With David Njoku (knee) sidelined, an elevated workload was expected for Fannin. While the rookie did lead the Browns across the board in receptions, receiving yards and targets, all three numbers were modest on an afternoon where Dillon Gabriel threw for only 116 yards. Fannin does have clear chemistry with his fellow rookie, however, keeping him in play for a Week 8 road matchup against the Patriots.

Fannin could see additional opportunities Sunday against the Dolphins, as Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that David Njoku (knee) has been ruled out.

Fannin has been productive while splitting targets at tight end with Njoku, as the rookie third-round pick out of Bowling Green has two seven-catch performances among his first six NFL games. Fannin could be even busier in Njoku's absence against a Dolphins defense that's one of six units with more than 400 yards allowed to tight ends this season.

Fannin recorded seven receptions on 10 targets for 81 yards in Sunday's 23-9 loss to the Steelers.

Fannin continued to showcase rapport with Dillon Gabriel, as he led the Browns in receptions and yards. He did do the majority of his damage with the Steelers playing conservative defense in the fourth quarter, with 56 of Fannin's yards coming with the Browns down multiple scores. Even with that context, the rapport between Fannin and Gabriel is clear, as Fannin has 11 catches for 94 yards and a touchdown combined between the last two games.

Fannin recorded four receptions on four targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 21-17 loss to the Vikings.

Fannin had a mixed performance in Dillon Gabriel's first game under center. He was overshadowed by David Njoku -- who led the team with nine targets -- but was a reliable short-area target for Gabriel. Fannin accounted for the Browns' first touchdown of the day with a one-yard catch midway through the first quarter, also the first of his career. He hasn't shown much upside, but Fannin could emerge as a favorite target of Gabriel in the quick-pass game.

Fannin brought in two of six targets for 24 yards in the Browns' 34-10 loss to the Lions on Sunday. He also rushed once for one yard.

Fannin posted modest reception and receiving yardage totals, but Joe Flacco continued to target the rookie tight end in fairly robust fashion. The 2025 third-round pick hasn't seen fewer than four targets in any contest, but he's posted just 49 total receiving yards in the last two games after recording a 12-111-0 line in his first two NFL contests. Fannin will try to inch his production back up when the Browns travel to London to face the Vikings in Week 5.

Fannin brought in three of four targets for 25 yards in the Browns' 13-10 win over the Packers on Sunday.

Tanin was tied for third in receptions and targets on the Browns for the afternoon while also garnering that slotting in receiving yards. It was Fannin's quietest performance yet in his brief NFL career, but the rookie third-round pick is clearly a key component of the passing attack and could enjoy a bigger role in a Week 4 road matchup against the Lions where Cleveland figures to have to remain aggressive on offense.

Fannin brought in all five targets for 48 yards in the Browns' 41-17 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.

The rookie H-back/tight end tied for the team lead in receptions while finishing a close second to Jerry Jeudy in receiving yards. It was a second consecutive encouraging effort for Fannin to open his NFL career, and his usage through two games, which includes 14 targets and one rush attempt, make it clear he's already established a solid niche in head coach Kevin Stefanski's offense going into a Week 3 home matchup against the Packers next Sunday afternoon.

Fannin had a drop in the fourth quarter which factored into a drive that stalled on the Bengals side of the field. Other than that, the rookie tight end built off a strong preseason and looks ahead of schedule in his development. The 2025 third-round draft pick had one catch for more than 20 yards and led all receivers in targets, including the player starting ahead him at tight end, David Njoku (six targets). The Browns lack quality target depth, which may prompt defenses to focus on Njoku or Jerry Jeudy. That could open the door for Fannin to produce more games like Sunday's and become a relevant fantasy option.

Fannin caught both his targets for 16 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 19-17 preseason win over the Rams.

The 2025 third-round pick saw work with the Browns' starters, and his TD came on a 15-yard toss from Joe Flacco midway through the first quarter. David Njoku remains at the top of the tight end depth chart, but Fannin has drawn rave reviews in training camp and could see more action than expected in two-TE sets, providing Flacco with another potentially dynamic receiving option.

Fannin was cited as a riser at this week's joint practices with Philadelphia, per Zac Jackson of The Athletic.

Fannin dropped a potential touchdown pass from quarterback Joe Flacco early in Thursday's session, but the rookie tight end responded by catching the next one thrown his way and later scored on a deep corner route. While head coach Kevin Stefanski hasn't directly said it, Jackson believes Fannin is ahead of schedule. He could line up all over the formation and will be involved in the offense, per Jackson, as the second tight end behind David Njoku.

Fannin could be a big part of a Browns offense that is likely to run more two-tight-end sets in 2025, per ESPN.com.

Cleveland invested significant stock in Fannin, taking him in the third round of April's NFL Draft. The Bowling Green product showed off serious pass-catching skills in college, tallying 117 receptions on 156 targets for 1,555 yards and 10 touchdowns in his final campaign. The reception and yardage totals were the most by a tight end in a single season in FBS history, though at 6-foot-3, 241 pounds, Fannin is a bit undersized for his position in the NFL. That said, Browns tight ends coach Christian Jones praised Fannin for his strong hands and ability to track the ball following a strong practice Thursday, and the incoming rookie could immediately get looks in the Browns' offense alongside veteran TE David Njoku, who is heading into the final season of a four-year contract.

The Browns selected Fannin the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 67th overall.

Fannin (6-foot-3, 241 pounds) is undersized to the point that he probably won't see many true in-line tight-end snaps in the NFL, and it's not clear whether Fannin's 4.71-second 40 makes him fast enough to thrive as a catch-first player at the position. With that said, if Fannin's athleticism does prove sufficient, then the former Bowling Green star could have real pass-catching skills to capitalize on. Fannin was outrageously productive in college, drawing 218 targets as a second- and third-year player while recording 161 receptions for 2,178 yards and 16 touchdowns (73.9 percent catch rate, 10.0 yards per target). The Browns will hope Fannin proves capable of eventually succeeding David Njoku.
