Goff completed 14 of 37 passes for 255 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 16-9 loss to the Eagles.

Goff looked uncomfortable throughout the game, and his 37.8 percent completion rate was the worst of his career in a single contest, per Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News. Most of his yardage came after the catch from Jahmyr Gibbs and Jameson Wiliams, the latter of which accounted for Goff's only touchdown on a 40-yard catch and run. It was an abysmal performance from Goff, but he's still thrown for multiple touchdowns in five of his last seven games, and he should bounce back in Week 12 with a home matchup against the Giants.

Goff completed 25 of 33 passes for 320 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions in Sunday's 44-22 win over the Commanders.

Goff topped 300 yards for the second time this season thanks to a particularly efficient performance. In addition to completing more than 75 percent of his passes, Goff tallied three gains of more than 20 yards while throwing for a pair of 14-yard touchdowns and one of nine. Goff now has multiple passing scores in six of his nine games on the campaign, and he's averaged more than 7.5 yards per attempt in three straight matchups.

Goff completed 25 of 37 passes for 284 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Lions' 27-24 loss to the Vikings on Sunday.

The Lions' offense wasn't as efficient as usual, but Goff still finished with a fantasy-friendly stat line while working around five sacks. The veteran signal-caller facilitated a pair of 97-yard efforts for Sam LaPorta and Amon-Ra St. Brown, and he connected with LaPorta and Jameson Williams for scoring tosses of 40 and 37 yards, respectively. Goff's yardage total was his second highest of the season, and he's now thrown multiple touchdown passes in four of the last five games heading into a Week 10 road matchup against the Commanders.

Goff completed 20 of 29 pass attempts for 241 yards, one touchdown and one interception while adding two rush attempts for seven yards and a lost fumble in Monday's 24-9 win over the Buccaneers.

Goff was able to lead his team to victory on Monday Night Football, but it came at the expense of his first multi-turnover game of the season. It was also the veteran signal-caller's third time scoring one touchdown or less this year. Goff has thrown 12 touchdowns to just one interception in his four other starts, so his whole body of work has been positive as Detroit enters its Week 8 bye. The 30-year-old should continue to be treated as a starting-level option in fantasy when the Lions host the Vikings on Nov. 2.

Goff completed 23 of 29 passes for 203 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 30-17 loss to the Chiefs. He added one rush for seven yards.

Goff had an interesting start to the game, as he had a touchdown catch nullified by a penalty on Detroit's opening possession. He was out-dueled by Patrick Mahomes from there, but he still turned in a decent performance, highlighted by three completions at least 20 yards -- including a 22-yard touchdown connection with Jameson Williams. Goff now has multiple scores in each of his last three games.

Goff completed 19 of 23 passes for 258 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions in Sunday's 37-24 win over the Bengals. He also had two rushes for minus-two yards while losing a fumble.

Goff took advantage of a favorable matchup to turn in an extremely efficient performance. He completed four passes of 20 or more yards and averaged over 10.0 yards per attempt for the second time this season. Goff also delivered touchdowns from 10, 20 and 12 yards to account for his second performance with at least three scores. He'll face a stiffer Week 6 challenge against the Chiefs.

Goff completed 16 of 27 passes for 168 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 34-10 win over the Browns.

Goff continued to serve primarily as a game manager with Detroit cruising to a win, as he took to the air fewer than 30 times for the third consecutive game. In contrast to those past games, he lacked efficiency in a tough matchup against the Browns, averaging only 6.2 yards per attempt. Goff managed to salvage his day with a pair of touchdowns that came from two and eight yards away while also completing three passes of at least 20 yards, though Detroit will likely need to be challenged for him to put up strong fantasy performances.

Goff completed 20 of 28 pass attempts for 202 yards and a touchdown while rushing four times for six yards in Monday's 38-30 win over Baltimore.

Goff failed to sniff last week's five-touchdown effort in Monday's primetime tilt, instead giving way to the running game to generate 218 yards of offense and four trips to the end zone. The Novato, CA native has already generated massive swings in production through just three weeks of action, making him a risky play in standard one-QB formats. Goff will now have to take on a brutal Cleveland defense in Week 4, but fortunately Sunday's contest will be at home where the signal-caller generally has better splits throughout his career.

Goff completed 23 of 28 passes for 334 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions and added one rush for six yards in the Lions' 52-21 win over the Bears on Sunday.

Goff can usually be counted on for at least one major spike performance each season, and such an instance came early this season. The veteran signal-caller was nearly perfect while finishing with 156.0 QB rating, and he spread the ball around to eight different targets overall. Goff's scoring strikes went to Brock Wright (eight yards), Amon-Ra St. Brown (four, eight and four yards) and Jameson Williams (44 yards), helping the Lions' offense atone in spectacular fashion for its sleepy Week 1 performance against the Packers. Putting together a comparable encore could prove challenging, however, as the Lions travel to Baltimore to face the Ravens in a Week 3 showdown on Monday night, Sept. 22.

Goff completed 31 of 39 passes for 225 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Packers.

Goff's final line was hardly efficient, as he averaged only 5.8 yards per attempt for the day. However, things were even more bleak for much of the game, as he accounted for 65 yards and his lone touchdown of the day on the Lions' final offensive possession that began with the team down by three scores late in the fourth quarter. Goff still managed some long completions to his top skill-position players, including 32 and 19-yard connections with Sam LaPorta and Amon-Ra St. Brown, respectively, but Goff will be looking for a bounceback performance in Week 2 against the Bears.

Goff is not in line to play in Friday's preseason contest against the Falcons, Christian Romo of the Detroit Free Press reports.

With Goff, who also didn't play in last Thursday's Hall of Fame Game against the Chargers, not slated to see action versus Atlanta, the report notes that Hendon Hooker is set to play the first half Friday, with Kyle Allen on track to play in the second half. Goff is entrenched as the Lions' starting QB ahead of Week 1, but according to Tim Twentyman of the team's official site, Hooker and Allen are in a close competition to back up Goff.

Goff is among the key starters who is not in line to play in Thursday's Hall of Fame Game against the Chargers, Jalen Williams of the Detroit Free Press reports.

With Goff not slated to play in the first of Detroit's preseason contests, fellow quarterbacks Hendon Hooker and Kyle Allen are are on track to lead the offense versus Los Angeles on Thursday. The Lions' next exhibition game is Aug. 8 versus the Falcons.

Goff is entering his fifth season in Detroit, looking to build off of an impressive 2024 campaign.

Goff compiled a career-high 4,629 passing yards and 37 passing touchdowns while completing 72 percent of his pass attempts over 17 regular-season games in 2024. The 30-year-old has been the picture of consistency, appearing in all 51 of the Lions' regular-season contests over the last three years. With offensive coordinator Ben Johnson leaving in the offseason to become the head coach with the Bears, Goff will work with new OC John Morton, who was a senior offensive assistant in Detroit in 2022 before spending two years with the Broncos as the team's passing game coordinator. Morton is considered to be a maestro with wide receivers and Detroit added third-rounder Isaac TeSlaa to the fold in the 2025 NFL Draft. He'll join an already talented wide receiver room that includes Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Tim Patrick and Kalif Raymond. Goff completed 23 of 40 passes for 313 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in Saturday's divisional-round loss to the Commanders. He added one rush for seven yards and lost a fumble.

Goff lost a fumble on the Lions' third offensive possession, though things otherwise were relatively on track for the offense early in the contest. He led two touchdown drives by midway through the second quarter, highlighted by a two-yard touchdown pass to Sam LaPorta. However, Goff went on to throw a pick-six and then was intercepted again just before halftime to end a scoring threat. Finally, with the game still in reach, he threw another interception in the end zone early in the fourth quarter. Goff's uncharacteristic mistakes were ultimately too much to overcome, with Detroit shockingly being eliminated as a result. Goff will enter the 2025 season in the first year of a four-year extension and will lead the Lions offense, albeit likely without offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.

