provided 34 points (9-21 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 11-11 FT), three rebounds and six assists across 40 minutes during Sunday's 118-110 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Maxey continues to handle an extreme level of usage for the banged-up 76ers, registering his fifth straight game with at least 30 points, albeit in a losing effort Sunday. The star guard may not have been named an All-Star in 2024-25, but he's been on a tear for the past two weeks with averages of 34.3 points, 7.3 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 4.3 three-pointers over his last eight games. Maxey should remain an elite fantasy option while Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George (finger) remain off the floor.
Feb 1, 2025
Erupts for game-high 42
Maxey ended with 42 points (15-26 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 6-8 FT), two rebounds, nine assists and two steals across 39 minutes during Friday's 137-134 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
The fifth-year guard racked up 40-plus points for the second time in the last three games, and the fourth time in 2024-25. Maxey continues to see sky-high usage while Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George (finger) are both sidelined, although either or both could could return any day now. Maxey has delivered at least 28 points in 13 straight appearances, averaging 32.3 points, 7.2 assists, 3.6 threes, 3.5 boards and 1.5 steals over that stretch.
Jan 29, 2025
Pours in game-high 30 points
Maxey racked up a game-high 30 points (12-24 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, eight assists and one block in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 117-104 win over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
After dropping 43 points in Tuesday's win over the Lakers, Maxey was back at it Wednesday with his 15th game of the year scoring at least 30 points to lead the 76ers. The star guard has averaged 31.8 points, 6.9 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 3.2 three-pointers across his last 10 outings. As long as Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George (finger) remain sidelined, Maxey should continue pouring in the points as Philadelphia's focal point on offense.
Jan 28, 2025
Dominates Lakers with 43 points
Maxey notched a game-high 43 points (15-26 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 9-9 FT), three rebounds, two assists and two steals over 36 minutes during Tuesday's 118-104 win over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey scored 27 points in the first half and had 41 through three quarters, so he could have put together an even bigger performance had Tuesday's contest not been out of hand down the stretch. The star guard enjoyed his third 40-point effort of the season and continues to pile up the points over his last nine games, where he's averaged 32.0 points, 6.8 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 3.4 three-pointers in 39.8 minutes. With Joel Embiid (knee) out and Paul George (finger) questionable for Wednesday's tilt against the Kings, the 76ers may have to keep depending heavily upon Maxey as their primary playmaker.
Jan 26, 2025
Goes for 31 points, nine dimes
Maxey logged 31 points (12-23 FG, 5-13 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, nine assists, one block and two steals across 43 minutes during Saturday's 109-97 victory over Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has been on a roll of late and has been one of the most productive players in the NBA over the last few weeks, with numbers to back that up. This outing marked the 10th straight time in which he scored at least 28 points, a span in which he's averaging a robust stat line of 30.5 points, 7.5 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals per contest.
Jan 24, 2025
Continues to roll in win
Maxey posted 29 points (9-18 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 7-7 FT), three rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two steals across 40 minutes during Friday's 132-129 victory over Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Maxey went toe-to-toe with Cleveland's dynamic backcourt duo in a back-and-forth slugfest Friday, and he even got plenty of support, with five other 76ers players hitting double-digit scoring figures. Over his last seven outings, Maxey has averaged 30.6 points, 7.1 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 3.1 threes. The 24-year-old appears to be on pace for his second consecutive All-Star nod in 2024-25, and he should continue to dominate playmaking opportunities in the absence of Joel Embiid (foot).
Jan 22, 2025
Double-doubles in blowout loss
Maxey registered 28 points (11-21 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two rebounds, 10 assists and two steals across 34 minutes during Tuesday's 144-109 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was the lone bright spot for the 76ers in this blowout 35-point loss, and he's found a way to remain relevant in fantasy despite the team's disappointing season and overall struggles. The efficiency isn't always there, but fantasy managers shouldn't be overly worried about that as long as he keeps producing at a high volume. This was Maxey's eighth straight game with at least 28 points, a span in which he's averaging 30.6 points, 7.4 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.
Jan 19, 2025
Dominates offensively in defeat
Maxey recorded 37 points (14-28 FG, 6-15 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 41 minutes during Sunday's 123-109 loss to Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Maxey did it all for Philadelphia offensively in Sunday's contest, lighting it up from deep while leading all players in scoring and assists while hauling in a team-high-tying rebound total in a balanced showcase. Maxey, who ended three points shy of the 40-point mark, matched a season high in threes made while posting at least 37 points in four contests.
Jan 19, 2025
Scores 28 points in loss
Maxey supplied 28 points (10-23 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), one rebound and three assists in 39 minutes during Saturday's 115-102 loss to Indiana.
ANALYSIS
Maxey had to carry most of the burden on offense for the 76ers due to the absences of Paul George (groin) and Joel Embiid (knee), and the star guard responded by notching his fifth straight outing with at least 28 points. Maxey's usage rate should continue to be very high as long as the 76ers don't have their Big Three healthy and available, meaning his fantasy value should continue to be sky-high regardless of the team's recent struggles in the win-loss column.
Jan 15, 2025
Good to go Wednesday
Maxey (hand) will play Wednesday against the Knicks, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey missed Monday's game against Oklahoma City due to injury, but is slated to make his return against New York. Maxey is averaging 25.8 points, 5.8 assists, 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 0.4 blocks over 37.5 minutes this season.
Jan 15, 2025
Questionable for Wednesday
Maxey (hand) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Paul George (ankle) is also questionable, while Joel Embiid (foot) is out once again. Maxey was unable to play Tuesday against the Thunder, and it allowed Jeff Dowtin to record a career-high points in the loss. Reggie Jackson drew the start in Maxey's place, but he played just 17 minutes.
Jan 14, 2025
Ruled out Tuesday
Maxey (hand) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Thunder, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite being able to go through shootaround Tuesday, Maxey will miss the matchup against Oklahoma City. Reggie Jackson and Jeff Dowtin could see more time on the floor for Philadelphia with the rising star on the mend.
Jan 14, 2025
Participates in shootaround Tuesday
Maxey (hand), who is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Thunder, was able to participate in the club's shootaround, Dave Uram of KYW Newsradio reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was a late addition to the injury report due to a sprained left hand, though his ability to go through shootaround bodes well for his availability Tuesday. Over his last five outings, the star point guard has averaged 27.4 points, 8.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 39.0 minutes per game. If Maxey is sidelined against Oklahoma City, Reggie Jackson and Jeff Dowtin should receive a bump in playing time.
Jan 14, 2025
Iffy for Tuesday
Maxey is questionable for Tuesday's game versus the Thunder with a left hand sprain.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was a late addition to the injury report which is a big concern for fantasy managers. Tuesday's game is the front end of a back-to-back set, and it's possible the 76ers will look to get him a day off for one of those games. If Maxey is held out Tuesday, guys like Reggie Jackson, Eric Gordon and Ricky Council could potentially step into larger roles.
Jan 12, 2025
Game-high 29 points in narrow loss
Maxey finished with 29 points (7-19 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 12-13 FT), five assists, four boards and three steals in 39 minutes of action during Sunday's 102-99 loss to the Magic.
ANALYSIS
The star guard led all scorers on the night, but he struggled to score efficiently from the field and was ultimately unable to give his team the edge in the wire-to-wire contest. With Joel Embiid (foot) remaining out, the offensive load once again fell to Maxey, who, despite his shooting woes, did a good job getting to the line. In Embiid's four-game absence, Maxey has averaged 29.8 points, 8.3 assists and 2.0 steals on 45.0 percent shooting from the field. It's unclear when the big man listed as day-to-day will make his return, but until he does, the offense will continue to run through Maxey.
Jan 10, 2025
Team-high 30 points not enough
Maxey chipped in a team-high 30 points (10-21 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 8-8 FT), six rebounds, 12 assists and one steal over 41 minutes during Friday's 123-115 loss to New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was excellent for the 76ers on Friday despite a rough shooting night from downtown, recording a team-high 30 points and 12 assists, but it wasn't enough to prevent an upset loss to the Pelicans in Joel Embiid's (foot) absence. Over his last 10 games, the star guard has averaged 26.9 points, 7.7 assists, 3.1 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 3.4 threes. With Embiid's status up in the air for Sunday against a Magic team that ranks second in the NBA in defensive efficiency rating (106.7), Maxey could continue to take on all the usage he can handle.
Jan 8, 2025
Leads all scorers with 29 points
Maxey supplied a game-high 29 points (11-27 FG, 3-14 3Pt, 4-6 FT), three rebounds, six assists and two steals across 39 minutes during Wednesday's 109-103 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
It wasn't Maxey's best night shooting the ball, which has been a common theme for him when both Joel Embiid (foot) and Paul George (groin) are sidelined, but he was still able to deliver a game-high 29 points to help power the 76ers to victory. Across his last nine outings, Maxey is averaging 26.6 points, 7.2 assists, 2.8 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 3.6 threes in 38.5 minutes. As long as head coach Nick Nurse keeps Maxey among the league leaders in minutes per game, the star guard should have little trouble being one the most productive guards in the Eastern Conference going forward.
Jan 7, 2025
Delivers game-high 31 in loss
Maxey provided a game-high 31 points (11-25 FG, 6-14 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 10 assists and two steals over 44 minutes during Monday's 109-99 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
The double-double was Maxey's fifth of the season in 28 appearances, and the star guard topped 30 points for the fourth time in the last eight games. Over that stretch, he's averaging 26.3 points, 7.3 assists, 3.6 threes, 2.8 boards and 2.4 steals, and he's been especially effective at the defensive end, recording multiple steals in six of those contests.
Jan 3, 2025
Four steals offset weak efficiency
Maxey provided 14 points (4-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, six assists, two blocks and four steals in 32 minutes during Thursday's 139-105 loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
On the heels of recording a season-high five steals in Wednesday's loss to Sacramento, Maxey collected four more swipes on the second half of Philadelphia's back-to-back despite scoring his fewest points since a shortened eight-point outing in the Nov. 20 loss to Memphis. Across his last nine outings, the star guard is averaging 27.9 points, 6.2 assists, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 4.0 threes. Maxey is shooting a career-low 42.1 percent from the floor this season overall, but now that superstar center Joel Embiid is back in the mix, fantasy managers have reason to be optimistic the former will improve on that clip as the campaign rolls on.
Jan 2, 2025
Extends impressive streak
Maxey accumulated 27 points (10-23 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, six assists, one block and four steals across 42 minutes during Wednesday's 113-107 loss to the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Maxey made his presence felt in more ways than just scoring, as evidenced by his six assists and four steals, though it's undeniable that he made most of his impact as a scoring weapon in a game where the 76ers didn't have Joel Embiid (foot). Maxey has been on a tear in recent weeks and has surpassed the 20-point plateau in his last 10 games, a stretch in which he's averaging 28.4 points, 6.5 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game.
Dec 31, 2024
Puts up 23 points in win Monday
Maxey accumulated 23 points (7-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), one rebound, three assists and one steal across 36 minutes during Monday's 125-103 win over Portland.
ANALYSIS
The 76ers had one of their most dominant victories of the season Monday, and Maxey played a prominent role in that outcome since he was the team's second-best offensive weapon behind Joel Embiid. Maxey is riding his most productive stretch of the season in recent weeks and has surpassed the 20-point plateau in his last eight contests. He's averaging 28.6 points, 6.6 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game while shooting 41.1 percent from beyond the arc in that span.
Dec 29, 2024
Scores team-high 32 points in win
Maxey finished with 32 points (9-23 FG, 5-13 3Pt, 9-10 FT), six assists, one block and two steals across 41 minutes during Saturday's 114-111 win over Utah.
ANALYSIS
Maxey and Joel Embiid each scored 32 points during the narrow win. Maxey drained five three-pointers, continuing a stellar run from downtown where he's now converted 18 three-pointers over the last four games. He's also exceeded 30 points in four of his last six contests, with a huge 40-point performance against Charlotte as the highlight.
Dec 26, 2024
Spectacular Christmas Day display
Maxey registered 33 points (12-23 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, 12 assists, one block and three steals over 41 minutes during Wednesday's 118-114 win over Boston.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was spectacular on Christmas Day, leading all scorers with 33 points and posting his fourth double-double of the season by dishing out a game-high 12 dimes. The All-Star guard has been on a tear lately, averaging a whopping 28.9 points, 7.1 assists, 5.4 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 4.1 three-pointers in 38.8 minutes over his last seven games. As long as head coach Nick Nurse continues to put such a heavy workload on his shoulders in terms of minutes per game, Maxey should have little trouble being one of the most productive guards in the league going forward.
Dec 23, 2024
Near triple-double vs. Spurs
Maxey chipped in 32 points (12-25 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 10 rebounds, eight assists and three steals in 41 minutes during Monday's 111-106 win over the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Maxey took on a larger offensive role in the second half of Monday's game after Joel Embiid was ejected in the second quarter. Maxey was two assists shy from registering his second triple-double of the regular season, and he connected on five three-pointers for the third time in the 76ers' last four games. For the month of December, Maxey is averaging 24.7 points, 5.9 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals over 37.9 minutes per game.
Dec 23, 2024
Will play Monday against Spurs
Maxey (illness) is available for Monday's game against San Antonio, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was a late addition to the injury report due to an illness, but the All-Star guard will play Monday. Over his last 10 games, Maxey has averaged 25.7 points, 6.1 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 2.2 steals over 38.0 minutes per contest.
Dec 23, 2024
Probable for Monday
Maxey (illness) is probable for Monday's game against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was a late addition to the injury report. Despite being under the weather, it appears as though he will give it a go against the Spurs anyways. Maxey is averaging 23.8 points and 5.6 assists through eight December showings.
Dec 22, 2024
Drains five treys Saturday
Maxey had 27 points (8-22 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 6-8 FT), one rebound, three assists and one steal in 33 minutes during Saturday's 126-99 loss to the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was sharp from beyond the arc and drained at least three treys for the fifth consecutive game. However, and despite the 27-point haul, that was perhaps the lone positive aspect in Maxey's outing, as he went 3-for-12 in two-point shots. Maxey has scored at least 22 points in five straight contests and is trending in the right direction following a subpar start to the campaign, but the lack of efficiency remains an issue, particularly in games where Joel Embiid (knee) isn't around. Maxey remains valuable across all formats, and while fantasy managers would welcome an uptick in efficiency, he'll remain a valuable asset as long as he continues to surpass the 20-point mark regularly while also putting up decent peripheral stats.
Dec 16, 2024
Drops 40 points in victory
Maxey contributed 40 points (12-28 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 10-13 FT), five rebounds, five assists and four steals across 40 minutes during Monday's 121-108 win over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Maxey led the 76ers in points, steals and three-pointers made while logging his second 40-plus-point outing through 18 regular-season appearances. The superstar delivered a stellar performance from beyond the arc while tying his season-high mark in threes. Maxey continues to string together impressive fantasy outings, and he should serve as the club's top option while Joel Embiid (sinus fracture) is sidelined.
Dec 14, 2024
Scores team-high 22 points
Maxey contributed 22 points (7-15 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 5-7 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 37 minutes during Friday's 121-107 loss to the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Although Maxey scored a team-high 22 points Friday, he committed a game-high six turnovers, with five of the giveaways coming in the first half of play. Over his last nine contests, Maxey is averaging 23.3 points, 6.2 assists, 4.1 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 2.8 three-pointers per game. However, the All-Star guard is shooting a career-low 40.8 percent from the field over 17 games this year with all the added usage headed his direction on the injury-plagued 76ers. With Joel Embiid (nose) suffering a sinus fracture in this one, Maxey's efficiency may not be ready to take a substantial jump until the superstar big man has a clean bill of health.

Shines in triple-double outing
Maxey recorded 25 points (10-22 FG, 3-12 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, 14 assists and one steal over 42 minutes during Sunday's 108-100 victory over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Maxey did it all for Philadelphia in Sunday's contest, leading all players in assists while ending second on the team in scoring and rebounds in a dominant triple-double performance. Maxey posted his first triple-double of the season, setting new season high marks in both rebounds and assists to go along with his eighth outing with at least 25 points.
Dec 7, 2024
Three more steals Friday
Maxey totaled 16 points (5-17 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 5-7 FT), two rebounds, two assists and three steals across 35 minutes during Friday's 102-94 victory over Orlando.
ANALYSIS
The fifth-year point guard continues to struggle from long range, and Maxey has gone just 2-for-21 on three-point attempts over the last three games. He's compensated with some quick hands on defense, and Maxey has recorded multiple steals in seven straight contests, averaging 23.3 points, 5.7 assists, 3.3 boards, 2.9 steals and 2.7 threes over that stretch.
Dec 5, 2024
Inefficient 16 points in loss
Maxey recorded 16 points (7-19 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, six assists and two steals over 38 minutes during Wednesday's 106-102 loss to the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Maxey ran into tough sledding Wednesday with the defense of Jalen Suggs, going 0-for-7 from three-point land and turning the ball over four times. Maxey is doing what he can to keep the 5-15 76ers from getting buried in the Eastern Conference standings, but his shooting efficiency has suffered on the campaign as a whole with stars Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George (rest) bouncing in and out of Philadelphia's lineup. Fantasy managers will have to deal with some inefficient nights out of Maxey until the squad gets healthier, but the 24-year-old star guard is still averaging a prolific 24.5 points, 6.3 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 3.0 three-pointers in 35.3 minutes per game over his last six appearances.
Nov 30, 2024
Scores 28 points in win
Maxey ended Saturday's 111-96 victory over the Pistons with 28 points (11-24 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, six assists and two steals across 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey carried the 76ers in scoring Saturday, and even though Paul George logged 26 minutes in his return, it's clear Maxey was the go-to player in this victory. He missed six games in a row between Nov. 8 and Nov. 18 due to a hamstring injury, but he's looked terrific once he shook off the rust. Maxey is entering a hot streak offensively and has posted 25 or more points in three of his past four appearances.
Nov 28, 2024
Big night not enough Wednesday
Maxey ended Wednesday's 122-115 overtime loss to Houston with 39 points (14-34 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds, 10 assists and five steals in 45 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The 39-point haul was Maxey's second-best scoring output of the season, but his efforts were not enough to hand the 76ers the win after pushing a red-hot Rockets team to overtime. Maxey has been tasked with leading the 76ers offensively due to the absences of Paul George (knee) and Joel Embiid (knee), and while the results aren't there, he's certainly making an impact from a fantasy perspective. Through 11 appearances, Maxey is putting up 25.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.0 steals per contest.
Nov 25, 2024
Scores 17 points in loss Sunday
Maxey closed with 17 points (5-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists and two steals in 30 minutes during Sunday's 125-99 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey had a rough showing Sunday, but to be fair, the entire 76ers offense struggled. Maxey will continue receiving an increased workload with both Paul George (knee) and Joel Embiid (knee) sidelined, meaning he'll have plenty of opportunities to continue putting up big numbers across the board even if he hasn't been efficient with his shot.
Nov 22, 2024
Set to receive increased workload
Coach Nick Nurse said Maxey will play more minutes in Friday's game versus the Nets than he did in Wednesday's game against Memphis, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is set to play his second straight contest Friday after missing six games with a hamstring injury. While the star guard is set to play more than the 20 minutes he logged against Memphis, it will likely take him a few more games to fully work back up to his season average of 37.1 minutes per contest.
Nov 21, 2024
Struggles in return from injury
Maxey ended with eight points (3-13 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal across 20 minutes during Wednesday's 117-111 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Maxey had a woeful performance in his new 76ers loss, as his eight points were a season-low mark for him after he missed 10 of his 13 shots from the field. Maxey will look to shake off the rust from the six-game absence when the Sixers take on the Nets on Friday, and the fifth-year guard could be in line for an uptick in his usage rate in case Paul George (knee) is unable to play.
Nov 20, 2024
Will play Wednesday
Maxey (hamstring) is available for Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies, Tony Jones of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 76ers need all the help they can get to start turning their season around, and having Maxey in the backcourt should provide them a huge boost. Maxey is returning from a six-game absence.
Nov 19, 2024
Deemed questionable for Wednesday
Maxey (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has been sidelined for Philadelphia's previous six contests due to a right hamstring strain but could return to action against Memphis. With Kyle Lowry (hip) out for the next three games, Maxey will likely share the backcourt with rookie Jared McCain when he's available.
Nov 19, 2024
Likely to return this week
Maxey (hamstring) is expected to return to action for the 76ers this week, either Wednesday in Memphis or Friday against the Nets in Philadelphia, sources tell Shams Charania of ESPN.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has missed Philadelphia's last six games with a right hamstring strain, but the team announced last Friday that the star point guard resumed on-court work. He was scheduled to be re-evaluated early this week, and though the team has yet to provide an official update on his status, Maxey seems to have responded well to the recent increase in activity. Whenever he makes his return to action, Maxey will be playing alongside both Paul George and Joel Embiid for the first time all season. George (left knee bone bruise) and Embiid (left knee injury recovery, three-game suspension) got off to delayed starts to the season before making their debuts earlier this month, with Maxey playing just two games with George and none with Embiid before going down with the hamstring injury.
