Catches three passes in win
Knox caught three of four targets for 28 yards in the Bills' 26-7 win over the Steelers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
With Dalton Kincaid (hamstring) still idle for Week 13, Knox drew four targets to Jackson Hawes' one. Knox's three catches tied James Cook and Ty Johnson for the team lead against Pittsburgh. Through 12 games this season, Knox has a 19-223-1 receiving line on 29 targets. He carries minimal fantasy appeal but could be a plug-and-play option next Sunday against the Bengals' league-worst defense against tight ends if Kincaid misses another contest.
Nov 17, 2025
Catches one pass in Week 11 win
Knox caught one of three targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 44-32 win over Tampa Bay.
ANALYSIS
With Dalton Kincaid (hamstring) sidelined, Knox logged 77 percent of the offensive snaps, while Jackson Hawes played 34 percent of the downs. It still didn't result in any meaningful bump in usage for Knox, who has failed to reach 40 receiving yards in any game this season. He won't be a recommended fantasy target outside of single-game fantasy slates Thursday night against the Texans. Kincaid has been labeled as week-to-week with his injury.
Nov 14, 2025
Chance to step up with Kincaid out
Knox could take on a larger role Sunday against the Buccaneers, as Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports that Dalton Kincaid (hamstring) has been ruled out.
ANALYSIS
Knox typically cedes the majority of pass-catching opportunities to Kincaid, but Kincaid's absence creates an opportunity for Knox and rookie firth-round pick Jackson Hawes to step up. In Kincaid's only previous absence of the season, Week 6 against the Falcons, Knox was targeted twice and scored a 19-yard touchdown on his only catch.
Nov 9, 2025
Three catches in Week 10 loss
Knox secured three of four targets for 37 yards in the Bills' 30-13 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Knox saw a slightly larger role than usual, partly due to Dalton Kincaid exiting early because of a hamstring issue. Both Knox's reception and receiving yardage totals were season highs, and the veteran could be in for another relatively busy day if Kincaid is sidelined for a Week 11 home matchup against the Buccaneers.
Nov 3, 2025
Catches one pass vs. Chiefs
Knox caught his only target for 30 yards in Sunday's 28-21 win over the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
The veteran tight end remained a minor part of the Bills' offensive game plan for the fourth consecutive game, totaling just five receptions for 79 yards and a touchdowns during that span. Expect Knox to continue operating as Buffalo's top backup tight end, contributing more as a blocker than a receiver heading into the Week 10 matchup against the Dolphins.
Oct 27, 2025
Hauls in lone target
Knox caught his only target for 15 yards during Sunday's 40-9 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Knox has been more involved in the Bills' offensive game plan over the past three games, catching three of five targets for 49 yards and a score. He logged his second-lowest snap count of the season (25 offensive snaps) in Sunday's win, but that's largely due to the second-half blowout. Knox is expected to continue operating as Buffalo's No. 2 tight end heading into the Week 9 matchup against the Chiefs.
Oct 14, 2025
Scores TD on one catch
Knox brought in his only target for a 19-yard touchdown in the Bills' 24-14 loss to the Falcons on Monday night.
ANALYSIS
The veteran tight end rose to the top of the depth chart Monday night due to Dalton Kincaid (oblique) being inactive, but Knox ultimately garnered a minimal amount of Josh Allen's attention. Nevertheless, Knox made good on his one opportunity, getting into the end zone with 8:01 remaining in the first quarter to erase an early 7-0 deficit. The score was Knox's first since Week 6 of last season, but his run as the No. 1 option at the position may be limited to just Monday's game since Kincaid figures to have a good chance of getting healthy over Buffalo's Week 7 bye.
Oct 13, 2025
Added snaps likely Monday
Knox figures to see added opportunities Monday night against the Falcons, with fellow TE Dalton Kincaid (oblique) inactive for the contest.
ANALYSIS
With Kincaid, who leads the Bills with 287 receiving yards through five games, unavailable, Knox -- who has logged a 6/54/0 receiving line in that span -- represents a late plug-in option for fantasy managers who would normally rely on Kincaid. Jackson Hawes (who has four catches for 54 yards and a TD thus far) is Buffalo's other active tight end Monday.
Oct 6, 2025
Catches two passes vs. Patriots
Knox caught both of his targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Knox hadn't caught a pass since the Bills' Week 2 win over the Jets prior to Sunday night's loss. The veteran tight end from Ole Miss has primarily served as a blocker this season, catching six of 10 targets for 54 yards across Buffalo's first five games. He's expected to continue operating behind Dalton Kincaid in the Bills' Week 6 matchup against the Falcons.
Sep 29, 2025
No catches again Sunday
Knox failed to catch his only target in Sunday's 31-19 win over the Saints.
ANALYSIS
This is the second consecutive game in which Knox has failed to record a reception, despite logging 55 offensive snaps during that span. The Ole Miss product appears firmly behind Dalton Kincaid in Buffalo's tight end room, as Kincaid has caught six of eight targets for 96 yards and two touchdowns over the last two weeks. Knox is likely to have a similar role in the Bills' Week 5 contest against the Patriots, serving primarily as a blocker rather than a receiving option.
Sep 19, 2025
Blanks in Week 3
Knox wasn't targeted during Thursday night's 31-21 win over the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
After catching four of his seven targets for 39 yards over Buffalo's first two games this season, Knox wasn't involved in the offensive gameplan in Week 3. His counterpart, Dalton Kincaid, was the Bills' most effective receiver Thursday, catching five of his six targets for 66 yards and one touchdown. Knox appears firmly behind Kincaid as the top receiving option in Buffalo's tight end corps, but he'll likely be more involved in a Week 4 matchup against the Saints.
Sep 17, 2025
Two grabs in Week 2
Knox caught two of five targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 30-10 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Knox's five targets Sunday were second only to fellow tight end Dalton Kincaid, who saw six targets from quarterback Josh Allen. The 28-year-old Knox did play more offensive snaps, however, finishing with 41 snaps while Kincaid played 36 snaps. Despite the increased target share, Knox should not be considered for fantasy purposes as long as Kincaid is healthy. The Bills are set to host the Dolphins in Week 3.
Sep 12, 2025
Clear for Week 2
Knox (hip) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game at the Jets.
ANALYSIS
The Bills limited Knox's activity level at Wednesday's practice and Thursday's walkthrough due to a hip injury, but a return to all activity Friday sets him up to be available for a Week 2 AFC East matchup. Knox earned a 57 percent snap share during this past Sunday's win against the Ravens on his way to a 2-20-0 line on two targets, while fellow TE Dalton Kincaid played 50 percent of the offensive snaps and hauled in all four of his targets for 48 yards and one touchdown.
Sep 11, 2025
Listed as limited again
Knox (hip) is listed as limited on Thursday's injury report.
ANALYSIS
The Bills only hosted a walk-thru practice Thursday, but Knox is being listed as limited for a second consecutive session. If he's unable to upgrade to full participation Friday, Knox will likely carry an injury designation into Sunday's matchup against the Jets.
Sep 10, 2025
Limited in practice Wednesday
Knox (hip) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Knox played 57 percent of offensive snaps during Buffalo's 41-40 win over the Ravens in Week 1, securing both of his targets for 20 yards. He ran just 17 routes, though, while starting tight end Dalton Kincaid ran 28 routes and brought in all of his targets for a 4-48-1 receiving line. Knox will figure to handle a similar complementary role behind Kincaid if he's able to gain clearance in time for Sunday's road matchup against the Jets.
Sep 10, 2025
Two catches against Ravens
Knox caught both of his targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 41-40 win over the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Knox led all Bills tight ends in offensive snaps, but, as expected, it was teammate Dalton Kincaid who played a bigger role in Buffalo's passing attack. Knox wasn't able to get much going, while Kincaid caught all four of his targets for 48 yards and a touchdown. Going forward, the veteran should expect similar usage, capping Knox's overall fantasy value. The 28-year-old should be ignored for fantasy purposes heading into a Week 2 matchup against the Jets.
Jul 31, 2025
Returns to practice
Knox (hamstring) returned to practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
After missing the start of training camp, this marks the first practice for Knox since coming off the active/non-football injury list , per Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News. The 28-year-old, who logged 22 catches for 311 yards and a touchdown in 16 regular-season games in 2024, is thus slated to reprise his role in a Buffalo passing offense that also features fellow TE Dalton Kincaid, who caught 44 passes in 13 contests last season.
Jul 28, 2025
Not practicing Monday
Knox (hamstring) won't practice Monday, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox was activated off the PUP list Sunday, but the tight end is still not practicing as he deals with a hamstring injury, per Sal Maiorana of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. Maiorana adds that Knox doesn't seem to be limping very much at this stage, suggesting that the the Bills are simply being careful to not rush the veteran tight end back.
Jul 27, 2025
Ready to practice
The Bills activated Knox (hamstring) from the active/non-football injury list Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox opened training camp on the NFI list with a hamstring injury, but he is now able to return to practice ahead of the Bills' first preseason game versus the Giants on Aug. 9. The 28-year-old caught 22 passes for 311 yards and one touchdown across 16 regular-season games last year. He should be set to reprise his job as the No. 2 TE behind Dalton Kincaid this season.
Jul 23, 2025
Dealing with hamstring issue
Knox will miss Wednesday's opening training camp practice due to a hamstring issue, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
On Wednesday, coach Sean McDermott didn't provide a timetable for the tight end's return to the field, with the team taking it "one day at a time" with injured players such as Knox. The 2019 third-rounder was placed on the active/non-football injury list by the Bills on Tuesday, but can be activated at any time, once he's ready to resume practice.
Jul 22, 2025
Placed on NFI list by Bills
Knox (undisclosed) was placed on the active/non-football injury list by the Bills on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
An undisclosed injury will delay Knox from joining his teammates on the field in training camp, but once the tight end is ready to practice, he can be activated from the NFI list at any time. When available, Knox, who caught 22 catches for 311 yards and one touchdown (33 targets) in 16 regular-season games in 2024, is part of Buffalo's 1-2 punch at TE, along with 2023 first-rounder Dalton Kincaid.
Jan 27, 2025
Secures only target in AFCCG loss
Knox hauled in his only target for seven yards during Sunday's 32-29 loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
ANALYSIS
Knox played 62 percent of offensive snaps during Buffalo's season-ending playoff loss to Kansas City, compared to 46 percent of offensive snaps for second-year pro Dalton Kincaid (two catches for 13 yards on four targets). Across 16 regular-season appearances, Knox racked up 22 catches for 311 yards and one touchdown. The veteran tight end has two more years remaining on his deal with the Bills, though the team has a potential 'out' after the 2025 season.
Jan 14, 2025
Two grabs in wild-card win
Knox caught two of three targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 31-7 wild-card win over the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Knox played 46 of the Bills' 76 offensive snaps in the contest, ahead of both Dalton Kincaid (29) and Quintin Morris (5). Even with his elevated snap share, the veteran tight end was unable to get much going on his three targets. With Sunday's victory against the Broncos, the Bills are now set to face the Ravens in the divisional-round on Jan. 19. Knox will likely continue to operate in a limited role against Baltimore while sharing the majority of tight end duties with Kincaid, the preferred option in the passing game.
Jan 9, 2025
No snaps in season finale
Knox did not play a single snap in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
With the Bills locking in the No. 2 seed in the AFC, Knox and several other players missed all or most of the contest to rest for the playoffs. The 28-year-old Knox and fellow tight end Dawson Kincaid watched from the sideline as teammate Quintin Morris handled every tight end snap in the game. Knox will return to his role as the Bills' primary backup at the position in their next game when the Bills host the Broncos in the wild card round of the playoffs.
Dec 31, 2024
Minimal production against Jets
Knox caught one of three targets for four yards in Sunday's 40-14 win over the Jets
ANALYSIS
Knox had another quiet day in Week 17, continuing a 2024 campaign which has been mostly disappointing for fantasy purposes. The veteran played 34 of the Bills 70 offensive snaps in the contest, slightly ahead of fellow tight end Dalton Kincaid (31). It's possible that gap in playing time could increase in Week 18, as the Bills may choose to rest their starters against the Patriots. In this case, Knox could see extra opportunities against New England in the season finale.
Dec 25, 2024
Targeted twice in win
Knox caught both of his targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 24-21 win over the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Knox ended Sunday's contest with a modest receiving total despite leading Buffalo tight ends in snap share. The veteran played 56 percent of the Bills' offensive snaps against New England while Dalton Kincaid handled a 34 percent snap share. It was Kincaid, however, who saw more targets from Josh Allen with seven passes coming his way. The 28-year-old Knox will continue to be extremely difficult to trust in Week 17 when the Bills host the Jets.
