Working out with Cowboys
The Cowboys are bringing in Luketa (thigh) for a workout ahead of the team's training camp starting Tuesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Luketa sustained a season-ending thigh injury in mid-December last year, finishing his third season with the Cardinals on IR. The 2022 seventh-round pick appeared in 31 games for Arizona, and he tallied a career-high 21 tackles and 3.0 sacks across 10 games last year. Luketa would likely vie for a role as a reserve linebacker and core special-teamer if he winds up joining the Cowboys this training camp.

Shifts to IR
Luketa (thigh) was placed on injured reserve Friday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Luketa had already been ruled out for the Cardinals' Week 16 matchup in Carolina, but he's since shifted to IR and will miss the remainder of the regular season. The third-year pro from Penn State recorded 21 total tackles, including 3.0 sacks, and forced one fumble over 10 games this season. Arizona is currently on the outside looking in at the playoffs, but Luketa could return later this season if the Cardinals make a playoff run.

Out against Panthers
Luketa (thigh) is out for Sunday's matchup against the Panthers, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Luketa will miss his first full game since Week 4 after going down with a thigh injury early in the first half of last weekend's win versus the Patriots. The third-year linebacker's inactive status should provide more opportunities for Owen Pappoe and Xavier Thomas. Luketa's next chance to see the field will be at Los Angeles in Week 17.

Done for rest of Sunday
Luketa (thigh) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's contest against the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Luketa suffered the thigh injury in the first half and he'll be forced to miss the remainder of Sunday's contest as a result. The linebacker finished his day with one tackle and in his absence, Owen Pappoe and Xavier Thomas will continue to operate in more significant roles versus New England.

Exits with injury Sunday
Luketa sustained a thigh injury and is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Patriots, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Luketa logged one tackle before sustaining this injury during the first half. The 25-year-old has been one of the Cardinals' primary reserve linebackers this season, totaling 20 tackles and three sacks across nine appearances. With starting off-ball linebacker Mack Wilson (conussion) also forced out, it's likely that Owen Pappoe and/or Xavier Thomas will have to step up into bigger roles for the time being.

Healthy for Week 7
Luketa (shoulder) did not appear on Arizona's injury report Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Luketa missed the team's 26-9 loss to the Rams in Week 6 while dealing with a shoulder injury, but he now appears healthy heading into Week 7. The linebacker will return to his role on the special-teams unit Sunday against the Seahawks.

Won't play Sunday
Luketa (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Rams, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Luketa has five tackles (three solo) in five games this season. He's played mostly on special teams and defense but has also seen some snaps at fullback.

Heads to Arizona
The Cardinals selected Luketa in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 256th overall.
ANALYSIS
Luketa compiled just a half sack across his entire four-year collegiate career at Penn State, but that's partially because he bounced between inside linebacker and defensive end over the past two seasons. A 4.89 40-yard dash at 253 pounds isn't ideal, but Luketa always seemed to make heady plays and was a disruptive force in the backfield (8.5 tackles for a loss) when given the opportunity. Expect the 23-year-old to compete for a special teams role early on.