Nov 15, 2024
Resuming on-court work
The 76ers announced Friday that Maxey (hamstring) has resumed on-court work and will be re-evaluated early next week, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was diagnosed with a right hamstring strain after leaving a Nov. 6 loss to the Clippers early. He was given a one-week re-evaluation timeline, so everything appears to be going as planned. Maxey remains out for Friday's game in Orlando, and the 76ers have two more road games -- Monday in Miami and Wednesday in Memphis -- before they return home to face the Nets on Nov. 22.
Nov 7, 2024
To be re-evaluated in one week
Maxey sustained a right hamstring strain and will be re-evaluated in approximately one week, Kyle Neubeck of AllPHLY.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey suffered the hamstring strain during Wednesday's loss to the Clippers and will miss at least one week. There is a good chance the star guard misses additional time, though his next opportunity to suit up is expected to come next Friday against the Magic. Jared McCain, Kyle Lowry and Reggie Jackson are all candidates for an increased role while Maxey works his way back to playing form.
Nov 7, 2024
Out multiple weeks
The 76ers announced Thursday that Maxey is expected to miss a couple of weeks due to a right hamstring injury, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey injured his right hamstring during Wednesday's game versus the Clippers. Although a full evaluation will come later in the day Thursday, the star guard is expected to be sidelined for an extended period. In Maxey's absence, Jared McCain, Kyle Lowry and Reggie Jackson are all candidates to receive increased playing time.
Nov 7, 2024
Won't return Wednesday
Maxey has been ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday's game against the Clippers due to right hamstring soreness, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports. He'll finish with 12 points (5-13 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal across 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was replaced by Jared McCain to start the fourth quarter and it's now known he's dealing with hamstring soreness. The 24-year-old has been utilized heavily to start the season as Paul George and Joel Embiid (knee/suspension) were unavailable, averaging 41 minutes per game prior to Wednesday's tilt. McCain and Kyle Lowry figure to see a bump in playing time while Maxey is sidelined. Maxey's next chance to play will come Friday against the Lakers.
Nov 5, 2024
Pops for team-high 32 on Monday
Maxey closed Monday's 118-116 loss to the Suns with 32 points (12-22 FG, 6-14 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 41 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The fifth-year guard topped 30 points for the third time in the last four games, but even with Paul George making his 76ers debut, Maxey didn't get quite enough help to steal a win on the road. Maxey's usage should decline once George is up to speed and Joel Embiid (knee) is back in action as well, but he's taken full advantage of his spot as Philadelphia's lead dog so far, averaging what would be a career-high 30.2 points per game to begin the 2024-25 campaign.
Oct 31, 2024
Another strong outing
Maxey amassed 32 points (12-25 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 6-7 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 40 minutes during Wednesday's 105-95 loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
With Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George (knee) both out, Maxey has taken over as the 76ers' top option on offense. Maxey has used that increased workload to score at least 30 points in back-to-back games. The 24-year-old guard is averaging 31.5 points, 4.5 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 42.0 minutes across four appearances this season, albeit on 37.8/22.9/81.6 shooting splits.
Oct 27, 2024
Explodes for 45 points in win
Maxey produced 45 points (14-32 FG, 5-17 3Pt, 12-15 FT), four rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal over 48 minutes during Sunday's 118-114 overtime win over Indiana.
ANALYSIS
Maxey tallied only seven points in the first half while shooting 2-for-6 from the field. However, the 23-year-old scored at a high volume in the second half and helped the club secure the overtime victory. Through three regular-season outings, Maxey has three games with 24-plus points, though he has struggled with efficiency as the clear No. 1 option with Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George (knee) sidelined.
Oct 26, 2024
Woeful shooting display
Maxey had 24 points (6-23 FG, 2-12 3Pt, 10-12 FT), two rebounds, four assists and one steal in 41 minutes during Friday's 115-107 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
The Sixers have started the season with back-to-back losses, and while Maxey has posted solid numbers from a fantasy perspective, managers who drafted him didn't expect him to attempt over 20 shots per game while shooting a meager 27 percent from the field. Small-sample size applies here, and the situation will be different once Paul George (knee) and Joel Embiid (knee) are back in the mix, but for the time being, Maxey should continue to rack up points and tons of shots per game.
Oct 24, 2024
Scores 25 in loss Wednesday
Maxey had 25 points (10-31 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 39 minutes during Wednesday's 124-109 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
The 76ers were without Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George (knee) for this season opener, so it wasn't surprising to see Maxey operating as the team's go-to threat on offense, but he lacked support from his teammates to avoid the defeat. Maxey has proven he can lead an offense in the past, and even though the absences of George and Embiid conspire against the 76ers' contender status, they should boost Maxey's fantasy upside, at least on a short-term scenario.
Oct 20, 2024
Healthy ahead of regular season
Coach Nick Nurse said Sunday that Maxey (thumb) is "okay," and he was only pulled from Friday's preseason matchup against the Magic as a precautionary measure, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey logged five minutes before being pulled due to a right thumb contusion Friday. However, the 23-year-old is expected to be fully healthy ahead of Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Bucks and should not face a minutes restriction to begin the season.
Oct 18, 2024
Won't return Friday
Maxey is dealing with a right thumb contusion and won't return to Friday's preseason game against the Magic, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 76ers are being extremely cautious with their star players and aren't going to risk Maxey in a meaningless preseason game. The star guard will sit out the rest of the contest with the focus of being 100 percent healthy for the regular-season opener against Milwaukee next Wednesday.
Oct 15, 2024
Dishes seven dimes vs. Hawks
Maxey finished Monday's 104-89 preseason win over the Hawks with 14 points (5-18 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven assists, two rebounds and two steals across 26 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey struggled with his efficiency from the field Monday, but he was able to make that up by leading the team in assists. Maxey is coming off his first All-Star selection during the 2023-24 regular season, during which he averaged a career-high 25.9 points per game along with 6.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals across 37.5 minutes per game over 70 contests. Maxey could see increased duties at the start of the 2024-25 regular season if Paul George -- who suffered a left knee injury during Monday's contest -- were to miss time.
Oct 14, 2024
Will play Monday
Maxey (rest) will start in Monday's preseason against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Maxey, Paul George and Kelly Oubre are all back in action after resting during Saturday's matchup against the Celtics, which was the second night of a back-to-back set. Maxey posted 21 points (7-14 FG) in 26 minutes during Friday's preseason loss to Minnesota.
Oct 12, 2024
Not expected to play Saturday
Maxey is not in the starting five for Saturday's preseason matchup against the Celtics, and he is not expected to play due to rest purposes.
ANALYSIS
Coach Nick Nurse said Saturday that the 76ers will rest its vets on the second day of a back-to-back road trip, according to Celtics beat reporter Bobby Krivitsky. The 23-year-old's next chance to suit up will be Monday against the Hawks.
Oct 11, 2024
Puts up 21 points in loss
Maxey finished with 21 points (7-14 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two assists and a steal across 26 minutes in Friday's 121-111 preseason loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was one of two Philadelphia starters who reached the 20-point mark, with Paul George being the other, and this game was a fair display of how the 76ers offense would look without Joel Embiid. Maxey seems to be playing better with each passing game in the playoffs, and he should be ready to go once the 76ers open their regular season against the Bucks on Oct. 23.
Oct 8, 2024
Goes for 15 points
Maxey delivered 15 points (5-7 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), a rebound and three assists across 12 minutes in Monday's 139-84 preseason win over the NBL Breakers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was one of four 76ers who scored 15 points in this win, with Guerschon Yabusele, Jared McCain and Reggie Jackson being the others. Maxey was the only "Big Three" member who featured in this game for the 76ers, and he's in line to operate as the team's third offensive option behind Joel Embiid and Paul George. That might lead to a slight regression in his numbers following a career-best year in 2023-24, but it shouldn't be enough to stop considering Maxey as one of the best guards in The Association for fantasy purposes.
Jul 1, 2024
Nets five-year extension
Maxey agreed Monday with the 76ers on a five-year, $204 million max contract extension, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Wojnarowski, the deal is fully guaranteed and contains no player or team options for any of the seasons. The 76ers have thus locked in Maxey through the 2028-29 season, with the 23-year-old guard earning the big deal on the heels of an 2023-24 campaign in which he averaged career highs in points (25.9), assists (6.2), rebounds (3.7), three-pointers (3.0), steals (1.0), blocks (0.6) and minutes (37.5 ) over his 70 appearances while also earning his first All-Star appearance along the way. Despite coming off a breakthrough season and now being rewarded with a lavish extension, Maxey could see his offensive numbers take a slight dip during the upcoming season after the 76ers added another All-Star talent in Paul George in free agency to form a Big Three with Maxey and 2022-23 league MVP Joel Embiid.
May 3, 2024
Poor shooting in Game 6 loss
Maxey recorded 17 points (6-18 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, five assists and two steals over 43 minutes during Thursday's 118-115 loss to the Knicks in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was coming off a heroic performance in Game 5, scoring 46 points and making some clutch buckets to keep the 76ers alive in the series. However, he wasn't able to deliver in Game 6 and finished with more field goal attempts than points scored. Maxey posted her lowest-scoring tally of the series in Thursday's loss, but he still averaged 29.8 points, 6.8 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game in the first round of the playoffs.
May 1, 2024
Erupts for 46 points
Maxey amassed 46 points (17-30 FG, 7-12 3Pt, 5-8 FT), five rebounds and nine assists in 52 minutes during Tuesday's 112-106 overtime victory over the Knicks in Game 5 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Joel Embiid clearly wasn't 100 percent, so Maxey stepped up in a big way for the 76ers. He used his quickness to get whatever look he wanted on the court, and he hit a three-pointer near halfcourt to send this game to overtime. This series will head back to Philadelphia for Game 6 on Thursday with the Knicks leading 3-2.
Apr 28, 2024
Boosts offense in balanced outing
Maxey had 23 points (8-21 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, six assists and one steal over 43 minutes during Sunday's 97-92 loss to the Knicks in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Maxey provided Philadelphia with a well-rounded outing in the Game 4 defeat, connecting on a team-high-tying trio of threes while ending as one of two players with 20 or more points to go along with a half-dozen rebounds and assists. Maxey has been one of the 76ers' best offensive producers in the first-round series, surpassing the 20-point mark in all four outings. Expect Maxey to continue to produce like he has all season, and maybe even more, in a win-or-go-home Game 5 against New York.
Apr 23, 2024
Named Most Improved Player
Maxey was awarded the 2023-24 Most Improved Player on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Maxey enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2023-24 after taking over the lead ball-handler role due to the departure of James Harden from Philadelphia. Maxey was able to improve his season averages of 20.3 points, 3.5 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 0.8 steals in 33.6 minutes from 2022-23 to 25.9 points, 6.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 37.5 minutes in 2023-24. While the 23-year-old's shooting splits decreased from 48.1/43.4/84.5 to 45.0/37.3/86.8, his jump as a playmaker and volume scorer helped him form one of the NBA's most dynamic duos alongside Joel Embiid.
Apr 23, 2024
Records 35/10 double-double in loss
Maxey notched 35 points (12-22 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 6-6 FT), nine rebounds and 10 assists in 44 minutes during Monday's 104-101 loss to the Knicks in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
Maxey scored 15 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter and was the primary catalyst in a massive rally that erased the Knicks' lead. His three pointer with 1:09 remaining appeared to seal a Game 2 win for the Sixers, but New York's defense turned the tables in the end. Although Joel Embiid is rounding back into form, Maxey's produtcion will be essential to get the team back into the series. The Maxey-Embiid duo also needs help from the rest of the supporting cast, who only scored 32 total points in the loss.
Apr 22, 2024
Will play
Maxey (illness) will play in Monday's Game 2 against the Knicks, Chris Haynes of Turner Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey missed the team's morning shootaround due to an illness but went through a pregame warmup and was cleared to suit up a few minutes later. Joel Embiid (knee) remains questionable, and Maxey might not be at 100 percent despite being available. On Saturday, Maxey posted 33 points (14-26 FG) in 44 minutes during the 111-104 Game 1 loss.
Apr 22, 2024
Expected to play
Maxey (illness) is expected to play in Monday's Game 2 against the Knicks, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey missed the team's morning shootaround due to an illness but went through a pregame warmup and is on track to play, while Joel Embiid (knee) remains questionable. Maxey dropped 33 points (14-26 FG) in 44 minutes during Saturday's 111-104 Game 1 loss.
Apr 22, 2024
Warming up
Maxey (illness) is on court at the beginning of team warmups in advance of Monday's Game 2 against New York, Sam DiGiovanni of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With Philadelphia down 1-0 in the series, Maxey not suiting up Monday would be a shocking development, although his status must still be monitored. Maxey as well as Joel Embiid (left knee injury management) are both officially considered game-time decisions for Monday's contest.
Apr 22, 2024
Questionable for Monday
Maxey is questionable for Monday's Game 2 against New York due to an illness, Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has been on a tear recently, averaging 31.6 points, 4.6 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 42.2 minutes per game over his last five appearances. He played 44 minutes in Saturday's Game 1 loss to the Knicks but was a late addition to Monday's injury report due to his illness. The 23-year-old will likely be closely monitored in the hours leading up to tipoff, but Cameron Payne, Kyle Lowry and Buddy Hield could see increased run if Maxey is sidelined.
Apr 21, 2024
Ready for the big stage
Maxey totaled 33 points (14-26 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, four assists and two blocks in 44 minutes during Saturday's 111-104 loss to New York in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. He also had three turnovers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey's signature downhill speed and layup contortion were on display Saturday, carving up the Knicks anytime Mitchell Robinson was away from the basket. Maxey's performance is additionally impressive in the context of uncertainty surrounding the full athletic ability of Joel Embiid (knee) (29 points), but Embiid's presence on the court is a significant enabling factor for Maxey to attack the paint successfully.
Apr 18, 2024
Scores 19 in win over Miami
Maxey accumulated 19 points (6-16 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds and six assists across 44 minutes during Wednesday's 105-104 Play-In Game victory over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Maxey had a rough night from three-point range, but he still salvaged his stat line by sniffing the 20-point mark and dishing out six assists. Maxey is expected to play a prominent role on offense in the first-round matchup against the Knicks, and it's worth noting he averaged 26.3 points per game in three games vs. New York during the regular season.
Apr 13, 2024
Drains five threes vs. Orlando
Maxey logged 28 points (10-19 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two rebounds, three assists and one block over 40 minutes during Friday's 125-113 victory over the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Maxey returned to the lineup Friday after missing Tuesday's game against the Pistons due to left hip tightness. The injury didn't seem to slow Maxey down, as he hit five threes for the 15th time this season. The 76ers have been bolstered by the return of reigning MVP Joel Embiid, and a win Sunday against the Nets could lift the team into the top six in the Eastern Conference.
Apr 11, 2024
Not on injury report
Maxey (hip) isn't on the injury report for Friday's game against the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was unavailable for Tuesday's game against the Pistons due to left hip tightness, but he should be able to return to action following a minimal absence. Over his last three appearances, he's averaged 32.0 points, 7.7 assists and 5.0 rebounds in 40.0 minutes per game.
Apr 9, 2024
Won't play Tuesday
Maxey (hip) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Pistons, Kyle Neubeck of AllPHLY.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey dropped 52 points against the Spurs during a double-overtime win Sunday, but he continues to battle left hip tightness. After Tuesday's matchup, the 76ers have only two games remaining during the regular season -- Friday versus Orlando and Sunday against Brooklyn. Kyle Lowry (knee) remains out, so Cameron Payne and Buddy Hield are candidates for elevated roles against Detroit.
Apr 8, 2024
Deemed questionable for Tuesday
Maxey (hip) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Although Maxey continues to deal with left hip tightness, he's coming off a dominant performance in which he tallied 52 points, seven assists, five rebounds and two steals in 54 minutes during a double-overtime win over the Spurs on Sunday. If he's cleared to play Tuesday, his workload will likely depend on whether Joel Embiid (knee), Tobias Harris (knee), Kyle Lowry (knee) and De'Anthony Melton (back) are available.
Apr 8, 2024
Erupts for career-high 52
Maxey closed with 52 points (19-41 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 12-12 FT), five rebounds, seven assists and two steals over 54 minutes during Sunday's 133-126 double-overtime victory over San Antonio.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year guard took advantage of the extra court time to set a new career scoring high while dropping at least 50 points for the third time this season -- something only Wilt Chamberlain, Joel Embiid and Allen Iverson have also done in Sixers history. Maxey has scored 25-plus in eight of his last 12 games, and he's averaged 26.2 points, 6.5 assists, 3.8 boards, 2.8 threes and 1.0 steals over that stretch.
Apr 7, 2024
Good to go
Maxey (hip) will play in Sunday's game against the Spurs, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will suit up for both ends of the Sixers back-to-back set despite dealing with left hip pain. Although Maxey only saw 25 minutes Saturday, the absences of Joel Embiid (rest), Kyle Lowry (rest) and Tobias Harris (knee) could mean a hefty workload for the fourth-year guard Sunday.
Apr 7, 2024
Iffy for Sunday
Maxey (hip) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Maxey finished Saturday's blowout win over Memphis with just seven points (2-6 FG), five assists and a rebound after exploding for 37 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds during Thursday's win over Miami, which marked the point guard's return from a two-game absence due a left hip injury. Philadelphia has already ruled Joel Embiid (rest) and Kyle Lowry (rest) out for Sunday, so if Maxey joins them on the sidelines, the 76ers will need multiple depth pieces to step up and play quality minutes versus San Antonio.
Apr 6, 2024
Will play against Memphis
Maxey (hip) is available and will play in Saturday's game against the Grizzlies, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Similar to Joel Embiid, Maxey went through his regular shootaround routine and has been deemed available to play in a favorable matchup against the Grizzlies. Look for Maxey to handle his regular workload against Memphis in what looks like a must-win game for the 76ers.
Apr 6, 2024
Goes through shootaround
Maxey participated in shootaround of Saturday's game versus the Grizzlies, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is officially listed as questionable for Saturday's game versus the Grizzlies with left hip soreness. However, the 23-year-old guard appears on track to suit up in his second straight contest.
Apr 5, 2024
Questionable for Saturday
Maxey is questionable for Saturday's game against Memphis due to left hip tightness.
ANALYSIS
Maxey returned from a two-game absence Thursday against Miami and didn't appear to have limitations, as he tallied 37 points, 11 assists, nine rebounds, a steal and a block in 41 minutes. However, he continues to deal with a hip issue, and it's unclear whether he'll be able to suit up Saturday.
Apr 4, 2024
Nears triple-double in return
Maxey notched 37 points (15-26 FG, 5-14 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 assists, nine rebounds, one steal and one block over 41 minutes in Thursday's 109-105 win over Miami.
ANALYSIS
Maxey returned Thursday after missing the previous game with a hip injury, leading all players in the contest in scoring and assists to go along with a team-best mark from three and ending one rebound shy of a triple-double in an all-around showing. Maxey's return provides a big lift to a 76ers team that is getting back to full strength health-wise, something that has been missing notably during Maxey's three-game absence. Maxey tied a season-high mark in assists in his return, notching his sixth game with 35 or more points. He has posted at least 30 points and 10 assists in three games this year, adding eight or more rebounds in two of those three outings.
Apr 4, 2024
Cleared to play Thursday
Maxey (hip) will play Thursday against the Heat, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
No surprise here, as Maxey was upgraded to probable prior to this update. Maxey has missed the past three games for the 76ers, but he doesn't have any reported restrictions ahead of tipoff.
Apr 4, 2024
Likely to play Thursday
Maxey (hip) is "likely" to play against the Heat on Thursday, head coach Nick Nurse told Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Maxey missed Tuesday's win over the Thunder with left hip soreness in what was his third straight absence, but he's trending toward playing Thursday. Nurse revealed Maxey's status will be clearer after warmups, as the coaching staff wants the star guard to get through his pregame routine before he's officially cleared, so he's essentially going to be a game-time decision. All things considered, though, it seems the 76ers will have both Maxey and Joel Embiid (knee) available together for the first time since a Jan. 25 loss to the Pacers.
Apr 4, 2024
Participates in shootaround
Maxey (hip) participated in shootaround ahead of Thrusday's game versus the Heat, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is officially listed as questionable for Thursday's contest due to left hip soreness. However, the star guard's participation in shootaround is a good sign of his availability against Miami.
Apr 3, 2024
Iffy against Miami
Maxey (hip) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game versus the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is in danger of missing his third consecutive game Thursday while dealing with left hip soreness. If the 23-year-old guard is ruled out yet again, Cameron Payne should continue to start.