Dec 18, 2024
Two catches in win
Knox caught two of three targets for 42 yards in Sunday's 48-42 win over the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Knox played 51 of the Bills' 70 offensive snaps Sunday, the most of any Buffalo tight end. Meanwhile, teammate Dalton Kincaid returned from a three-game absence due to a knee injury and saw four more targets than Knox despite playing 17 less snaps. The 28-year-old Knox will likely continue to see his role decrease with the more dynamic Kincaid back in the mix. The veteran is best left out of fantasy lineups going forward with a Week 16 matchup against the Patriots on tap.
Dec 10, 2024
Targeted once in loss
Knox caught his lone target for five yards in Sunday's 44-42 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Knox operated as the Bills' No. 1 tight end Sunday with teammate Dalton Kincaid (knee) sidelined for the third straight game. Despite playing 82 percent of Buffalo's offensive snaps, the veteran was targeted just once in the contest. With Kincaid possibly nearing a return, Knox is unlikely to hold much fantasy value going forward with such limited usage in the passing game. The Bills will visit the Lions in Week 15.
Dec 1, 2024
Posts team-high 56 receiving yards
Knox caught both of his targets for 56 yards in Sunday's 35-10 win over the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Knox was the only Bills player to exceed 30 receiving yards as Buffalo relied primarily on the run in this snowy victory. Dalton Kincaid (knee) hasn't suited up since Week 10, and Knox has racked up 94 receiving yards in the two games Kincaid has missed, sandwiched around Buffalo's Week 12 bye. If Kincaid remains unavailable in Week 14 against the Rams, Knox would be in line for elevated usage in the passing game again.
Nov 29, 2024
Remains team's TE1 with Kincaid out
Knox is in line to maintain a larger role Sunday against the 49ers, as Dalton Kincaid (knee) has been ruled out.
ANALYSIS
Knox ascended to the top of the tight end depth chart in Kincaid's absence against the Chiefs in Week 11 and proceeded to turn six targets into four catches for 40 yards. Buffalo's Week 12 bye didn't provide Kincaid sufficient time to recover, so Knox should maintain a sizable role against a 49ers defense that has limited tight ends to 384 receiving yards this season -- second-fewest in the NFL.
Nov 17, 2024
Gains 40 yards sans Kincaid
Knox finished with four receptions on six targets for 40 yards in Sunday's 30-21 win over the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Knox filled in for injured starter Dalton Kincaid (knee) in a headline win over the Chiefs. The 28-year-old Knox recorded new season highs in targets (six) and receptions (four), but his 40 receiving yards did not. With the Bills entering a bye week, Knox may find himself back in the backup role when the team resumes play against San Francisco on Dec. 1.
Nov 15, 2024
Likely to see increased reps
With Dalton Kincaid (knee) ruled out for Week 11 against the Chiefs, Knox is expected to take on an elevated role Sunday.
ANALYSIS
With Kincaid dealing with the injury last Sunday against the Colts, Knox played a season-high 70 percent of the offensive snaps and matched his season bests in targets (three) and catches (two) en route to a 2-40-0 receiving line. Knox doesn't have much upside in terms of catches and yards, but he's a trusted red-zone weapon for Josh Allen and is worthy of consideration at tight end for needy fantasy players.
Nov 10, 2024
Records chunk gain in Sunday's win
Knox brought in two of three targets for 40 yards in the Bills' 30-20 win over the Colts on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Fellow tight end Dalton Kincaid suffered a knee injury of unknown severity in the second half of Sunday's game, so Knox could be set for a bigger role in the short term. Sunday, he contributed a season-long 34-yard grab on his way to his second-highest yardage total of the season. Knox could play a key role in the air attack in a Week 11 home showdown against the Chiefs if Kincaid is sidelined for the contest.
Nov 5, 2024
Records one reception in Week 9
Knox finished Sunday's 30-27 win over the Dolphins with one catch on two targets for five yards.
ANALYSIS
Knox had his best game of the season in Week 8 against Seattle with two catches for 50 yards, but he couldn't follow that with meaningful production against Miami. The veteran tight end has recorded one or zero catches in eight of his nine contests on the campaign, making him an afterthought in most fantasy leagues. It would likely take Dalton Kincaid missing time for Knox to reemerge on the fantasy landscape this season.
Oct 30, 2024
Two catches in win
Knox caught both of his targets for 50 yards in Sunday's 31-10 win over the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Knox's two receptions and 50 yards in Sunday's matchup against the Seahawks were both season highs for the veteran. The 27-year-old tight end finished the game tied with Dalton Kincaid in offensive snaps (41), but the latter had the more productive fantasy day, catching four of seven targets for 31 yards and a touchdown. With Kincaid continuing to see the majority of targets at tight end, Knox is best ignored for fantasy purposes. The Bills are set to host the Dolphins in Week 9.
Oct 25, 2024
Ready for Week 8
Knox (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game in Seattle.
ANALYSIS
Knox didn't practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury, but he followed up the absence with a limited session Thursday before capping the week with full participation Friday. With fellow TE Dalton Kincaid (collarbone) also in the clear after an uncapped practice Friday, the Bills top two options at the position will be available Sunday.
Oct 24, 2024
Logs limited practice
Knox (ankle) returned to a limited practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Knox missed Wednesday's session, so his return to the field a day later has him moving in the right direction ahead of Sunday's game against the Seahawks. Meanwhile, Dalton Kincaid (collarbone) was limited both days, which sets the stage for Friday's injury report to add valuable context with regard to the chances of the Bills' top two TEs playing his weekend.
Oct 24, 2024
Practices Thursday
Knox (ankle) returned to practice Thursday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox missed Wednesday's session, but his return to the field a day later has him trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's game against the Seahawks. The tight end will presumably need to practice fully by Friday, however, to head into the weekend minus an injury designation.
Oct 23, 2024
Not practicing
Knox missed Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury.
ANALYSIS
Knox appeared banged up at one point in Sunday's 34-10 win over the Titans, but he nonetheless ended up playing 57 percent of snaps on offense. An absence this Sunday at Seattle likely would free up a few extra snaps for Dalton Kincaid, who was limited in Wednesday's practice due to a collarbone injury.
Oct 23, 2024
One grab in win
Knox caught one of three targets for five yards in Sunday's 34-10 win over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Knox played 31 of the Bills' 55 offensive snaps in the contest, continuing the fulfill No. 2 tight end duties behind starter Dalton Kincaid. With that said, Kincaid played just nine more snaps Sunday while seeing six targets from quarterback Josh Allen. The 27-year-old Knox remains off the fantasy radar, as his inconsistent production is extremely difficult to trust each week. The Bills will visit the Seahawks in Week 8.
Oct 16, 2024
Finds end zone in win
Knox caught his lone target for 12 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 23-20 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Knox's trip to the end zone was his first of the 2024 campaign, as the veteran tight end has taken a back seat to teammate Dalton Kincaid in the Bills passing attack. Through six games, the 27-year-old has recorded just four catches on six targets for 42 yards. As long as Kincaid is healthy, Knox cannot be trusted for consistent production in Buffalo. The Bills are will host the Titans in Week 7.
Oct 9, 2024
Not targeted in Week 5
Knox failed to record a single target in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Knox was held without a target for the second time this season. The veteran tight end continues to play behind teammate Dalton Kincaid, who saw six targets in the contest. Operating as the No. 2 tight end with minimal usage in the passing game, Knox can be safely left off of fantasy rosters heading into a Week 6 matchup with the Jets.
Oct 2, 2024
One grab against Ravens
Knox secured his lone target for zero yards in Sunday's 35-10 loss to the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Knox had a quiet day in Week 4 while fellow tight end Dalton Kincaid led the Bills in targets against the Ravens. The 27-year-old Knox played 27 of Buffalo's 59 offensive snaps, 10 fewer than Kincaid. Though the two tight ends are sharing playing time, Knox's smaller role in the passing game limits his fantasy potential. The veteran shouldn't be trusted for fantasy purposes barring an injury to Kincaid. The Bills will visit the Texans in Week 5.
Sep 25, 2024
Targeted twice in Week 3
Knox caught one of two targets for seven yards in Monday's 47-10 win over the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Knox was in a near-even split in tight end snaps with teammate Dalton Kincaid in the contest, each handling 33 and 34 offensive snaps, respectively. The 27-year-old Knox, however, has taken a clear backseat to Kincaid as a pass catcher in the tight end pecking order. Knox should not be in fantasy consideration barring an injury to Kincaid going forward. The Bills will visit the Ravens in Week 4.
Sep 13, 2024
No targets Thursday
Knox wasn't targeted in Thursday's 31-10 win over the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Knox surprisingly matched Dalton Kincaid with two targets apiece in Week 1, but the Week 2 distribution was closer to preseason expectations, with Kincaid getting all four targets among Buffalo's tight ends. Barring an injury to Kincaid, Knox will likely be used primarily in a blocking role in Week 3 against the Jaguars and beyond.
Sep 11, 2024
One catch against Cardinals
Knox caught one of two targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 34-28 win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Knox operated as the No. 2 tight end behind Dalton Kincaid, but both tight ends finished the day with just two targets. The 27-year-old Knox was on the field for 58 percent of the Bills' offensive snaps, while Kincaid finished with a 84 percent snap share in the contest. The veteran will likely face an uphill battle for meaningful targets this season, keeping him off the fantasy radar heading into a Week 2 matchup against the Dolphins.
Aug 19, 2024
Returns from groin injury
Knox (groin) played in Saturday's preseason game against Pittsburgh and caught his lone target for a nine-yard gain.
ANALYSIS
Knox and Dalton Kincaid both started, alongside RB James Cook and WRs Keon Coleman and Mack Hollins. Kincaid was removed from the game after two snaps, and Knox didn't stay in much longer (six snaps) before handing things over to No. 3 TE Quintin Morris, who then left with a shoulder injury. Groin and ankle injuries have cost Knox some practice time this summer, but he's been available more often than not.
Aug 15, 2024
Misses practice Thursday
Knox (groin/ankle) didn't practice Thursday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With Knox managing a pair of injury concerns, the tight end is a candidate to miss Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers. Knox logged nine snaps in Buffalo's exhibition opener against the Bears, en route to logging one target. Once the regular season starts, the 2019 first-rounder is slated to maintain a role in the Bills offense as a blocker and pass catcher, but the continued presence of 2023 first-rounder Dalton Kincaid limits the fantasy upside of Knox when both players are available.
Aug 5, 2024
Returns to practice
Knox (groin) returned to practice Monday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox's absence Sunday was chalked up to "groin/vet rest" and this would seem to confirm it's nothing serious. He should still have a role in the Buffalo offense as a regular blocker and occasional pass catcher, but he isn't likely to see as many targets as he did from 2019 to 2022 now that the Bills have 2023 first-round pick Dalton Kincaid at tight end.
Aug 4, 2024
Managing groin injury
Knox isn't practicing Sunday due to a groin issue, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox's absence is also denoted as "vet rest" on the team's injury report, but this is the first word of a groin issue. It's unclear if veteran tight end's absence from Sunday's practice is precautionary or if he's going to miss additional time. Knox is slated to again cede most of the team's tight-end pass-catching work to Dalton Kincaid during the coming campaign.
Mar 11, 2024
Agrees to restructure contract
Knox and the Bills have agreed to a restructured contract that lowers his scheduled $14.4 million cap hit for 2024, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The tight end is entering the second season of a four-year, $52 million extension that guarantees most of his money through 2024 but none thereafter. It's possible this agreement changes that, but if not, Knox's future with the team could come into question next offseason. His fantasy value has taken a big hit since the Bills drafted fellow tight end Dalton Kincaid in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Feb 17, 2024
Disappointing fifth season
Knox finished the 2023 regular season with 22 catches for 186 yards and two touchdowns over 12 games.
ANALYSIS
An injured wrist and subsequent surgery caused Knox to miss Weeks 8-12, and by that point, rookie phenom Dalton Kincaid was well on his way to usurping the No. 1 tight end spot. With Kincaid finishing with a 73-673-2 line and having three more years on his contract, Knox seems relegated to a No. 2 role entering next season. Knox is also a decent blocker, so while he should maintain an important role in the offense, it would take an injury to Kincaid for the former to have any meaningful value next season, even in a Josh Allen-led attack.