Goff took a big hit from Washington defender Frankie Luvu on Quan Martin's pick-six of the quarterback in the second quarter. After getting checked for a concussion in the sideline tent, Goff had his helmet on and was ready to come back in when WR Jameson Williams turned a trick play into a 61-yard touchdown. With Goff rejoining his teammates on the field after the two-minute warning, he'll need to overcome a 31-21 deficit in order for the Lions to reach the NFC Championship Game.

Goff is under evaluation for a concussion during Saturday's divisional-round game against the Commanders.

After committing his second turnover of the contest in the second quarter, Goff took a big hit on Quan Martin's interception return for a touchdown and made his way slowly to the sideline. At the time of his departure, Goff had completed eight of 11 passes for 120 yards, one touchdown and the pick while losing a fumble. Teddy Bridgewater took over for Goff under center, while Hendon Hooker is the emergency third quarterback.

Goff completed 27 of 33 passes for 231 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 31-9 win over the Vikings.

Minnesota's buzzing defense made things difficult for Goff, but he maintained a high completion percentage and put Detroit's offense in manageable situations. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs led the way with four total touchdowns, including a 10-yard pass from Goff, and the defense stepped up to secure the top seed in the NFC for the Lions. Detroit will have a home game in the NFC divisional round following a bye. Goff finishes the regular season with 4,629 passing yards and a 37:12 TD:INT.

Goff completed 26 of 34 passes for 303 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed time times for minus-3 yards in the Lions' 40-34 win over the 49ers on Monday night. He also threw a two-point conversion pass.

Despite the fact Monday night's outcome wouldn't have changed the fact the Lions and Vikings would be facing off for the NFC North crown and No. 1 seed in Week 18, Detroit played as aggressive as usual on offense and Goff's numbers reflected as much. The veteran signal-caller played close to a perfect game and connected with Jameson Williams (41 yards), Sam LaPorta (six yards) and Amon-Ra St. Brown (four yards) for his three scoring tosses. Goff also hit Tim Patrick for a two-point conversion pass after the second touchdown, and he'll head into the aforementioned showdown against Minnesota with three straight 300-yard efforts and four consecutive multi-touchdown-pass tallies.

Goff completed 23 of 32 passes for 336 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 34-17 win over the Bears. He added one rushing attempt for minus-1 yard.

Goff linked up with Jameson Williams for an 82-yard touchdown in the second quarter and added an eight-yard touchdown pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown in the final minute of the first half. Detroit took a 27-14 lead into the locker room, and Goff finished the first half with 254 passing yards. He stretched the lead to 20 with a 21-yard trick play touchdown pass to Sam LaPorta just 2:42 into the third quarter, which was Goff's career-high 33rd touchdown pass. Goff has thrown for 830 yards and eight touchdowns across his last two starts heading into a Week 17 Monday Night Football matchup against a 49ers team that has been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.

Goff completed 38 of 59 passes for 494 yards, five touchdowns and zero interceptions in Sunday's 48-42 loss to the Bills. He added two rushes for 13 yards.

The Lions went down 14-0 in the first quarter and played from behind the entire contest, which led to a season-high 59 pass attempts for Goff. He converted that into an excellent stat line, including his second-most yards in any game of his career while matching a career-high with five touchdowns. He also completed five passes of at least 20 yards, highlighted by a 66-yard touchdown Amon-Ra St. Brown late in the third quarter. While this was an outlier performance, Goff has at least three passing scores in half of Detroit's 10 games since their Week 5 bye and should remain an excellent starting option heading into a Week 16 matchup against the Bears.

Goff completed 32 of 41 passes for 283 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in the Lions' 34-31 win over the Packers on Thursday night. He also rushed four times for seven yards.

Goff got the Lions off and running with a crisp 11-play, 70-yard march that culminated in a David Montgomery three-yard walk-in touchdown on the first possession of the contest. The veteran signal-caller would go on to struggle some during the rest of the first half, although he did get Detroit back in the end zone before halftime with a two-yard scoring toss to Jahmyr Gibbs. Goff would throw his one interception on a slant during Detroit's first drive of the second half, a pick that led to a Packers touchdown. Nevertheless, he would redeem himself with three- and one-yard scoring tosses to Tim Patrick, and by recording a pair of clutch completions during the game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter. Goff's interception broke a three-game streak without a pick, but he still boasts a 9:1 TD:INT over his last four contests heading into a Week 15 home showdown against Josh Allen and the Bills on Sunday, Dec. 15.

Goff completed 21 of 34 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns in Thursday's 23-20 win over the Bears. He also rushed once for one yard.

Detroit scored on each of its first four drives, producing three field goals and a three-yard touchdown pass from Goff to Sam LaPorta to begin the second quarter. Goff added a one-yard touchdown pass to LaPorta in the third quarter to put the Lions ahead 23-7, but Detroit's offense stalled after that. Chicago stormed back but mismanaged the clock after getting into field-goal range in the final minute as Detroit eked out the win to improve to 11-1. Goff will bring a 22:9 TD:INT ratio into a Week 14 home game against the Packers, which will also be on a Thursday.

Goff completed 26 of 36 pass attempts for 269 yards, no touchdowns and no turnovers while adding two carries for no gain in Sunday's 24-6 win over Indianapolis.

Goff kept the offense moving with efficient play from the pocket, but it was Detroit's running game that finished off drives with touchdowns Sunday. The Cal product has now completed 50 out of his last 65 pass attempts with four touchdowns and no picks in two contests since his horrific five-interception game against Houston in Week 10. Despite the upcoming short week, Goff remains a strong choice at QB when the Lions host the Bears on Thanksgiving Day.

Goff completed 24 of 29 passes for 412 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions and added four rushes for 21 yards in the Lions' 52-6 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.

Goff finished the 46-point drubbing with a perfect passer rating of 158.3, his latest milestone in what is turning into a memorable season. The veteran signal-caller connected with Amon-Ra St. Brown (27, nine yards), Jameson Williams (64 yards) and Brock Wright (five yards) for his quartet of touchdown passes, his seventh-multi TD performance in the last eight games. Both Goff's passing yardage and touchdown-pass totals were season highs as well, and he'll be set up well for another prolific afternoon when Detroit faces the vulnerable Colts defense on the road in Week 12.

Goff completed 15 of 30 pass attempts for 240 yards, two touchdowns and five interceptions while adding one rushing attempt for two yards in Sunday's 26-23 win over the Texans.

The Lions somehow escaped with a victory despite Goff throwing a career high five interceptions on Sunday Night Football. The 29-year-old threw more picks in this contest than he had over his previous eight starts combined this season. Goff's performance stings the most from a fantasy perspective, as his five turnovers likely cut into any positive gains made from his passing totals. The Novato, CA native will look to get back to his efficient ways when Detroit returns home to face a floundering Jacksonville squad next Sunday.

Goff completed 18 of 22 passes for 145 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions in Sunday's 24-14 win over the Packers.

Goff led the Lions to a touchdown on their opening drive, during which he went 5-for-5 for 29 yards and a three-yard score. Detroit maintained a lead from there and also benefitted from a defensive score. Based on that game script and rainy conditions, Goff had limited pass volume for the second consecutive contest, with Sunday's performance marking his first without multiple touchdowns since Week 2. He'll return to playing in a dome in a Week 10 matchup against the Texans, which should be beneficial for him and the entire Detroit offense.

Goff (ankle) practiced fully Thursday.

Goff was held out of Wednesday's session due to a sore ankle, but his return without limitations one day later paves the way for him to continue to lead the Lions offense. The reigning NFC Offensive Player of the Month will be taking on a Packers defense Sunday that has allowed the 14th-most yards per attempt (7.25) to opposing quarterbacks this season.

Goff (ankle) is on the field for Thursday's practice, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com

Goff was a spectator for Wednesday's practice after he rolled his ankle in the blowout win over the Titans this past weekend, but his presence on the field at Thursday's session suggests his status for Sunday's game against the Packers is in no real jeopardy. The Lions will release their second Week 9 injury report Thursday, when it will be known whether Goff was a limited or full participant in practice.