Apr 2, 2024
Won't play against Thunder
Maxey (hip) is out for Tuesday's game versus Oklahoma City, Brandon Rahbar of DailyThunder.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will miss his second straight contest Tuesday after being downgraded from questionable to out with left hip soreness. Cameron Payne will likely draw another start in his absence. Maxey's next chance to suit up is Thursday's matchup with Miami.
Apr 2, 2024
Goes through shootaround
Maxey (hip) participated in Tuesday's morning shootaround, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is still listed as questionable to face the Thunder, but he's trending in the right direction after missing Sunday's game against the Raptors. If Maxey gets the green light, Cameron Payne will see his fantasy appeal take a big hit.
Apr 1, 2024
Questionable for Tuesday
Maxey (hip) is questionable for Tuesday's game against Oklahoma City.
ANALYSIS
Maxey missed Sunday's game against the Raptors due to left hip tightness, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to return to action Tuesday. If he's unavailable once again, Cameron Payne will likely continue to see increased playing time.
Mar 31, 2024
Downgraded to out
Maxey (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Raptors, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was a late addition to the injury report due to left hip tightness and will miss his first game since March 10. Cameron Payne will start in Maxey's absence, while the latter's next chance to suit up will come Tuesday versus the Thunder.
Mar 31, 2024
Late addition to injury report
Maxey is questionable for Sunday's game against the Raptors due to left hip tightness.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is a late addition to the injury report and may snap his streak of 10 straight appearances. If Maxey is sidelined, Buddy Hield, Cameron Payne, Jeff Dowtin and Ricky Council would all be candidates for elevated roles in Phialdelphia's backcourt. Maxey missed four straight games earlier in March due to a concussion, but it's unclear when he suffered the hip injury.
Mar 28, 2024
Drops game-high 26 in loss
Maxey accumulated 26 points (9-20 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and one steal across 44 minutes during Wednesday's 108-107 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-yard guard led all scorers on the night as he scored at least 24 points for the fourth straight game and the seventh time in the last eight contests. Over that latter stretch, Maxey has averaged 25.3 points, 5.5 assists, 3.5 boards, 2.9 threes and 0.9 steals as he continues to carry the offensive load for the Sixers in the absence of Joel Embiid (knee).
Mar 26, 2024
Battles stifling defense in loss
Maxey chipped in 29 points (10-16 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), three rebounds and two assists over 34 minutes during Monday's 108-96 loss to the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Maxey's stat line is impressive considering Sacramento's defensive tactics. The Kings smothered Maxey on the defensive end, and while they failed to contain his offensive output, the point guard's inability to effectively direct the offense resulted in a pitiful night from the rest of the first unit. The other starters totaled just 20 points amid Maxey's second-worst assist total of the season.
Mar 25, 2024
Goes for 24 points Monday
Maxey chipped in 24 points (9-17 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), one rebound, six assists, one block and one steal over 44 minutes during Sunday's 121-107 victory over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey got off to a slow start in this game, but he scored most of his points in the second half, providing a massive lift for the Sixers right when the Clippers were sniffing a potential comeback. Maxey has found life more challenging without Joel Embiid around as he commands far more attention from opposing defenses, but more often than not, he finds a way to get things done. Maxey has scored 24 or more points in five of his last six appearances.
Mar 23, 2024
Drops game-high 27 on Friday
Maxey finished Friday's 101-94 loss to the Lakers with 27 points (10-26 FG, 1-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT), two rebounds, three assists and three steals in 39 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year guard bounced back from a poor shooting effort in Phoenix to lead all scorers on the night in Los Angeles, but it wasn't enough to get the Sixers a win. Over six games since returning from a concussion, Maxey has averaged 23.3 points, 5.3 assists, 3.2 boards, 2.5 threes and 0.8 steals.
Mar 21, 2024
Struggles badly against PHX
Maxey notched six points (3-13 FG, 0-4 3Pt), seven assists and one steal in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 115-102 loss to Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
Maxey had one of the worst performances of the season against one of the top teams in the Western Conference, and he finished with more than double the number of shot attempts compared to points scored. Maxey is extremely talented to struggle at this rate for a long stretch, and while he's had a fair share of subpar outings, he should be able to bounce back against the Lakers on Friday.
Mar 19, 2024
Comes close to triple-double
Maxey registered 30 points (11-24 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 5-5 FT), eight rebounds, 10 assists, one block and one steal over 41 minutes during Monday's 98-91 victory over Miami.
ANALYSIS
Maxey didn't have his best shooting performance and had a rough time form beyond the arc, but he still reached the 30-point plateau while ending just two boards away from a triple-double. With Joel Embiid (knee) and Tobias Harris (ankle) sidelined, Maxey is the undisputed go-to player on offense for the 76ers. His usage rate will reflect that, as well as the fact that he's averaging 27.3 points per game since the beginning of March. He's also scored exactly 30 points in three straight appearances.
Mar 17, 2024
Leads charge with 30 points
Maxey chipped in a game-high 30 points (8-20 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 11-12 FT), three rebounds and four assists over 40 minutes during Saturday's 109-98 victory over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year guard hit for 30 points for the second straight game despite having his nose bloodied on a flagrant foul that got Brandon Miller ejected in the second quarter. Maxey missed four games in March due to a concussion, but the injury didn't slow him down. He's scored at least 30 points in five of nine games since the All-Star break, averaging 27.7 points, 4.7 assists, 4.0 boards, 3.3 threes and 1.0 steals over that stretch.
Mar 15, 2024
Goes for 30 points in loss
Maxey closed with 30 points (12-23 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 1-3 FT), four rebounds and four assists across 37 minutes during Thursday's 114-105 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was efficient and looked dominant in the first half, but he was unable to sustain that pace throughout the entire contest. Still, he was Philadelphia's best player by a wide margin in this tough loss to the Bucks, where the 76ers led throughout most of the contest before crumbling down the stretch. Maxey is expected to remain as the 76ers' primary alternative on offense until Joel Embiid (knee) returns, and he's in line for a favorable matchup against the Hornets on Saturday.
Mar 13, 2024
Quiet night in return
Maxey recorded 17 points (6-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and four assists across 28 minutes during Tuesday's 106-79 loss to New York.
ANALYSIS
Making his return from a concussion after missing the last four games, Maxey struggled to crack the Knicks' defense and produced his lowest scoring output since Feb. 7. He'd averaged 28.0 points, 5.9 assists, 5.1 boards, 2.9 threes and 1.0 steals in the nine games prior to getting hurt, and with Joel Embiid (knee) still weeks away from getting back on the court, Maxey should quickly resume his lead role for the Sixers now that he's healthy.
Mar 12, 2024
Set for full workload
Maxey won't be on a minutes restriction during Tuesday's game versus the Knicks, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will take the floor Tuesday after missing Philadelphia's previous four contests while in concussion protocols. The star guard should continue to serve as the team's primary offensive engine with Joel Embiid (knee) and play close to his season average of 37.4 minutes.
Mar 11, 2024
Clears concussion protocol
Maxey has cleared concussion protocol and will play Tuesday versus the Knicks, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has missed four straight games while in concussion protocols, but he'll return to action for a rematch against the Knicks. Before his absence, Maxey was on a roll, averaging 28.0 points, 5.9 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 38.8 minutes per game, but the star guard may face some limitations following over a week off.
Mar 9, 2024
Out again Sunday
Maxey (concussion) will remain sidelined for Sunday's tilt against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Maxey's absence will mark his fourth straight while he remains in concussion protocol. As a result, Buddy Hield and Kelly Oubre figure to continue seeing increased run on the wing. Maxey's next chance to suit up will come Tuesday in a rematch with the Knicks should he ultimately clear protocol.
Mar 9, 2024
Remains in concussion protocol
Maxey (concussion) is still in concussion protocol Saturday, Austin Krell of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has missed Philadelphia's last three contests due to a concussion, but the organization was hoping that the medical staff would clear the star guard from protocol. Maxey's status for Sunday's matchup with the Knicks is now in doubt.
Mar 8, 2024
Getting shots up
Maxey (concussion) remains out for Friday's game against the Pelicans, but he was spotted getting shots up following the team's morning shootaround, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is slated to miss a third straight game due to a concussion, but he appears to be nearing a return. He wasn't doing any contact drills, but it's still encouraging to see him active and on the court. In Maxey's absence, Kyle Lowry and Cameron Payne have seen more playing time at point guard, while Kelly Oubre and Buddy Hield have handled increased offensive usage. Jeff Dowtin has also entered the rotation. Maxey's next chance to suit up will come Sunday in New York.
Mar 7, 2024
Ruled out for Friday
Maxey (concussion) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will be spending his third consecutive game on the sidelines Friday, and his next chance to suit up will come Sunday in New York. Kyle Lowry will be returning from his rest day Friday, so he will likely be starting, and there will be additional minutes available for Cameron Payne.
Mar 6, 2024
Won't play Wednesday
Maxey (concussion) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was cleared to return after being evaluated for a head injury during Sunday's win over the Mavericks. However, he started experiencing concussion symptoms Tuesday morning and will now miss a second straight game due to the issue. His next chance to suit up will come Friday versus New Orleans. With Kyle Lowry (rest) and De'Anthony Melton (back) also out, Cameron Payne, Buddy Hield and Kelly Oubre are candidates for increased roles again.
Mar 5, 2024
Diagnosed with mild concussion
The 76ers announced Tuesday that Maxey has been diagnosed with a mild concussion, Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has already been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Nets due to the concussion he suffered against Dallas. While the star guard's injury isn't considered serious, his status for Wednesday's matchup with Memphis is now in doubt.
Mar 5, 2024
Will not play Tuesday
Maxey will miss Tuesday's contest against Brooklyn due to concussion-like symptoms, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has left Brooklyn and returned to Philadelphia already, and his status for Wednesday's home game against Memphis is unclear. Maxey was evaluated for a head injury during Sunday's victory over the Mavericks, with attending physicians clearing a return to action. He experienced no symptoms up until Tuesday morning, but he will be sidelined Tuesday while entering concussion protocol for further evaluation. Cameron Payne (illness) is questionable for Tuesday's contest, which could leave Kyle Lowry, Buddy Hield and Kelly Oubre with enlarged playmaking duties.
Mar 3, 2024
Unguardable early
Maxey had 24 points (8-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-7 FT), two rebounds, three assists and two steals over 39 minutes during Sunday's 120-116 win over the Mavericks. He also had 4 turnovers
ANALYSIS
Maxey racked up 17 first quarter points, which was especially notable in a frame where Philadelphia began in an 11-0 deficit. Maxey's speed and ability to change gears carved up Dallas and compensated for a cold stroke from deep Sunday. Overall, he was not at his crispest, especially as a facilitator, but he has game-changing ability on a nightly basis.
Mar 3, 2024
Returning to start fourth quarter
Maxey (head) is starting the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Mavericks, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
The back of Maxey's head collided with Derrick Jones' knee after the point guard slipped while driving to the basket with four minutes left in the third quarter. He briefly went back to the locker room and was assessed by Philadelphia's medical staff before getting the green light to start the fourth quarter. Maxey had 19 points, three assists and two rebounds in 27 minutes before leaving the game.
Mar 3, 2024
Leaves Sunday's game
Maxey went to the locker room after hitting his head in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the 76ers, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey slipped while attacking the basket, and the back of his head collided with Tim Hardaway's knee. The point guard remained on the floor for a while before heading to the locker room but quickly returned to Philadelphia's bench. The 76ers haven't released an official update on Maxey's status, but if he's unable to return, he'll finish the contest with 19 points, three assists and two rebounds in 27 minutes.
Mar 2, 2024
Hits 30-point mark once again
Maxey ended Friday's 121-114 victory over the Hornets with 33 points (11-29 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 6-6 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one block in 39 minutes.
ANALYSIS
It's not surprising to see Maxey reaching the 30-point mark on a regular basis, as he's taken over the role of being the primary offensive weapon with Joel Embiid (knee) out, and the lack of depth across the board also boosts his usage rate. Maxey has been nothing short of outstanding in recent weeks, averaging 27.4 points, 5.5 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game since the start of February.
Feb 28, 2024
Leads Philly in scoring
Maxey closed Tuesday's 117-99 loss to the Celtics with 32 points (12-24 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals in 37 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has embraced a more significant responsibility on offense with Joel Embiid (knee) sidelined, and while the team has struggled without their star big man, the truth is that Maxey has benefited from a fantasy perspective. Maxey has reached the 30-point mark in three of his last five appearances. Even though his scoring ability is known league-wide, his usage rate -- and thus, the possibility of racking up stats -- has risen considerably since he doesn't have to share the scoring load with Embiid. Maxey has been averaging 26.9 points per game since the beginning of February.
Feb 25, 2024
Surpasses 20 points as top scorer
Maxey closed Sunday's 119-98 loss to the Bucks with 24 points (8-19 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and three steals in 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey continued to lead the Philadelphia offense while Joel Embiid remains out an extended period of time while injured, leading the team in assists and scoring in a losing effort. Maxey has handed out five or more assists in six straight outings while also surpassing the 20-point mark in every one of those games.
Feb 24, 2024
Leads Sixers in Friday's win
Maxey chipped in team-high 24 points (9-22 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and two steals across 39 minutes during Friday's 104-97 win over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year guard scored more than 20 points for the fifth straight game as he continues to hold down the fort for the Sixers in the absence of Joel Embiid (knee). Through nine games in February, Maxey is averaging 26.7 points, 5.4 assists, 4.6 boards and 2.9 threes while shooting 40.6 percent from long distance.
Feb 23, 2024
Scores game-high 35 points
Maxey finished Thursday's 110-96 loss to New York with 35 points (11-24 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 9-9 FT), six rebounds and five assists over 40 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey entered the All-Star break on a high note with a 30-point performance against the Heat on Feb. 14, and he kept that trend going with this 35-point effort. Maxey has now reached the 30-point plateau in 15 different appearances this season, and he's averaging 27.0 points per game since the beginning of February.
Feb 15, 2024
Leading scorer vs. Miami
Maxey posted 30 points (12-23 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds and seven assists over 39 minutes during Wednesday's 109-104 loss to Miami.
ANALYSIS
Maxey briefly left Wednesday's game due to an ankle injury, but he was able to return to action and managed to lead the Sixers in scoring. Maxey's scoring output has stayed consistent without Joel Embiid (knee) in the lineup, but the former will need to produce at a higher level to keep Philadelphia in the mix for the top of the Eastern Conference. Maxey is averaging 25.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists on 45.6 percent shooting in February.
Feb 14, 2024
Returns to game
Maxey (ankle) has checked back into Wednesday's game against the Heat, Lauren Rosen of the 76ers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey made a brief trip to the locker room with what appeared to be an ankle injury, but he's checked back into the contest. His return should mean fewer opportunities for Terquavion Smith.
Feb 14, 2024
Heads to locker room
Maxey exited Wednesday's game against the Heat and went to the locker room after sustaining what appeared to be an ankle injury, Tim Reynolds of Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey exited the game after Paul Reed stepped on his foot, and appeared to be in significant pain. While he's sidelined, expect Cameron Payne, Ricky Council and Terquavion Smith to see more action. Maxey should be considered questionable to return.
Feb 11, 2024
Scores 28 points in return
Maxey chipped in 28 points (11-25 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds and seven assists in 36 minutes during Saturday's 119-113 victory over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Maxey didn't have his best shooting performance, but he still delivered a well-rounded stat line as the 76ers escaped with a victory over the Wizards. Maxey is expected to experience an uptick in his scoring numbers with Joel Embiid (knee) out, and the electric guard will operate as Philadelphia's primary scoring weapon for the foreseeable future. Maxey has scored 20 or more points in four of his last six games.
Feb 10, 2024
Good to go against Washington
Maxey (illness) is available for Saturday's game versus the Wizards, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has been upgraded from probable to available Saturday after missing Philadelphia's previous contest with a non-COVID illness. The star guard will likely replace Cameron Payne in the starting lineup.
Feb 10, 2024
Listed as probable
Maxey (illness) has drawn a probable designation ahead of Saturday's tilt versus the Wizards, Austin Krell of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was a late addition to Friday's injury report before ultimately sitting out due to an illness. His probable tag indicates he is feeling better Saturday, but final confirmation on his status is unlikely to come until closer to tipoff. New addition to the squad, Cameron Payne, would be the prime beneficiary if Maxey has any setbacks.
Feb 9, 2024
Won't play against Atlanta
Maxey (illness) is out for Friday's game versus the Hawks, Gina Mizell of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has been downgraded from questionable to out Friday with a non-COVID illness. Cameron Payne will likely start in his absence. Maxey's next chance to suit up is Saturday's matchup with Washington.
Feb 9, 2024
Late addition to injury report
Maxey is listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Hawks due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Maxey's late addition to the injury report has him in danger of missing Friday's contest. If the star guard is ruled out, two-way players Terquavion Smith and Ricky Council are candidates to receive extended minutes.
Feb 8, 2024
Can't find rhythm Wednesday
Maxey ended Wednesday's 127-104 loss to the Warriors with 12 points (5-14 FG, 2-7 3Pt), two rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 30 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey suited up despite battling an illness, which may explain his unusually quiet production. The star guard finished with his lowest scoring output since Christmas Day and didn't contribute much elsewhere in a game that got away from Philadelphia in the third quarter. Maxey will have Thursday to try to recover from his ailment before the 76ers take on Atlanta on Friday.
Feb 7, 2024
Will play Wednesday
Maxey (illness) is available for Wednesday's game against the Warriors, Kyle Neubeck of AllPHLY.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was a late addition to the injury report due to an illness and wasn't present for the team's morning shootaround, but he's going to suit up versus Golden State. With Joel Embiid (knee) sidelined, the 76ers need all the production they can get out of their point guard, but the aliment may cause some restrictions Wednesday.
Feb 7, 2024
Absent from shootaround
Maxey (illness) was not at Wednesday's morning shootaround, Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was added to the injury report on Wednesday morning with a questionable tag, and he appears to be trending in the wrong direction. If the 76ers are without their floor general, the 76ers will need Patrick Beverley, Jaden Springer and Kelly Oubre to soak up some usage.
Feb 7, 2024
Questionable for Wednesday
Maxey is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Warriors due to illness.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was a late addition to the injury report, although we could get more clarity following the morning shootaround. If Maxey is unable to play, the 76ers will need guys like Patrick Beverley, Jaden Springer and Kelly Oubre to step up.
Feb 6, 2024
Contained in loss
Maxey posted 15 points (6-16 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), two rebounds and seven assists in 33 minutes during Monday's 118-102 loss to the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Maxey compiled seven points in the first three minutes of the game, but he was stifled afterwards, struggling from beyond the arc and falling shy of his typical 5.8 free-throw attempts per game. Dwight Powell and Maxi Kleber stood strong in the paint and each drew charges to put Maxey in some light foul trouble, but he is a bounce-back candidate Wednesday versus Golden State.
Feb 3, 2024
Strong from deep as top scorer
Maxey supplied 23 points (8-23 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 4-6 FT), three rebounds, five assists and three steals across 31 minutes during Saturday's 136-121 loss to Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Maxey led all 76ers in scoring while connecting on a trio of threes and leading all starters with a handful of assists to go along with a team-leading trio of steals in a losing effort. Maxey, coming off a 51-point performance Thursday, once again sparked the 76ers offense while posting his third straight contest with 20 or more points. will be relied upon to lift Philadelphia with Joel Embiid (knee) out for an extended period of time.
Feb 2, 2024
Erupts for career-high 51
Maxey closed Thursday's 127-124 victory over the Jazz with 51 points (17-27 FG, 7-9 3Pt, 10-11 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one block over 41 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year guard had missed the prior three games with a sprained ankle, but with Joel Embiid (knee) also still sidelined, Maxey had to handle the scoring load for the Sixers and responded by setting a new career scoring high. It's the second time this season he's reached 50 points, a mark he hit Nov. 12 against the Pacers. The seven made three-pointers also tied his season high, and in 12 games since the beginning of January, Maxey is averaging 26.7 points, 6.3 assists, 3.2 threes, 3.0 boards and 1.6 steals.
Feb 1, 2024
Cleared to play Thursday
Maxey (ankle) will play in Thursday's game against the Jazz, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey missed the past three games for the 76ers, but he'll return to action on the same day he was named an Eastern Conference All-Star Reserve. With Joel Embiid (knee) out indefinitely, Maxey will have a lot more usage for the foreseeable future. With Maxey back in the lineup, Patrick Beverley and Kelly Oubre will likely lose some fantasy appeal.
