Keep up with the latest injuries from the Falcons vs Cardinals game on Sunday with our National Football League injury report.Nov 24, 2025
Joins Atlanta's practice squad
The Falcons signed Osborn to the practice squad Monday, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn spent time with the Commanders during the offseason, but he wasn't able to earn a spot on the team's initial 53-man roster. Now, he'll provide Atlanta with emergency depth at wide receiver while star wideout Drake London (knee) works his way back from a PCL sprain.
Aug 26, 2025
Cut by Washington
Osborn was released by the Commanders on Tuesday, Zach Selby of the team's official website reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn will hit free agency after compiling five receptions for 35 yards while appearing in all three preseason games with Washington. The wide receiver played in eight regular-season contests with the Patriots and Commanders in 2024, catching seven of 18 targets for 57 yards and a touchdown. Osborn will likely find another opportunity in the near future.
Mar 13, 2025
Returns to Washington
Osborn re-signed with the Commanders on a one-year contract Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn only suited up for one regular-season game upon being claimed off waivers by Washington in December, remaining a healthy scratch throughout the playoffs. The veteran wideout will now look to make the most of a full offseason to pick up the team's offensive scheme, with the goal of earning a consistent depth role during the 2025 season.
Jan 28, 2025
Finishes season with 57 yards
Osborn made just one appearance after joining the Commanders in December, finishing the regular season with seven catches for 57 yards and a touchdown on 18 targets.
ANALYSIS
All of his production came with the Patriots, for whom he played 62-75 percent of snaps in each of the first four games of the season. Osborn's role declined drastically in October, and the Patriots waived him Dec. 10 after a series of healthy scratches. He'll turn 28 in June and is scheduled for unrestricted free agency this offseason, with minimal chance to get significant guaranteed money on his next contract.
Jan 18, 2025
Healthy scratch vs. Detroit
Osborn (coach's decision) is inactive for Saturday's divisional-round matchup against the Lions, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn was also a healthy inactive for last weekend's wild-card win over Tampa Bay. The veteran wideout has played just once since being claimed off waivers by the Commanders on Dec.11. Washington's wideout corps against Detroit will consist of Terry McLaurin, Olamide Zaccheaus, Dyami Brown, Jamison Crowder and Luke McCaffrey.
Jan 12, 2025
Inactive Sunday
Osborn (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday night's wild-card game versus Tampa Bay.
ANALYSIS
Osborn will take a seat in the first round of the playoffs and his absence won't carry much of an offensive impact on Washington. The Commanders will lean on the likes of Terry McLaurin and Olamide Zaccheaus at wide receiver against the Buccaneers.
Jan 8, 2025
Ready to face Tampa Bay
Osborn (illness) is not listed on Wednesday's injury report.
ANALYSIS
Osborn missed Washington's regular-season finale, a narrow win over the Cowboys, due to an illness, but he's returned to full health ahead of Sunday's road wild-card matchup at Tampa Bay. The veteran wideout joined the Commanders' mid-December but has only suited up for one game with the team, Week 17 versus Atlanta, in which he played 18 offensive snaps and wasn't targeted.
Jan 5, 2025
Not able to suit up in Week 18
Osborn (illness) is inactive for Sunday's game against Dallas, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn appeared on the team's injury report due to an illness Friday, and the ailment is going to sideline the veteran wideout for Washington's regular-season finale. His absence isn't likely to have a significant impact in fantasy, as Osborn was a healthy scratch two straight weeks after joining the Commanders in mid-December before logging 18 offensive snaps last Sunday against Atlanta and coming away with no targets. Luke McCaffrey could see a few more opportunities in the passing game with Osborn out Sunday.
Jan 3, 2025
Questionable for Week 18
Osborn (illness) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Claimed off waivers from New England on Dec. 11, Osborn played 19 offensive snaps last Sunday night against the Falcons but wasn't targeted in the passing game. It was his first action with the Commanders after being deemed inactive for Weeks 15 and 16. Osborn has little to no fantasy value for Sunday's regular-season finale should he be cleared to play.
Dec 22, 2024
Inactive again Week 16
Osborn (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Osborn will be a healthy scratch for the second straight week after Washington claimed him off waivers Dec. 11. Though the Commanders placed Noah Brown (kidney) on IR shortly after picking up Osborn, it appears that the latter isn't high enough on the wideout depth chart to be called upon for gameday. Terry McLaurin, Dyami Brown, Olamide Zaccheaus, Jamison Crowder and Luke McCaffrey will make up the team's wide-receiver room Sunday.
Dec 15, 2024
Healthy scratch Sunday
Osborn (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Saints.
ANALYSIS
The wide receiver was claimed off waivers from the Patriots on Wednesday. Osborn joined Washington after the team learned that Noah Brown would likely miss the rest of the season with a kidney injury, but Dyami Brown, Olamide Zaccheaus and Luke McCaffrey remain ahead of the new addition on the depth chart behind top receiver Terry McLaurin.
Dec 11, 2024
Claimed by Commanders
The Commanders claimed Osborn off waivers Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The Patriots waived Osborn on Tuesday, moving forward with Kendrick Bourne and a slew of young players in their WR room. The Commanders jumped at the opportunity to add a veteran WR with considerable starting experience, having recently learned that Noah Brown is likely to miss the rest of the season with a kidney injury. Osborn doesn't profile as a one-for-one replacement, but he could end up being part of the plan to replace Brown, potentially splitting snaps with Olamide Zaccheaus, Dyami Brown and Luke McCaffrey behind No. 1 receiver Terry McLaurin.