Jan 12, 2024
Ready to face Steelers
Knox (illness) doesn't carry a designation ahead of Sunday's wild-card playoff game against the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
An illness sidelined Knox for Thursday's practice, but the tight end's return to a full session Friday sets the stage for him to be available for Buffalo's playoff opener. With wideout Gabe Davis (knee) ruled out for the contest, Knox will have a chance to make his mark Sunday alongside fellow TE Dalton Kincaid and top WR Stefon Diggs, especially if inclement weather at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park results in a game plan that leans on the run and a less aggressive passing attack.
Jan 12, 2024
Back at practice
Knox (illness) returned to practice Friday, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
An illness kept Knox from practicing Thursday, but the tight end's return to the field a day later has him trending toward being available for Sunday's playoff opener against the Steelers. The Bills' final injury report of the week will reveal whether Knox heads into the weekend with a designation or fully cleared for action.
Jan 11, 2024
Misses practice with illness
Knox isn't participating in Thursday's practice due to an illness, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox's ailment apparently surfaced at some point after Wednesday's practice, as the veteran tight end didn't appear on the Bills' initial weekly injury report released a day earlier. Assuming he's able to make a quick recovery from the illness and gets back on the field for Friday's practice, Knox should still be in good position to play in Sunday's wild-card game against the Steelers. After returning from injured reserve following the Bills' Week 13 bye, Knox suited up for each of the team's final five regular-season contests but played fewer than half of the offensive snaps in four of those games while rookie Dalton Kincaid surpassed him in the pecking order at tight end.
Jan 3, 2024
Back seat to Kincaid
Knox played 29 offensive snaps but was not targeted in the passing game during Sunday's 27-21 win over the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Knox is still getting on the field with regularity, playing between 43 percent and 63 percent of the offensive snaps since returning from a wrist injury in Week 14. Meanwhile, rookie teammate Dalton Kincaid led the team with 87 yards on four catches, further cementing himself as the better receiving option among the two talented tight ends. As for Knox, he has only one TD catch on the season and hasn't exceeded 36 receiving yards in any of his 11 games played, leaving him as a deep, deep option at best among fantasy tight ends.
Dec 26, 2023
Modest production since return
Knox caught both of his targets for 26 yards in Buffalo's 24-22 win over the Chargers on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Knox was on the field for 46 percent of the offensive snaps compared to 40 percent for rookie teammate Dalton Kincaid, who was also targeted twice but caught just one ball for seven yards. With every game crucial for the Bills here on out and both tight ends healthy, it's becoming clear this is going to be a timeshare depending on the game situation and offensive formation. The offense is clicking, but there's also plenty of talent and it's become tough to trust anyone on a weekly basis outside of Josh Allen, James Cook and Stefon Diggs, and even the star Diggs has struggled lately. Knox at least looks healthy after returning from a wrist injury three weeks ago, but he's totaled just five catches for 62 yards over that three-game span.
Dec 20, 2023
Not targeted in win
Knox failed to record a single target in Sunday's 31-10 win over the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Knox played 42 of the Bills 64 offensive snaps, while rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid (shoulder) was on the field for 33 snaps. Neither tight end was able to record a reception in the contest, though Kincaid did see two targets out of Josh Allen's 15 passing attempts. If both Knox and Kincaid are healthy on game day, they could continue to limit one another's fantasy potential. Nonetheless, the veteran will look to bounce back in a Week 16 matchup with the Chargers.
Dec 10, 2023
Three grabs in return
Knox caught all three of his targets for 36 yards in Sunday's 20-17 win over Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
Rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid (shoulder) caught five passes on eight targets on the day, but Knox produces more yardage with his grabs in his first game action since Week 7. Kincaid left the game late in the fourth quarter and the severity of his injury isn't yet clear, so while Knox had a modest role Sunday in his return from wrist surgery, he could be a bigger factor in Week 15 against the Cowboys.
Dec 10, 2023
Returning to action in Week 14
Knox (wrist) is listed as active Sunday at Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
Since the Bills designated Knox for return from injured reserve Wednesday, he didn't have any practice restrictions but still entered the weekend as questionable for Sunday's game. With his status now confirmed for Week 14 action, he'll be making his first appearance since undergoing wrist surgery following a Week 7 loss at New England. Knox wasn't particularly productive before going on IR, hauling in 15 of 28 targets for 102 yards and one touchdown in seven appearances, so he may play second fiddle to rookie TE Dalton Kincaid as a pass catcher due to the latter's cumulative 56-474-2 line on 64 targets so far this season.
Dec 9, 2023
Activated off IR
Knox (wrist) was activated off injured reserve Saturday. He still remains questionable for Sunday's contest against the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Knox didn't need to be activated off injured reserve just yet, so presumably the burly tight end will play Sunday, but the Bills have yet to confirm his game-time status. It'll be interesting to see the playing-time splits between Knox and dynamic rookie Dalton Kincaid, who blossomed into one of the team's top targets in the absence of multi-year starter.
Dec 8, 2023
Questionable but likely to play
Knox (wrist) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Chris Brown of One Bills Live reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox will need to be activated from injured reserve before Sunday's game to suit up, but coach Sean McDermott said earlier Friday that Knox has a good chance to play. The tight end then proceeded to log a third consecutive full practice since having his 21-day window to return from injured reserve opened, so Knox will more likely than not return to action in Kansas City.
Dec 8, 2023
Likely to play barring setback
Knox (wrist) has a "good chance" to be activated for Sunday's game in Kansas City if he continues to look good in practice, coach Sean McDermott said Friday, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox has been practicing without limitations since having his 21-day window to return from injured reserve opened, but his return to the field would have to be preceded by an official transaction adding him back onto Buffalo's active roster. If he remains a full participant Friday, there's a strong possibility that Knox will be activated prior to Sunday's game for his first actin since Week 7.
Dec 6, 2023
Full participant Wednesday
Knox (wrist) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Knox hit the ground running after being designated to return from injured reserve earlier Wednesday. His full participation suggests Knox has a chance to return as soon as Sunday's game in Kansas City, though he would first have to be officially activated from injured reserve. Rookie first-round pick Dalton Kincaid has excelled in Knox's absence, and Kincaid will likely remain the top pass catcher among Buffalo's tight ends even if Knox returns for his first action since Week 7.
Dec 6, 2023
Designate to return from IR
The Bills designated Knox (wrist) on Wednesday to return from injured reserve, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox missed five games (Weeks 8-12) and is now ready to practice after a Week 13 bye. Coach Sean McDermott isn't sure if the tight end will be ready for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, per Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News, but it would at least seem Knox stands a good chance to play Week 15 or 16. Rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid emerged as a reliable fantasy starter in Knox's absence the past month and a half, though No. 3 wide receiver was actually the biggest winner in terms of added playing time, as the Bills pivoted to far fewer multi-TE formation and more three-wide looks. Many have noted that WR Stefon Diggs has far better numbers with Knox in the lineup this year, though it's hard to say if that's really about the tight end or more a product of variance/matchups.
Nov 24, 2023
Week 14 return possible
Coach Sean McDermott noted Friday that the Bills are "hopeful but not certain" that Knox (wrist) will be able to return to action after the Bills' Week 13 bye, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox, who remains on IR, last suited up in Week 7, but it's possible that he could return to the mix as soon as the Bills' Dec. 10 contest against the Chiefs. While that's hardly a lock to happen, it does appear as though the tight end will be back before the end of the season. In the meantime, Dalton Kincaid will remain the team's top TE option.
Nov 20, 2023
Not expected back in Week 12
Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Monday that he doesn't expect Knox (wrist) to resume practicing this week ahead of Sunday's game against the Eagles, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox is eligible to rejoin the Bills for practice after missing the requisite four games since being placed on injured reserve Oct. 26, but his surgically-repaired right wrist looks as though it still requires more time to heal. The Bills are on bye Week 13, so the team may be incentivized to wait until Week 14 before entertaining the possibility of integrating Knox into practices. While Knox has been out for the past four weeks, rookie first-round pick Dalton Kincaid has taken on a higher volume of the snaps at tight end and has emerged as arguably top option in the Buffalo passing attack after wideout Stefon Diggs. In four games sans Knox, Kincaid has turned in a 26-243-2 receiving line on 31 targets.
Oct 26, 2023
Goes on IR
The Bills placed Knox (wrist) on injured reserve Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Including Thursday's game against the Buccaneers, Knox will be unavailable for at least the Bills' next four contests after undergoing surgery earlier this week to address a wrist injury that he had been dealing with since the team's Oct. 8 loss to the Jaguars. While Knox is sidelined, rookie first-round Dalton Kincaid should see an expanded profile on offense as the Bills' clear No. 1 tight end. Knox is eligible to resume practicing Week 12 and could be available to play in the Bills' game against the Eagles on Nov. 26, depending on how quickly his wrist heals.
Oct 26, 2023
Candidate for IR
Knox, who is slated to undergo wrist surgery, is likely to be placed on injured reserve by the Bills, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
If so, Knox, who has already been ruled for Thursday night's game against the Buccaneers, would be forced to miss a minimum of four games. In his looming absence, 2023 first-rounder Dalton Kincaid is slated to see expanded opportunities in the coming weeks, with Quintin Morris (also out versus Tampa Bay) a candidate to log complementary work once he returns from an ankle injury and Joel Wilson likely to be elevated from the Bills' practice squad ahead of Week 8 action.
Oct 25, 2023
Officially out for Week 8
Coach Sean McDermott said Wednesday that Knox (wrist) is ruled out for Thursday's game against the Buccaneers, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox missing Thursday Night Football versus Tampa Bay comes as little surprise, with McDermott confirming that the tight end underwent wrist surgery yesterday and is "recovering at the moment," per Getzenberg. With Quintin Morris (ankle) also out for Thursday, Dalton Kincaid is currently Buffalo's only healthy tight end on the active roster, though Joel Wilson is available to come up off the practice squad. The next chance for Knox to take the field will be Nov. 05 versus the Bengals, but it remains to be seen whether he'll require more time on the sidelines to recover from his wrist procedure.
Oct 23, 2023
Set to undergo wrist surgery
Coach Sean McDermott noted Monday that Knox is slated to undergo surgery on his wrist, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per the report, the looming procedure will address an issue that Knox has been dealing with since the Bills' Week 5 loss to the Jaguars. At this stage, there's no timetable for the tight end's return to action, but it seems safe to assume that he's in line to miss Thursday's game against the Buccaneers, at a minimum. While Knox is sidelined, fellow TE Dalton Kincaid should see an uptick in opportunities in Buffalo's passing offense.
Oct 15, 2023
Suits up Sunday
Knox (wrist) is listed as active for Sunday night's game against the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Meanwhile, fellow tight end Dalton Kincaid (concussion) is unavailable for the contest, a context that should allow Knox to see increased opportunities versus the Giants, thus boosting his Week 6 fantasy upside. Also on hand to provide the Bills with TE depth Sunday is Quintin Morris, who has yet to record a target in five contests to date.
Oct 15, 2023
Expected to play
Knox (wrist), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, is expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox practiced on a limited basis for a third straight day Friday, so it seems likely he will play. However, fantasy managers will want to wait for official word when inactives are released about 90 minutes before Sunday night's 8:20 pm ET kickoff.
Oct 13, 2023
Gets questionable tag for Sunday
Knox (wrist) practiced on a limited basis for the third straight day Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Fellow tight end Dalton Kincaid (concussion) is also listed as questionable after following the same practice schedule as Knox this week. The ball gets spread around too much in the Buffalo offense to the point that either Knox or Kincaid take on reliable volume in the passing game, but that would change if one plays and the other sits, especially against a vulnerable defense like the Giants'.
Oct 12, 2023
Logs another limited practice
Knox (wrist) remained limited at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
The same applies to Dalton Kincaid (concussion), and the Bills' top two tight ends will need to practice fully Friday in order to avoid injury designations ahead of Sunday night's game against the Giants. If Kincaid doesn't end up clearing the NFL's concussion protocol in time, Knox would be in line for added Week 6 opportunities, provided he suits up this weekend.
Oct 11, 2023
Starts week with limited practice
Knox (wrist) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox hurt his wrist in Buffalo's 25-20 loss to the Jaguars in London this past Sunday, but it's encouraging that he practiced Wednesday, albeit in a limited capacity. Fellow tight end Dalton Kincaid (concussion) was also limited. Buffalo's top two tight ends will each have two more opportunities to upgrade to full participation and shed their injury designations before the Bills host the Giants on Sunday night.