Goff was held out of Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury but isn't worried about missing Sunday's game at Green Bay, Jeremy Reisman of Pride of Detroit reports.

Goff said his ankle is a "little sore" and added that he'll "be fine" by Sunday. A return to practice Thursday or Friday would confirm the ankle is nothing to worry about.

Goff completed 12 of 15 passes for 85 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 52-14 win over the Titans. He added one rush for one yard.

The Lions' defense and special teams set up the offense with short fields several times early in the game. Goff took advantage with touchdown passes of eight and one yards, but his yardage was limited as a result. He tallied his third passing score midway through the third quarter but did not play at all in the fourth quarter of the blowout win. It's difficult to find fault with the performance, but game script limited Goff's output for fantasy purposes.

Goff completed 22 of 25 passes for 280 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed twice for minus-4 yards in the Lions' 31-29 win over the Vikings on Sunday. He also committed two fumbles, losing one.

Two games after memorably connecting on all 18 pass attempts, Goff pulled off a near-perfect performance Sunday against a tough Vikings defense. The veteran signal-caller couldn't get anything going over the Lions' first three possessions, but he then went on to lead three consecutive touchdown drives that included a 35-yard touchdown pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown. Goff would add a 21-yard toss to Kalif Raymond just past the midway point of the third quarter and subsequently helmed a game-winning eight-play, 44-yard march late that culminated in a go-ahead field goal. Goff now has four consecutive multi-touchdown efforts heading into a Week 8 home matchup against the Titans.

Goff went 18-for-25 with 315 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 47-9 win over the Cowboys. He added three rushes for five yards.

The Lions played ahead for nearly the entire game, limiting Goff to 25 or fewer pass attempts for the third straight game. However, he overcame that with an exceptionally efficient day, including six completions that went for gains of at least 20 yards. Two of those were touchdowns, highlighted by a 52-yard pass on a trick play to Sam LaPorta early in the second quarter and a 37-yard toss to Jameson Williams one quarter later. Overall, Goff now has multiple touchdowns in three straight contests while averaging at least 8.7 yards per attempt in each. He'll head into a tough test in Week 7 against a Minnesota defense that has allowed the sixth-fewest yards per attempt to opposing quarterbacks.

Goff completed 18 of 18 pass attempts for 292 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions, caught a seven-yard touchdown pass on his only target and rushed twice for minus-2 yards in the Lions' 42-29 win over the Seahawks on Monday night.

Goff became the first quarterback in NFL history to finish a game with a perfect completion percentage on more than 10 attempts and with over 200 passing yards, underscoring how locked in he was during the wild win. The touchdown grab on a Motor City version of the famed Philly Special was an added bonus, with Goff on the receiving end of an Amon-Ra St. Brown pass just past the midway point of the third quarter. Goff also connected with St. Brown for an eight-yard touchdown toss, but the biggest play of his night was a 70-yard scoring strike to Jameson Williams late in the third quarter that extended a 28-20 lead. Goff now has back-to-back two-touchdown-pass tallies heading into a Week 5 bye, and he should be in store for another busy day when Detroit returns to action on the road against the Cowboys on Sunday, Oct. 13.

Goff completed 18 of 23 passes for 198 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 20-13 win over the Cardinals.

Goff threw a five-yard touchdown pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown in the second quarter and caught a break later in the first half, as a pick six was wiped off the board when the officials ruled that the play shouldn't count because the ball wasn't snapped prior to the two-minute warning. Instead of a Cardinals touchdown, that drive eventually ended in a one-yard Goff pass to St. Brown, who latereled to Jahmyr Gibbs, who proceeded to run 20 yards into the end zone on a play that was credited as Goff's second passing touchdown of the game. Goff completed just four of his last nine passes with an interception after hitting his first 14 throws that counted, but Detroit managed to hang on for the win despite Goff's poor second half. He'll bring an underwhelming 3:4 TD:INT into a Week 4 home game against the Seahawks on MNF.

Goff completed 34 of 55 passes for 307 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Buccaneers. He also rushed twice for five yards.

Goff's first pass of the game was picked off, but he bounced back with a 50-yard completion to Jameson Williams on his next pass to set up a field goal and cut Tampa Bay's early lead in half. None of Goff's subsequent 53 passes went for more than 20 yards, as he compiled his way over the 300-yard mark but finished with just 5.6 yards per attempt after throwing for only 217 yards on 7.8 YPA in Week 1. Goff will look to put the slow start behind him in a Week 3 road game against the Cardinals.

Goff completed 18 of 28 passes for 217 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 26-20 overtime win over the Rams. He added one rush attempt for seven yards.

After a quiet first half, Goff gave the Lions a 17-3 lead with a 52-yard touchdown pass to Jameson Williams in the third quarter. The Rams then scored 17 unanswered points, aided by a fourth-quarter Goff interception after the Lions had worked it into field-goal range. Goff bounced back to lead a scoring drive capped by a game-tying 32-yard Jake Bates field goal with 17 seconds left, then Detroit marched down the field on the ground to win it in overtime on a one-yard David Montgomery touchdown. After getting away with a subpar performance in the season opener, Goff will look to sharpen his game in Week 2 against the Buccaneers.

Goff isn't likely to see action in Saturday's preseason finale against the Steelers, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Goff was held out of the team's first two exhibition contests, and it looks like the Lions will continue to play it safe with their top QB on Saturday. As a result, look for Hendon Hooker, who's competing with Nate Sudfeld for backup slotting behind Goff, to draw the start against Pittsburgh. In that scenario, Goff's next game action will occur Sept. 8 against the Rams.

Coach Dan Campbell said Tuesday that Goff isn't in line to play in Thursday's preseason game against the Giants, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Campbell suggested other key players will be held out but only mentioned Goff by name. The list of absentees figures to include WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, TE Sam LaPorta (hamstring) and RBs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs, among others.

The Lions signed Goff to a four-year, $212 million contract extension Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The deal contains $170 million guaranteed, and Goff is now the highest-paid player in Lions franchise history. The 2016 No. 1 overall pick of the Rams, Goff was acquired from Los Angeles in the Matthew Stafford haul prior to the 2021 season and has resurrected his career under Detroit OC Ben Johnson. In three seasons with Detroit, Goff has completed 66.5 percent of his passes, up from 63.4 percent with Los Angeles, and has thrown for 12,258 yards with a splendid 78:27 TD:INT mark. He's lowered his turnover rate with Detroit and just helped lead the team to the NFC Championship Game last season. Goff is still just 29 years old and is locked in with the Lions for at least the next few seasons.

Goff and the Lions have begun negotiations for a contract extension, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.

The same is true for star WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, one of the team's nine regular starters on offense currently under contract with the Lions for 2024. The two exceptions are WR Josh Reynolds (who averaged 3.8 targets per game last year) and RG Jonah Jackson (who has already been replaced by 2023 pro bowler Kevin Zeitler). Even offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is back for another year, after many assumed he'd leave for a head coaching job. Goff, meanwhile, has just one season and $27.3 million remaining on a four-year extension he originally signed with the Rams. What was once viewed as an overpay has now become one of the best values among veteran QB contracts, with the 29-year-old coming off consecutive seasons with more than 4,400 passing yards and at least 29 TDs. Goff hasn't quite been as effective for fantasy mangers, as he offers next to nothing on the ground and plays in an offense that got 47 rushing TDs from running backs over the past two seasons.

The running game was the primary force behind that success, however, and miscues by players other than Goff primarily led to the unit stalling in the final two quarters. The end result was a mediocre performance for Goff, as he averaged only 6.7 yards per attempt and his lone touchdown came with just 56 seconds remaining in the game and the Lions down two scores. Despite the disappointing end to the campaign, Goff enjoyed a solid season, as he reached 30 passing touchdowns in the regular season for the first time since 2018 while averaging a solid 7.6 yards per attempt. He remains under contract with Detroit for 2024, though it will be interesting to see if the team offers him a long-term extension during the offseason.

Goff completed 30 of 43 passes for 287 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-23 divisional-round win over the Buccaneers.

