Returns to Bills
Buffalo signed Gore to its practice squad Wednesday, Alec White of the team's official site reports.

Gore was waived by the Bills on cutdown day Tuesday, but he's remaining with the organization on the practice squad. The 23-year-old will look to earn a chance on the active roster at some point during the season for what would be his NFL regular-season debut.

Cut by Buffalo

Staying in Buffalo
The Bills signed Gore to a reserve/future contract Monday.
ANALYSIS
The undrafted rookie from Southern Mississippi spent his 2024 campaign with the Bills' practice squad after failing to make the active roster in late August. Gore was elevated to the active roster for Buffalo's Week 6 win over the Jets but did not play a single snap. He's now expected to compete for a reserve role in the Bills' backfield this summer, aiming to make his regular-season NFL debut in 2025.

Back with Bills' practice squad
Gore reverted to the Bills' practice squad Wednesday, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
The rookie was elevated to Buffalo's active roster Monday to ensure depth at running back with James Cook (toe) missing the Bills' Week 6 win over the Jets. Gore could be brought back to Buffalo's active roster again in Week 7 if Cook is unable to play through his toe issue for the second consecutive week.

Elevated from practice squad
The Bills have elevated Gore from their practice squad ahead of Monday night's game against the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Top back James Cook (toe) is listed as questionable for the contest, so Gore gives the Bills added backfield depth should Cook be limited or out Monday. Also in the team's Week 6 running back mix are Ty Johnson and Ray Davis.

Gets practice squad spot
The Bills are re-signing Gore (knee) to the practice squad Wednesday, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Gore dealt with a knee injury down the stretch of training camp, but it looks like the undrafted rookie out of Southern Miss no longer has an injury designation. The clear top man in Buffalo's backfield is James Cook, with Ray Davis and Ty Johnson locked in for the top reserve spots. Darrynton Evans (hamstring) will also handle a depth role once back from IR, so Gore lacks a clear path to activation from the practice squad, barring injuries, but he certainly showed enough during the preseason to warrant a chance to continue his development.

Cut by Buffalo
The Bills waived Gore (knee) on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The son of longtime NFL running back Frank Gore, Gore went undrafted out of Southern Miss back in April before signing with the Bills. He was impressive during the preseason, rushing for 163 yards and one touchdown on 33 carries while adding four grabs for an additional 16 yards as a pass-catcher. It wasn't enough to claim a 53-man roster spot behind James Cook and fourth-round rookie Ray Davis, but there's a good chance Gore is either claimed or lands a job on a practice squad.

Getting X-rays on knee
Gore is scheduled to undergo X-rays after injuring his knee during Saturday's preseason game against Carolina, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Gore was having a tremendous outing in the Bills' preseason finale, racking up 101 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries before suffering the knee injury. He has been competing against Ray Davis, Ty Johnson and Darrynton Evans (hamstring) for the backup running back job behind James Cook. The results of the X-rays will be a crucial indication of whether Gore ends up making Buffalo's final 53-man roster at the conclusion of training camp.

Out with knee injury
Gore (knee) is out for the rest of Saturday's preseason game against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
The undrafted rookie was having himself a day before leaving late in the game, carrying the ball 18 times for 101 yards and a touchdown before exiting. Gore is fighting for a roster spot on a thin running back depth chart behind starter James Cook. The son of longtime NFL back Frank Gore recorded 4,022 yards and 26 touchdowns during a four-year college career at Southern Miss. Making matters worse for the Bills, fellow running back Darrynton Evans suffered a hamstring injury prior to Gore's injury and also had to leave the contest.