Jan 31, 2024
Questionable for Thursday
Maxey (ankle) is being listed as questionable for Thursday's game in Utah.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Nick Nurse said Wednesday that he was hopeful that Maxey would be able to return for Thursday's game, so he's trending in the right direction. He'll test his ankle at shootaround, but he could be headed for a game-time call. If he is able to get back out there, Kelly Oubre and Patrick Beverley would take hit.
Jan 31, 2024
Could return Thursday
Coach Nick Nurse hopes Maxey (ankle) will be able to return Thursday against the Jazz, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has missed the last three games due to a sprained left ankle, but Nurse said after Tuesday's game against the Warriors that the point guard is close to returning. "We're close with him," Nurse said Tuesday. "I was hoping he was going to make it tonight. When he didn't play last night. We thought we'd have him tonight, but it didn't work out that way. I would imagine [getting] a couple more days he should be ready to go." Maxey's return would provide the 76ers with a boost, especially if Joel Embiid (knee) is forced to miss additional time.
Jan 30, 2024
Will remain sidelined Tuesday
Maxey (ankle) will not play Tuesday versus Golden State, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will miss his third consecutive game due to a left ankle sprain, while co-star Joel Embiid (knee) is a game-time decision Tuesday. Maxey's next opportunity to take the court comes Thursday versus Utah. Patrick Beverley and Kelly Oubre will likely continue seeing large workloads in his stead.
Jan 29, 2024
Officially inactive Monday
Maxey (ankle) is out Monday versus Portland, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will miss his second consecutive game due to a left ankle sprain, joined by Joel Embiid (knee) on the sideline once again. Patrick Beverley will likely orchestrate the offense, with Kelly Oubre assuming sizable offensive duties as well.
Jan 28, 2024
Iffy Monday
Maxey (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey missed Saturday's game due to a left ankle sprain that now has his status for Monday's contest in question. If he is unable to go, Patrick Beverley figures to assume a significant role.
Jan 27, 2024
Ruled out Saturday
Maxey (ankle) won't play in Saturday's game versus the Nuggets, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has been downgraded from questionable to out Saturday due to a left ankle sprain. Patrick Beverley will likely receive an increased role in his absence. Maxey's next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Portland.
Jan 26, 2024
Questionable against Denver
Maxey is questionable for Saturday's game versus the Nuggets due to a left ankle sprain, Ramona Shelbourne of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is in danger of missing just his second game this season Saturday due to a left ankle sprain. If the star guard is unable to suit, Patrick Beverley will likely replace him in the starting lineup.
Jan 26, 2024
Perfect from line in 20-point game
Maxey finished with 22 points (7-17 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 7-7 FT), one rebound, two assists and one block over 28 minutes during Thursday's 134-122 loss to the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey finished with a perfect mark from the free throw line while ending as one of two players with 20 or more points in a high-scoring defeat. Maxey has made seven or more free throws in 12 games this season, now scoring north of 20 points in three of his last five outings and in 34 contests.
Jan 23, 2024
Takes back seat to Embiid
Maxey had 18 points (7-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and eight assists in 42 minutes during Monday's 133-123 win over the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year guard scored less than 20 points for the second straight game, but Monday's output was understandable considering that Joel Embiid was setting a new 76ers franchise record with 70. Maxey has still been productive in January, averaging 24.7 points, 7.3 assists, 3.3 boards, 3.0 threes and 1.9 steals over 10 games.
Jan 21, 2024
Sniffs double-double
Maxey closed with 16 points (7-22 FG, 1-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and two steals across 42 minutes during Saturday's 97-89 victory over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Maxey had a rough shooting performance Saturday, and while he compensated for the lack of scoring with eight assists and two steals, he still finished with more field goal attempts than points scored -- and by a sizable margin. Chances are this was nothing more than a bump on the road for Maxey, who's averaging 25.4 points, 7.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game in nine January appearances.
Jan 20, 2024
Pours in 32 against Orlando
Maxey notched 32 points (10-20 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 8-9 FT), three rebounds, five assists, one block and three steals across 33 minutes during Friday's 124-109 win over the Magic.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year guard was only a couple buckets back of Joel Embiid's 36 points, marking the eighth time this season the duo have each scored 30-plus in the same game -- a new Sixers franchise record for teammates. Maxey has produced 20 or more points in 11 straight games, averaging 27.1 points, 6.4 assists, 3.3 boards, 3.1 threes and 1.6 steals over that stretch.
Jan 17, 2024
Hits for 25 in Tuesday's win
Maxey accumulated 25 points (9-20 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 3-7 FT), five rebounds, nine assists and two steals across 43 minutes during Tuesday's 126-121 win over Denver.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year guard stayed locked in, scoring at least 20 points for the 10th straight game. Maxey has drained multiple three-pointers eight times during that stretch, averaging 26.6 points, 6.5 assists, 3.3 boards, 3.0 threes and 1.5 steals as he solidifies his spot as an All-Star caliber running mate for Joel Embiid.
Jan 15, 2024
Dominates form deep in victory
Maxey notched 27 points (8-18 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven assists and one rebound over 35 minutes in Monday's 124-115 win over Houston.
ANALYSIS
Maxey led all players in Monday's contest in threes made while pacing the 76ers in assists and ending three points short of the 30-point mark in a winning effort. Maxey has buried six or more threes in four games this year, scoring 25 or more points in all four of those games. Maxey has tallied at least 25 points and seven assists in four of his last five outings.
Jan 13, 2024
Hits for 21 against Kings
Maxey closed with 21 points (6-17 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds, four assists, two blocks and three steals in 40 minutes during Friday's 112-93 win over Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year guard has scored 20 or more points in eight straight games and 12 of the last 13, averaging 26.5 points, 6.5 assists, 3.2 boards, 3.1 threes and 1.3 steals over the latter stretch. Maxey has more than ably replaced James Harden as the Sixers' second star next to Joel Embiid (knee), and he should be headed to his first All-Star Game appearance in 2023-24.
Jan 11, 2024
Pours in 35 in OT loss
Maxey produced 35 points (12-29 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 7-9 FT), eight rebounds, nine assists and four steals in 43 minutes before fouling out of Wednesday's 139-132 overtime loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year guard came close to notching his first career triple-double as he carried the load for the Sixers with Joel Embiid (knee) sidelined, but Maxey's efforts weren't quite enough to get his team in the win column. He's scored at least 20 points in seven straight games and 11 of the last 12, averaging 26.9 points, 6.7 assists, 3.3 boards, 3.1 threes and 1.2 steals over the latter stretch.
Jan 7, 2024
Leading scorer sans Embiid
Maxey closed Saturday's 120-109 loss to the Jazz with 25 points (9-24 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 6-6 FT), one rebound, nine assists, one block and three steals in 42 minutes.
ANALYSIS
With Joel Embiid out due to left knee swelling, Maxey took over as the main option on offense. Like Friday's game against the Knicks, he was one assist shy from registering a double-double. Maxey missed seven of his eight three-point attempts in Saturday's loss and has shot just 25.6 percent from beyond the arc over his last five games. He'll have a chance to right the ship Wednesday against the Hawks.
Jan 5, 2024
Cold from three in loss
Maxey notched 27 points (9-20 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 8-10 FT), four rebounds, nine assists, one block and two steals over 36 minutes during Friday's 128-92 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Maxey's 27 points was second on the 76ers behind reigning MVP Joel Embiid. While Maxey missed eight of his nine three-point attempts in Friday's loss, the team as a whole struggled as they converted just 6 of 23 attempts from beyond the arc. He's shooting 28.9 percent from three over his last six games, but has a chance to get right Saturday against the Jazz, who are coming off a blowout loss to the Celtics on Friday.
Jan 2, 2024
Strong from deep in 20-point outing
Maxey posted 21 points (6-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five assists and one rebound over 29 minutes in Tuesday's 110-97 win over Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Maxey led all players in Tuesday's contest in threes made while adding a handful of assists and surpassing the 20-point mark to boost Philadelphia offensively. Maxey has connected on four or more threes in 12 games, recording 20 or more points in all but six outings this year.
Dec 31, 2023
Scores 20 points in loss
Maxey chipped in 20 points (8-22 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-5 FT), seven assists and one steal over 35 minutes during Saturday's 105-92 loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
It was an off night for the Sixers on offense, but Maxey led the team in scoring despite finishing the game with more field goal attempts than points scored. Maxey has been Philadelphia's primary offensive weapon with Joel Embiid (ankle) sidelined, and that will remain the case going forward until the star big man is ready to return. Maxey is averaging 24.3 points per contest over his last 10 appearances.
Dec 30, 2023
Explodes for 42 points Friday
Maxey supplied 42 points (13-26 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 14-15 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one block across 41 minutes during Friday's 131-127 win over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Maxey seems to have shaken off his woeful Christmas performance when he finished with 12 points in 4-for-20 shooting in a loss to the Heat, as he has recorded 23 and 42 points in his subsequent two games. That game against Miami was nothing more than a bump on the road, however, as Maxey has posted 20-plus performances in six of his last seven games. He should continue to operate as Philadelphia's primary offensive weapon while Joel Embiid (ankle) remains sidelined.
Dec 27, 2023
Leads Sixers to win Wednesday
Maxey logged 23 points (9-18 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one block over 34 minutes during Wednesday's 112-92 win over Orlando.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year guard led the Sixers in scoring on the night in the absence of Joel Embiid (ankle), although Tobias Harris and De'Anthony Melton were right there with Maxey, dropping 22 points each. Maxey has hit for 20-plus in eight of 11 games this month, averaging 23.7 points, 6.4 assists, 3.2 threes and 2.7 boards in December as he takes another step forward following his breakout 2022-23 campaign.
Dec 23, 2023
Big double-double against Raptors
Maxey racked up 33 points (13-22 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds and 10 assists over 41 minutes during Friday's 121-111 victory over Toronto.
ANALYSIS
The Sixers got nearly all their offense from only three players, as Maxey tied Tobias Harris for the team lead while Joel Embiid also produced 31 points. Maxey has scored at least 30 in back-to-back games and six times in his last 14, a stretch in which the fourth-year guard is averaging 26.0 points, 6.5 assists, 3.2 threes, 3.0 boards and 0.8 steals.
Dec 21, 2023
Leads from deep in 35-point outing
Maxey totaled 35 points (12-24 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 6-6 FT), one rebound and five assists in 37 minutes during Wednesday's 127-113 victory over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Maxey led all players in Wednesday's contest in threes made while finishing second on the team in scoring en route to posting his eighth game of the year with 30 or more points. Maxey posted his highest point total since tallying a season-high 50 points Nov. 12 against Indiana. He has connected on five or more threes in eight contests this year, including in three straight games.
Dec 16, 2023
Bounces back with 19 points Friday
Maxey registered 19 points (7-16 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), one rebound, four assists and two steals in 27 minutes during Friday's 124-92 win over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Maxey's scoring output was modest by his standards, but he played only 27 minutes due to the lopsided nature of the scorer and bounced back pretty well from his 2-for-13, nine-point performance against Detroit in his previous contest. Maxey finished second on Philadelphia behind Joel Embiid in scoring Friday as 12 different players on the team logged double-digit minutes. The star guard also logged a team-best plus-37 point differential during his time on the court.
Dec 8, 2023
Scores 30 in win
Maxey provided 30 points (8-18 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 10-12 FT), two rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal across 39 minutes during Friday's 125-114 victory over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Maxey scored 30 points for the third time in four games and was second on the team in scoring behind reigning MVP Joel Embiid (38 points). Maxey entered Friday's game averaging career highs in scoring (26.9 points), assists (6.7) and rebounds (4.4) and free throw attempts (5.4). Maxey has stepped up as the clear second option for the 76ers after the trade of James Harden and the former is making a strong case for the Most Improved Player award.
Dec 6, 2023
Efficient night in return
Maxey had 26 points (10-20 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and seven assists across 38 minutes in Wednesday's 131-126 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was a late scratch Friday against the Celtics with an injury, but was able to return for Wednesday's game along with Joel Embiid and Kelly Oubre. Maxey took a back seat to the 50-point performance of Embiid, but the former tied with De'Anthony Melton with a team-best plus-12 point differential. Maxey has now scored at least 25 points in six of his last seven games and has shot at least 50 percent from the floor in three of his last four apperances.
Dec 5, 2023
Officially cleared
Maxey (illness) is not featured on the injury report in advance of Wednesday's game against Washington.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will return from a one-game absence due to an illness and should be in line for his normal workload after being a full participant at practice. Maxey has averaged 27.6 points, 5.6 assists and 4.2 rebounds across his last five games.
Dec 4, 2023
Participates in practice
Maxey (illness) was a full participant at Monday's practice, Justin Grasso of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was unable to play in Friday's game against the Celtics, but he's had the full weekend to recover and is all set to return Wednesday against the Wizards. Joel Embiid (illness) and Kelly Oubre (ribs) are also set to return for the 76ers.
Dec 1, 2023
Ruled out Friday
Maxey (illness) will not play in Friday's game against Boston, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey tried to warm up to see if he could give it a go, but instead he'll join Joel Embiid (illness) on the shelf. Patrick Beverley will enter the starting five in Maxey's place, while Tobias Harris and De'Anthony Melton will soak up a lot of usage on the offensive end. After Friday's game, the 76ers are off until Wednesday against the Wizards.
Dec 1, 2023
Late addition to injury report
Maxey is listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Celtics due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is in danger of missing his first game this season after being a late addition to Friday's injury report. If the star guard is ruled out, Patrick Beverley and De'Anthony Melton are candidates to receive increased minutes.
Nov 30, 2023
Leads offense without Embiid
Maxey finished Wednesday's 124-114 loss to the Pelicans with 33 points (13-25 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one rebound, three assists and two steals in 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Joel Embiid wasn't able to suit up Wednesday due to an illness, leaving Maxey to carry the load on offense. The talented guard stepped up with a team-high 33 points -- no other 76er scored more than 17 -- while finishing with a solid 13-for-25 shooting line. It was Maxey's best scoring performance since he went off for 50 points against Indiana Nov. 12, but he hadn't exactly been slumping between the efforts, as he's finished with 30-plus points three times over his past five contests. Maxey has blossomed into one of the NBA's most dynamic offensive players this season and should continue to put up hearty stat lines on a near-nightly basis.
Nov 28, 2023
Scores game-high 31 points
Maxey accumulated 31 points (9-20 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 8-9 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 36 minutes during Monday's 138-94 victory over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey caught fire from deep in the first quarter, and the Lakers didn't find a way to stop his two-man game with Joel Embiid, allowing the star guard to pace the Sixers in scoring even when Embiid grabbed headlines of his own following the triple-double. Maxey has embraced the role of being the Sixers' second option on offense and is delivering a career-best year across most categories. This was his fifth game with at least 30 points, a feat that he accomplished seven times during the entire 2022-23 campaign.
Nov 26, 2023
Scores 28, sniffs double-double
Maxey closed with 28 points (8-17 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 9-11 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and one block over 41 minutes during Saturday's 127-123 win over the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Maxey had another excellent performance as the Sixers' second-best offensive option behind Joel Embiid, though by now, fantasy managers should be used to seeing the star guard reaching the 25-point mark on a consistent basis. Maxey has scored at least 25 points in 10 of his 16 appearances to date, and his high usage rate also allows him to contribute in other categories as well. He's averaging 25.5 points, 6.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game in November.
Nov 23, 2023
Scores season-low 16 points
Maxey ended with 16 points (7-19 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), five rebounds, eight assists and one block in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 112-99 loss to Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Maxey failed to make a three-pointer for the first time since Nov. 2, and the result was a season-low 16 points. He played well despite the poor shooting from distance, though the 76ers lost 112-99 without Joel Embiid (hip). It was also the second night of a back-to-back for Maxey and the Sixers, which could have contributed to his rough shooting from deep.
Nov 22, 2023
Chips in with 30 points
Maxey finished Tuesday's 122-119 overtime loss to the Cavaliers with 30 points (11-28 FG, 3-12 3Pt, 5-7 FT), four rebounds, six assists and one steal across 47 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey might have needed 28 shots to score 30 points, but his scoring numbers have been so good that he can afford to have a night off in terms of efficiency from time to time. Firmly entrenched as the Sixers' second-best option on offense behind Joel Embiid, Maxey continues to have a career-best season in most categories, though his 27.0 points and 7.0 assists per game certainly stand out.
Nov 20, 2023
Tallies double-double in victory
Maxey posted 25 points (8-20 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two rebounds and 10 assists in 36 minutes during Sunday's 121-99 victory over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Maxey led all 76ers in threes made and assists while finishing as one of three players with 20 or more points in a double-double performance. Maxey has handed out 10 or more rebounds in four games this season, tallying at least 25 points in eight of his 13 outings.
Nov 18, 2023
Struggles from field Friday
Maxey amassed 19 points (5-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, eight assists and two steals across 40 minutes during Friday's 126-116 win over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Maxey didn't have a good shooting performance and was held to 20 points or less in back-to-back contests for the first time in 2023-24, which shows how dominant he's been on offense this season. This performance also ended a seven-game streak in which Maxey scored 20 or more points. Firmly entrenched as Philly's second-best scoring option behind Joel Embiid and one of the most improved players in the league through the first weeks of the season, Maxey is averaging 25.8 points, 7.0 assists and 4.4 rebounds across nine appearances in November.
Nov 16, 2023
Held to 20 points Wednesday
Maxey recorded 20 points (6-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds and four assists across 39 minutes during Wednesday's 117-107 loss to Boston.
ANALYSIS
Maxey delivered his second-worst scoring mark of the season Wednesday, and he also saw the end of his four-game run with at least 25 points following a subpar shooting performance -- though it must be noted he was facing one of the best defensive backcourts in the league featuring Jrue Holiday and Derrick White. Maxey should deliver a better outing against the Hawks on Friday.
Nov 15, 2023
Puts up 27 points in loss
Maxey ended Tuesday's 132-126 loss to Indiana with 27 points (9-23 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 7-7 FT), four rebounds, five assists and one block over 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Maxey was not able to repeat the 50-point showing he delivered against the Pacers on Sunday, and while he had a rough night from the field, he still notched his sixth straight game with at least 20 points. In fact, Maxey has reached that feat in all but one of his appearances this season and should remain a stellar scoring weapon as the clear No. 2 option behind Joel Embiid for a rising 76ers team.
Nov 12, 2023
Drops 50-piece in win
Maxey erupted for 50 points (20-32 FG, 7-11 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and three blocks over 39 minutes in Sunday's 137-126 win over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
It was a career-high scoring effort from Maxey and the third 50-point game in the NBA this season. His night was capped off with a contested step-back three with less than a minute left in the fourth quarter to reach the half century mark. Sunday was the first time Maxey has led the 76ers in scoring since the season opener, with Joel Embiid leading in points in each of the last eight games. Maxey has stepped up spectacularly in his increased role following the departure of James Harden and has scored 20-plus points in all but one game this year. Maxey could well be on his way to his first All-Star appearance should he continue to be productive and the 76ers stay atop the Eastern Conference standings.
Nov 9, 2023
Flirts with double-double in win
Maxey provided 25 points (11-27 FG, 3-11 3Pt, 0-1 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal in 39 minutes during Wednesday's 106-103 victory over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Maxey led Philadelphia in threes made and assists while finishing second on the team in scoring and rebounds in a near double-double showing Wednesday. Maxey has hauled in nine or more boards in two games this season, tallying at least 25 points in four of his seven appearances.
Nov 4, 2023
Orchestrates victory
Maxey logged 22 points (9-18 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, 10 assists and one block over 36 minutes during Saturday's 112-100 win over Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
Maxey logged a season-high 10 assists, although it represented his second double-double of the season after a 10-rebound effort Sunday. He's averaging a whopping 38.4 minutes per game and his usage has him on track for All-Star level output. The 22-year-old has accounted for 18.1 percent of the 76ers' possessions plus assists this season.
Nov 1, 2023
Not listed on injury report
Maxey (hand) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Thursday's matchup against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was evaluated for a hand injury after posting 26 points (6-14 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 10-10 FT), 10 rebounds and four assists in 35 minutes during Sunday's win over the Raptors. However, it appears the issue was minor and won't force him to miss any game action. With James Harden (conditioning) out of the picture, Maxey has flourished to begin 2023-24, averaging 30.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists in 38.7 minutes per game.
Oct 29, 2023
Being evaluated for hand injury
Maxey dealt with a hand injury during Sunday's win over the Trail Blazers and will be evaluated in the coming days, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey never exited Sunday's matchup and finished the matchup with 26 points (6-14 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 10-10 FT), 10 rebounds and four assists in 35 minutes. However, he was flexing his right hand during the game and will be checked out early this week to make sure he isn't dealing with a substantial injury. Coach Nick Nurse didn't sound too concerned about the issue, and Maxey will have several days to recover before the 76ers face Toronto on Thursday.