After a tight first half that saw the two teams battle to a 10-10 standstill, Goff got rolling after halftime and led the Lions on three straight TD drives, capping the last one with a nine-yard scoring strike to Amon-Ra St. Brown. Goff has a 12:2 TD:INT over his last six games with a 70.5 percent completion rate and 8.0 YPA, but he'll face a tough test in the NFC Championship Game next weekend on the road in San Francisco.

Goff completed 22 of 27 pass attempts for 277 yards and a touchdown (no turnovers) in Sunday's 24-23 win over the Rams.

The term "revenge game" gets bandied about frequently, but it might be tough to find a stronger example than Goff's performance Sunday against the team that drafted him first overall in 2016. The 29-year-old completed nearly every pass attempt for a 121.8 QB rating en route to a victory over the quarterback (Matthew Stafford) he was traded for back in 2020. Goff has shown a steady improvement since the trade which culminated in a win over his former club Sunday and Detroit's first playoff win since 1992. Goff and the Lions will now prepare to host the divisional round of the NFL playoffs next Sunday.

Goff completed 23 of 32 passes for 320 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Lions' 30-20 win over the Vikings on Sunday.

The Lions treated the regular-season finale as a normal game in terms of personnel usage, and Goff was a beneficiary in the form of his fifth 300-yard game of the campaign. The veteran signal-caller honed in on Amon-Ra St. Brown as usual, connecting with his top target for on seven occasions for 144 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown pass. Goff also hit Sam LaPorta (knee) for a two-yard scoring toss to open the scoring in the first quarter, and he finishes the season with the second-highest touchdown total of his career (30). The Lions will be either the No. 2 or No. 3 seed in the NFC, depending on the outcome of the Cowboys' and Eagles' games in the late window.

Goff completed 19 of 34 passes for 271 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions in the Lions' 20-19 loss to the Cowboys on Saturday night.

As his final line implies, Goff had an inconsistent night that saw him hit on some sizable completions but also make his fair share of poor or inaccurate throws. On the bright side, Goff recorded completions of 23, 25 and 63 yards to Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta and Jameson Williams, respectively. He was also able to lead a last-minute drive that culminated in an 11-yard touchdown pass to St. Brown that put the Lions within a point before a go-ahead two-point conversion pass to offensive lineman Taylor Decker was nullified by penalty. On the other hand, Goff's first interception came in Cowboys territory, while the second one unfolded on the Lions' 26-yard line with 2:05 remaining and led to what would prove to be a game-winning field goal for Dallas. Goff did extend his touchdown streak to nine games, but he's now thrown four picks in the last three contests. Goff and the Lions close out the regular season against the Vikings at home on Jan. 7.

Goff completed 30 of 40 pass attempts for 257 yards with one touchdown during Sunday's 30-24 win over the Vikings.

Handling Minnesota's blitz-heavy defense without many problems, Goff completed 75 percent of his passes and could have had a much bigger game had Detroit not pounded in three touchdowns via rushing plays. Nonetheless, Goff has helped Detroit secure a division title for the first time in 30 years and the team's first since the division was remapped from the NFC Central to the NFC North in 2002. The Lions now aim to fight for playoff positioning starting with an important Week 17 showdown against Dallas.

Goff completed 24 of 34 passes for 278 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 42-17 win over the Broncos.

Goff entered the game in something of a slump, as he had multiple turnovers in three of his last four matchups with the Lions going only 2-2 in that span. Those concerns ended in spectacular fashion, as he matched his career high with five touchdown passes in a game and also didn't turn the ball over. Goff's scores came primarily from short range -- his longest was 19 yards -- but he still completed seven passes of at least 20 yards, good for a season-high. While this was an impressive performance, Goff's career has been marked by inefficiency, so there's no guarantee he'll come close to matching this effort in Week 16 against the Vikings.

Goff completed 20 of 35 passes for 161 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 28-13 loss to the Bears.

Goff turned in a decent first half, the highlight of which came on an eight-yard touchdown pass to Josh Reynolds just prior to halftime. Things fell apart from there, however, as he managed only 68 passing yards on 19 attempts in the final two quarters as the Bears pulled away. The performance ended a four-game streak in which Goff had thrown for multiple touchdowns and also marked the first time that he's failed to throw for 200 yards in a matchup this season. He'll face a Denver defense in Week 15 that has not allowed a quarterback to throw for multiple touchdowns in six consecutive games.

Goff completed 16 of 25 passes for 213 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while netting minus-2 yards on two rush attempts in the Lions' 33-28 win over the Saints on Sunday.

Goff had one of his quieter days in a game that had a somewhat unlikely flow to it, with Detroit seeing a big early lead evaporate and doing very little scoring after a 21-point first quarter. Goff was especially effective in that opening period, hitting Sam LaPorta and Amon-Ra St. Brown for touchdown tosses of 13 and 25 yards, respectively. Goff did extend his streak of games with two-touchdown tallies to four, and he's gone interception-free in three contests over that span heading into a Week 14 road divisional matchup against the Bears.

Goff completed 29 of 44 passes for 332 yards with two touchdowns while adding nine rushing yards on three carries with three lost fumbles during Thursday's 29-22 loss to the Packers. He also completed a pass for a two-point conversion.

Entering the contest sitting fifth in passing yards per game (274.3), Goff put together another respectable outing from a statistical perspective while recording his third straight game with multiple passing touchdowns. However, an onslaught of miscues proved too much to overcome for the NFC North leaders, as Goff took three sacks, went 1-for-6 on fourth down, and fumbled three times -- one of which was returned by Green Bay for a touchdown in a one-score game. The entire offense will look for a bounce-back effort during a Week 13 matchup on the road against the Saints.

Goff completed 23 of 35 passes for 236 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in Sunday's 31-26 win over the Bears. He added three yards on two rushing attempts.

Goff was picked off on Detroit's first two drives, but the Lions got into the end zone on their next two possessions, the latter of which was capped with a seven-yard Goff touchdown pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown to put Detroit ahead 14-10. After throwing a third interception in the third quarter, Goff helped the Lions score the final 17 points of the fourth to pull out the win and improve to 8-2. Goff will look to clean up the turnovers at home against the Packers on Thanksgiving.

Goff completed 23 of 33 passes for 333 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 41-38 win over the Chargers.

The Lions scored three rushing TDs in the first half, but Goff opened things up after halftime, hitting Amon-Ra St. Brown for a 20-yard score in the third quarter and Brock Wright for a 25-yard touchdown midway through the fourth. It's the first time Goff has tossed multiple scores since Week 6, but the 29-year-old QB is now on pace for a new career high in passing yards with 2,507 through nine games. He could be poised for another big performance in Week 11 at home against the Bears.

Goff completed 26 of 37 passes for 272 yards with one touchdown and one interception and rushed twice for minus-2 yards in the Lions' 26-14 win over the Raiders on Monday night.

Goff racked up 256 yards through three quarters before slowing down in the fourth, but he impressively spread the ball around eight different targets on the night. The fact top receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was able to overcome an illness to play was naturally a major benefit to the veteran quarterback, who connected with the talented wideout on six occasions for 108 yards. Goff has thrown for at least Monday's yardage total in three straight games, giving him some solid momentum heading into a Week 10 showdown against Justin Herbert and the Chargers following a Week 9 bye.

Goff completed 33 of 53 passes for 284 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 38-6 loss to Baltimore.

Coming off of an efficient road performance against Tampa Bay, Goff struggled mightily in Baltimore and averaged only 5.4 yards per attempt. He was also held without a touchdown for the first time this season. The lone positive to take away is that Goff and the Lions should be in a position to bounce back in Week 8 against the Raiders.

Goff completed 30 of 44 passes for 353 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 20-6 win over the Buccaneers.

The Lions have been content to allow their defense and run game to earn victories early this season, but Goff was impressive on his way to a season-high 44 pass attempts. As has been the case, he showed the ability to connect with his pass catchers for big plays, as he completed six passes of more than 20 yards -- the longest of which was a 47-yard touchdown toss to Jameson Williams. Through six contests, Goff has recorded either 300 passing yards or three touchdowns on three occasions.