Oct 9, 2023
Picks up wrist injury
Knox suffered a wrist injury in Sunday's loss to the Jaguars, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Sean McDermott said the team will see how the weeks goes for both Knox and Dalton Kincaid, who was placed in the concussion protocol Monday. If neither is able to play next Sunday night against the Giants, Quintin Morris is next up on the depth chart at tight end. Knox has 11 catches for 75 yards and one touchdown on 19 targets through five games.
Oct 6, 2023
Cleared to play in London
Knox (quadriceps) logged a full practice Friday and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Jaguars in London.
ANALYSIS
Knox opened the week with a pair of limited practices, but his full participation Friday suggests the tight end isn't in danger of sitting out Sunday. Rookie first-round pick Dalton Kincaid has 15 catches to Knox's eight through four games, but Knox has the only touchdown between them, and the 6-foot-4 Knox scored 15 times over the previous two seasons. Both of Buffalo's top two tight ends could see substantial involvement against a Jacksonville defense that has allowed 261 yards and two touchdowns to the position this season.
Oct 5, 2023
Another limited practice
Knox (quad) remained limited at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Knox was also limited Wednesday and he'll need to practice fully Friday in order to avoid an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. With eight catches for 58 yards and a TD in four games thus far, Knox's fantasy utility has been modest while working alongside fellow TE Dalton Kincaid, who has caught 15 passes in that span.
Oct 4, 2023
Logs limited practice
Knox (quad) was limited at practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
In the Bills' 48-20 win over the Dolphins in Week 4, Knox was on the field for 29 of a possible 58 snaps on offense, while catching his only target for 12 yards. His status will need to be monitored ahead of this Sunday's game against the Jaguars, but the presence of fellow TE Dalton Kincaid caps Knox's fantasy upside. To date, the 2019 third-rounder has caught eight of his 13 targets for 58 yards and a TD in four games, which Kincaid has recorded a 15/99/0 receiving line in that span.
Oct 4, 2023
Catches one pass in win
Knox secured his only target for 12 yards in Sunday's 48-20 win over the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Knox had an underwhelming performance in Week 4, playing 29 of the Bills' 58 offensive snaps. In fact, the veteran tight end played one fewer snap than rookie Dalton Kincaid, who finished the game with four catches on five targets. It appears Kincaid has become the preferred pass catching option in Buffalo's tight end corps, giving Knox less upside for fantasy purposes. If a near-even split continues between the Bills' top-two options, Knox will at least have a chance to be involved in some capacity. However, consistent fantasy production may be hard to come by for the 26-year-old. Knox will look to have a bounce-back performance in a Week 5 matchup with the Jaguars.
Sep 27, 2023
Quiet in win
Knox secured one of his two targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 37-3 win over the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
Despite the Bills winning in a blowout over the Commanders, Knox was not a significant part of the offensive game plan Sunday. The 26-year-old and his rookie counterpart Dalton Kincaid both saw two targets in the contest, yet Knox saw the field slightly more at tight end, handling 41 snaps to Kincaid's 35 snaps. Going forward, it would appear that Knox will likely rely on finding the end zone if he is to produce much for fantasy purposes, as his usage in short areas and time split with Kincaid certainly limit his potential. The veteran will look to bounce back in Week 4 in what could be a shootout when the Bills host the Dolphins.
Sep 22, 2023
Practices fully, slated to play
Knox (back) practiced in full Friday and doesn't have an injury designation ahead of Sunday's Week 3 game against the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
Knox missed Wednesday and Thursday's practices, but it was evidently just precautionary. On nine targets through two games, Knox has six catches for 35 yards and one touchdown. He's a touchdown-dependent fantasy option in a tough draw against Washington's stout back end.
Sep 22, 2023
Returning to practice
Knox (back) is in line to practice Friday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox didn't practice either Wednesday or Thursday, so his looming return to the field Friday offers hope that the tight end could suit up Sunday against the Commanders. The Bills' upcoming injury report will clarify both Knox's level of participation as well as whether he'll head into the weekend with a Week 3 injury designation.
Sep 21, 2023
Not practicing again
Knox (back) won't practice Thursday, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox also missed Wednesday's practice, so the tight end -- who is taking things "one day at a time" per coach coach Sean McDermott -- will probably need to work in some capacity Friday in order to have a chance to suit up Sunday against the Commanders. If Knox ends up sidelined this weekend, fellow TE Dalton Kincaid would be in line for added opportunities Week 3.
Sep 20, 2023
Not practicing Wednesday
Knox (back) won't practice Wednesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox now has two more opportunities to practice ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders, but if he's out or limited this weekend, fellow TE Dalton Kincaid would be in line for added Week 3 opportunities. Through two contests to begin the 2023 season, Knox has caught six passes on nine targets for 35 yards and a TD.
Sep 17, 2023
Finds end zone
Knox recorded three receptions on five targets for 10 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-10 win over the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Knox saw a similar amount of opportunity as compared to Dalton Kincaid, though he was far less productive. The exception was that Knox found the end zone from two yards away early in the second quarter after shaking free from the attention of the Las Vegas secondary. Overall, his role seems to be strictly in the short areas of the field, so much of his fantasy production will have to come from reaching the end zone.
Sep 12, 2023
Similar stat line to Kincaid
Knox caught three of four targets for 25 yards in Monday's 22-16 overtime loss to the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Knox had one fewer yard on the same number of targets as rookie first-round pick Dalton Kincaid. Both tight ends figure to play prominent roles in Buffalo's passing game, which was unusually quiet in the season opener against the stingy Jets defense. Knox has 15 touchdown catches over the past two seasons, and the 2019 third-round draft pick should remain a key contributor in the red zone given his established chemistry with quarterback Josh Allen, coupled with Knox's superior blocking ability compared to Kincaid.
Sep 7, 2023
Not on injury report
Knox (finger) isn't on the Bills' Week 1 injury report.
ANALYSIS
Safety Micah Hyde (back), who was limited Thursday, is the only Buffalo player listed on the team's initial practice/injury report of the season. Now that Knox is past the finger injury that he dealt with last month, the tight end is in line to work in tandem with first-round rookie Dalton Kincaid. While the arrival of Kincaid figures to impact Knox's volume as the campaign progresses, both players should still have an opportunity to produce in the Bills' Josh Allen-helmed passing offense, which also features WRs Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis.
Aug 22, 2023
Back at practice Tuesday
Knox (finger) returned to practice Tuesday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox played four snaps in the preseason opener but missed last weekend's second exhibition. He should be on track for the Week 1 opener against the Jets on Monday, Sept. 11. Knox's role remains secure as the top inline tight end, but the arrival of first-round rookie Dalton Kincaid clouds Knox's potential target share as the fourth or fifth option in the pecking order on offense.
Aug 20, 2023
Expected to practice Sunday
Bills coach Sean McDermott said that Knox (finger) is expected to participate in the team's walkthrough Sunday, Ryan O'Halloran of The Buffalo News reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox did not suit up for Saturday's 27-15 preseason loss to the Steelers due to an injury to one of his pinkie fingers. The 26-year-old is currently considered day-to-day with this issue, and it's unclear if he'd be ready to participate in a full practice yet. The Bills' preseason finale will arrive this coming Saturday against the Bears, and Knox's potential absence could leave more opportunities for rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid, who just caught three passes for 45 yards against Pittsburgh.
Aug 19, 2023
Sidelined by finger injury
Knox (finger) won't play in Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Buscaglia notes that Knox's finger injury has the tight end considered day-to-day, so it doesn't appear as though his Week 1 status is in danger. With the Bills expected to play a number of their key players Saturday, Dalton Kincaid should have a chance to get some work in with starting QB Josh Allen.
Jul 26, 2023
Back at practice
Knox (lower leg) participated in Wednesday's training camp practice, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox dealt with a leg issue during last month's minicamp, but is evidently good to go for training camp. The 26-year-old approaches the coming season as the Bills' presumed top tight end, but the addition of rookie first-rounder Dalton Kincaid means that Knox now has some legitimate competition for snaps/targets in the team's passing offense. In that context, the looming potential for a TE time-share in Buffalo represents a hit to Knox's fantasy ceiling in 2023.
Jun 14, 2023
Doesn't practice Wednesday
Knox (lower leg) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bills opened a three-day mandatory minicamp Tuesday, but Knox left the practice after colliding with Kaiir Elam. The tight end was spotted wearing a sleeve on his left leg Wednesday and appeared to be walking without a limp, so for now, it appears Buffalo is simply being cautious. Knox will have one more chance to suit up at minicamp Thursday before the focus shifts to training camp at the end of July.
Jun 13, 2023
Hurts leg Tuesday
Knox injured his lower left leg during Tuesday's practice, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As the Bills kicked off mandatory minicamp Tuesday, safety Taylor Rapp broke up a Josh Allen pass directed at Knox, who then took a hit from a late breaking Kaiir Elam. Knox was tended to by the team's training staff, took some time to get to his feet and didn't rejoin his teammates for on-field work. With two more minicamp sessions to go this week, it wouldn't surprise if Buffalo takes a cautious approach with Knox to ensure he's as healthy as possible for the start of training camp in late July.

New competition in TE room
Dawson will likely face some competition for targets after the Bills selected Dalton Kincaid in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
The Bills traded up with the Jaguars to land Kincaid, so we'd think Buffalo has big plans for the rookie and doesn't plan to have him doing a lot of sitting around. That said, the two new teammates have different skill sets, so perhaps they could be sharing the field together in two-TE sets. Nevertheless, even if Knox remains the clear-cut starter for another season, it's yet another mouth to feed in an offense where he's already been serving as the fourth or fifth option.

Leads team in receiving
Knox caught five of seven targets for 65 yards in Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Bengals in the AFC divisional round.
ANALYSIS
Knox comfortably led the Bills in receiving yards, with his total including a game-long catch of 32 yards while Buffalo tried catching up during the fourth quarter. While his team's offense mostly struggled in the snow Sunday, Knox turned in another solid regular season, catching 48 of 65 targets for 517 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games. With the security of a four-year extension signed back in September, Knox figures to remain a reliable complement for quarterback Josh Allen in 2023.
Jan 15, 2023
Catches TD in win
Knox caught three of five targets for 20 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-31 win over the Dolphins in the wild-card round.
ANALYSIS
Knox opened the scoring with an outstanding, one-handed catch on a six-yard bullet from quarterback Josh Allen during the first quarter. With that grab, Knox extended his scoring streak to five straight games, making him a significant threat as the Bills march into the AFC divisional round next weekend.
Jan 11, 2023
Scoring streak continues
Knox caught both of his targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 35-23 win over the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
That makes four straight games with a score for Knox, who rallied a bit to finish with a 48-517-6 line for the season, quite similar to his 49-587-9 line of 2021. Knox will remain a key red-zone option when the Bills begin their playoff march Sunday against the division-rival Dolphins.
Jan 6, 2023
Cleared for Week 18 action
Knox (hip) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Knox joined quarterback Josh Allen (ankle/elbow) as a limited participant at Thursday's practice, but both players took every rep at Friday's session to remove any lingering doubt about their statuses for the regular-season finale. Though he's noticed some regression in his touchdown count after finding the end zone a career-high nine times in 2021, Knox has more or less matched his receiving output from the previous season. He enters Sunday's game holding season-long averages of 3.3 catches, 36 yards and 4.5 targets per contest, roughly in line with his averages from 2021 (3.3, 39.1 and 4.7).
Jan 5, 2023
Limited at Thursday's session
The Bills list Knox (hip) as a limited participant at Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
After being listed a full participant at Wednesday's walk-through practice, Knox took a step back in terms of activity while the Bills reconvened for a more traditional workout Thursday. At this stage, the team hasn't indicated that Knox's hip issue is anything that seriously threatens his status for Sunday's game against the Patriots, but his availability for that contest won't be confirmed until Buffalo releases its final Week 18 injury report Friday.
Dec 31, 2022
Ready for Monday
Knox (hip) does not carry an injury designation into Monday's contest against the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Knox was a full participant in Saturday's practice clearing the way for the talented tight end to suit up in a pivotal AFC battle with high seeding at stake. The 26-year-old has caught a touchdown in each of the last three games after scoring just two through the first 13 weeks of the season.
Dec 30, 2022
Logs another limited practice
Knox (hip) remained limited at practice Friday.