Oct 28, 2023
Scores 30-plus again
Maxey produced 34 points (12-20 FG, 7-9 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, seven assists and one block in 41 minutes during Saturday's 114-107 win over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
After not taking a single shot in the first quarter, Maxey exploded in the second frame for 15 points that helped the 76ers keep a three-point lead heading into halftime. He's scored at least 31 points in each of the first two contests of the season and has played in at least 40 minutes in both games. His usage is likely to take a hit if James Harden returns, but Maxey has shown to be a reliable second option next to reigning MVP Joel Embiid.
Oct 26, 2023
Leads 76ers in scoring Thursday
Maxey chipped in 31 points (10-22 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 8-10 FT), four rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 40 minutes during Thursday's 118-117 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Joel Embiid is widely expected to operate as the Sixers' main scoring threat on a game-to-game basis, but Maxey took over in this one, as Embiid was tightly guarded near the rim, and he took advantage to lead the team in both points and assists. Maxey averaged 20.3 points, 3.5 assists and 2.9 rebounds last season, and it wouldn't be shocking to see him surpass those numbers, especially if James Harden remains away from the team due to his trade demands.
Oct 21, 2023
Double-double in preseason finale
Maxey scored 15 points (5-11 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT) while adding 12 assists, three steals, two rebounds and a block in 32 minutes during Friday's 120-106 preseason win over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
James Harden remains away from the Sixers due to his trade demand, and it's looking doubtful he'll be in the lineup when the regular season tips off Thursday, Oct. 26 against the Bucks. That could be good news for Maxey though, as the fourth-year guard sees more of the ball after recording a career-high 24.1 percent usage rate last season. Joel Embiid remains the centerpiece of Philly's offense, but with Maxey as the No. 2 option rather than the No. 3, a career-best campaign would likely follow.
Oct 18, 2023
Goes through practice
Maxey (back) was a full participant at Wednesday's practice, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey had some back spasms during Monday's preseason contest, but he appears to be 100 percent after that slight setback. Presumably, Maxey will be ready to roll for Friday's preseason finale against Atlanta.

Won't return Monday
Maxey has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's preseason game against the Nets due to back spasms, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
The Sixers won't take any chances with their starting guard and have elected to hold him out the rest of the way. Jaden Springer, Danny Green and Kelly Oubre could see additional minutes in the second half.
Oct 12, 2023
Scores 17 points Wednesday
Maxey had 17 points (7-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists and two steals across 28 minutes in Wednesday's 112-101 preseason loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was active on both ends of the court in this one, though he certainly made his presence felt on the offensive end and finished as one of Philadelphia's highest-scoring players. Maxey is expected to begin the season as the 76ers' starter at shooting guard, though his role as a scorer will be secondary while slotting behind Joel Embiid (rest) and James Harden (personal) in the pecking order.
Oct 9, 2023
Shines in loss to Boston
Maxey notched 24 points (9-17 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block across 29 minutes in Sunday's 114-106 preseason loss against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Maxey struggled a bit from three-point range, but other than that, he was the Sixers' main offensive weapon and finished as the team's highest scorer by a sizable margin. He should make the most of his chances in preseason, as he'll have a secondary role on offense once the regular season begins behind Joel Embiid (rest) and James Harden (personal).
May 15, 2023
Scores 17 points in Game 7 loss
Maxey had 17 points (5-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds and four assists in 42 minutes during Sunday's 112-88 loss to the Celtics in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
ANALYSIS
Although the Sixers fell short for a second consecutive year, Maxey has proven to be one of the team's most dependable producers. The Kentucky product averaged 20.3 points, 3.5 assists and 2.9 rebounds in his third season with the Sixers and was an effective complement to James Harden in the backcourt.
May 10, 2023
Explodes for 30 points in Game 5
Maxey accumulated 30 points (10-21 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds and three assists over 42 minutes during Tuesday's 115-103 win over the Celtics in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
ANALYSIS
Maxey stepped his game up when Philadelphia needed him the most, and the explosive guard finished as the 76ers' second-best scorer, only behind Joel Embiid's 33-point mark. This was an excellent bounce-back effort for Maxey, as he had failed to reach the 15-point plateau in the previous three games of the series. He's averaged 20.3 points per game through nine postseason contests thus far.
May 7, 2023
Sparks team in near double-double
Maxey closed Sunday's 116-115 overtime victory over the Celtics in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with 14 points (6-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt), eight rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in 45 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was one of three 76ers in double figures in scoring, finishing two rebounds shy of a double-double in Sunday's overtime win in Game 4. Maxey struggled shooting the ball Sunday, but managed to contribute offensively with a bucket in overtime to help push Philadelphia to victory.
May 5, 2023
Struggles mightily in loss
Maxey logged 13 points (4-16 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 40 minutes during Friday's 114-102 loss to the Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
ANALYSIS
Maxey couldn't get anything going in the loss, shooting just 4-of-16 from the field en route to 13 points. Both he and James Harden (16 points on 3-of-14 shooting) fell short of the mark, underperforming on a night when there should have been celebrations following the awarding of Joel Embiid's MVP trophy. Now trailing 2-1 in the series, the 76ers will need to get a lot more out of Maxey should they hope to keep this competitive.
May 1, 2023
Strong second half in Game 1 win
Maxey accumulated 26 points (10-24 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one rebound, two assists and four steals in 36 minutes during Monday's 119-115 victory over the Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
ANALYSIS
Maxey helped spark a second-half comeback for Philadelphia in Monday's Game 1 win, scoring 19 of his 26 points in the second half while finishing second on the team in scoring. Maxey has tallied 25 or more points in three of his five postseason appearances.
Apr 20, 2023
Leads from deep as top scorer
Maxey ended Thursday's 102-97 victory over the Nets in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals with 25 points (10-17 FG, 5-8 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and one steal over 36 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey picked up Philadelphia's offense in Thursday's Game 3 victory, leading the team in scoring and threes made en route to a 25-point performance. Maxey, who tallied 12 points in the opening quarter alone, has scored 25 or more points in two straight postseason games.
Apr 17, 2023
Strong from deep to lead offense
Maxey provided 33 points (13-23 FG, 6-13 3Pt, 1-3 FT), three rebounds and one block across 40 minutes during Monday's 96-84 win over the Nets in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
Maxey led all players in Monday's game in scoring and threes made en route to surpassing the 30-point mark for the first time of the postseason. Maxey, who scored 18 points in the second half alone, scored 30 or more points seven times during the regular season.
Apr 14, 2023
Not on injury report for Game 1
Maxey (rest) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Saturday's Game 1 clash with the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Maxey took the final three games of the regular season off to rest up ahead of the playoffs, so he should be fresh as the Sixers begin their postseason run. Maxey posted a career-best campaign in the scoring column during 2022-23, racking up 20.3 points per game on a career-best 43.4 percent from beyond the arc, knocking down 2.7 treys per game. He'll remain a significant part of the equation for Philadelphia in the postseason and should reassume his starting role.
Apr 8, 2023
Resting before playoffs
Maxey (neck) is out for Sunday's matchup at Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Philadelphia's core players are getting the night off to stay fresh for the upcoming first-round playoff series against Brooklyn. Maxey concludes the 2022-23 regular season with averages of 20.3 points, 3.5 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 33.6 minutes.
Apr 7, 2023
Out again Friday
Maxey (neck) will not suit up for Friday's game versus the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is one of numerous regulars in the rotation who will sit out for the Sixers on Friday as the end of the regular season looms Sunday. He'll get a rest alongside James Harden (Achilles) P.J. Tucker (calf), Joel Embiid (rest) and likely at least De'Anthony Melton (calf), though Tobias Harris (hip) is also questionable. That essentially means the Sixers will be relying on heavy minutes from the usual reserves in this one.
Apr 6, 2023
Out Thursday
Maxey (neck) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Heat, Sean Barnard of Philly Sports Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will hit the sidelines for the first game of this back-to-back with a stiff neck, but maybe he'll be able to return for Friday's game in Atlanta. De'Anthony Melton will get the start in his place Thursday and will be joined in the first unit by James Harden, Tobias Harris, P.J. Tucker and Joel Embiid.
Apr 5, 2023
Termed questionable for Thursday
Maxey is listed as questionable for Thursday's game versus the Heat due to neck stiffness.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is coming off a rough showing against the Celtics, finishing with his lowest scoring output of the season (five points) over 40 minutes while committing four turnovers. The team should provide confirmation of his status before the 7:30 p.m. ET opening tipoff.
Apr 3, 2023
Leads team with 29 points in loss
Maxey chipped in 29 points (9-15 FG, 6-7 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal across 35 minutes during Sunday's 117-104 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Maxey excelled while backcourt teammate James Harden struggled with only 11 points, marking one of his lowest point totals of the season. Harden's return to action after a four game absence hasn't done much to curb Maxey's production, as he's averaged 21.3 points, 4.0 assists and 2.7 rebounds over the past three games. He's also converted an impressive 60 percent of his attempts beyond the arc over the same span.
Mar 30, 2023
Hits for 22 in win
Maxey registered 22 points (6-13 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, four assists and two steals over 34 minutes during Wednesday's 116-108 victory over Dallas.
ANALYSIS
The third-year guard topped 20 points for the seventh straight game as he continues to be the one constant in the 76ers lineup while Joel Embiid and James Harden spot in and out of the lineup due to various injuries. Maxey is averaging 23.3 points, 3.6 assists, 3.6 threes, 3.4 boards and 0.9 steals through 16 games in March while shooting 55.1 percent from the floor, 51.3 percent from beyond the arc and 93.8 percent from the free-throw line.
Mar 28, 2023
Shines sans Embiid, Harden
Maxey posted a team-high 29 points (12-21 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-5 FT), five assists, four rebounds and three steals across 34 minutes in Monday's 116-111 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
After erupting for 37 points -- his second-best total of the season -- in Saturday's loss to the Suns, Maxey took center stage for the 76ers once again Monday while Joel Embiid (calf) and James Harden (Achilles) were sidelined. Maxey came through with another efficient scoring line, and the three steals further burnished the overall value of his fantasy output. Maxey has been on a hot offensive run of late with 20-plus points in six straight games and at least five assists in five of those games, but it bears mentioning that Harden has been sidelined for all but one of those six contests. Embiid looks like a good bet to play Wednesday against the Mavericks, and Harden could also put an end to his four-game absence. If that's the case, Maxey's usage would take a significant hit.
Mar 26, 2023
Explodes for 37 points Saturday
Maxey contributed 37 points (14-19 FG, 7-11 3Pt, 2-3 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Saturday's 125-105 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Despite the fact the Sixers lost by 20 points, Maxey had one of his best performances of the season while registering his second-best scoring output of the campaign. The former Kentucky star has been outstanding in recent games and extended his streak of games with 20-plus points to five appearances, proving he can thrive as the team's third-best option on offense behind Joel Embiid and James Harden (Achilles). He also showed he can step his game up if one of the two stars is missing. Maxey is averaging 23.0 points per game since the beginning of March.
Mar 25, 2023
Quality production sans Harden
Maxey totaled 21 points (7-16 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, five assists and one steal across 40 minutes during Friday's 120-112 loss to Golden State.
ANALYSIS
Maxey continues to play well with Harden in and out of the lineup due to an Achilles issue and has scored at least 20 points in five of his last six appearances. During that stretch, the third-year guard has averaged 21.8 points, 4.5 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 37.2 minutes per game.
Mar 23, 2023
Struggles after big second quarter
Maxey supplied 21 points (8-19 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one steal in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 116-91 victory over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Maxey got hot in the second quarter with 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field and 3-of-3 shooting from behind the arc before entering the half with 16 points, two assists and two rebounds. He was unable to carry that momentum into the second half, however, as he went just 2-of-9 for another five points over the final two quarters while the 76ers made short work of Chicago on the road. The point guard still finished second in the game in scoring with 21 points, despite his late struggles and has now broken the 20-point mark in three straight. Maxey has also knocked down at least four threes in three of his last five games and is shooting a very healthy 51.9 percent from beyond the arc in March.
Mar 21, 2023
Hits for 22 against Chicago
Maxey finished with 22 points (9-19 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, six assists and one block over 46 minutes during Monday's 109-105 double-overtime loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
The third-year guard has been locked in since moving back into the starting five at the beginning of March. Maxey has scored more than 20 points in eight of 11 games on the month, averaging 22.1 points, 3.4 assists, 3.4 threes and 2.8 boards over that stretch while shooting 56.1 percent from the floor and a dazzling 52.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Mar 19, 2023
Big performance in critical game
Maxey closed Saturday's 141-121 win over the Pacers with 31 points (12-18 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Coming off a down game in Friday's win over Charlotte, Maxey made his tenth consecutive start Saturday. His 31 points tied Joel Embiid for the game's lead and marked his sixth 30-point performance of the season in what was a pivotal game for the 76ers and fantasy managers alike. Philadelphia now sits one game back of the Celtics for second place in the East, and the fantasy playoffs are in full swing. The 76ers have four games next week, and Maxey will need to play big minutes to keep their hopes of home-court advantage through at least two rounds of the playoffs alive.
Mar 16, 2023
Returns to form in win
Maxey closed Wednesday's 118-109 win over the Cavaliers with 23 points (8-14 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
After starting the season in the starting lineup, Maxey had been mostly relegated to sixth-man duties after missing time in November and December. He has been inserted back into the starting lineup over the last seven games and has averaged 22 points per contest. He once again got the start Wednesday and managed 24 points while knocking down five shots from behind the arc. Philadelphia will need Maxey to continue to produce at a high level as they look to challenge for a top 2 seed in the East.
Mar 6, 2023
Stays hot from three
Maxey recorded 24 points (8-13 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two assists and one steal in 37 minutes during Monday's 147-143 victory over Indiana.
ANALYSIS
For the first time this season Maxey has scored at least 20 points in five straight games. The second-year guard has been drilling threes, as he has made 19 over the last five games at a 57.8 percent clip. Riding his hot shooting, Maxey has been a top-60 player in 9-category leagues over the last two weeks. Unfortunately, he didn't produce in many categories Monday, as he failed to grab a rebound for the third time this season.
Mar 2, 2023
Leads Sixers in scoring Wednesday
Maxey accumulated 27 points (10-17 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 37 minutes during Wednesday's 119-96 victory over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Maxey started for the first time since Jan. 21 and made his presence felt, leading the team in scoring and proving to the coaching staff that he's more than ready to carry the team offensively when needed. Even though his 27-point was impressive, Maxey will likely return to a bench role if Joel Embiid (foot) is fit to face the Mavericks on Thursday.
Mar 1, 2023
Starting Wednesday
Maxey will join the first unit for Wednesday's matchup with the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will draw the spot start with Joel Embiid (foot) sidelined for the contest. It will be his first appearance in the starting lineup since Jan. 21. In his last seven starts, Maxey has averaged 21.7 points, 4.1 assists and 2.4 rebounds across 34.6 minutes.
Feb 28, 2023
Pops for 23 off bench
Maxey fouled out of Monday's 101-99 loss to the Heat after recording 23 points (8-16 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 3-4 FT), one rebound and two assists across 27 minutes off the bench.
ANALYSIS
He poured in 19 of his 23 points after halftime as the 76ers tried to rally from an eight-point deficit at intermission, and they might have pulled it off had Maxey not left the game with 3:21 left in the fourth quarter. The third-year guard has topped 20 points three times in the last seven games as Philly's sixth man, averaging 18.3 points, 3.0 assists, 2.3 boards, 2.1 threes and 0.9 steals over that stretch.
Feb 14, 2023
Erupts for 26 points
Maxey closed Monday's 123-104 victory over the Rockets with 26 points (10-16 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, six assists and two steals over 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey's production has been all over the place lately, but this is what he's capable of when he's in a rhythm. On top of the offense, coach Doc Rivers sounded excited about Maxey's improved defense and said it's been trending in the right direction in recent games.
Feb 11, 2023
Solid night in win
Maxey totaled 27 points (9-16 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 4-5 FT), two assists and three steals across 33 minutes during Friday's 119-108 victory over New York.
ANALYSIS
Maxey put up another solid performance Friday night in the midst of a bit of a down stretch. He now has two games over 25 points and two games in single-digit scoring over his last six contests. The third-year pro has little fantasy value outside of his scoring ability and is a low-end fantasy option for managers. Maxey is always a threat to get hot with a strong scoring performance in any game.
Feb 3, 2023
Breaks out of slump
Maxey amassed 25 points (8-15 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), three rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 27 minutes during Friday's 137-125 win over San Antonio.
ANALYSIS
An outburst from Maxey was long overdue. In his previous three contests, Maxey averaged a mere 10.3 points on 32 percent shooting. Unless the 76ers make an unlikely splash at the trade deadline, Friday's production is something you should see quite a bit down the stretch as he continues to benefit from more usage in the second unit.
Feb 2, 2023
Quiet in win over Orlando
Maxey finished with 10 points (2-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), one rebound, two assists and one steal in 31 minutes during Wednesday's 105-94 victory over the Magic.
ANALYSIS
While the Sixers avenged their loss to the Magic on Monday, Maxey had another quiet outing, despite seeing 31 minutes of action. The 2020 first-rounder hit just 2-of-11 shots and did not provide fantasy managers with much in terms of non-scoring stats. Over his last three games, Maxey has totaled only 31 points, five rebounds, eight assists and one steal. Prior to that three-game sample, Maxey had averaged 21.5 points and 3.3 assists in his previous 10 games (Jan. 6 to Jan. 25).
Jan 26, 2023
Team-high 27 points off bench
Maxey supplied 27 points (8-14 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds, five assists and two steals across 30 minutes during Wednesday's 137-133 victory over Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Maxey led the offensive charge for Philadelphia despite coming off the bench, racking up 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. He went just 2-of-6 after the break while making all five of his free throws attempts to reach a team-high 27 points on the night. The point guard also knocked down a team-high six three-pointers in the contest and has broken the 25-point mark in back-to-back games.
Jan 25, 2023
On bench Wednesday
Maxey is on the bench for Wednesday's game against the Nets, Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will head to the bench with James Harden and DeAnthony Melton in the backcourt. The former Kentucky standout scored 32 points Saturday against the Kings as a starter, but he's averaging 14.8 points per game in five outings off the bench.
Jan 22, 2023
Leads short-handed team to victory
Maxey posted 32 points (12-29 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds and six assists across 41 minutes during Saturday's 129-127 victory over Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Maxey started in place of James Harden (foot) and led a balanced offense against the Kings, who were able to dictate the tempo in the first half. The talented guard put on the gas in the third quarter, further cementing the argument the that he deserves a return to the starting lineup. While De'Anthony Melton can pop occasionally, Maxey's play should make Melton's handle on the starting role a bit more tenuous.
Jan 21, 2023
Starts against Sacramento
Maxey is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Maxey jumps to the starting lineup with James Harden (foot) ruled out, and he should have a prominent role on offense since Joel Embiid (foot) is also sidelined. The former Kentucky standout is averaging 22.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game across 21 starts this season.
Jan 18, 2023
Spurs rally from bench
Maxey ended Tuesday's 120-110 victory over the Clippers with 22 points (7-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 28 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey proved essential in the second half by fending off the Clippers, who chipped away at the Sixers' first-half lead. Maxey's lengthy absence allowed De'Anthony Melton to slip into the starting lineup, but based on the recent metrics, Maxey may find himself back in the starting five alongside James Harden soon.
Jan 15, 2023
Coming off bench Sunday
Maxey isn't starting Sunday against the Lakers, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey started the last six matchups and averaged 20.0 points, 3.8 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 33.5 minutes per game. He'll come off the bench against the Lakers while De'Anthony Melton draws his second consecutive start.
Jan 8, 2023
Top scorer to lead offensively
Maxey totaled 23 points (8-18 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 5-6 FT), two assists and one steal over 33 minutes during Sunday's 123-111 win over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Maxey led Philadelphia in scoring en route to his second consecutive 20-point performance. Maxey has scored 20 or more point in 11 games this season.
Jan 7, 2023
Heats up from three
Maxey racked up 26 points (8-15 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, six assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Friday's 126-112 loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Maxey did significant damage from beyond the arc, scoring 15 of his 26 points from deep. He turned in a balanced performance by scoring 13 points in each half, but he did manage to get to the charity stripe six times in the second half after failing to do so in the first two quarters. It appears that Maxey is now back up to speed following a lengthy absence due to injury, logging 37 minutes in back-to-back contests.
Jan 4, 2023
Gets starting nod
Maxey is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is in will enter the starting lineup with Joel Embiid (foot) out. The third-year guard will likely see his minutes increase from 27 in his last outing.