Goff completed 20 of 28 passes for 236 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 42-24 win over the Panthers. He also rushed for a one-yard touchdown.

Goff turned in his best performance of the season despite not having top target Amon-Ra St. Brown (abdomen) available. The signal caller found fantastic rookie tight end Sam LaPorta for a pair of first-half scores, with a touchdown to Josh Reynolds sandwiched between. Goff also snuck in for a rushing TD, capping a standout display that included no turnovers. With a trip to Tampa Bay up next, Goff will hope St. Brown and tailback Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) can return to bolster his options in Week 6.

Goff completed 19 of 28 passes for 210 yards with one touchdown and one interception during Thursday's 34-20 win over Green Bay.

After getting picked off on the third play of the game, Goff rebounded with a quick touchdown drive thanks to a number of big pass plays. Detroit never looked back thereafter, though Goff didn't do much else besides escort David Montgomery up and down the field en route to a three-touchdown performance for the running back. This makes for a third underwhelming fantasy performance in four weeks for Goff, which may not be the production many expected from him after he ended the 2022 campaign with zero picks and five multi-score outings over the final seven weeks. He'll look to rebound in Week 5 as the Lions enter a matchup with Carolina team that will remain without starting cornerback Jaycee Horn (hamstring).

Goff completed 22 of 33 passes for 243 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Sunday's 20-6 win over the Falcons. He also rushed for a three-yard touchdown.

Goff found rookie tight end Sam LaPorta on a 45-yard touchdown during the second quarter, marking his longest play of the campaign thus far. Although he was picked off during the second half, Goff responded by scoring on an unexpected read-option keeper on his next drive. The signal-caller only completed passes to four players, but Goff again connected with top wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown for over 100 yards. He'll now face a quick turnaround before Thursday night's game against a Packers secondary that was without No. 1 cornerback Jaire Alexander (back) in Week 3.

Goff completed 28 of 35 passes for 323 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 37-31 overtime loss to the Seahawks.

Goff started by finding Josh Reynolds for a 22-yard touchdown in the first quarter, then connected with Kalif Raymond for a 36-yard score off a flea flicker prior to halftime. Although the signal caller had an interception returned for a score in the fourth quarter, Goff responded by subsequently hitting Reynolds for a four-yard TD on his next drive. While his overtime-forcing effort ultimately didn't result in a win, Goff still had a productive day, as three Lions topped 60 receiving yards and four made at least five catches, including top wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown's six grabs for 102 yards despite leaving with cramps.

Goff completed 22 of 35 pass attempts for 253 yards with one touchdown during Thursday's 21-20 win over Kansas City.

Despite pulling off an upset over the reigning Super Bowl champions, Goff and the Lions offense did not put forth an overly encouring performance. The unit punted five times after averaging 3.1 of them per game last season, and an inability to consistently get into scoring position -- against a middling Chiefs defense without its best player in defensive tackle Chris Jones -- resulted in Detroit finishing well below the 26.6 points per game it averaged a year ago. However, outside of any scoring-related stats, Goff's modest statistical output was largely in line with his 2022 averages, and his incredible streak of consecutive passes without an interception (359) not only lives on but ranks third all-time behind those set by Aaron Rodgers (402) and Tom Brady (399). Next up for Goff and company is Detroit's home opener indoors against Seattle.

Goff's agent and the Lions have discussed a contract extension, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.

It isn't exactly urgent given that Goff has two years left on his contract and the Lions have the fifth-most cap space in the league (per overthecap.com). He's locked in as Detroit's starting QB this year but faces an uncertain future beyond that with $26.65 million in non-guaranteed compensation for 2024. Goff will want more than that if he repeats his 2022 performance, while the Lions may want to move on if he regresses. Extension or no, Goff will start his season Thursday night at Kansas City in a battle between two teams that finished top five in scoring last year.

Goff and the Lions' starters won't play Saturday versus the Jaguars, possibly along with select rookies, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Goff will sit out a second consecutive preseason game, while Coach Dan Campbell's comment about select rookies also watching from the sideline could include Jahmyr Gibbs. Veteran quarterback Teddy Bridgewater could thus get a chance to make his Lions debut Saturday, while Nate Sudfeld and Adrian Martinez are also available to handle work under center.

Goff isn't slated to play in Friday's preseason game against the Giants, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.

With Goff in street clothes and newcomer Teddy Bridgewater also unavailable, the combination of Nate Sudfeld and undrafted rookie Adrian Martinez will direct the Lions offense in the team's exhibition opener. Goff's next opportunity for some preseason action will arrive Saturday, Aug. 19 against the Jaguars.

Goff played mistake-free football to help the Lions finish with a winning record while knocking Green Bay out of playoff contention in the process. The 28-year-old felt like discarded goods following the trade to Detroit in 2021, but he showed tremendous poise and growth this season with 4,438 passing yards and a 29:7 TD:INT ratio. With numbers better resembling the totals from his promising start with the Rams, Goff's stock certainly is on the upswing heading into the 2023 season.

Goff completed 21 of 29 passes for 255 yards with three touchdowns while rushing once for two yards during Sunday's 41-10 win over Chicago.

While fantasy managers would have preferred the Bears to do their part in turning this meeting between two bad defenses into a shootout, Goff again diced up the Chicago secondary after shredding them to the tune of 9.1 yards per pass attempt in Week 10. He also kept up things clean while going an eighth consecutive game without throwing an interception. With Detroit yet to secure a playoff bid, look for Goff and the Lions to again come out in full force in a pivotal Week 18 matchup in Green Bay.

Goff completed 25 of 42 passes for 355 yards with three touchdowns while rushing three times for 15 yards while fumbling once during Saturday's 37-23 loss to Carolina.

Goff put together a fine stat line for fantasy purposes, but the near complete lack of help from the run game made it difficult for the Lions to keep up with the Panthers, who had no problem running the ball. It didn't help that Jamaal Williams (leg) left the game in the third quarter, not to mention that Goff had numerous passes batted down at the line of scrimmage. Should Williams need to miss time, look for Detroit to scheme up a pass-heavy game plan in Week 17 against a Bears defense allowing the third-most yards per pass attempt (7.8) this season.

Goff completed 23 of 38 passes for 252 yards with one touchdown during Sunday's 20-17 wfin over the Jets.

Right when it seemed that the Lions passing game was finding its groove again, the Jets defense proved to be a tough test. Goff struggled to get into the end zone all game but got lucky in the fourth quarter, when Brock Wright sprung wide open on a crafty play on 4th-and-1 that ended with the tight end weaving his way to a 51-yard score. Up until that point, Goff dinked and dunked his way to his fewest yards per pass attempt (6.6) in three weeks as the Jets were largely successful in preventing any of Amon-Ra St. Brown, DJ Chark or Jameson Williams from getting loose for any big plays. Goff and company will look to get back on track in a more favorable Week 16 matchup with the Panthers.

Goff completed 27 of 39 passes for 330 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions while also gaining nine yards on two rush attempts in the Lions' 34-23 win over the Vikings on Sunday.

Goff turned in a second consecutive 300-yard, multi-touchdown, interception-free effort, extending what has been the best stretch of play of his career by all accounts. The veteran signal-caller connected with Jameson Williams, Josh Reynolds and DJ Chark for touchdown passes of 41, five and 48 yards, respectively, and he impressively led the Lions to either a field goal or touchdown on all four second-half drives. The Lions are in the thick of the NFC wild-card mix at minimum thanks in large part to Goff's play, but he'll have a thorny road matchup against the Jets in Week 15 that will serve as a stringent test of his hot streak.

Goff completed 31 of 41 passes for 340 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Lions' 40-14 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.

Goff started the game off hot and never really let up, ultimately completing passes to eight different pass catchers and recording 10- and four-yard scoring tosses to Amon-Ra St. Brown in the first and fourth quarters, respectively. The performance marked Goff's third over 300 yards this season and his second straight with two touchdown passes. Consequently, he'll head into an important Week 14 home showdown against the Vikings with plenty of momentum.