ANALYSIS
Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com previously relayed that Knox had downplayed what he described as a "little hip pointer. Nothing major." However, after back-to-back limited listings, the tight end will presumably need to practice fully Saturday in order to avoid approaching Monday night's game against the Bengals with an injury designation.
Dec 29, 2022
Limited by hip issue
Knox (hip) was limited at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com,Knox -- who has downplayed what he previously described as a "little hip pointer. Nothing major," sported a red (non-contact) jersey at Thursday's practice. The tight end now has two more chances to increase his practice activity ahead of Monday night's game against the Bengals, but Knox will probably need to practice fully by Saturday in order to avoid a Week 17 injury designation.
Dec 24, 2022
Gets into end zone Saturday
Knox secured three of five targets for 38 yards and a touchdown in the Bills' 35-13 win over the Bears on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Knox tied for the team lead in receptions while finishing second in receiving yards on a modest day for the air attack overall. However, he rewarded fantasy managers with a 13-yard scoring grab with just over a minute remaining, his third in as many contests. Knox's expanded role has come at a critical time of the fantasy season, and he'll next tangle with the tough Bengals defense in a Week 17 road matchup on Monday night, Jan. 2.
Dec 18, 2022
Season-high 98 yards
Knox recorded six receptions on eight targets for 98 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 32-29 win over the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Knox paced the team in both receptions and yards, and the performance marked only the second time he caught more than five passes in a game this season. He also delivered a season-best 98 yards on the strength of long gains of 45 and 21 yards. Knox also delivered a five-yard touchdown reception early in the fourth quarter, his fourth of the season and second in as many games. While this was a positive performance, Knox entered the contest having racked up only 58 yards across his last three matchups combined.
Dec 11, 2022
Finds end zone in Week 14
Knox caught four of seven targets for 41 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-12 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Knox somersaulted into the end zone for a 24-yard touchdown in the final minute of the first half for the game's first points. The tight end finished as Buffalo's leader in targets, catches and receiving yards in addition to scoring the team's only touchdown through the air. This was a nice bounce-back effort for Knox after he was shut out by the Patriots in Week 13. He'll face the Dolphins in Week 15.
Dec 4, 2022
Shut out in Thursday night win
Knox failed to haul in his only target during Thursday's win over the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Knox has had a disappointing season, but this was the first time he's been shut out completely, and the single target also represents a season low. Knox hasn't seen the end zone since Week 8, as the potent offense continues to focus around other players. Knox is too good of a player to not have his moments before the season closes, but he's also becoming tough to rely upon, as the last two weeks have shown.
Nov 25, 2022
Held to two catches by Lions
Knox caught both of his targets for 17 yards in Thursday's 28-25 win over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
After leading the team in catches and receiving yards during Week 11, Knox wasn't nearly as involved four days later. The 26-year-old tight end has flashed talent, but he's having trouble carving out a consistent role in a Bills offense with plenty of other weapons. Knox has topped 50 yards only twice this season while finding the end zone just twice after scoring nine touchdowns in his breakout 2021 campaign.
Nov 20, 2022
Paces pass catchers in win
Knox brought in all seven targets for 70 yards in the Bills' 31-23 win over the Browns on Sunday. He also visited the X-ray room briefly but subsequently confirmed he was okay, per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Knox enjoyed his most productive day of the season while pacing the Bills' pass-catching corps in receptions and receiving yards. The third-year tight end has picked up the pace over the last two games with an 11-127 line on 13 targets and will look to keep that momentum in a Week 12 Thanksgiving battle against an inconsistent Lions defense.
Nov 15, 2022
Modest production in costly loss
Knox caught four of six targets for 57 yards in Sunday's loss to the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
The 57 yards is actually a season high for Knox, which shows it's been of a disappointment for the fourth-year tight end following last year's 49/587/9 breakout. In eight games played (Knox missed one), he has a modest 24-240-2 line. Among tight ends, Knox's yardage ranks tied for 22nd while his 24 catches rank tied for 20th, all far below where Knox was being drafted ahead of the season.
Oct 31, 2022
Finds end zone in SNF win
Knox caught two of three targets for 10 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-17 win over the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Knox is lagging behind his 49-587-9 line from last season, as he has just 17 catches for 158 yards and two scores though six games (he missed one contest). However, he's scored in back-to-back games, and there's really no competition behind him for tight-end targets, so his production could continue to pick up if teams start to sell out to cover Stefon Diggs with multiple defenders.
Oct 16, 2022
Scores first TD of year
Knox caught all three of his targets for 37 yards and his first touchdown of the season in Sunday's 24-20 win over Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
The tight end returned from a one-game absence to see his usual small target volume, but Knox made his looks count by hauling in the game-winning score on a 14-yard strike from Josh Allen with only 64 seconds left in the game. The tight end has caught at least three passes in each of his last four games, but he'll remain a TD-dependent fantasy option coming out of Buffalo's Week 7 bye.
Oct 14, 2022
Good to go Sunday
Knox (foot/hamstring) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
Though he never advanced beyond limited participation in practices Wednesday through Friday after sitting out the Week 5 win over the Steelers, Knox showed enough improvement in his recovery from the pair of injuries for the Bills to clear him to play Sunday. Knox should step back into the No. 1 role at tight end in what should be one of the higher-scoring matchups of Week 6, making the 25-year-old a viable lineup option coming off the one-game absence. Through four outings this season, Knox has accrued 12 catches for 111 yards and no touchdowns on 17 targets.
Oct 13, 2022
Still limited at practice
Knox (foot/hamstring) remained limited at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Since missing the Bills' Week 5 victory over the Steelers, Knox has logged back-to-back limited practices, which suggests that he could be back in action Sunday against the Chiefs. Friday's final injury report will reveal whether the tight end heads into the weekend with an injury designation or cleared to play against Kansas City.
Oct 12, 2022
Logs limited practice
Knox (foot/hamstring) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Knox, who missed the Bills' Week 5 win over the Steelers, didn't practice last week, so his return to the field Wednesday bodes well for his chances of returning to action Sunday against the Chiefs. In Knox's absence against Pittsburgh, Quintin Morris led Buffalo's tight-end corps with three catches on five targets for 39 yards.
Oct 12, 2022
Back at practice
Knox (foot/hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox was unable to practice last week before being ruled out ahead of Week 5 action. With his return to the field Wednesday, the tight end appears to be trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's game against Kansas City, though it remains to be seen what his official practice participation level will be.
Oct 7, 2022
Won't play Week 5
Knox (foot) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Sean McDermott has ruled Knox out for Sunday, which leaves Buffalo's receiving corps short handed. Jamison Crowder (ankle) is set to miss time due to a fracture and Isaiah McKenzie remains in the concussion protocol, while depth receiver Jake Kumerow (ankle) is also sidelined for Sunday's contest against Pittsburgh. For the tight end position, Quintin Morris and Tommy Sweeney will work to fill in for Knox.
Oct 6, 2022
Missing another practice
Knox (foot/hamstring) remained sidelined during Thursday's practice, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Following back-to-back absences, what Knox is able to do in practice Friday will be telling will regard to his chances of being available Sunday against the Steelers. If he ends up missing the contest, Quintin Morris and Tommy Sweeney would be next in line for the Bills' Week 5 tight end snaps.
Oct 5, 2022
Misses practice Wednesday
Knox (foot/hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Heading into Week 4 action, Knox had been limited by back and hip issues, but the tight end suited up this past Sunday against the Ravens and recorded 48 snaps on offense while catching three of his six targets for 40 yards. Now that Knox is contending with a pair of new injuries, his status will need to be monitored ahead of this weekend's game against the Steelers.
Oct 2, 2022
Trio of grabs in Week 4 win
Knox secured three of six targets for 40 yards in the Bills' 23-20 win over the Ravens on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Knox recorded a season-long 20-yard grab for half his receiving yardage tally, putting together a serviceable effort despite battling back and hip issues coming in. The fourth-year tight end's involvement in the offense has been adequate -- he's produced a 12-111 line on 17 targets -- but more had been expected in terms of big plays from the athletic tight end this season. Knox's next opportunity to start delivering on some of those expectations comes against a team that's had trouble defending tight ends this season in the Steelers, which the Bills will face at home in Week 5.
Oct 2, 2022
In uniform Sunday
Knox (back/hip) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
After logging limited practices this week, Knox approached the contest listed as questionable, but he'll give it a go Sunday and barring any setbacks will continue to lead the Bills tight end corps versus the Ravens. Three games into the season, Knox has logged a modest 9/71 stat line (on 11 targets) and has yet to score a TD after reaching the end zone nine times during the 2021 campaign but working in his favor in Week 4 is that Knox will be facing a Baltimore defense that has allowed a league-high average of 353.3 passing yards and seven TDs through the air (including two to TEs) in three games to date.
Oct 2, 2022
Likely to play Week 4
Knox (back), officially listed as questionable, is likely to play Sunday against the Ravens, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox logged limited practices throughout the week but was listed on the injury report with both hip and back issues. Even if he plays, Knox has had a disappointing start to the 2022 season, in part due to his usage. He has run 28.3 routes per game early on this season, which is down from his mark of 32.4 in 2021. Knox has seen some of the effects of that decline, as he's collected only nine receptions for 71 yards across three matchups to begin the campaign.
Sep 30, 2022
Third straight limited showing
Knox (back) practiced on a limited basis Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Baltimore.
ANALYSIS
That's three limited showings for the starting tight end, so we'll assume he's on the better side of questionable for Sunday's game in Baltimore. Knox managers do get the benefit of a 1pm ET start time, so his status can be checked just to be safe. The tight end is still looking for his first trip to the end zone after getting there nine times in the 2021 regular season.
Sep 29, 2022
Another limited practice
Knox (back/hip)remained limited at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Knox tended to a foot issue ahead of Week 3 action, but now the tight end is listed with a back/hip concern. Following back-to-back limited practices, Knox will need to practice fully Friday in order to avoid approaching Sunday's game against the Ravens with an injury designation.
Sep 28, 2022
Set for limited practice
Knox (foot) will be limited at practice Wednesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox approached the Bills' Week 3 contest against the Dolphins listed as questionable, but the tight end suited up and logged 65 of a possible 92 snaps on offense, while catching all four of his targets for 25 yards. With no reported setbacks, it's possible Knox's looming Wednesday limitations are maintenance-related.
Sep 25, 2022
Four catches in Week 3 loss
Knox (foot) secured all four targets for 25 yards in the Bills' 21-19 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Knox worked through a foot issue this past week and then overcame heat-related cramping to put together a decent showing from a PPR standpoint. The third-year tight end now has back-to-back four-catch tallies, an encouraging development going into a Week 4 road showdown against the Ravens.
Sep 25, 2022
Back in action
Knox has returned to Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox briefly left in the second half due to heat related issues, but he's since returned. The tight end has caught all three of his targets for 20 yards and will look to continue his strong play in the fourth quarter.
Sep 25, 2022
Questionable to return
Knox is questionable to return Sunday against the Dolphins due to heat-related issues.
ANALYSIS
Per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network, it felt like 100 degrees right before kickoff and has had a significant impact on the players. Isaiah McKenzie is also questionable to return due to the same issue.
Sep 25, 2022
Active against Miami
Knox (foot) is active Week 3 against the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Knox failed to take the practice field Wednesday, but a pair of limited sessions the following two days will allow the tight end to suit up despite a "questionable" tag heading into Sunday's early slate. He'll now take the field as the presumed TE1 against a Miami defense that surrendered a 9/104/1 line to opposing tight end Mark Andrews a week ago.
Sep 23, 2022
Questionable against Dolphins
Knox (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Knox logged limited practice sessions Thursday and Friday after missing practice Wednesday on the heels of Monday's blowout win over Tennessee. If Buffalo's top tight end were to sit out against Miami, Quintin Morris and Tommy Sweeney would be called upon to fill Knox's shoes.
Sep 22, 2022
Logs limited practice
Knox (foot) returned to a limited practice Thursday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox missed Wednesday's session, but the tight end's return to the field Thursday bodes well for his chances of playing Sunday against the Dolphins. Friday's final injury report seems destined to relay whether he approaches the contest officially listed as questionable, or minus a Week 3 injury designation.
Sep 21, 2022
Dealing with foot injury
Knox was held out of Wednesday's practice with a foot injury, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox didn't appear limited in a 41-7 win over the Titans on Monday, finishing with five targets and 69 percent snap share in a game where he and other starters were pulled in the fourth quarter. However, he was seen at one point with the trainers looking at his while the defense was on the field. He'll have two more chances to practice before a Week 3 contest in Miami, with Tommy Sweeney and Quintin Morris the options to fill in as Buffalo's starting tight end if Knox doesn't end up playing.