Jan 4, 2023
Minutes increasing, could start
Head coach Doc Rivers relayed Wednesday that Maxey will get in the game "early for sure" and noted he could start versus the Pacers, Justin Grasso of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey logged 27 minutes in the previous game versus the Pelicans, so he doesn't have too far to go to reach the 34.8 minutes per game he's averaging on the year. With Joel Embiid (foot) sidelined Wednesday, Maxey is an option to get the starting nod. However, it remains to be seen if that would lead to a consistent role in the starting unit again, which would likely mean a move to the bench for De'Anthony Melton.
Jan 2, 2023
Maintaining bench role for now
Coach Doc Rivers said Monday that Maxey will continue to come off the bench for the time being, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has missed 19 of the last 20 games due to a foot injury, but he'll be available for Monday's game against the Pelicans. Although he started in his first 15 appearances of the season, he played 19 minutes off the bench Friday and will continue to have his minutes ramped up while coming off the bench in the near future. De'Anthony Melton should continue to start alongside James Harden in the backcourt.
Jan 1, 2023
Omitted from injury report
Maxey (foot) isn't listed on the injury report for Monday's game versus the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Maxey predictably took the day off Saturday after returning from a month-plus absence the night prior versus the Pelicans. Maxey will return to the floor Monday in a rematch with New Orleans and figures to eventually retake his spot in the starting lineup. However, he may still be facing a minutes limit and not ready to do so just yet, which would presumably result in De'Anthony Melton making another start alongside James Harden.
Dec 31, 2022
Won't play Saturday
Maxey has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Thunder due to left foot injury management.
ANALYSIS
Maxey returned from a lengthy absence Friday against the Pelicans and tallied nine points, a rebound and an assist in 19 minutes. However, the 76ers will manage his workload, and he'll be unavailable for the second half of the back-to-back set Saturday. However, it wouldn't be surprising to see him back on the court Monday against New Orleans.
Dec 31, 2022
Subdued in Friday's return
Maxey finished Friday's 127-116 loss to New Orleans with nine points (4-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt), one rebound and one assist across 19 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey made his long-awaited return from a foot injury, coming off the bench in what is part of his ramp-up process. Despite scoring just nine points, he looked full of energy and didn't appear hampered by the injury that cost him upwards of six weeks. While it likely going to be a week or two before he is back to full speed, managers should certainly be encouraged by this performance.
Dec 30, 2022
Available Friday
Maxey (foot) is available for Friday's game at New Orleans, Lauren Rosen of the 76ers' official site reports. He will have a minutes limit and come off the bench.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Maxey will be playing in his first game since Nov. 18. After missing the past month and a half with a broken foot, the team will opt to play it safe. Fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if Maxey is on a minutes limit and/or comes off the bench for the next few games, if not longer. Shake Milton will likely see his role reduced significantly, and De'Anthony Melton is also at risk for decreased production.
Dec 29, 2022
Probable Friday
Maxey (foot) is probable for Friday's game against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Maxey hasn't played since Nov. 18 due to a fractured left foot, but he returned to practice Thursday and will likely be back in action for the first half of a back-to-back set Friday. Given the length of his absence, he'll presumably face a minutes restriction if he's given the green light against New Orleans.
Dec 29, 2022
Practices, targeting weekend return
Maxey (foot) took part in practice Thursday and hopes to rejoin the lineup either Friday against the Pelicans or Saturday versus the Thunder, Gina Mizell of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey last saw action Nov. 18 against the Bucks, so he's likely headed for limited action even when he's given clearance. The injury report released later in the day Thursday should provide a clearer picture of his chances of suiting up against New Orleans.
Dec 26, 2022
Could return Friday
Maxey (foot) could return as early as Friday against the Pelicans, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has missed the last 16 games due to a fractured left foot, but coach Doc Rivers has indicated recently that the 22-year-old is close to returning. Maxey will presumably be unavailable for Tuesday's game in Washington, but he'll be in the mix to return as early as Friday. He'll likely face a minutes restriction once he's cleared for game action.
Dec 24, 2022
Won't play on Christmas
Maxey (foot) is out for Sunday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will miss his 16th straight game Sunday with a left foot fracture. However, 76ers coach Doc Rivers said he is close to returning. Maxey's next chance to play is Tuesday's matchup with the Wizards.
Dec 23, 2022
Close to return
Coach Doc Rivers said Maxey (foot) is "close" to returning but will likely not be ready in time for the team's Christmas day matchup with the Knicks, Justin Grasso of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey appears to be ahead of schedule in his recovery from a fractured left foot after being tabbed as a few weeks away on Dec. 15. Although he may not be ready quite yet, fantasy managers should expect a return within the near future. Maxey will likely have his minutes monitored initially, while Shake Milton and De'Anthony Melton will see lessened roles upon his return.
Dec 15, 2022
Likely out multiple weeks still
76ers coach Doc Rivers said Maxey (foot) is still unable to practice and believe he is still a "few weeks away" from returning, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey hasn't played since Nov. 18 due to a fracture in his left foot. Shake Milton, De'Anthony Melton and Furkan Korkmaz have seen extended minutes in his absence. Based on Rivers' comments, it seems likely that Maxey won't return to the court until the beginning of 2023.
Dec 11, 2022
Without specific target for return
Maxey (foot) appeared to be a partial participant Wednesday in the 76ers' practice session, but head coach Doc Rivers said afterward that the guard remains without a specific timeline for his return, Rich Hofmann of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Shortly after Maxey was diagnosed with a small fracture of his left foot after exiting the 76ers' Nov. 18 win over the Bucks, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that the 22-year-old would require 3-to-4 weeks of recovery time. Maxey is now approaching the short end of that timeline, but he seems destined to miss the full four weeks -- if not longer -- based on where he currently stands in his recovery. Rivers said Maxey was able to do some running Wednesday, but Maxey isn't jumping yet while he looks to avoid putting added pressure on the broken foot.
Nov 19, 2022
Out 3-4 weeks with fracture
Maxey (foot) is out approximately three-to-four weeks due to a small fracture in his left foot, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was helped to the locker room during Friday's game against the Bucks after landing awkwardly. Though initial X-rays were negative, more testing revealed a small fracture. In Friday's game, Shake Milton ended up seeing 31 minutes. He should be the biggest beneficiary of Maxey's absence, though De'Anthony Melton, Tobias Harris and even Joel Embiid figure to see increased usage. James Harden (foot) is expected to return sometime in early December.
Nov 19, 2022
Looks set to miss time
Philadelphia head coach Doc Rivers said after Friday's 110-102 win over Milwaukee that he anticipates it will be "a little bit" before Maxey returns to the court, but the team won't have an update on the guard's recovery timeline until he undergoes an MRI on Saturday, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though initial X-rays on Maxey's injured left foot returned negative, the 22-year-old could still be dealing with a serious enough sprain to his left foot/ankle to require a multi-game absence. Before suffering the injury late in the second quarter and not returning, Maxey was in the midst of his best game of the season, as he produced 24 points (9-12 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), five assists and four rebounds in 21 minutes. With James Harden (foot) likely out until after Thanksgiving Day, De'Anthony Melton and Shake Milton would presumably be next in line for elevated roles out of the backcourt if Maxey joins Harden on the sideline. Maxey was sporting a walking boot following Friday's contest, so at the very least, he appears safe to rule out for Saturday's game against the Timberwolves.
Nov 18, 2022
Won't return Friday
Maxey has been ruled out for the remainder of Friday's game against the Bucks due to a left foot injury, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey suffered the left foot injury in the first half of Friday's matchup and has since been ruled out for the remainder of the contest. Per Wojnarowski, X-rays were negative, but the combo guard will still undergo an MRI on Saturday. Maxey presumably won't be able to play in the second half of the 76ers' back-to-back set Saturday, so his next opportunity to suit up will come Tuesday against the Nets. Shake Milton started the second half and figures to garner an increased role if Maxey remains sidelined for an extended period.
Nov 13, 2022
Decent all-around stat line
Maxey logged 18 points (8-24 FG, 2-8 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists, one block and four steals across 37 minutes during Sunday's 105-98 victory over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Maxey contributed across the board in this one despite suffering through a tough shooting night. Luckily, the 76ers didn't need much help in the scoring department, as Joel Embiid scored more than half of his team's points with 59. Maxey set a new top mark on the season with four steals and also scored in double figures for the tenth straight contest.
Nov 11, 2022
Another poor shooting night
Maxey logged 15 points (5-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds and five assists over 33 minutes during Thursday's 104-95 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
It was another tough night from the field for Maxey, scoring just two points in the first half on 1-of-5 shooting as the 76ers struggled to generate much offense outside of Joel Embiid. Maxey didn't fare much better in the second half, going just 4-of-12 from the field for 13 points while adding two assists and two rebounds. The poor shooting performance comes on the heels of a 4-of-18 night from Maxey in the Sixers' previous contest, as the point guard has now failed to reach 20 points in two straight after going for 30 or more in four of his previous six games.
Nov 8, 2022
Struggles badly from field
Maxey had 11 points (4-18 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 3-6 FT), five rebounds, six assists and one block across 40 minutes during Monday's 100-88 win over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is having an excellent season, but this was one of his worst outings of the campaign since he needed 18 shots to deliver only 11 points, his second-lowest mark of the campaign, and he also failed to make at least one three just for the second time this season. His role as one of Philadelphia's best scoring threats shouldn't be under any question, especially with James Harden (foot) out, though, so there's a strong chance this was nothing but a bad game for the former Kentucky standout.
Nov 5, 2022
Shines despite loss
Maxey ended with 31 points (10-29 FG, 4-13 3Pt, 7-7 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 39 minutes during Friday's 106-104 loss to New York.
ANALYSIS
Maxey had to embrace a bigger role offensively with Joel Embiid (illness) and James Harden (foot) sidelined, and the star guard responded with his second consecutive 30-point performance. The 22-year-old has now scored at least 28 points in five of his last six games, and he should remain the 76ers' main offensive threat while both Embiid and Harden remain out.
Nov 2, 2022
Scores 32 points in loss
Maxey logged 32 points (11-20 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 5-8 FT), two rebounds and four assists in 43 minutes during Wednesday's 121-111 loss to the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Maxey produced another excellent offensive performance Wednesday, making at least 11 shots for the fourth time in his last five games. He's averaging 29.8 points while making 56.7 percent of his shots and going 22-for-41 from beyond the arc during that stretch. The 21-year-old is averaging 17.2 shot attempts per game and it looks as if he'll get his fair share of offensive opportunities alongside Joel Embiid (illness) and James Harden.
Nov 1, 2022
Goes for 28 points
Maxey logged 28 points (12-22 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one steal across 34 minutes during Monday's 118-111 victory over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Maxey is moving rapidly on the way to becoming an absolute superstar and while he is not as consistent as other top offensive options around the league, he's undoubtedly moving in the right direction in that regard as well. Taking advantage of the fact that Joel Embiid (illness) was sidelined, Maxey embraced a bigger role offensively and led the Sixers to victory. He has scored at least 25 points in four of his last six games, a span in which he also produced a career-best 44 points against the Raptors on Oct. 28.
Oct 31, 2022
Fourth-year option picked up
The 76ers exercised Maxey's $4.34 million option for 2023-24 on Sunday, Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
The 21-year-old is thus on track to return to Philadelphia for a fourth year in 2023-24 before potentially reaching free agency, though there's a good chance that both sides work out an extension prior to next season. While seeing more time off the ball so far in his first full season playing alongside James Harden, Maxey has gotten off to a hot start to the current campaign with averages of 22.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 3.1 three-pointers and 1.1 steals in 37.4 minutes per contest through seven games.
Oct 30, 2022
Crashes down to earth against CHI
Maxey posted 14 points (5-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal over 29 minutes during Saturday's 114-109 win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Maxey scored a career-best 44 points against the Raptors on Friday, but the return of Joel Embiid was a sign that he was not going to repeat those numbers. The 14-point effort was a subpar performance compared to what he's done all season long, but fantasy owners shouldn't put too much stock into a performance in the second half of a back-to-back while playing on the road. After all, Maxey has scored 20-plus points in four of his seven appearances this season and has surpassed the 30-point mark in two of his last three.
Oct 29, 2022
Posts career-best 44 points
Maxey ended Friday's 112-90 win over the Raptors with 44 points (15-20 FG, 9-12 3Pt, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and one steal over 40 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey had to carry the team's offensive load with Joel Embiid (knee) sidelined and James Harden delivering a subpar performance, and he responded with his best scoring performance of his career. Maxey is quickly becoming a bonafide superstar and his numbers back that up -- he has posted at least 30 points in back-to-back games and has reached the 20-point plateau in four of his six outings to date.
Oct 26, 2022
Scores season-high 31 points
Maxey racked up 31 points (12-21 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals in 43 minutes during Wednesday's 119-109 loss to Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was coming off an eight-point performance (3-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt) during Monday's win over the Pacers, but he bounced back admirably here -- he delivered his best scoring output of the campaign while leading the Sixers in scoring in this loss. The Sixers have not had a good start to the season, but Maxey has looked quite good as Philadelphia's third-best scoring option behind Joel Embiid and James Harden, as he has scored at least 20 points in three of his five appearances so far.
Oct 25, 2022
Takes backseat in win
Maxey produced eight points (3-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt), two rebounds, three assists and one steal across 38 minutes during Monday's 120-106 victory over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey failed to score in double figures for the first time this season, as James Harden, Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris led the Sixers in scoring during the win. Despite his subpar performance, Maxey is still posting 17.3 points per game and figures to be a consistent producer for Philadelphia throughout the campaign.
Oct 18, 2022
Drops 21 points Tuesday
Maxey closed Tuesday's 126-117 loss to the Celtics with 21 points (8-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound, two assists and two steals in 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was on the floor for every second of the second and fourth quarters and scored 15 of his 21 points in those periods. The 21-year-old was able to get 16 shot attempts as Philadelphia staggered playing time between James Harden and Maxey with Maxey receiving some rest while Harden played nearly all of the first and third quarters. After an up-and-down rookie season, Maxey produced an excellent sophomore campaign, averaging 17.5 points while making 48.5 percent of shot attempts and 42.7 percent of three-point tries. He's likely to play a pivotal role in the Sixers' offense as the season progresses.
Oct 13, 2022
Struggles with shot Wednesdsay
Maxey tallied nine points (3-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, two assists and three steals over 27 minutes Wednesday against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
While Maxey contributed across the board in other categories Wednesday, he did struggle to knock down shots in the contest despite hoisting the third-most on the team behind Joel Emiid (17 attempts) and James Harden (15 attempts). Still, the shot volume is encouraging in just 27 minutes, especially if it translates to a larger total when his minutes expand closer to the 35.3 per game he averaged last season.
Oct 11, 2022
Pops for 19 points Monday
Maxey compiled 19 points (6-14 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one assist and one steal in 25 minutes during Monday's win over Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Maxey continued his recent strong play, turning in another impressive offensive performance. The hype is real when it comes to Maxey taking a step forward this season, although managers will want to account for his lack of peripheral numbers when selecting him in drafts.
Oct 6, 2022
Game-high 21 points
Maxey scored 21 points (9-11 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT) with two assists, a rebound and a steal over 15 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Cavs.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was lights out from the field on Wednesday, knocking down four of five shots in the first quarter, including a three-pointer, while also hitting Tobias Harris with a three-point assist. The Sixers point guard kept his foot on the gas in the second, making all five of his shots in the quarter, including two three-pointers. He hit his last seven shots in the game before sitting for all of the second half and appears ready to help lead the 76ers offense as they prepare for the regular season.
Oct 4, 2022
Leading scorer against Nets
Maxey scored 20 points (6-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT) while adding three assists, a rebound and a steal in only 14 minutes during Monday's preseason win over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
The third-year guard was one of only two likely starters for the Sixers in the starting five for this one alongside Tobias Harris, but Maxey made the most of his limited court time. After a breakout 2021-22 regular season and an even more impressive playoff run, big things are expected from the 21-year-old this year as he carves out a role in a lineup headlined by Joel Embiid and James Harden.

Pops for 20 as Sixers season ends
Maxey closed Thursday's 99-90 loss to the Heat in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with 20 points (9-22 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one block in 42 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The second-year point guard came into his own this postseason, but his run ended Thursday along with the rest of his team. Over 12 playoff contests, Maxey averaged 20.8 points, 3.9 assists, 3.5 boards and 2.2 threes, positioning him to take another step forward with his production in 2022-23.
May 11, 2022
Falls flat in loss
Maxey notched nine points (2-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one steal in 32 minutes during Tuesday's 120-85 loss to Miami.
ANALYSIS
After igniting the 76ers in the fourth quarter of Game 4, Maxey dropped a dud in Game 5. He wasn't alone as the entire Philadelphia offense fell flat, scoring its fewest points of the postseason. The second-year guard broke out during the regular season in the absence of Ben Simmons and has averaged 20.8 points on 49.4 percent shooting through the 76ers' first 11 playoff games. Maxey will need to be at his best in Game 6 if Philadelphia hopes to avoid elimination.
May 9, 2022
Lowest scoring mark of series
Maxey chipped in 18 points (5-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds and four assists across 42 minutes during Sunday's 116-108 victory over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has been so good in the current series against the Heat that this 18-point output was his lowest mark in the four games of the semifinals so far, but he continues to operate as the Sixers' third-best offensive option behind Joel Embiid and James Harden, and the numbers back that up. Through 10 games in the current postseason run, Maxey is averaging 22.0 points while shooting 51.3 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from three-point range.
May 7, 2022
Explodes in second half
Maxey ended with 21 points (7-11 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, six assists and two steals over 39 minutes during Friday's 99-79 win over Miami.
ANALYSIS
After a scoreless first half, Maxey exploded in the second and carried the 76ers to their first win of the series. Through his first eight playoff appearances this season, the second-year combo guard has averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 assists and 3.6 rebounds in 41.3 minutes per game.
May 4, 2022
Stars despite loss
Maxey logged 34 points (12-22 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 9-11 FT), three rebounds, one assist and two steals in 43 minutes during Wednesday's 119-103 loss to Miami.
ANALYSIS
Logging a team-high 43 minutes, Maxey carried Philadelphia offensively with fellow guards James Harden and Danny Green combining to shoot 7-for-25 from the field. Maxey has collected just three assists across two games against Miami thus far -- symbolizing the bump in isolation associated with Harden taking reigns of the offense. The potential return of Joel Embiid (orbital) in Game 3 is best viewed as a stabilizing presence to the 76ers' offense.
Apr 29, 2022
Strikes for 25 in Game 6
Maxey totaled 25 points (8-16 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds and eight assists in 44 minutes during Thursday's 132-97 victory over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
It was his best scoring performance since Maxey erupted for 38 in Game 1, as he bookended the 76ers' first-round victory. The second-year guard averaged 21.3 points, 4.8 assists, 4.7 boards and 2.5 threes in six games against the Raptors, and he's emerged as a key complement to superstars Joel Embiid and James Harden as Philly gets ready to head to Miami for the start of the second round.
Apr 19, 2022
Near triple-double in win
Maxey accumulated 23 points (8-11 FG, 3-6 3PT, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, eight assists, one steal and one block in Monday's 112-97 win over Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has been everything Philadelphia could've hoped for to start their postseason run. The second-year guard is averaging 30.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists on 68.8 percent shooting from the field and 57.1 percent from deep through the first two games of the series.
Apr 17, 2022
Erupts for 38 in Game 1 win
Maxey posted 38 points (14-21 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds and two assists in 38 minutes during Saturday's 131-111 victory over Toronto.
ANALYSIS
While the focus with the 76ers is usually on Joel Embiid and James Harden, surprisingly it was Maxey who took the lead to begin the team's playoff run. The second-year guard had a breakout regular season but he's found another gear in recent weeks, averaging 23.3 points, 4.0 assists, 3.4 threes, 2.1 boards and 1.0 steals since the beginning of April.
Apr 11, 2022
Shines against Detroit
Maxey finished with 25 points (9-15 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 7-7 FT), two rebounds and three assists in 23 minutes during Sunday's 118-106 win over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
The Sixers rested most of their regulars for the final game of the regular season, but Maxey appeared as the starting point guard and handled the bigger offensive responsibility quite well. He heads into the playoffs on a strong note, as he averaged 19.7 points per game over his last seven appearances while also scoring 20 or more points in three of his last four contests.
Apr 5, 2022
Drains eight threes
Maxey dropped 30 points (9-12 FG, 8-11 3PT, 4-4 FT), seven assists, three rebounds, one block and one steal in the 131-122 over Indiana on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
After failing to eclipse 20 points in each of his last six games, Maxey could not miss from deep against Indiana. The second-year guard has been streaky at times but has the potential for a huge game on any given night.
Mar 24, 2022
Posts 21/7/5 line against Lakers
Maxey closed with 21 points (8-14 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 126-121 victory over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was one of four Philadelphia starters to finish with 20-plus points, and he tied for the team lead with seven assists. The second-year point guard also knocked down a trio of triples, marking the sixth straight game in which he has converted multiple three-pointers. Over that stretch, he has shot 45.4 percent (15-for-33) from beyond the arc.