Goff completed 22 of 37 pass attempts for 240 yards with two touchdowns during Thursday's 28-25 loss to Buffalo.

Goff put together a respectable stat line for fantasy purposes despite losing yet another scoring opportunity to Jamaal Williams and his league-leading 12 rushing touchdowns. However, he ended the game on a low note when the Lions were down three in Bills territory facing 3rd-and-1 and Goff decided to overlook multiple open receivers to poorly attempt a kill shot downfield to DJ Chark. With that said, better days could be ahead for Goff now that Detroit's offense -- which led the league in many offensive categories through the first few weeks of the season -- is getting significantly healthier. The potential absence of explosive rookie Jameson Williams (knee) can only bolster Goff's upside down the stretch.

Goff completed 17 of 26 pass attempts for 165 yards and no touchdowns or turnovers in Sunday's 31-18 win over the Giants.

Detroit was carried by its three-headed rushing attack -- which combined for 150 yards and four touchdowns -- resulting in a low-volume fantasy game from Goff in an upset win over the now 7-3 Giants. The former first-overall pick has done a better job of protecting the football with just one interception over his last four games after turning the ball over nine times in his first six. Goff should be continued to be treated as a fringe starting option in standard formats heading into a Week 12 matchup against the Bills on Thursday.

Goff completed 19 of 26 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-30 win over the Bears. He added 14 rushing yards on four carries.

While he didn't post big numbers, Goff did lead the Lions on two TD drives in the fourth quarter to give his team its first road win of the Dan Campbell era. It's the third time in the last four games the 28-year-old QB has completed at least 73 percent of his passes, and his 8.0 YPA over that stretch isn't reflected in his 4:3 TD:INT. Goff will look to keep rolling in Week 11 against the Giants.

Goff completed 14 of 26 pass attempts for 137 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 15-9 win over Green Bay.

Goff wasn't asked to do much in this contest, as the Lions were carried by defense (three turnovers) and rushing (30 carries for 118 yards) in a win over a divisional rival. The veteran quarterback converted a pair of short touchdown passes to salvage what would have been his lowest passing output of the season. Goff has now thrown for 2,041 yards with 14 touchdowns (seven picks) through eight games, putting him on pace for his first 4,000-yard season since 2019 with the Rams. The Bears are on tap for Goff and the Lions next Sunday.

Goff completed 27 of 37 passes for 321 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Lions' 31-27 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday. He also rushed once for three yards.

Goff and the Lions offense opened the game hot with a pair of first-quarter scoring drives, the second which the veteran quarterback capped with a seven-yard pass to D'Andre Swift. That would end up being Goff's only touchdown toss of the day, but his yardage total was his second highest of the campaign. Goff also couldn't successfully complete a deep pass to Josh Reynolds on 4th-and-1 from the Dolphins' 35-yard line with 2:59 remaining, and he never got another opportunity with the ball due to his defense failing to force a punt from Miami. Goff will look to build on his strong production in a Week 9 home showdown against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.

Goff completed 21 of 26 passes for 228 yards with two interceptions while rushing once for four yards with two lost fumbles during Sunday's 24-6 loss to the Cowboys.

The Lions offense has had a hard time overcoming injuries to key offensive playmakers lately, and it didn't help Goff that Amon-Ra St. Brown (concussion) eventually joined D'Andre Swift (shoulder) and DJ Chark (ankle) on the sidelines before halftime. While Goff still managed to dink and dunk his way into scoring position a couple of times, his four total turnovers -- including three on the first four possessions of the second half -- doomed Detroit's chances of a come-from-behind victory. The bright side is that this offense led the league in many offensive categories when at full strength over the first few weeks of the season, and it is possible the unit could get back on track in Week 8 against the Dolphins with the possible returns of Swift and St. Brown.

Goff completed 19 of 35 passes for 229 yards with one interception while rushing three times for seven yards with one fumble during Sunday's 29-0 loss to New England.

Despite the returns of Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jonah Jackson, Goff had a hard time getting the ball out and coughed up a fumble that was returned for a touchdown in the second quarter. A Lions offense that entered the day leading the league in both yards (436.8) and points (35) per game ultimately didn't come close to either number despite racking up some yardage in garbage time. Even worse, Detroit went 0-for-6 on fourth down and did not even get off a field-goal attempt. With Detroit now sitting at 1-4, it's probably an opportune time for the team's bye week to come around in Week 6. The possible return of DJ Chark (ankle) could help Goff get the offense back on track in Week 7 against Dallas.

Goff completed 26 of 39 passes for 378 yards with four touchdowns and one interception and added one yard on his sole rush attempt during the Lions' 48-45 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday. He also recorded a two-point conversion rush and completed a two-point conversion pass.

Goff's eye-popping stat line is all the more impressive when considering the veteran quarterback took the field without D'Andre Swift (shoulder), Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) and DJ Chark (ankle). Goff adapted extremely well as the game went on, focusing heavily on tight end T.J. Hockenson, who he hit for eight of his completions, 179 of his yards plus 32- and four-yard scoring tosses, along with the two-point conversion pass. He could have had a fifth had DJ Chark corralled a deep pass on a flea flicker early on. In any case, with a steady run game to keep the offense humming and multiple explosive weapons at receiver, Goff is well positioned to have plenty of productive games as the season rolls on. Next up is a Week 3 matchup on the road in Minnesota.

It doesn't seem right to say that Goff led his offense to five total touchdowns since Lions running backs averaged more yards per carry (6.6) than Goff averaged per pass attempt (5.8). Plus, the difference in the game was an unlucky pick-six he threw in the second quarter that was the result of Goff getting hit while he was throwing. However, the addition of DJ Chark and the continued focus on feeding Amon-Ra St. Brown and T.J. Hockenson in the passing game ultimately helped Detroit put up more points than it did in any game last year (except for the season finale when Green Bay rested select starters). Next up for Goff is a home matchup against a Commanders defense that will remain without star defensive end Chase Young (knee).

The Lions also appear solid up front, giving Goff a much better situation that he had last year, albeit with similar potential for the Detroit defense to be a huge liability. Playing at home Friday night, Goff and Co. should have the edge over a talent-deficient Atlanta defense.

Goff is facing a make-or-break season after Detroit spent its offseason improving his supporting cast without acquiring a potential successor at quarterback, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

The Lions front office not only steered clear of the quarterback market in free agency, but they did not spend a draft pick on a developmental prospect either. Instead, they bolstered Goff's receiving options with DJ Chark, first-round rookie Jameson Williams (knee), and tight end James Mitchell (knee). Now, Goff has a fantastic receiving corps to complement a highly-pedigreed offensive line and a capable backfield. If Goff can't succeed within this talented offensive roster, it seems highly likely that Detroit will look for someone who can next offseason, when Goff could be cut with relatively minimal salary cap implications.

General manager Brad Holmes danced around answering questions about Goff being the long-term solution at quarterback, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports. "Sure, I could see some advantage of there (being) a young quarterback that can learn under Jared," Holmes added Tuesday at the NFL's annual league meeting.

Despite a number of signal-callers signing highly-lucrative deals this offseason, the cap hits on Goff's contract remain in the top-10 among quarterbacks for each of the next three seasons. However, there is no guaranteed money on his deal after 2022, and the Lions own plenty of draft capital to use on a developmental prospect this spring, including the No. 2, 32, and 34 selections. While Goff should continue as the starter for the upcoming campaign, he'll probably need to show dramatic improvement in order to stick around in Detroit any longer than that.

It was a smooth return for Goff following a two-week absence, and he could have had a significantly bigger day if the Lions had called on Goff to throw a trick-play touchdown pass that was instead thrown by backup wideout Tom Kennedy, who hit Kalif Raymond for a 75-yard score. Although his first year with Detroit was difficult at times, the Lions scored 37 points in this game and Goff was never a hindrance to the offense. He finishes the year completing 332 of 494 pass attempts for 3,245 yards (67.2 percent completed, 6.6 yards per attempt), 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Although he'll never be much of a downfield passer and had some ugly moments in 2021, the Lions also struggled to assemble a decent wide receiver rotation until the second half, when rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown broke out and the Lions signed Josh Reynolds. There's a chance the Lions could actually build something with this group, and more importantly Detroit might not be able to acquire an upgrade over Goff before the 2022 season.