Sep 21, 2022
Sees more looks in Week 2
Knox caught four of five targets for 41 yards in Monday's 41-7 victory over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Knox was more involved in Buffalo's gameplan in Week 2, garnering three more targets than the week before, including a couple looks in the red zone. The fourth year tight end figures to get more involved in the Bills' offense as the season goes on after he caught 49 passes for 587 yards and nine touchdowns in 2021. Knox will remain a solid fantasy option at tight end moving forward, especially if he continues to see looks close to the end zone.
Sep 9, 2022
Small role in big win
Knox caught one of two targets for five yards in Buffalo's season-opening win over the Rams on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
This is a disappointing performance given the Bills scored four offensive touchdowns and Josh Allen completed 26 passes, but Allen was hot Thursday and was able to find his wideouts all night long, reducing the necessity for a big target like Knox to move the chains. There will be better days than this for sure, as the newly extended tight end ($53.6 million) will be plenty involved when opposing defenses choose to show a different look than the Rams did Thursday.
Sep 7, 2022
To stay with Buffalo long term
Knox signed a four-year extension with the Bills on Wednesday, Chris Brown of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox is the clear-cut No. 1 tight end in a high-scoring offense, a fact made even more obvious after the Bills cut O.J. Howard last week. The deal is reportedly worth over $50 million with over $30 million guaranteed as the Bills try to preserve a championship-caliber team for the long haul. Knox is coming off a career-best season with highs in catches (49), yards (587) and TD receptions (9).
Aug 23, 2022
Back with team
Knox (personal) took part in Tuesday's practice, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox recently was away from the Bills due to the passing of his brother. Now that the tight end is back with the team, the fourth-year tight end will have one chance to make an appearance in the preseason Friday, Aug. 26 at Carolina prior to Week 1.
Aug 22, 2022
Set for return
Knox is expected to return from his personal leave and rejoin the team Tuesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox has been with his family following the tragic passing of his brother. Coach Sean McDermott has stated that the Bills will follow a timetable that is most comfortable for Knox, taking things one day at a time once he returns.
Jun 14, 2022
Returns to practice Tuesday
Knox (undisclosed) returned to practice Tuesday after not participating last week, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox was dealing with a minor injury during OTAs, but he appears to have moved past the issue and should be full-go for training camp. The 2019 third-round pick caught a career-high nine touchdowns last season, but he may face competition for targets in 2022 from the recently signed O.J. Howard.
Jun 7, 2022
Still not practicing
Knox (undisclosed) didn't participate in Tuesday's mandatory minicamp practice, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Knox was dealing with a minor injury during OTAs, so it appears his extended absence is merely precautionary. The 2019 third-round pick caught a career-high nine touchdowns last season, but he may face competition for targets in 2022 from recently-signed O.J. Howard.
May 24, 2022
Not practicing
Coach Sean McDermott said Knox is dealing with a minor injury, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports.
ANALYSIS
McDermott mentioned Knox and OL Spencer Brown when media members asked about injured players absent from practice. It doesn't sound like anything too serious for Knox, who could have some competition for snaps at tight end after the Bills signed O.J. Howard in March.
Feb 5, 2022
Breakthrough season
Knox finished his third NFL season with 49 catches on 71 targets for 587 yards and nine TD catches over 15 games.
ANALYSIS
Knox also found the end zone twice in the playoffs. His nine TD catches in the regular season tied for the league lead among tight ends and were the most for any TE in Bills franchise history. While the targets and yardage still fall short of the league's elite at the position, Knox may have outperformed every other TE in terms of outproducing his draft day value, which was pretty close to zero as an undrafted player in a number of leagues. As a 26-year-old with an elite quarterback locked into the system, Knox will probably be picked among the the top eight tight ends in almost every format next season.
Jan 16, 2022
Finds end zone twice in win
Knox secured all five targets for 89 yards and two touchdowns during the Bills' 47-17 win over the Patriots in an AFC wild-card matchup Saturday night.
ANALYSIS
The athletic tight end finished with team-leading reception, receiving yardage and target totals on what was a stellar fantasy night overall. Knox recorded scoring grabs of eight and 11 yards in the first quarter to get the Bills' offense off to a fast start, and he subsequently contributed a 38-yard catch as well. Knox's field-stretching prowess could well play a key role again in a divisional-round matchup versus either the Chiefs or Bengals next weekend.
Jan 10, 2022
Three grabs against Jets
Knox caught three of five targets for 49 yards in Sunday's 27-10 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
The tight end matched his yardage total from the prior three games combined, closing out the regular season with a solid performance. Knox set career highs across the board in 2021 with 49 catches on 71 targets for 587 yards and nine TDs through 15 games, and he should be a reliable secondary target for Josh Allen on Saturday as the Bills host the Patriots in the wild-card round.
Dec 25, 2021
Chance to shine?
Knox's role could take on greater importance Sunday with wide receivers Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis both ruled out while in the COVID-19 protocols.
ANALYSIS
Knox is normally a big part of the offense anyway, but with two of the team's top five receiving options out, expect him to see a high target volume in the most important game of the season for the Bills. While the increased opportunity will be nice for managers needing a big game out of the third-year tight end, it's worth noting the Patriots have the league's third-best past defense, plus there's a chance of wind and snow for the game.
Dec 20, 2021
Modest output in ho-hum win
Knox caught four of five targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 31-14 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
This actually qualifies as a disappointment for Knox, who probably helped put many of his managers in a playoff position this season. The third-year tight end has eight TD catches this season, but Josh Allen's three TD passes on the day in Sundays win all went to wideouts. Knox had a drop on his only missed target that would have put his yardage in more palatable territory. He'll get a tough matchup next week when the Bills travel to New England in what should be another tightly contested game.
Dec 12, 2021
Back in end zone during loss
Knox brought in seven of nine targets for 60 yards and a touchdown in the Bills' 33-27 overtime loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The emerging 25-year-old pushed his league-leading touchdown totals among tight ends to eight with his 15-yard scoring grab early in the fourth quarter. The third-year pro also a critical 24-yard reception on the Bills' game-tying drive late in the fourth quarter, pushing the ball to the Buccaneers' 15-yard line to help set up an eventual Tyler Bass game-tying field goal. Knox takes a four-game multi-reception streak into a Week 15 home matchup against the Panthers.
Dec 7, 2021
Rough showing in primetime
Knox caught just two of six targets for 14 yards in Monday's 14-10 loss to the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Knox had issues with the dropsies in his first two NFL seasons, but he's been much more reliable in his breakout 2021 season. However, his performance was frustrating to watch for Bills Mafia on Monday, as it was clear he was supposed to be a key part to the game plan on a blustery night that yielded nothing but a run-oriented attack and short passes. Knox took at least one key penalty and also couldn't haul in catchable balls. On a normal night for the tight end, something like a 5-55-1line would have easily happened, but the reality was Knox's worst performance of the season in a disappointing loss for his team. Based on his track record in 2021, Knox should be much better in what could be a high-scoring affair Sunday at Tampa Bay.
Nov 26, 2021
Finds end zone twice Thursday
Knox brought in all three targets for 32 yards and two touchdowns in the Bills' 31-6 win over the Saints on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
The athletic tight end made excellent use of his scant opportunities, recording scoring grabs of seven and 24 yards in the first and third quarter, respectively. Knox now has a career-high seven touchdowns and new high-water marks in receptions (31) and receiving yards (415) as well following Thursday night's effort, sending him into a Week 13 showdown with the Patriots on Monday night, Dec. 6 with plenty of momentum.
Nov 21, 2021
Season-high 10 targets in loss
Knox caught six of 10 targets for 80 yards in Sunday's 41-15 loss to the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Knox set season highs in catches and targets while posting his second-highest yardage total of the campaign. The tight end hasn't found the end zone since Week 5 after scoring five touchdowns through five games, but that scoring drought won't last much longer if Knox's involvement here is any indication of his upcoming usage. Knox will be right back out there Thursday for a Thanksgiving showdown with the Saints.
Nov 15, 2021
Low action in return
Knox, who returned from a two-game absence due to a fracture in his hand, caught his only target for 17 yards in Sunday's 45-17 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
The output is disappointing in a game where Josh Allen threw for 366 yards, but at least Knox didn't have any setbacks and he did look like his rumbling self on the 17-yard pickup. He should see more looks in the offense as he moves past the injury and as the Bills' schedule starts to get tougher, beginning next week with a home game against the Colts.
Nov 11, 2021
Logs full practice Thursday
Knox (hand) practiced fully Thursday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After logging a limited session Wednesday, the tight end returned to a full practice Thursday, which sets the stage for him to rejoin the Bills' lineup Sunday against the Jets. Prior to suffering a fractured hand in Week 6, the 2019 third-rounder was in the midst of a breakout season that had him firmly on the fantasy radar, having put up 21/286/5 stat line to that point.
Nov 10, 2021
Limited in practice
Knox (hand) will be limited in Wednesday's practice, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox has resumed practicing for the first time since suffering a broken bone in his hand Oct. 19, for which he quickly underwent surgery. If Knox is able to at least maintain a similar level of practice activity over the next two days, he could have a fair shot at suiting up for Sunday's road matchup against the Jets. In the event that Knox does return Week 10, Tommy Sweeney will stand to bump back down to a backup role.
Nov 8, 2021
Should practice Wednesday
Bills head coach Sean McDermott said he expects Knox (hand) to resume practicing Wednesday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox hasn't been able to practice in any capacity since suffered a broken bone in his hand in an Oct. 19 loss to the Titans and undergoing surgery a day later, but he appeared to take a meaningful step forward last Thursday, when he was seen catching passes off to the side while working with trainers, according to Heather Prusak of News 4 Buffalo. The tight end looks like he'll be able to take part in team drills in the coming days, and if all goes well, he should have a good shot to suit up Week 10 against the Jets. Tommy Sweeney picked up a pair of starts at tight end while Knox has been sidelined and has produced a modest 5-40-0 receiving line on six targets.
Nov 5, 2021
Won't play Sunday
Coach Sean McDermott said Knox (hand) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Jacksonville, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox is recovering from surgery on his hand and will be sidelined for the second consecutive game. Tommy Sweeney, who caught three passes for 30 yards Week 8, is poised to lead Buffalo's group of tight ends again Sunday versus the Jaguars.
Nov 4, 2021
Misses another practice
Knox (hand) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox, who is bouncing back from a hand procedure, is considered day-to-day, but back-to-back practice absences cloud his status for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. If he's unable to gain clearance to play this weekend, Tommy Sweeney would once again be in line to head the Bills' tight end corps in Week 9.
Nov 3, 2021
Won't practice Wednesday
Coach Sean McDermott said Wednesday that Knox (hand) will not participate in practice, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
McDermott said Monday that Knox is day-to-day and has been improving, but the starting tight end still isn't ready to resume handling practice reps. Knox, who is recovering from hand surgery, will have two more chances to practice in at least a limited capacity ahead of Sunday's contest against the Jaguars. If Knox isn't able to retake the field Week 9, Tommy Sweeney will once again stand to handle the No. 1 tight end reps.
Nov 1, 2021
Considered day to day
Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Monday that Knox (hand) is improving and is viewed as day to day, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After fracturing his hand in a Week 6 win over the Titans, Knox underwent surgery soon after and wasn't available for Sunday's win over the Dolphins, even with the benefit of the Bills being on bye Week 7. Though Knox seems to be healing as expected, McDermott wouldn't promise that the tight end would be available to practice this week. Knox would likely need to get back on the field as at least a limited practice participant by Friday to have a legitimate shot at suiting up next weekend in Jacksonville. Tommy Sweeney served as the primary replacement for Knox in Week 8, recording three receptions for 30 yards on four targets.
Oct 27, 2021
To miss Week 8
Knox, who recently had surgery on his hand, is out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
It would have been a surprise if the emerging tight end was able to return so soon, but the the Bills are holding out hope that Knox will only miss limited action, as he hasn't been placed on injured reserve yet. Tommy Sweeney is set to handle the receiving routes from the tight end spot against Miami, while the Bills seem sure to sign a free agent or promote someone to serve as depth in Week 8.
Oct 20, 2021
Gets surgery on broken hand
Knox underwent successful surgery Tuesday to repair his fractured hand is expected to miss a few weeks, Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network report.