Mar 22, 2022
Carries Philly to victory
Maxey closed with 28 points (9-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 7-7 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one block over 28 minutes during Monday's 113-106 victory over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Maxey had to embrace a bigger responsibility on offense with James Harden (hamstring) and Joel Embiid (back) sidelined, but he responded admirably -- he ended as the Sixers' highest scorer while also contributing in other categories as well. Maxey has emerged as a bonafide third star for the Sixers this season, and he has been playing at a high level of late -- he has racked up 19 or more points in four of his last five outings.
Mar 17, 2022
Racks up 25 points in win
Maxey notched 25 points (9-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds and two assists over 38 minutes during Wednesday's 118-114 victory over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey scored efficiently at all three levels Wednesday, trailing only Joel Embiid (35 points, 13-19 FG) in points. It's worth noting that Maxey averaged 4.6 assists per contest prior to James Harden being acquired by Philadelphia -- a figure that has dropped to 2.9 across 10 games since. Nonetheless, he'll look to carry his offensive momentum into a duel with Dallas on Friday.
Mar 15, 2022
Decent scoring output
Maxey chipped in 19 points (7-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds and three assists over 42 minutes during Monday's 114-110 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Maxey shot just over 50 percent from the field and put up his best scoring total since March 4 against Cleveland. However, his assist totals have been noticeably down since the beginning of February, averaging 3.5 assists over his last 17 games compared to 4.7 assists in his first 43 contests of the season. This may be a result of Maxey's ongoing development as a scorer, now putting up 17.3 points over 60 games on the year.
Mar 6, 2022
Solid while other starters falter
Maxey amassed 17 points (7-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 0-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 35 minutes during Saturday's 99-82 loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Maxey propped up the backcourt with a decent total, but Furkan Korkmaz and Matisse Thybulle did virtually nothing in the starting lineup. With James Harden (rest) out of the lineup, the deficiencies in Philly's starting five are exposed, as they no longer have Seth Curry around to pitch in.
Mar 5, 2022
Shines against Cleveland
Maxey ended Friday's 125-119 victory over the Cavaliers with 33 points (10-15 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 8-9 FT), four rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals in 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey tied his best scoring output of the season and was absolutely dominant across the board, as he missed just five of his 15 field-goal attempts and also reached the 30-point mark for the fourth time in the current campaign. Maxey is emerging as the Sixers' third-best scoring threat over Tobias Harris, and his numbers back that up, as he has scored at least 20 points in each of his last four appearances.
Mar 3, 2022
Stays hot in resounding win
Maxey finished with 25 points (7-12 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 7-8 FT), four rebounds and three assists across 36 minutes Wednesday in the 76ers' 123-108 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
For the third game in a row following James Harden's integration into the 76ers' lineup, Maxey has operated as the team's third option behind Joel Embiid and Harden and ahead of Tobias Harris. He's connected on an incredible 64.3 percent of his attempts from both the field and distance, and while his efficiency will eventually regress in both areas, Maxey has thus far proven to be a better fit alongside Harden than many expected.
Feb 28, 2022
Finding early success with Harden
Maxey finished Sunday's 125-109 win over the Knicks with 21 points (8-14 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and two steals across 37 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Though Maxey has predictably seen a drop in his assist rate (2.5 per game) in first two contests alongside the newly acquired James Harden, the arrival of the 2017-18 league MVP has enhanced the efficiency of both the young point guard and star center Joel Embiid (37 points Sunday on 7-for-18 shooting from field, 23-for-27 from free-throw line). After going off for 28 points and adding four steals in Friday's trouncing of the Timberwolves, Maxey continued to deliver standout production in both categories in Sunday's contest. Given that Maxey has made two-thirds of his field-goal attempts and five of eight three-point attempts (62.5 percent) over the past two contests, he's a prime candidate for regression. Even so, fantasy managers who may have feared that Maxey's value would take a significant hit with the addition of Harden have to be pleasantly surprised by the early returns.
Feb 12, 2022
Shines against Thunder
Maxey produced 24 points (9-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds and two assists across 32 minutes during Friday's 100-87 victory over Oklahoma City.
ANALYSIS
Maxey surpassed the 20-point mark for the second time this month, and the former Kentucky standout continues to shine as a scoring threat for the Sixers. His numbers are likely to take a hit once James Harden (hamstring) makes his debut with the franchise, but Maxey should remain a decent fantasy asset. For what it's worth, he's now scored in double digits in each of his last 17 appearances, averaging 17.9 points per game in that span.
Feb 11, 2022
Good to go Friday
Maxey (hamstring) is available for Friday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will continue to run the show in Philly for at least two more games while James Harden (hamstring) goes through his physical and meets with the team over the weekend. Over his past 16 appearances, he's averaged 17.5 points, 5.5 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 38.0 minutes. Fantasy managers should expect those numbers to decrease once Harden is available.
Feb 10, 2022
Questionable Friday
Maxey is questionable for Friday's matchup against the Thunder due to hamstring soreness, Justin Grasso of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It remains to be seen if the newly-acquired James Harden will be available for Friday's contest. Regardless, when the two are eventually available together, Maxey figures to see a significant decrease in usage.
Feb 7, 2022
All-around performance in win
Maxey totaled 16 points (6-9 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, six assists and three steals across 38 minutes during Sunday's 119-108 win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was one of four 76ers to finish in double figures and added a team-high six dimes, his ninth straight contest with at least five. The second-year point guard also snatched a season-high three steals during the win. Maxey has broken out in the absence of Ben Simmons and is averaging 16.9 points, 4.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 35.8 minutes during his sophomore campaign.

Impressive showing
Maxey closed Wednesday's 106-103 loss to Washington with 22 points (9-16 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Logging at least 35 minutes in each of Philadelphia's last five games, Maxey is a true workhorse. Flirting with a triple-double, Maxey shot efficiently en route to a team-best plus-nine in the box score. The 21-year-old recently finished a strong January, averaging 16.8 points on 45.0 percent shooting, including a blistering 45.5 percent from three.
Jan 26, 2022
Modest showing in win
Maxey racked up 10 points (4-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt), three rebounds and five assists over 35 minutes during Tuesday's 117-107 win over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Maxey attempted only 10 shots and didn't attempt any free throws Tuesday and Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris powered the offense with 75 combined points. The 2020 first-round pick has averaged 15.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 38.4 minutes over eight contests since spending four games in the COVID-19 protocols.
Jan 22, 2022
Another solid performance
Maxey recorded 19 points (7-18 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and eight assists across 46 minutes during Friday's 102-101 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Since returning from a four-game absence due to COVID-19 protocols, Maxey has scored in double figures in six straight games. During that stretch, the second-year point guard is averaging 16.2 points, 4.2 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 38.3 minutes.
Jan 20, 2022
Another steady performance
Maxey scored 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt) while adding three rebounds, two assists and a steal in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 123-110 win over the Magic.
ANALYSIS
The second-year point guard continued his recent run of solid play, scoring in double digits for the fifth straight game since rejoining the lineup after a stint in the COVID-19 protocols. Over that stretch, Maxey is averaging 15.6 points, 3.4 assists, 3.4 boards and 2.0 threes.
Jan 15, 2022
Bounces back with 23 points
Maxey chipped in 23 points (8-16 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists and one steal over 38 minutes during Friday's 111-99 win over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Maxey struggled Wednesday during his return from a four-game absence, but he bounced back Friday with his 12th 20-point outing of the season. No one has benefited more from Ben Simmons' absence than Maxey. On the season, the second-year pro is averaging 16.8 points, 4.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 34.7 minutes. He'll look to continue his strong play against the Heat on Saturday.
Jan 13, 2022
Cold in return
Maxey posted 10 points (4-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt), three rebounds and three assists across 38 minutes during Wednesday's 109-98 loss to the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Maxey struggled finding rhythm within the offense and failed to convert many of his looks around the basket. A key silver lining is that he logged 38 minutes, symbolizing Philadelphia's confidence in his health/conditioning. Greener pastures await, as Maxey will face an exploitable Celtics' backcourt in his next outing Friday, with Dennis Schroder likely starting in place of Marcus Smart (thigh).
Jan 12, 2022
Back in starting five
Maxey will start Wednesday's game against the Hornets, Gina Mizell of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Makins his return from COVID-19 protocols, Maxey will be reinserted into the starting five at point guard alongside Seth Curry, who has been cleared to play through an ankle injury. Prior to missing the last four games, Maxey posted 25 points, seven rebounds and four steals in 33 minutes in the Sixers' win over the Nets on Dec. 30.
Jan 11, 2022
Off injury report
Maxey (COVID-19 protocols) is off the injury report for Wednesday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has missed the past four games but should return to the starting five Wednesday, though he could be on a minutes limit. In December, he averaged 14.4 points, 3.4 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 32.4 minutes.
Jan 9, 2022
Still out to begin upcoming week
Maxey (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) won't be available for Monday's game in Houston, Gina Mizell of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
The second-year guard is one of two Philadelphia players in the protocols as the 76ers begin a four-game week, joining Paul Reed. Since Monday will mark a week in the protocols, Maxey shouldn't be expected to miss much more time, provided he's not experiencing overly severe symptoms of the virus.
Jan 3, 2022
Won't play Monday
Maxey was placed in the NBA's health and safety protocols and won't play Monday against the Rockets, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey and Matisse Thybulle were both ruled out Monday due to health and safety protocols. Maxey had previously entered protocols Christmas Day, but he wasn't forced to miss any time after he quickly tested out. It's unclear how much time he will miss this time around, but the Sixers signed Charlie Brown to a 10-day contract to provide roster depth, suggesting Philadelphia will likely be without Maxey and Thubulle for an extended period. In Maxey's absence, Shake Milton is expected to step into the starting lineup.
Dec 31, 2021
Refinds shooting touch
Maxey notched 25 points (10-18 FG, 5-8 3Pt), seven rebounds and four assists in 33 minutes during Thursday's 110-102 victory over Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Maxey had his best scoring performance since returning from COVID-19 protocols. He is an integral component on the 76ers' rotation, logging nearly 35 minutes per game and ranking within the leagues top-20 in total minutes played. Maxey's three-point shooting has plateaued at 36.0 percent, but he's still supplying a strong 16.5 points per game while connecting on 47.0 percent of his looks.
Dec 28, 2021
Scores season-low five points
Maxey finished with five points (2-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist across 36 minutes during Tuesday's 114-109 victory over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was freezing cold in Toronto, as he finished Tuesday's game with a season-low five points. It was his first single-digit scoring effort since Dec. 8. Maxey will presumably bounce back sooner than later. He's in the midst of an impressive sophomore campaign with averages of (before Tuesday's performance) 16.9 points, 4.6 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 34.5 minutes.
Dec 27, 2021
Scores 13 in return
Maxey chipped in 13 points (5-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and four assists over 33 minutes during Sunday's 117-96 victory over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Maxey missed two games with a quadriceps injury and was placed in the COVID-19 protocols following the win over the Hawks on Dec. 23, but he didn't miss time and was able to deliver a decent performance here -- even if he struggled with his shooting accuracy a bit. Maxey's numbers and minutes have experienced a considerable rise in 2021-22 with Ben Simmons (personal) away from the team, and he has established himself as the team's starting point guard. He's scored in double digits in six straight games as well.
Dec 26, 2021
Clears COVID-19 protocols
Maxey cleared the league's health and safety protocols and participated in shootaround ahead of Sunday's contest against the Wizards, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was listed as questionable due to COVID-19 protocols, but he appears to have avoided a lengthy absence and will be available Sunday. On the season, the 2020 first-round pick is in the midst of a breakout campaign, posting 17.0 points, 4.6 assists and 3.4 rebounds across 34.6 minutes per game.
Dec 25, 2021
Questionable due to protocols
Maxey is questionable for Sunday's game against the Wizards due to health and safety protocols.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has scored double-digit points in each of his past five appearances with averages of 18.4 points, 3.8 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals. If he sits out Sunday, more minutes would be available for Furkan Korkmaz, Isaiah Joe and Tyler Johnson.
Dec 24, 2021
Scores 17 off bench
Maxey provided 17 points (7-16 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), one rebound, three assists, one block and three steals in 34 minutes during Thursday's 98-96 loss to Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Maxey missed the previous two games with a quad injury but was cleared to return to action Thursday. Somewhat surprisingly, the Sixers opted to bring him off the bench, starting Seth Curry and Furkan Korkmaz in the backcourt with Matisse Thybulle at the three. Maxey still saw 34 minutes of action and turned in a respectable fantasy performance, headlined by the three steals. There's a good chance he'll return to the starting lineup for Sunday's game at Washington.
Dec 22, 2021
Not on injury report
Maxey (quadriceps) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Thursday's game against Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Maxey missed the last two games with a left quadriceps contusion but should be back in action for Thursday's matchup. He could see slightly increased usage against Atlanta since Shake Milton (COVID-19 protocols) remains sidelined.
Dec 20, 2021
Ruled out Monday
Maxey (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Monday's contest against the Celtics, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will miss his second straight game with a left quadriceps contusion. The Sixers are completely decimated due to injuries and COVID-19 protocols, so the likes of Isaiah Joe, Aaron Henry and recently acquired Tyler Johnson are likely to play significant minutes against the Celtics. Maxey's next chance to return comes Thursday against the Hawks.
Dec 20, 2021
Listed questionable Monday
Maxey (quad) is listed as questionable for Monday's game at Boston.
ANALYSIS
The Sixers are dealing with a mixture of injuries and COVID-related absences, which ultimately led to Sunday's game against the Pelicans being postponed. The positive news is that it gave Maxey an extra day to recover from the quad bruise that kept him out of Thursday's contest against Brooklyn. The Sixers are hoping Maxey can play through the injury Monday night, but an official update on his status likely won't come until closer to the 8:30 PM ET tip.
Dec 19, 2021
Sunday's game postponed
The NBA has decided to postpone Sunday's scheduled game against the Pelicans, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was initially questionable coming into Sunday's game with a left quad contusion and will now have an additional day to rest it up ahead of Monday's game against the Celtics. The Sixers are dealing with a mixture of injuries and COVID-19 issues, which resulted in Sunday's game being postponed. There is optimism that the Sixers will be able to resume play Monday in Boston.
Dec 18, 2021
Officially questionable
Maxey (quadriceps) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Maxey sat out Thursday against the Nets due to a bruised quad and was limited in practice Saturday. He could end up being a true game-time call. Shake Milton is in line for another start if Maxey can't take the court.
Dec 18, 2021
Limited in practice Saturday
Maxey (quadriceps) was limited in Saturday's practice and will see how he feels before Sunday's meeting against the Pelicans, Gina Mizell of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey apparently got kneed in the quad during the game against Miami earlier in the week which explains why he didn't play Friday against the Knicks. The 21-year-old will likely test out how he feels during warmups before making a decision on his availability for Sunday's contest versus the Pelicans.
Dec 16, 2021
Ruled out Thursday
Maxey won't play Thursday against Nets due to a left quad contusion,Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
With Maxey unavailable, Shake Milton will enters the Sixers' starting five. It doesn't sound like this issue should force Maxey to miss any additional time but a clearer picture should arise closer to Sunday upcoming game against the Pelicans.
Dec 16, 2021
Paces team with 27 points
Maxey produced 27 points (11-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, five assists and one block over 42 minutes during Wednesday's 101-96 loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Maxey led all scorers in Wednesday's game while also playing a game-high 42 minutes, which marked his fifth time eclipsing the 40-minute mark this season. Despite Wednesday's loss, Maxey has been a bright spot all season for the 76ers with Ben Simmons (personal) away from the team. The 21-year-old is averaging 16.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.7 assists across 34.3 minutes per game this season.
Dec 14, 2021
Scores 23 in thumping loss
Maxey provided 23 points (9-17 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven assists and one steal in 30 minutes during Monday's 126-91 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has been one of the biggest surprises for the Sixers this season, starting regularly and often providing solid scoring numbers across the board. Even though he hadn't reached the 20-point mark in quite a while -- the last time before this matchup had been Nov. 22 against the Kings -- it's worth noting he has scored 20 or more points nine times already. That, along with the starting role, explains why he's averaging a career-high 16.7 points per game.
Dec 9, 2021
Checks back in
Maxey (head) has checked back into Thursday's game against the Jazz, Justin Grasso of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey made a brief trip to the locker room after hitting his head hard on the floor but was able to return to the game just a few minutes before halftime. He should be good to go for the remainder of the night.
Dec 9, 2021
Heads back to locker room
Maxey went back to the locker room after hitting the deck hard following a drive to the basket in the second quarter of Thursday's game against the Jazz, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey appeared to smack his head on the floor after making a driving layup over Hassan Whiteside. He was able to walk off the floor under his own power and even had a smile on his face as he made his way back to the locker room. The 21-year-old is likely going to be tested for a concussion as his return to Thursday's action is questionable.
Dec 8, 2021
Officialy active
Maxey (illness) will play Wednesday against the Hornets, Derek Bodner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The second-year pro missed the 76ers' last contest due to a non-COVID illness but will be back in action Wednesday night. Maxey is averaging just 10.3 points to go with 6.0 assists and 5.3 steals over his last four showings. The Kentucky product will look to get back on track against the Hornets.
Dec 8, 2021
Plans to play Wednesday
Maxey (illness) participated in shootaround and plans to play in Wednesday's contest against the Hornets, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Maxey is officially listed as questionable.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was a late addition to the injury report ahead of Monday's contest against the Hornets and was ultimately ruled out. However, it appears he will be available for the rematch. The second-year guard is in the midst of a breakout campaign (17.2 points, 4.9 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game), so his presence would be a huge boost for the Sixers. With that said, fantasy managers should still monitor Maxey's status all the way up until Wednesday's 7:00 PM ET tip.
Dec 7, 2021
Questionable for Wednesday
Maxey (non-COVID illness) is questionable for Wednesday's contest against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was a late addition to the injury report ahead of Monday's contest against the Hornets and was ultimately unable to play. The second-year guard is in the midst of a breakout campaign (17.2 points, 4.9 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game), so his absence would be a big blow for the Sixers. Fantasy managers will likely need to monitor Maxey's status all the way up until Wednesday's 7:00 PM ET tip.
Dec 6, 2021
Out with non-COVID illness
Maxey will not play Monday against the Hornets due to a non-COVID illness, Rich Hofmann of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey was not on the initial injury report, but he's apparently come down with an illness in the hours leading up to the 7:00 PM ET tip. Shake Milton is the likely replacement at point guard for the Sixers, while Furkan Korkmaz and Isaiah Joe could also pick up a few extra minutes. Maxey should be considered day-to-day as the Sixers look ahead to a Wednesday-Thursday back-to-back set that includes games at Charlotte and versus Utah.
Nov 29, 2021
Nears triple-double in win
Maxey posted nine points (2-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine assists, eight rebounds and a block across 32 minutes during a 101-96 win over the Magic on Monday night.
ANALYSIS
Maxey's double-digit scoring streak was snapped at 16 games, but Monday marked the fourth game in a row Maxey has failed to shoot 40 percent from the field. Luckily for shareholders, he has averaged a healthy 6.8 assists over that stretch. The 21-year-old is averaging 35.7 minutes per game.
Nov 28, 2021
Leads team with nine assists
Maxey totaled 15 points (5-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), nine assists, four rebounds and one block over 43 minutes during Saturday's 121-120 2OT loss to Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Maxey struggled from the floor once again, posting an identical 5-for-15 shooting night in back-to-back games. However, he was able to dish out nine assists, which tied his season high. Despite the recent shooting struggles, the 2020 first-round pick continues to be a bright spot filling in for Ben Simmons (personal). On the season, Maxey is averaging 18.7 points, 4.6 assists and 3.5 rebounds across 18.7 minutes per game.
Nov 25, 2021
Struggles from field in loss
Maxey produced 19 points (5-15 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 9-10 FT), three rebounds, five assists and one block over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 116-96 loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Maxey endured one of his poorest shooting efforts of the campaign, and he finished short of 20 points for just the second time in his past eight games. However, the second-year guard was still able to produce a respectable scoring total thanks to a 9-for-10 performance from the charity stripe. Maxey has failed to reach double-digit scoring only once this season, emerging as a key offensive cog on a Philadelphia team that has had to navigate around Ben Simmons' (personal) absence and injuries to key players throughout the start of the season.