However, the Lions would only account for one more scoring drive the rest of the game thanks to a disproportionate number of as penalties in combination with general offensive ineptitude. While Lions fans can at least be thankful for seeing a better performance than what backup Tim Boyle displayed last week against Cleveland, that's still not saying much. Goff will continue to be an unappealing fantasy play when Detroit hosts Minnesota in Week 13.

Regardless, Goff will still rank as a low-end fantasy option in weekly leagues after averaging 234.3 passing yards, 8.4 rushing yards, 0.88 touchdowns and 1.11 turnovers per game over his first nine outings of the season.

Tim Boyle stepped in as the Lions' starting quarterback against Cleveland and struggled to move the offense, so there's a chance that he cedes the starting role to third-stringer David Blough even if Goff is ruled out for a second straight game.

Tim Boyle (thumb), who recently began throwing footballs without a brace, could also be an option in the near future. However, neither of these guys have much upside to get excited about, especially on a team where the likes of Kalif Raymond stands as the No. 1 wide receiver. Whoever gets the start against Pittsburgh next weekend will not be an advisable fantasy option.

While Goff actually had a respectable day as a passer, a couple strokes of bad luck doomed Detroit's chances of getting out of Chicago with the divisional win. One was a strip sack and the other was an unlucky snap that bounced off Goff's knee as he was making an adjustment and into the arms of a Bears defensive lineman. However, despite the Lions circling the drain at 0-4, Goff is still completing 68.3 percent of his passes at a high enough volume to average 275 passing yards and nearly two passing touchdowns per game through four weeks. A Week 5 trip to Minnesota isn't the greatest of matchups, but Goff could again benefit from garbage time if Detroit's defense yet again puts the team in an early hole.

Goff failed to throw a touchdown after totaling five in his first two games with Detroit, but he also played the first turnover-free game of his Lions tenure. He actually had the team in position to win by leading a pair of second-half touchdown drives -- both capped off by short rushing scores -- before Justin Tucker bounced a league-record 66-yard field goal in off the crossbar to win it for the Ravens on the game's final play. Given Goff's lack of receiving weapons, he'll be a QB2 option at best in Chicago in Week 4.

Goff completed 26 of 36 passes for 246 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Monday night's 35-17 loss to the Packers. He also rushed four times for 46 yards but lost a fumble.

Although he salvaged some production with a team-leading output in the running game -- mostly thanks to an uncharacteristic 26-yard scamper in the fourth quarter -- Goff will aim to be more consistent in Week 3, but a matchup against the Ravens could make matters difficult.

After going down 38-10 halfway through the third quarter, Goff approached his career high in pass attempts for a game but ultimately finished with a forgettable 5.9 yards per pass attempt. However, even though his final numbers don't account for his pick-six and generally make his actual performance seem better than it was, it's still encouraging to see Detroit find some form of success through the air. Goff was set up well in the backfield with two passing-game proficient running backs in D'Andre Swift (eight catches for 65 yards on 11 targets) and Jamaal Williams (8/9/56) while tight end T.J. Hockenson (8/10/97) served as a reliable safety valve over the middle. Even if he isn't the best quarterback in reality, Goff could continue to be a serviceable fantasy option if Detroit's leaky defense continues to force him into negative game scripts. Next up is a Week 2 matchup on Monday night in Green Bay.

The Lions will convert $20 million of his base salary into a signing bonus, freeing up $15 million in 2021 cap space while adding $5 million to Goff's cap charge in each of the following three seasons (2022-24). He still doesn't have long-term job security, and his 2022 compensation includes a non-guaranteed $10.65 million base salary and $15.5 million roster bonus, potentially setting up a tough decision next offseason. As for the immediate future, Goff is badly in need of some pass-catching talent, with Detroit thus far having swapped out Kenny Golladay (Giants) and Marvin Jones (Jaguars) for Tyrell Williams and Breshad Perriman. Goff (thumb) hasn't been ruled out for Saturday's wild-card matchup in Seattle but it could be challenging for him to gain clearance, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Goff sat out the Rams' playoff-clinching win over the Cardinals last Sunday due to a dislocated thumb, but the team is reportedly hopeful that he'll be able to return for the playoffs. As Rapoport notes, it's possible that the cold weather in Seattle could provide Goff with additional hurdles as he looks to gain medical clearance. John Wolford, who threw for 231 yards and an interception while rushing for 56 yards Week 17, would stand to draw another start if Goff can't go.

As expected, the Rams have ruled Goff ahead of Sunday's game following surgery on his injured thumb. The team is hopeful he will be available for the playoffs should they ultimately secure a spot. John Wolford will make his NFL debut under center in his place.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network adds that Goff also dislocated the thumb. While he was able to pop it back in and finish the game, it's possible the injured thumb in his throwing hand will keep Goff from suiting up for his team's pivotal Week 17 matchup with the Cardinals. More details regarding Goff's availability should surface after further tests on his injury, but the Rams may have to turn to backup quarterback John Wolford with a playoff berth on the line.

Goff completed 24 of 43 pass attempts for 234 yards and one interception while adding 23 yards on seven carries during Sunday's 20-9 loss to the Seahawks.

Goff's average of 5.5 yards per attempt was his second-worst of the season and he went without a touchdown pass for the fourth time, despite a matchup against one of the NFL's most porous pass defenses. His struggles could be attributed to an apparent thumb injury, which he attempted to correct by popping the joint back into place, according to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com. Regardless of the cause, Goff has now been held under 250 passing yards in four of his last five games and sports a poor TD:INT of 4:5 during that stretch. He'll be evaluated in the coming days as the team assesses his status for next Sunday's crucial matchup with the Cardinals.

Goff completed 22 of 34 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Jets.

After leading the Rams to only three points in the first half, Goff found more success after the break, but he ran out of time to complete the comeback attempt. The fifth-year QB has failed to throw for at least 210 yards in three of the last four games, managing a 4:4 TD:INT over that stretch, and Goff will need to shake out of his slump in a Week 16 road clash with the Seahawks that will likely decide the winner of the NFC West.

Goff completed 16 of 25 passes for 137 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Rams' 24-3 win over the Patriots on Thursday night. He also rushed four times for 11 yards and another score.

Game script and/or matchup had enabled Goff to put together four 300-yard passing efforts in the previous five games, but coach Sean McVay was able to revert to his preferred run-heavy method of offense Thursday while facing a mostly anemic Patriots attack. Both Goff's pass attempts and yardage were his lowest of the season, but he wasn't called on to do more with Los Angeles firmly in control throughout the duration of the game. The fact the 2016 first-round pick threw his fifth interception in the last three games is cause for some concern, however, as is the meager passing volume, which could resurface in a very winnable Week 15 matchup versus the Jets on Sunday, Dec. 20.

Goff completed 37 of 47 passes for 351 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 38-28 win over the Cardinals. He also carried the ball four times for one yard and a TD.

It's the third time in the last five games Goff has attempted more than 40 passes and turned that volume into big yardage, but with the Rams continuing to lean on the running game to get the ball into the end zone -- including his own goal-line sneak early in the fourth quarter -- he only has a 5:4 TD:INT in those three contests. Goff may not need to air it out as much in Week 14 in what could be a lower-scoring affair against the Patriots.

Goff completed 19 of 31 pass attempts for 198 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 23-20 loss to the 49ers. He also lost a fumble.

Goff averaged a pedestrian 6.4 yards per attempt and completed just 61 percent of his passes. He also hurt his team with some poorly-timed turnovers, including a fumble just before halftime and a pick-six on his first drive of the second half. Goff was masterful in last week's win over the Buccaneers, so this poor performance in an important divisional game is disappointing to both the Rams and his fantasy managers. He will look to bounce back next Sunday in a favorable matchup against the Cardinals.

