Reverts to practice squad
The Bears reverted Brown to their practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
Brown got his first elevation of the season for this past Sunday's win over Cincinnati and finished with five carries for 37 yards and his first career NFL touchdown while logging 14 of 80 offensive snaps. He also returned one kick for 23 yards. His opportunity came as a result of both D'Andre Swift (groin) and Roschon Johnson (back) being unable to suit up for the contest. If both of those players are inactive in Week 10 against the Giants, Brown will likely be elevated again.

Scores first career touchdown
Brown rushed five times for 37 yards and one touchdown and was targeted once without a reception in the Bears' 47-42 win over the Bengals on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Elevated from the practice squad due to injuries to D'Andre Swift (groin) and Roschon Johnson (back), Brown logged his first NFL touches. Despite the solid effort, he's expected to revert to the practice squad once the backfield is healthy.

Joins active roster
The Bears elevated Brown to their active roster Saturday.
ANALYSIS
The UCLA product's elevation provides the Bears with much-needed depth at running back, as D'Andre Swift (groin) and Roschon Johnson (back) are both dealing with injuries. Expect Brown to play a depth role in Chicago's backfield while also contributing on special teams in the Week 9 matchup against the Bengals.

Heads to practice squad
Brown signed to the Bears' practice squad Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The running back got waived Tuesday after spending about two weeks in Chicago's training camp. Brown, a seventh-round pick of the Raiders in 2022, last saw regular-season action that same year, though he didn't play on any offensive snaps.

Hits waivers Tuesday
The Bears waived Brown on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Brown spent roughly the last two weeks with Chicago, providing the team depth during the preseason and training camp, but he never seemed to have a real shot at making the 53-man roster. The last time Brown suited up for regular-season action was as a rookie with the Raiders in 2022, when he appeared in six games and handled 61 total snaps on special teams.

Headed to Windy City
The Bears signed Brown to a contract Monday.
ANALYSIS
The move corresponds with Chicago waiving Ameer Speed (undisclosed) with an injury designation. Brown spent most of the 2024 season on the Seahawks' practice squad and hasn't seen regular-season action since 2022 with the Raiders, when he played 61 snaps on special teams across six games. He'll have an opportunity to see snaps out of the backfield during practices and preseason games due to injuries to Roschon Johnson (foot), Travis Homer (calf) and Deion Hankins (concussion).

Back with Seattle
The Seahawks signed Brown to their practice squad Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The 24-year-old running back was dropped from the Seahawks' practice squad in late November, but it now appears the team has had a change of heart. Brown most recently appeared in a regular-season NFL game with the Raiders in 2022, playing 61 special-teams snaps and failing to record a stat.

Let go by Seattle
The Seahawks cut Brown from the practice squad Tuesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After failing to make the Raiders' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, Brown signed with the Seahawks' practice squad Sept. 18. The 2022 seventh-rounder has not been elevated to the active roster this season, and he'll now look to catch on with a team in need of running back depth.

Headed to Seattle
The Seahawks signed Brown to their practice squad Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown failed to make the Raiders' initial 53-man roster in late August, but he's found a new home in Seattle. The UCLA product missed the entire 2023 season due to an undisclosed injury, but he did appear in six regular-season games with the Raiders in 2022, playing exclusively on special teams.

Parts ways with Raiders
Brown was waived by Las Vegas on Tuesday, per the team's official site.
ANALYSIS
Brown spent all of last season on IR but was healthy during training camp this year and logged seven carries for 25 yards during the exhibition late, adding three catches on six targets for 43 yards. The UCLA product was selected by the Raiders in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft and played in six regular-season games as a rookie, with all 61 of his snaps coming on special teams.

Healthy for offseason programs
Brown participated in the Raiders' OTAs in late April.
ANALYSIS
Brown played in six games as a rookie in 2022, serving exclusively on special teams. His 2023 campaign ended abruptly after he was placed on injured reserve with an undisclosed issue at the close of training camp, but he'll seemingly enter the new campaign without any lingering issues.

Lands on IR
The Raiders placed Brown (undisclosed) on injured reserve Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2022 seventh-round pick out of UCLA played in six games for the Raiders last season with all of his snaps coming on special teams. He didn't play during the preseason and is set to miss the 2023 season.

Sidelined Sunday
Brown (coach's decision) was ruled inactive ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear why Brown was listed inactive by Las Vegas' coaching staff as he was not dealing with any known injuries during practice this week. Nevertheless, the rookie seventh-round pick was not expected to play a significant role against the Chargers given the Raiders' loaded corps of running backs, including Josh Jacobs, Zamir White, Brandon Bolden and Ameer Abdullah.
Apr 30, 2022
Scooped by Las Vegas
The Raiders selected Brown in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 250th overall.
ANALYSIS
Brown becomes the second running back selected by the Raiders less than 24 hours after declining Josh Jacobs' fifth-year option, joining Zamir White. After starting out at Duke, Brown transferred to UCLA, where he appeared in 17 games over two seasons. He was largely overtaken by Zach Charbonnet in 2021 but Brown still produced 615 yards and seven touchdowns at a 6.0 YPC clip. Brown wasn't heavily used as a pass catcher but was efficient when targeted, snaring 18 of 19 targets for 129 yards in 2021. He ran a 4.66 in the 40-yard dash at his pro day, so athleticism is below baseline for an NFL running back and it will be an uphill battle for him to crack the roster despite being drafted.