ANALYSIS
Even with Buffalo on bye Week 7, Knox appears destined to miss at least some game action after suffering a broken bone in his hand during Monday's 34-31 loss to the Titans. The Bills haven't offered up a specific timeline for their top tight end's return, but Garofolo notes that the team has hope Knox "won't be out for long." A better indication of when Knox might play again could come when the Bills resume practicing Week 8, but expect the team to head into its next contest Oct. 31 against the Dolphins with Tommy Sweeney as its primary option at tight end. Kahale Warring is also likely to elevated from the practice squad to provide another healthy body at the position.
Oct 19, 2021
Broken bone in hand
Knox suffered a broken bone in his hand during Monday's 34-31 loss to the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Knox was able to handle some plays after suffering the injury, including throwing a two-point conversion to Josh Allen, but it looks like it's possible he could need to miss time. The Bills will enjoy a bye Week 7 before taking on Miami on Oct. 31, so Knox will at least benefit from extra time to rest up.
Oct 18, 2021
Downgraded to out
Knox (hand) has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's game against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
The severity of Knox's injury is unknown at this time, but it's serious enough to hold him out for the final quarter of Monday's matchup. He was spotted walking to the locker room and was officially ruled out shortly after. Tommy Sweeney will get more looks at tight end as a result.
Oct 18, 2021
Questionable to return
Knox is questionable to return to Monday night's game against the Titans due to a hand injury.
ANALYSIS
Knox appeared to suffer the injury at the end of the third quarter. It would be a significant blow for the Bills if he's unable to return down the stretch, as he's emerged as one of Josh Allen's favorite targets so far this season.
Oct 9, 2021
Opportunity Knox
Knox, who has four touchdowns over the last three games, faces the Chiefs' 27th-ranked pass defense Sunday night.
ANALYSIS
The Kansas City defense has struggled against tight ends, giving up an average of 6.5 catches and 85 yards per game to tight ends, as noted by Chris Brown of the Bills' official site. With Knox dominating the receiving role at his position -- 20 targets to just two for backup Tommy Sweeney -- his floor should be pretty high this week considering the Bills will probably try to move the chains and keep Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill off the field as much as possible. Knox went 6-42-1 against the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, his best performance in a disappointing season but one that may have provided a sneak peek ar some of the success the team is having utilizing him this season.

Two more touchdowns
Knox recorded five receptions on eight targets for 37 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's Week 4 win over the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Knox finished second on the team with eight targets and continued to serve a key role in the red zone. The performance marked the first multi-touchdown performance of his career, and he's now found the end zone in three consecutive contests. Kox tallied the first score of the game on a 25-yard reception late in the opening quarter and later hit pay dirt again on a one-yard catch with 14 minutes remaining in the game. Though Knox's scoring pace isn't likely to continue, he has logged at least four receptions in three of four contests this season.
Sep 27, 2021
Back-to-back scoring weeks
Knox caught four of five targets for 49 yards and a touchdown in Buffalo's win over Washington on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Knox had his best yardage and target week in the victory in what's starting to shape up as a breakout campaign. He won't be a fantasy star on this team in 2021 -- that's for Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs -- but the ever-evolving Buffalo offense has started to feature the tight end this season and Knox is pretty much the only one in his position group going out on pass routes. In deeper leagues, he's worth consideration.
Sep 20, 2021
First score of campaign
Knox caught two of three targets for 17 yards in Sunday's win over the Dolphins, including an eight-yard touchdown.
ANALYSIS
The TD gives Knox his second decent fantasy day of the young season, at least in terms pertaining to depth tight ends. Teams seem to be covering stud wideouts Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley a bit more aggressively than last season, so the Bills found success Sunday using secondary options such as Knox and Devin Singletary. For the second straight week, Knox was the only Buffalo tight end to catch a pass, and he was on the field for 83 percent of the offensive snaps.
Sep 13, 2021
Modest, efficient production
Knox caught all four of his targets for 41 yards in Sunday's loss to the Steelers
ANALYSIS
While Knox isn't exactly Travis Kelce out there even though he has shown some nice athleticism, this is actually a decent start considering the yardage total would have been his second best during the 2020 regular season. If he can get into the end zone with some regularity, there's deep-league value to be found, as Knox has almost no competition in his position group for targets and can serve as an option if opponents try to take away too much from Buffalo's productive receivers group. Knox was the only Buffalo tight end to see a target Sunday. It's also worth noting that he caught all four balls thrown his way, as drops have been an issue for the third-year tight end in the past.
Aug 21, 2021
Targeted twice
Knox recorded one reception on two targets for 10 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Knox made his lone catch of the game on the team's first offensive drive. He was limited otherwise and has now recorded one reception in each of the team's first two preseason games. Knox recorded 24 receptions for 288 yards and three touchdowns across 12 games in his second professional season in 2020. Given that Stefon Diggs, Emmanuel Sanders, Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis are likely to command targets ahead of him, Knox is unlikely to see a significant uptick in targets in 2021.

Eyeing bigger role
Knox, who's had an up-and-down start to his career since being drafted in the third round in 2019, heads into the 2021 campaign as the clear starter at tight end and has spent extra time working with quarterback Josh Allen in California this offseason as well as a hand-eye trainer, all in an effort to take his game to a higher level, Marcel-Louis Jacques of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
General manager Brandon Beane has been critical of the lack of production from the tight end group, to the point where Buffalo seemed a likely destination for Philadelphia's Zach Ertz this offseason. After not drafting a tight end, the Bills now seem prepared to play out the season with Knox, free-agent signee Jacob Hollister and Tommy Sweeney. While the latter two guys will have depth roles, it's clear that Knox will be the pass-catching threat in a high-powered offense. He's had opportunities in the past with mixed results, as a lack of polish in his routes and the occasional bouts with the "dropsies" seem to always offset some of the Gronk-type plays he's capable of making. If Knox can sharpen up his game to match the work he's been putting in while moving past some of the injury issues (he's been hurt on a few occasions and also was out for a spell due to COVID-19 last season), he could prove to be a nice sleeper candidate at tight end. That said, this will always be an offense that relies heavily on its

Finds end zone in playoff loss
Knox hauled in six of eight targets for 42 yards and a touchdown Sunday in the Bills' 38-24 loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
ANALYSIS
Though the Bills ultimately weren't able to keep pace with the high-octane Kansas City offense, Knox did his part to stake Buffalo to an early 9-0 lead. His three-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter was his second score of the postseason, continuing his late-season trend of being a key weapon for quarterback Josh Allen in the red zone. Knox failed to find paydirt through the first 11 weeks of the season before he scored five times in the Bills' final nine games (including playoffs), drawing 12 red-zone looks during that stretch. The Bills are unlikely to add much competition at the position through the draft, free agency or trade market this offseason, so Knox should retain his spot atop the depth chart entering the 2021 campaign.
Jan 6, 2021
Quiet Week 17 outing
Knox caught two of eight targets for 29 yards in Sunday's win over the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Drops have been a problem for Knox in his two years in the league, but none of the six misfires Sunday fell into that category. While Knox never eclipsed 51 receiving yards this season, he's become the clear No. 1 tight end for the Bills and has at least four targets in each of the past five games. With Cole Beasley (knee) looking iffy for Saturday's playoff game, Knox could be counted on even more in the short-to-mid passing game.
Dec 29, 2020
Posts season-high 51 yards
Knox secured three of four targets for 51 yards during Monday night's 38-9 win against the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Buffalo dominated through the air during a Week 16 drubbing of the Patriots, with Knox finishing as the team's No. 2 receiver on a night that consisted of 320 passing yards and four passing scores from Josh Allen. Lee Smith hauled in one of the TDs, and star wideout Stefon Diggs the other three, as Knox remains with three scores of his own on the season (all coming since Week 12). A regular-season finale against Miami's top-ranked scoring defense will be challenging, especially with the unit having surrendered the eighth-fewest receptions to opposing tight ends on the year.
Dec 19, 2020
Snags TD in AFC East-clinching win
Knox caught two of four targets for 36 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's 48-19 win against the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Knox had to exit Buffalo's Week 15 win because of a stinger, though he was capable of returning to the contest while tying a season high in receiving yards. After going scoreless over his first six appearances of the season, the Ole Miss product has proceeded to go on a tear by posting a trio of TDs over his past four games. 11 targets over the past two outings represent the most in a two-game span over the 24-year-old's career. A Week 16 matchup against New England has the potential to thwart Knox's recent uptick in production, as New England has surrendered an NFL-low one receiving TD to opposing tight ends.
Dec 19, 2020
Returns to action
Knox returned to Saturday's game against the Broncos after suffering a stinger in the first half.
ANALYSIS
Good news for the Bills, as Knox is the only pass-catching tight end in an offense that's been humming on all cylinders lately. We would not be surprised if Knox sees some rest during next week's practices.
Dec 19, 2020
Suffers stringer Saturday
Knox is questionable to return to Saturday's game against the Broncos due to a stinger, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox suffered a similar injury in the Week 14 win over the Steelers, so this is certainly a concern for him and the Bills. With backup Tyler Kroft inactive again, the Bills will be down to blocker Lee Smith if Knox is unable to return. He did score the Bills' first touchdown of the afternoon, so no matter what the game is not a total loss for his managers.
Dec 15, 2020
Second biggest yardage game of 2020
Knox secured four of seven targets for 34 yards during Sunday's win over the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Knox suffered a stinger in the game but returned after a brief absence and should be OK to play in Week 15, even if the Bills take it easy on him in practice this week. With Tyler Kroft being made an inactive once again, Knox ended up being a key part of the game plan and made a few big plays in the win. The second-year tight end still needs to work on better reeling in the passes thrown his way -- Knox also lost a fumble in the contest -- but we wouldn't be surprised if this type of workload becomes more standard down the stretch.
Dec 13, 2020
Returns to SNF
Knox (neck) returned to Sunday's game against the Steelers, Ryan Talbot of NewYorkupstate.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox came back in late in the third quarter after suffering a stinger just after halftime and caught a pass. He'll continue to top Buffalo's depth chart at tight end while healthy.
Dec 13, 2020
Suffers stinger
Knox (neck) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Steelers, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox suffered a stinger early in the third quarter. With Tyler Kroft (coach's decision) inactive, Lee Smith is the only healthy tight end left for the Bills while Knox battles this injury.
Dec 8, 2020
Best game of 2020
Knox caught all four of his targets for 27 yards and a score in Buffalo's win over the 49ers on Monday.
ANALYSIS
The second-year tight end almost got in a second time but was stopped just short of the goal line. It brings hope that he's starting to be used regularly near the end zone. While Knox still has a long way to go to earn fantasy trust -- the 27-yard outing was actually his second-highest output of the season -- teammate Tyler Kroft was inactive once again and Knox has become the clear leader of the Buffalo tight end group. While he's still down in the pecking order, Knox could continue seeing a fair amount of looks like Monday as the Buffalo offense continues to hum.
Nov 29, 2020
Makes one catch count
Knox snagged his only target for a two-yard score in Buffalo's 27-17 win over the Chargers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
This could have been a much better day for the second-year tight end, as fellow position mate Tyler Kroft was inactive for the contest, while Knox caught his TD on the team's opening drive. However, that was the last time Josh Allen looked his way. Knox became the 12th different Bills player with a TD catch this season, but that in itself tells you a lot about how many weapons the Bills have and how far down the pecking order the tight end position lies. Knox has yet to catch more than two balls in a game this season.
Nov 19, 2020
Nothing doing despite larger role
Knox caught two of four targets for 16 yards during Sunday's 32-30 loss to the Cardinals
ANALYSIS
Knox saw a season-high 70 percent of offensive snaps last weekend while fellow tight end Tyler Kroft was on the reserve/COVID-19 list, but he wasn't able to parlay that opportunity into much fantasy production. The 2019 third-round pick is having a disappointing sophomore season, as he has yet to score or surpass 36 yards in any of his six appearances. Kroft has already managed to return from the COVID-19 list during Buffalo's bye week, a development that essentially bumps Knox off the fantasy radar.
Nov 15, 2020
In line for extra targets?
Knox's teammate Tyler Kroft has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list and won't play in Sunday's game at Arizona.
ANALYSIS
This pretty much ensures that Knox will be out there for any set that requires a tight end serving as a wide receiver. Knox has had all sorts of his own issues this season between a concussion, calf injury and his own positive COVID-19 diagnosis, but if there's ever going to be a week for him to get going, this would be the candidate. Buffalo and Arizona feature two of the league's best offenses to date, so the contest has some shootout potential.