Goff completed 39 of 51 passes for 376 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in Monday night's 27-24 win over the Buccaneers.

Goff got off to a strong start, tossing touchdowns to Robert Woods and Van Jefferson while being highly efficient in the first half. Although he threw a poor interception that immediately put Tampa Bay in scoring position after halftime, Goff rallied with a four-yard score to tailback Cam Akers later on. He then followed another pick in his own half of the field by driving down to set up the game-winning field goal in the fourth quarter. Overall, Goff's performance had a couple of notable bumps, but nonetheless was largely successful. He set a new season high in passing yardage -- topping 300 for the third straight game -- while getting both of his top wideouts, Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods, at least 10 catches and 130 yards. Now fresh off his second outing of the campaign with three passing touchdowns, Goff sports significant momentum in advance of Sunday's divisional clash against the 49ers.

Goff completed 27 of 37 passes for 302 yards in Sunday's 23-16 win over the Seahawks. He also gained four rushing yards on five carries.

While he predictably was able to move the ball very effectively through the air against a vulnerable Seattle secondary, Goff was denied any touchdowns as the Rams scored three TDs on the ground from inside the 10-yard line. It's the first time since Week 1 that Goff has failed to throw a touchdown pass, but he could be headed for another disappointing fantasy effort in Week 11 on the road against the Buccaneers.

Goff completed 35 of 61 passes for 355 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in the Rams' 28-17 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday. He also lost two fumbles.

The stat line partly tells the tale of how nightmarish an afternoon it was for Goff, who ran into a rested Dolphins team coming off a bye that consistently tormented him from the middle of the first quarter on. The 26-year-old's second-quarter fumble was returned 78 yards by Andrew Van Ginkel for a touchdown, a miscue that was preceded by an interception that also eventually led to a trip to the end zone for the Dolphins. Goff took two sacks as well and managed to salvage the day for fantasy managers through sheer volume dictated by game script. Goff easily smashed his season high in pass attempts as a result, but he and his teammates will look to return to a much more balanced attack in a Week 10 divisional battle versus the Seahawks following the Week 9 bye.

Goff completed 23 of 33 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 24-10 win over the Bears.

Goff bounced back from a rough Week 6 outing, throwing two touchdowns for the third straight game in the process. His first came off a cleverly schemed play to Josh Reynolds for four yards in the first quarter, then Goff connected with tight end Gerald Everett from 12 yards to take a commanding lead in the third. With his team back in the win column and his season total up to 12 touchdown passes versus just four interceptions, Goff will now look forward to Sunday's game in Miami.

Goff completed 19 of 38 pass attempts for 198 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 24-16 loss to San Francisco.

The 49ers were without its top two edge rushers and two starting corners, but Goff was unable to take advantage of the opportunity and turned in a dud on national television. The usually-accurate quarterback (entered Sunday's contest with a 72 percent completion rate) was not sacked and didn't face too many pressures from blitzes, so it appeared that he simply did not bring his A-game in what looked to be a soft matchup. Goff had been reliable up until this point, so this may end up being one of his worst performances of the year. His fantasy owners are hoping this is just an isolated incident as a far-more ferocious Bears defense comes to Los Angeles for Monday Night Football in Week 7.

Goff completed 21 of 30 passes for 309 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the Rams' 30-10 win over the Washington Football Team on Sunday. He also netted zero yards on three carries and committed a fumble that was recovered by the offense.

Goff distributed the wealth nicely among seven different pass catchers, showing his greatest rapport with Gerald Everett, Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp. The fifth-year quarterback now has a pair of 300-yard efforts in his last three games despite not putting up more than 32 attempts in any contest, and he's thrown for under 267 yards just once over the first five contests. Goff will look to carry over the momentum into a tough Week 6 road divisional battle against the 49ers.

Goff completed 25 of 32 passes for 2000 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 17-9 win over the Giants.

The Rams' offense couldn't get much going in this one, but Aaron Donald and the Rams' defense made sure they didn't need to. Goff now has a 6:2 TD:INT and has completed better than 70 percent of his passes in three straight heading into a Week 5 clash with a Washington defense that's allowed multiple passing TDs in three of four games so far this season.

Goff completed 23 of 32 passes for 321 yards, two touchdowns, a two-point conversion and an interception in Sunday's 35-32 loss to Buffalo. He also rushed twice for four yards and a touchdown.

Goff struggled in the first half, throwing for just 94 yards and an interception en route to a 21-3 deficit. He turned it on after Buffalo stretched its lead to 28-3 in the third quarter, scoring on a one-yard keeper before hitting Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp for touchdowns of 25 and 16 yards, respectively. The latter was followed by a two-point conversion to Tyler Higbee, and the Rams pulled ahead 32-28 when Darrell Henderson capped a fourth consecutive touchdown drive with a one-yard run. Unfortunately for Los Angeles, the Bills responded with a game-winning touchdown drive of their own, but Goff will carry plenty of momentum into a Week 4 home date with the win-less Giants.

Goff completed 20 of 27 pass attempts for 267 yards and three touchdowns, adding seven carries for 13 yards in the Rams' 37-19 win over the Eagles on Sunday.

Despite throwing only 27 times, Goff was highly efficient and tossed three touchdowns (all to Tyler Higbee) with no turnovers in the comfortable victory. Through two games, Goff has totaled just 58 pass attempts after leading the NFL with 626 attempts in 2019. Instead, the Rams have opted for a more run-heavy approach, putting the ball in Goff's hands less. He's still got some streaming appeal in favorable matchups, but he's not a weekly must-start option due to the lack of volume and focus on the ground game.

Goff completed 20 of 31 pass attempts for 275 yards, no touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 20-17 win over Dallas.

Goff turned in a solid performance (64.5 completion percentage, 8.9 YPA) against an elite pass rush, but the lack of touchdowns hurt his overall performance from a fantasy perspective. The 25-year-old had a career-worst 22:16 TD:INT ratio last season while throwing for 4,638 yards. If Goff can get closer to the 30.0 touchdown and 9.5 interception averages from his first two years as a starter then he would become a top-10 fantasy arm again after a down year in 2019. Up next is a road matchup against the Eagles on Sunday.

Goff connected with tight ends Tyler Higee and Gerald Everett consistently during Wednesday's practice, Jordan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

The Rams leaned on 12 personnel late in the 2019 campaign, and Goff finished the season with 1643 passing yards and 11 touchdowns over the final five games, so it's encouraging to see Los Angeles continuing to utilize its athletic tight ends. Higbee's late-season breakout last year has been well documented, and Everett caught a touchdown pass from Goff during red-zone drills Wednesday -- the pair could quickly prove to be reliable options for the 26-year-old quarterback again in 2020. Additionally, It's easy to forget that Goff's entering just his fourth full season as a starter, and his pricey contract often fogs over his serviceable fantasy production the past three years.

Goff agreed Friday to restructure his contract with the Rams by converting approximately $8.8 million of his $10 million base salary into future bonuses, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.

The restructuring is expected to save the Rams $7 million against the salary cap while having no impact on Goff's overall compensation, so it's a win-win move for both sides. The savings should come in handy for Los Angeles as it looks to potentially extend the likes of Jalen Ramsey and Cooper Kupp, who are both entering the final years of their rookie deals.

Goff will be working without running back Todd Gurley and wide receiver Brandin Cooks in 2020, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.

The Rams released Gurley, who eventually signed with the Falcons, and traded Cooks to the Texans this offseason. Out of the backfield, Malcolm Brown and Darrell Henderson (ankle) figure to serve as 1A and 1B in some order. Meanwhile, barring another transaction this offseason, Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods and Josh Reynolds will be the team's WR trio, while Tyler Higbee and Gerald Everett handle TE duties. Goff himself has put up at least 4,600 yards both of the past two seasons while compiling a 54:28 TD:INT during that stretch. No matter how the skill positions look in the fall, Goff figures to succeed in an offense put together by coach Sean McVay.