Nov 23, 2021
Posts another big scoring effort
Maxey closed with 24 points (8-22 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 8-8 FT), one rebound, four assists and two steals over 35 minutes during Monday's 102-94 victory over Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
In the absence of Joel Embiid (COVID-19) and Tobias Harris (hip), Maxey stepped in to lead the Sixers with 24 points. That's not to say that Maxey's scoring is dependent on the absence of his higher-profile teammates -- in fact, the second-year guard has scored 20-plus points in all but one of his past seven contests. Though it's anyone's guess about how the Ben Simmons (personal) situation will play out, Maxey has taken full advantage of his opportunity, posting per-game averages of 18.7 points, 4.6 dimes, 3.6 boards and 1.3 three-pointers on the campaign.
Nov 21, 2021
Explosive again in loss
Maxey racked up 28 points (9-17 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 9-9 FT), three rebounds, nine assists and two steals over 35 minutes during Saturday's 118-111 loss to the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Though Philadelphia fell to Damian Lillard (39 points) and the Blazers, Maxey once again impressed as the squad's starting point guard. The 21-year-old tied for the team lead with 28 points and paced the club with nine dimes. Over his past five contests, Maxey has excelled with per-game averages of 25.7 points, 4.5 assists, 3.8 boards and 2.2 three-pointers while shooting 56.7 percent from the field.
Nov 19, 2021
Paces Philadelphia in win
Maxey amassed 22 points (9-15 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), five rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 35 minutes during Thursday's 103-89 win over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
With Joel Embiid (COVID-19) missing his sixth straight game, Maxey continued to shine as one of the team's primary offensive options. The 6-foot-2 guard led the Sixers in scoring in the contest and also chipped in as a rebounder and distributor. Maxey's second-season breakout continues to gain momentum -- he has scored 20-plus points in four of his past five contests, exceeding the 30-point mark twice in that span.
Nov 17, 2021
Scores 16 in loss
Maxey closed Tuesday's 120-85 loss to the Jazz with 16 points (7-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt), four rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Maxey snapped a streak of three games with at least 20 points, but he's now scored at least 15 points in five contests in a row. The promising guard is enjoying the extended role he's had this year due to the absence of Ben Simmons (personal) and has established himself as a reliable fantasy asset for Philadelphia. He's averaging 17.5 points, 4.4 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 15 appearances this season.
Nov 14, 2021
Puts up 24 in loss
Maxey closed Saturday's 118-113 loss to the Pacers with 24 points (10-15 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds and three assists over 43 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The Sixers might have lost in this one, but Maxey had another impressive performance while continuing as a bonafide scoring threat. The 2020 first-round pick carried the Sixers offensively while most of their star players were sidelined, and even though Tobias Harris will be the team's go-to player on offense until further notice, Maxey still has plenty of value given what he's done over the last few games. He has scored at least 20 points in three straight games, and he has surpassed the 15-point mark in five of his last six.
Nov 12, 2021
Leads all scorers in loss
Maxey compiled 33 points (12-19 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 8-8 FT), five assists, four rebounds, two blocks and one steal in 40 minutes during Thursday's 115-109 loss to Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Maxey's time is now and we are witnessing what has been a fun breakout. With the Ben Simmons saga continuing to roll on, Maxey has firmly established himself as the starting point guard, taking his game to another level. Obviously, he won't be this good every night but the sample size is large enough that we can safely assume he is here to stay when it comes to 12-team fantasy status.
Nov 10, 2021
Fuels offense
Maxey poured in 31 points (12-24 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block across 39 minutes in a 118-109 loss to the Bucks on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Maxey broke out offensively, exceeding 20 points for the first time this campaign. The 21-year-old has been tasked with a big role in his second season and is performing admirably. He is likely worth a spot on your bench should he remain available. Maxey has been a top-10 asset at the point guard position.
Nov 9, 2021
Embraces expanded role
Maxey had 16 points (6-19 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block in a 103-96 loss to the Knicks on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Maxey played 39 minutes and continues to be a workhorse for Coach Doc Rivers. In the absence of Joel Embiid (COVID-19 protocols), Maxey attempted a season-high 19 shots. His rest-of-season outlook is murky, but with so many missing pieces and uncertainty in Philadelphia, Maxey can be streamed with confidence in the short term, as well as rostered in deeper leagues.
Nov 7, 2021
Comes close to double-double
Maxey notched 10 points (5-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt), eight assists, three rebounds, a steal and a block across 44 minutes in Saturday's win over Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Maxey extended his streak of games with double-digit points to six contests, but he hasn't reached the 15-point mark in three of his last four. Either way, the former Kentucky standout has embraced the bigger role he's handled in the first weeks of the season and has scored in double digits in all but one of his 10 appearances while scoring 14.2 points across 34.7 minutes per tilt.
Nov 5, 2021
Integral part of win
Maxey finished with 20 points (8-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists, four rebounds and two steals over a whopping 45 minutes on Thursday in a 109-98 win over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
The 76ers leaned on an eight man rotation while lacking Danny Green (hamstring) and Furkan Korkmaz (wrist). Maxey played nearly all 48 minutes, symbolizing a lot of trust from 76ers brass and setting up a desirable fantasy situation. Anytime Philadelphia is shorthanded, Maxey is a top streaming candidate. He is a fringe roster candidate in standard leagues.
Oct 29, 2021
2022-23 option picked up
Maxey had his 2022-23 option picked up by the team Friday, Derek Bodner of The Athletic report.
ANALYSIS
The second-year guard has done a solid job filling in for Ben Simmons to start the season and Philadelphia has picked up his option for next season. The move ensures that Maxey will be with the 76ers organization next year. The Kentucky product is averaging 14.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 33.0 minutes per game through his first five appearances of the year.
Oct 29, 2021
Pours in 16 points Thursday
Maxey had 16 points (6-8 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, six assists and two blocks in 31 minutes during Thursday's 110-102 win over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Maxey had his best and most complete game since the season-opener and was even able to record his first multi-block game of the year. The Sixers were able to return Shake Milton to the floor Thursday after he missed the first four games with a sprained left ankle. Having Milton back will likely cut into Maxey's usage as the team brings him back up to speed. It's unclear if the team plans to eventually swap the two in the starting lineup. Regardless, Maxey is due for nice progression in year two whether it's as a starter or a reserve.
Oct 25, 2021
Scores 14 points in Sunday's win
Maxey totaled 14 points (4-13 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one block in 34 minutes during Sunday's 115-103 victory over Oklahoma City.
ANALYSIS
Maxey appears to have secured himself the starting point guard position, at least until we get some clarity on the Ben Simmons situation. The playing time has been consistent thus far, although he is yet to fully embrace his new role. Those in standard leagues should view him as a fringe asset who could build on what has been a serviceable start to the season.
Oct 19, 2021
Likely to start Opening Night
Maxey appears to be in line to start at point guard Wednesday night against New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
With Shake Milton (ankle) already ruled out and Ben Simmons suspended one game for conduct detrimental to the team, Maxey should have a clear path to opening the year as Philadelphia's starting point guard. At the start of camp, it looked like Maxey may be able to hold that role long-term, but he was eventually usurped by Milton, and the unexpected return of Simmons throws another wrench into the situation. As unlikely as it once seemed, Simmons could return to his starting gig once he serves the suspension and is back up to speed. His debut could come as early as Friday against Brooklyn.
Oct 14, 2021
Slated to play Friday
Maxey (hip) will play in Friday's preseason game against the Pistons, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey didn't suit up Monday due to left adductor tightness. However, he'll have the chance to make his case to serve as the starting point guard since Shake Milton (ankle) will be held out in Friday's preseason finale.
Oct 7, 2021
Not starting Thursday
Maxey isn't starting Thursday's preseason game against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Maxey started Monday's preseason opener and totaled 10 points, three assists, one rebound and one assist in 21 minutes. However, Shake Milton will draw the start Thursday as the two players compete to serve as the starting point guard to begin the regular season.
Sep 28, 2021
Working with starters
Maxey worked with the Sixers' starters at Tuesday's practice, DeAntae Prince of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
It's no secret that the Sixers are high on the 2020 first-round pick, who appeared in 61 games and averaged 8.0 points and 2.0 assists as a rookie last season. But with Ben Simmons away from the team and almost certainly on his way out of Philadelphia, Maxey looks to be first in line to replace the three-time All-Star as the Sixers' starting point guard. Maxey, who recently denied a report that he requested out of Philly, will likely compete with Shake Milton for the starting job throughout training camp, but at this stage it appears the Kentucky product has the early advantage. Regardless of how it plays out, Maxey should be set for a significantly increased role in Year 2.

Will play in Summer League
Maxey will play in Summer League for the 76ers, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey had a solid rookie season, with the guard averaging 8.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.7 rebounds in 15.3 minutes. He should be one of the more productive players in Summer League.

Scores 15 points in Game 4
Maxey delivered 15 points (6-12 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two assists, a rebound, a steal and a block across 22 minutes off the bench in Monday's Game 4 loss at the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has been inconsistent so far in the series but reached the 15-point plateau for the first time Monday -- it was also the first time he was able to play more than 20 minutes. Maxey might be in line for a bigger role off the bench if the Sixers end up missing Joel Embiid (knee) for Game 5 on Wednesday.

Explodes for 30 points
Maxey turned in 30 points (11-19 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven rebounds, six assts, a steal and a blocked shot across 35 minutes in Sunday's 128-117 win over the Magic.
ANALYSIS
The Sixers sat all of their starters, but it didn't matter much against the injury-riddled Magic. Although it was a meaningless game for the top seed in the East, Maxey delivered a reminder of why he was Philly's first-round pick this season. It will be exciting to see how Maxey performs after a full season and some playoff experience. Assuming Ben Simmons remains with the squad, a one-two punch of Maxey and Simmons in the backcourt could make for a dominating duo moving forward.

Starting season finale
Maxey will start Sunday's game against the Magic, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
With a number of regulars sitting, the rookie will be in the lineup alongside George Hill, Furkan Korkmaz, Dwight Howard and Shake Milton.

Drops 11 points off bench
Maxey collected 11 points (4-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three assists, two rebounds, two blocks and one steal in a 103-94 loss to the Pacers on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
After getting a spot start for Ben Simmons, who missed just one game due to a sore back, Maxey returned to his bench role and had a solid two-way performance. The guard needed just 16 minutes to score in double figures for the third consecutive contest. Over that stretch, Maxey has averaged 15.0 points, 4.7 assists, 3.7 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game.
May 8, 2021
Excels with 22 points in relief
Maxey registered 22 points (7-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds, four assists, two steals and a blocked shot cross 35 minutes in Saturday's 118-104 win over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
The rookie out of Kentucky drew the start for Ben Simmons (back) and turned in a very effective game. Maxey would probably be a Rookie of the Year candidate on another team, but he's spent his first season amidst Philly's crowded backcourt depth chart. The first-round pick will only see worthwhile fantasy value if a major backcourt injury occurs.
May 8, 2021
Starting with Simmons out
Maxey will start at point guard Saturday against the Pistons, Marc Narducci of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Saturday will mark Maxey's first start since Jan. 20, as Ben Simmons (back) has been ruled out. In Maxey's six prior starts, he's averaged 16.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 30.5 minutes.
May 6, 2021
Solid offensive performance
Maxey totaled 12 points (4-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven assists and four rebounds in a 135-115 victory over the Rockets on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Maxey scored in double figures for the seventh time in his last nine contests and was also effective as a distributor. The guard played 22 minutes, including the entire fourth, with Philadelphia having a sizable lead entering the final period. Maxey has had an inconsistent role in the rotation, but he's averaged 9.3 points and 2.5 assists across his last 10 games.
Apr 23, 2021
Scores 11 points off bench
Maxey had 11 points (4-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five assists and a steal across 19 minutes off the bench in Thursday's loss at Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Maxey has scored in double digits in each of his last three appearances off the bench, though he was held to single-digit figures in six straight games before this run. While he's shown the ability to put up points in bunches when given enough minutes, Maxey is not playing -- or producing -- enough to be a factor in most formats. He's averaging 6.6 points across 14.2 minutes per game during the current month.
Apr 21, 2021
Plays 31 minutes off bench
Maxey played 31 minutes off the bench and contributed 14 points (5-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block during Wednesday's 116-113 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Despite coming off the bench, Maxey saw nearly as much playing time as every starter while out scoring three of them. He's posted consecutive double-digit performances for the first time since doing so in six straight outings from Jan. 9 - 16. Given that Maxey was only seeing an average of 11.0 minutes of playing time in April prior to Wednesday's game, it could be that his 31 minutes was a fluke.
Apr 10, 2021
Outside of rotation
Maxey played the final 31 seconds of Friday's 101-94 loss to the Pelicans, recording two points (1-1 FG) and no other statistics.
ANALYSIS
Since sitting out the 76ers' April 4 loss to the Grizzlies due to the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols, Maxey has been available for the team's subsequent two contests. He's found himself outside of the rotation in both games, not checking into either contest until the final minute. The rookie first-round pick looks to be the 76ers' fifth guard behind Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Shake Milton and Furkan Korkmaz.
Apr 6, 2021
Available Tuesday
Maxey (COVID-19 protocols) will play Tuesday against the Celtics, Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
An inconclusive COVID-19 test landed Maxey in the health and safety protocols for the last two games, but he will be available to return Tuesday. Maxey had seen 12.3 minutes per game in his last seven games before being sidelined.
Apr 5, 2021
Travels with team, probable Tuesday
Maxey (COVID-19 protocols) was cleared to travel with the team and is probable for Tuesday's game at Boston, Kyle Neubeck of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old landed in the health and safety protocols Sunday due to an inconclusive COVID-19 test, but he's since tested negative twice and should be available Tuesday. Maxey should reclaim his minor role off the bench once fully cleared to retake the court.
Apr 4, 2021
Enters health and safety protocols
Maxey (COVID-19 protocols) will not play in Sunday's game against the Grizzlies, Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philly reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear if the rookie guard actually tested positive for the virus, but he'll likely be set for a multi-game absence while passing through the league's protocols. Maxey typically holds down a small role off the bench, but his absence shouldn't carry any significant fantasy ramifications.
Mar 1, 2021
Logs 17 minutes
Maxey scored four points (2-3 FG, 0-1 3PT) and registered five assists, two rebounds and one block in 17 minutes Monday against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Maxey had played just 13 total minutes over his last two contests heading into Monday's clash, but he was handed an opportunity against the Pacers and showed that he can distribute the basketball. While he'll need to begin receiving consistent minutes to become more of a factor in fantasy leagues, there's no denying that the Kentucky product can contribute across multiple categories.
Feb 16, 2021
Takes eight shots in 13 minutes
Maxey finished with six points (3-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt) in Monday night's loss to Utah.
ANALYSIS
The rookie had a nice run of fantasy success in mid-January amid COVID-19 absences, but with the Sixers back to full strength, he's been relegated to a more-limited role off the bench. Maxey has just two double-digit scoring games over his last 10, and he's hit only three of his last 16 attempts from beyond the arc.
Jan 25, 2021
Drops 17 points against Pistons
Maxey scored 17 points (6-12 FG, 2-3 3PT, 3-3 FT) to go along with two rebounds, two assists and three steals across 21 minutes in Monday's loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Both Ben Simmons and Shake Milton ran into foul trouble, opening a path to minutes for Maxey. After seeing only six and 13 minutes respectively in his last two games due to Seth Curry's return, Maxey once again flashed his scoring potential with an increased role. When the Sixers are fully healthy, Maxey isn't likely to see big minutes. However, when given the opportunity, he's shown plenty of ability as a playmaker and is worth monitoring as a result.
Jan 23, 2021
Minutes on decline
Maxey played six minutes Friday in the 76ers' 122-110 win over the Celtics, contributing two points (1-1 FG) and three rebounds.
ANALYSIS
With Seth Curry (conditioning, COVID-19) returning from a seven-game absence, Maxey moved back to the bench following a run of six straight starts. Maxey's playing time had already been declining steadily with the 76ers having returned several missing rotation players to the lineup in recent games, but the fact that the rookie received just six minutes -- his fewest in any game this season -- was startling. Furkan Korkmaz (17 minutes) wasn't particularly effective during his time on the court and cede some of his playing time to Maxey in future contests, but the first-round pick out of Kentucky won't be in store for nearly enough minutes in the near future to justify being held in standard leagues.
Jan 21, 2021
Goes scoreless in start
Maxey was held without a point (0-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and contributed two points and two rebounds in 21 minutes Wednesday in the 76ers' 117-109 win over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Maxey picked up his sixth consecutive start Wednesday, but his window of fantasy relevance in 12-team leagues has seemingly come to an end now that the 76ers have gotten several rotation players back. from the NBA's health and safety protocols. The rookie has now seen his playing time decline for three games in a row, and he could have his minutes squeezed even more once Seth Curry (conditioning) is cleared to play.
Jan 14, 2021
Remains in starting five
Maxey will start Thursday's game against the Heat.
ANALYSIS
The Sixers are still without Seth Curry (COVID-19), but they do get several regulars back for Thursday's game, including Shake Milton, Matisse Thybulle and Tobias Harris. Doc Rivers will stick with Maxey over Milton at shooting guard, meaning the rookie will be in the starting five for the fourth straight game. He's coming off of a 16-point, eight-assist performance against Miami on Tuesday.
Jan 13, 2021
Nears double-double in OT win
Maxey posted 16 points (7-18 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-3 FT), eight assists, three rebounds and one steal in 36 minutes Tuesday in the 76ers' 137-134 overtime victory over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Though he remained in the lineup for the third straight game, Maxey saw his usage dip from 30.7 and 24 percent in the previous two contests to 22.7 percent Tuesday while Ben Simmons (knee) checked back into the lineup after a two-game absence. Simmons battled foul trouble throughout the game, and the 76ers still only had nine players available for the contest, so Maxey was able to see enough playing time to produce another solid stat line. Expect Maxey to see another drop in usage and a more significant decline in playing time in Thursday's rematch with Miami, as the 76ers are expected to return Tobias Harris, Shake Milton and Matisse Thybulle from the NBA's health and safety protocol.
Jan 11, 2021
Solid performance in second start
Maxey went for 15 points (7-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, four assists and two blocks over 31 minutes during Monday's 112-94 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
While it wasn't a 39-point performance, Maxey still produced and respectable stat line in Monday's loss. With the 76ers shorthanded over their last two games, Maxey's production has increased drastically, averaging 27 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5 assists over 37.5 minutes per game.
Jan 9, 2021
Explodes in first start of season
Maxey recorded 39 points (18-33 FG, 3-8 3PT), seven rebounds, six assists and two steals in 44 minutes in the 115-103 loss to Denver on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Maxey exploded onto the scene as the best shooter for Philly in the loss Saturday. The Kentucky product has been receiving some increased time lately and was given his first start after multiple players had to sit out due to injury or COVID protocol. Maxey surely did not disappoint and not only did he have the hot hand, but he also held his own in the paint. With this performance, it would not be a surprise if the rookie is given a bigger role as the season continues.
Jan 9, 2021
Starting Saturday
Maxey will start Saturday's game against the Nuggets, Derek Bodner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey will get the nod with a myriad of Sixers players sidelined due to injury and COVID-19 protocols. In the four games this season that he's seen at least 20 minutes, he's averaging 10.8 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals.
Jan 7, 2021
Scores season-high 16 points
Maxey scored 16 points (7-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt) to go with three rebounds, two assists one steal and one block across 20 minutes in a 122-109 loss to Brooklyn on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Maxey attempted and made his most field goals of the season with Seth Curry missing the game due to ankle soreness. The rookie has averaged 5.8 points per game this season, a total that increases to 9.0 points per game in contests in which Maxey eclipses 20 minutes played. The first-round pick has also averaged 1.0 steals per game in his 21.3 minutes per game.
Dec 22, 2020
Expected to be in rotation
Coach Doc Rivers said Tuesday that Maxey will be a part of the Sixers' rotation to begin the season, Rich Hofmann of The Athletic reports. "He has shown himself well," Rivers said. "He will get minutes."
ANALYSIS
The rookie out of Kentucky apparently made a positive impression during training camp, and it looks like he'll work his way into the rotation -- likely as the Sixers' fifth guard behind Ben Simmons, Shake Milton, Seth Curry and Danny Green. Size-wise, Maxey profiles as more of a point guard, but he brings excellent energy on the defensive end, so he could be tasked with guarding opposing shooting guards, as well.
Dec 10, 2020
Practices Thursday
Maxey (illness) practiced Thursday, Justin Grasso of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Maxey, after testing positive for COVID-19, had to go through league protocols. He's cleared those, and he's now able to practice with the 76ers.
Dec 6, 2020
Tests positive for COVID-19
Maxey tested positive for COVID-19 and has yet to participate in training camp, Derek Bodner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The rookie 21st overall pick likely tested positive when players reported for camp last week, and he's expected to clear the league's protocols in the coming days. Maxey is expected to work as Philadelphia's No. 3 point guard behind Ben Simmons and Shake Milton once healthy.