Nov 8, 2020
Ready to go Sunday
Knox (calf) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old was considered questionable for Sunday's contest while continuing to battle the calf issue, but he'll be suiting up against Seattle. Knox should work as Buffalo's No. 1 tight end with Tyler Kroft the next man up should he be limited or aggravate the injury.
Nov 6, 2020
Questionable for Week 9
Knox (calf) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Though Knox returned from reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, he remained limited in back-to-back practices due to the calf injury that sidelined him back in Week 6. Given that Knox hasn't practiced fully since suffering the injury Oct. 13, the Bills may be hesitant to keep him active in Week 9. If Knox is ultimately sidelined or limited Sunday, Tyler Kroft would likely serve as the Bills' top tight end.
Nov 6, 2020
Limited in Thursday's practice
Knox (calf) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Ten days after testing positive for COVID-19, Knox was cleared to rejoin the Bills for practice after he completed a quarantine period that included two consecutive negative test results. Though Knox no longer resides on the reserve/COVID-19 list, he's apparently still troubled by the calf injury that kept him sidelined for the Bills' Week 6 loss to the Chiefs. The tight end may need to upgrade to full participation in Friday's practice to avoid carrying a designation into Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Nov 5, 2020
Back to practice
Knox (calf/illness) has returned to practice, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.
ANALYSIS
If Knox is back with his teammates, that means he must be cleared COVID-19 protocols after being diagnosed with the virus prior to Week 7. His original issue was a calf injury, so we'll see how he works through the rest of the practice week before assessing the likelihood of him returning to action Sunday against the Seahawks. The Bills have received very little tight end production all season, and it's reached a low point with Knox out of the lineup.
Nov 4, 2020
Not practicing to start week
Knox (calf/illness) isn't practicing Wednesday, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox is on the reserve/COVID-19 list, though he'll be eligible to come off once 10 days have passed since his last negative test. The tight end was battling a calf injury at the time of his placement on the list, so he'll have multiple issues to heal up from before he's able to practice again.
Oct 24, 2020
Tests positive for COVID-19
Knox (calf) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday after testing positive, the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox was already going to miss Sunday's game against the Jets due to his calf injury, so perhaps the bigger issue is that the team's tight end room is almost completely depleted, as fellow tight ends Lee Smith, Tommy Sweeney (currently on PUP list), and practice squad player Nate Becker have been defined to have been in close contact with Knox. They have all been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list and cannot take Knox's place in Sunday's game.
Oct 23, 2020
Will miss Week 7
Knox (calf) has been declared out for Sunday's game at the Jets, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
This was expected all along with Knox not practicing all week. Tyler Kroft will get a few extra looks in the passing game this week, while Knox will set his sights on a big Week 8 contest against the Patriots.
Oct 22, 2020
Misses Thursday's session
Knox (calf) was Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox was ruled out pretty early ahead of Monday's game against the Chiefs and hasn't been able to practice in any capacity this week. Unless he's able to make a surprise return to practice Friday, expect him to be ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Jets.
Oct 21, 2020
Still not practicing
Knox (calf) didn't practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Knox still hasn't practiced since sustaining his calf injury in Week 5 against the TItans. He'll need to heal up in a hurry to have a chance to suit up Sunday against the Jets, with Tyler Kroft set to serve as Buffalo's top tight end should Knox sit out again.
Oct 17, 2020
Out for Week 6
Knox (calf) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Chiefs, the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox was never much of an option to play after leaving Tuesday's game against the Titans and not practicing all week.
Oct 16, 2020
Another DNP
Knox (calf) did not practice for the second straight day Friday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
While the Bills' starting tight end has the benefit of an extra day this week given the Monday night matchup, his status is looking very much in doubt at this stage. Tyler Kroft isn't a bad pickup in deeper formats if Knox does get officially ruled out.
Oct 15, 2020
Misses practice Thursday
Knox (calf) won't practice Thursday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox was forced out of this past Tuesday's loss to the Titans and his non-participation in Thursday's jog-through suggests that he's not a lock to play Monday against the Chiefs. If he's out or limited in Week 6, Tyler Kroft would be in line to see added pass-catching opportunities versus Kansas City.
Oct 13, 2020
Injures calf Tuesday
Knox was forced out of Tuesday's game versus the Titans with a calf injury.
ANALYSIS
Knox left the game in the second half after catching one of three targets for 15 yards. Tyler Kroft should handle a hefty workload the rest of the game since he's the Bills' only remaining tight end.
Oct 5, 2020
Low production in return
Knox caught two of three targets for 16 yards during Sunday's win in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Knox only played 48 percent of the offensive snaps after missing Week 3 with a concussion. Backup Tyler Kroft was on the field for 33 percent of those snaps and was also targeted three times, hauling in just one for 12 yards. Knox remains the starter and is the more talented player, but with Buffalo's wide receivers playing so well to go with running back Devin Singletary's involvement in the passing game, the tight end could be a hit-or-miss option for much of the season.
Oct 1, 2020
Seemingly over concussion problem
Knox (concussion) practiced fully for the second straight day Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Knox missed last week's game against the Rams, but he looks like a good bet to resume his starting role this week against the Raiders. It's at least worth noting that Tyler Kroft caught two TD passes in Knox's absence in Week 3, so while Knox is still the starter and more athletic player, it may not be that easy for the Bills to take Kroft completely out of the game plan right away.
Sep 30, 2020
Back to work
Knox, who missed last week's game against the Rams due to a concussion, is initially listed as a full practice participant Wednesday, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
If Knox is starting the week with a practice, he would seem a likely bet to be mostly out of the concussion protocol, if not fully cleared already. Expect to see him back in action this week against the Raiders, though he might have to earn some looks back after Buffalo's other tight ends combined for three TD catches from Josh Allen in the Week 3 win.
Sep 25, 2020
Won't play Sunday
Knox (concussion) was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rams, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old suffered the concussion during last Sunday's win over the Dolphins and has been unable to practice this week. Knox remains in the concussion protocol and will need to fully clear it before returning to game action. Tyler Kroft is without a catch through two games this season but is likely to start at tight end for the Bills in Week 3.
Sep 24, 2020
Absent from practice
Knox (concussion) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Knox remains in the NFL's concussion protocol and hasn't been on the field for either of the Bills' first two practices of Week 3. Unless he's cleared to take some contact at practice Friday, Knox currently looks to be trending toward an absence in Sunday's game against the Rams. Tyler Kroft, who played 51 percent of the offensive snaps in the Week 2 win over Miami without drawing a target, would be in line to start at tight end Sunday if Knox is inactive.
Sep 23, 2020
Sits out Wednesday's practice
Knox (concussion) didn't practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Knox starts his week off with a missed practice after suffering a concussion in last week's win over the Dolphins. The tight end will need to clear concussion protocol prior to Sunday's game against the Rams, or the Bills will be down to Tyler Kroft and Reggie Gilliam at the position in Week 3.
Sep 20, 2020
Suffers concussion Sunday
Knox won't return to Sunday's game versus the Dolphins after suffering a concussion.
ANALYSIS
Knox reeled in a 38-yard reception before leaving the game and entering concussion protocol. Tyler Kroft and Reggie Gilliam will handle the reps at tight end for the remainder of Sunday's contest.
Sep 15, 2020
Low volume in win
Knox caught two of three targets for 26 yards in Sunday's win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
The good news is that Knox received two red-zone looks and played 64 percent of the offensive snaps while no other Bills tight end saw more than five percent. He'll have a chance to make more of a dent in the scoresheet against the Dolphins in Week 2, though with Stefon Diggs, John Brown, Cole Beasley, Devin Singletary and Zack Moss all in the fold, all while quarterback Josh Allen likes to run the ball, it's going to be difficult for Knox to see his production elevated to the level of the league's top tight ends.
Sep 9, 2020
Buffalo's top tight end
Knox is listed as the first tight end on the first unofficial depth chart released by the Bills' web site Thursday.
ANALYSIS
We're not exactly sure if the team will come out with an "official" depth chart ahead of Week 1, but it's clear Knox is expected to get the biggest share of tight end snaps for now, over Tyler Kroft and blocker Lee Smith. Knox has the game to build off his 28-388-2 line from his rookie season, but at the same time he's got a now healthy Kroft to share reps with, plus the Bills have star wideout Stefon Diggs in the mix.
Aug 15, 2020
Impressing OC
Offensive coordinator Brian Daboll has been impressed with how Knox and tight ends coach Rob Boras have worked together so far in training camp."Dawson has done a really good job," Daboll told Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site this week. So Rob [Boras] does a good job meeting extra with them. He's a young player still, really young. Hopefully we get more out of him this year. I know he's working hard to do that."
ANALYSIS
Knox will be competing with veteran Tyler Kroft for looks in the Buffalo offense. Knox, a second-year player, has the better athletic skills and more upside, so we'll see if he can keep chugging along the learning curve and take the top job to himself instead of having to share it with Kroft.
Jul 9, 2020
Rarin' to go Year 2
Knox has been working on things this offseason that will help him reduce his number of dropped passes in 2020, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports. "I think a big piece of it is going to be his availability and his consistency," said head coach Sean McDermott this week. "Sometimes what you see the first year is the lack of at times consistency, and I think Dawson is aware of that and he's committed to developing to the point where that becomes a strength of his and we're here to help him with it
ANALYSIS
Knox had the NFL's worst drop rate (12 percent) among tight end qualifiers in 2019 and his 56 percent catch rate was pretty terrible, though you can't just look at those numbers and say he had a bad season. To the contrary, he filled a major hole after starter Tyler Kroft suffered a broken foot before the season. Knox finished with a 28/388/2 line, far better than his initial projections. He will likely be competing with Kroft -- who returned toward the end of the season -- for the bigger role in Buffalo's offense this season, but the former is the guy with the bigger upside if he can win the job outright, or even cause the Bills to think about cutting Kroft in a potential cost-cutting move. Knox is worth watching as he continues to get more familiar with the NFL game -- it's worth noting he started his career ay Ole Miss as a quarterback -- as well as offensive coordinator Brian Daboll's system.
Jan 26, 2020
Strong rookie season
Knox caught 28 of 50 targets for 388 yards and two scores during his rookie campaign.
ANALYSIS
Knox was picked in the third round as more of a project type and had been expected to serve as the backup to free-agent signee Tyler Kroft, but Kroft struggled with injuries and Knox ended becoming the starter for much of the season. While the Mississippi product struggled a bit with drops, he also showed a knack for big plays and an ability to rumble for yards after the catch. Kroft is healthy again, but Knox offers more upside and for now a better rapport with quarterback Josh Allen, so there's a chance he gets to take the starter's job and run with it in 2020.
Nov 15, 2019
No injury tag for Week 11
Knox (knee) practiced fully Friday and does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game in Miami, the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, the issue turned out to be a minor one for the rookie, and he should be full-go for this week's contest as the Bills try to maintain the top wild-card spot in the playoff chase. While a finally healthy Tyler Kroft may take away some of Knox's targets, it didn't play out that way last week, where Knox posted season highs in receptions (4) and targets (6). Until Kroft starts getting more involved, Knox can be considered the team's top fantasy tight end, albeit in an inconsistent passing offense.
Nov 15, 2019
Back at practice
Knox (knee) returned to practice Friday,Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Some minor knee soreness caused the tight end to sit out Thursday's practice, but Knox's return to the field Friday suggests that he'll be a go Sunday against the Dolphins. The Bills' final injury report of the week figures to either list Knox as questionable for the contest, or clear him fully.
Oct 4, 2019
Kroft out again
Knox's teammate Tyler Kroft will miss Week 5 against the Titans due to an ankle injury.
ANALYSIS
Knox has really been making his mark in Knox's absence, taking over as the starting pass-catching tight end while catching three balls each of the last two weeks, including his first NFL touchdown in Week 3. Knox was on the field for a season-high 65 percent of the offensive plays last week against the Patriots -- expect a similar workload this week with a handful of targets.
Sep 27, 2019
Kroft unlikely for Week 4
Knox's teammate Tyler Kroft (ankle) did not practice again Friday and is unlikely to suit up for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
That will make Knox the starter yet again following a week where he posted a 3-67-1 line, including a huge Shockey-like play where he trucked over a couple of Bengals on the Bills' finale and go-ahead touchdown drive. Keep in mind Knox only has 10 targets through three games, so while his rookie season is progressing nicely, there will still be weeks where he puts up low production, plus he could take a back seat to Kroft if the veteran ever gets fully healthy.