Dec 10, 2024
Cut loose by New England
The Patriots will waive Osborn on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
After joining New England on a one-year deal in the offseason, Osborn played at least 60 percent of the offensive snaps in each the Patriots' first four games of the season but recorded just five receptions for 31 yards and no touchdowns on 13 targets. The Patriots have largely phased him out since Week 5, as Osborn has been active for just three of the team's last nine games while notching two receptions for 26 yards and a touchdown on five targets during that span. With Osborn's outlook for playing time unlikely to improve coming out of a Week 14 bye, the Patriots are opting to part ways with the veteran wideout, who will now have the opportunity to catch on elsewhere before the season comes to a close.
Dec 1, 2024
Healthy scratch for Week 13
Osborn (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
For the third week in a row, Osborn will be a healthy scratch as the Patriots roll with a wide receiver corps of DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Kendrick Bourne, Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker. Osborn's next opportunity to play will be Week 15 agains tthe Cardinals on Sunday, Dec. 15.
Nov 24, 2024
Inactive Sunday
Osborn is inactive for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
With Osborn a healthy scratch for the second straight game, the Patriots' Week 12 wideout corps will be comprised of DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Kendrick Bourne, Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker.
Nov 17, 2024
Inactive Sunday
Osborn is inactive for Sunday's game against the Rams.
ANALYSIS
With Osborn a healthy scratch Sunday, the Patriots' Week 11 wideout corps will be comprised of DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Ja'Lynn Polk, Kendrick Bourne and Javon Baker.
Nov 11, 2024
No catches Sunday
Osborn logged 29 of a possible 64 snaps on offense in Sunday's 19-3 win over the Bears, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After being a healthy scratch in Week 9, Osborn returned to the mix Sunday, while finishing second among New England's wideouts in terms of snaps. However, Osborn didn't catch his only target in the contest, and unless his volume picks up in the coming weeks, he'll remain off the fantasy radar.
Nov 10, 2024
Back in lineup Sunday
Osborn is active for Sunday's game against the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Osborn was a healthy scratch in Week 9, but following the NFL trade deadline he remains in the Patriots' wideout mix. However, with DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte and Kendrick Bourne likely slated to lead the team's Week 10 WR corps, Osborn isn't a high-percentage fantasy option.
Nov 3, 2024
Inactive Sunday
Osborn is inactive for Sunday's game against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
With Osborn and Tyquan Thornton not playing Sunday, DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Kendrick Bourne, Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker are available to handle the Patriots' Week 9 wideout duties. With the NFL trade deadline looming, it's possible that Osborn could be on the move in the coming days.
Oct 20, 2024
Finds end zone
Osborn recorded two receptions on three targets for 26 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 32-16 loss to the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Osborn looked to be phased out of the New England offense, as he failed to log a snap in Week 6. However, he managed to make an impact Sunday with DeMario Douglas (illness) held out for much of the second half and Ja'Lynn Polk continuing to struggle. Osborn's primary impact came midway through the fourth quarter when he hauled in a 22-yard touchdown reception. He'll likely return to a minimal role in Week 8 against the Jets, though it will be worth monitoring the health of the Patriots' other pass catchers.
Oct 14, 2024
No snaps in Week 6
Osborn was active for Sunday's 41-21 loss to the Texans, but didn't play in the contest, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn, who was inactive in Week 5 due to a shoulder injury, was limited in practice last week, but he ended up in uniform Sunday, with Tyquan Thornton and Javon Baker being healthy scratches versus Houston. While Osborn didn't see any snaps in the contest, DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Ja'Lynn Polk and Kendrick Bourne handled New England's WR duties. Perhaps once Osborn distances himself further from his shoulder issue, he'll find himself back in the rotation, but for now he's off the fantasy radar.
Oct 13, 2024
Suiting up Sunday
Osborn (shoulder) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Osborn, who was inactive in Week 5, was limited in practice this week before heading into the weekend listed as questionable. Though he's back in the lineup after a one-week absence, given that Ja'Lynn Polk, Kendrick Bourne and DeMario Douglas are also in New England's WR mix, Osborn isn't a high-percentage fantasy option until or unless he's able to establish consistent rapport with rookie QB Drake Maye, who's making his first NFL regular-season start Sunday.
Oct 11, 2024
Questionable after three LPs
Osborn (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans, Mark Daniels of MassLive reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn's questionable after a trio of limited practices. If he suits up, Osborn will be catching passes from rookie third overall pick Drake Maye, who has supplanted Jacoby Brissett as New England's starting quarterback.
Oct 9, 2024
Limited to start Week 6 prep
Osborn (shoulder) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Osborn sat out the Week 5 loss to the Dolphins due to a shoulder injury, but it's encouraging to see him participating in a limited fashion after Osborn didn't practice at all during Week 5 preparation. The veteran wideout has only five catches for 31 yards this season, but if Osborn's able to play against the Texans on Sunday, he could benefit from New England switching from Jacoby Brissett to rookie third overall pick Drake Maye under center.
Oct 6, 2024
Won't play Sunday
Osborn (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Osborn, who was unable to practice this week, was listed as questionable ahead of the contest, and he'll now target a return to action Oct. 13 against the Texans. In his absence Ja'Lynn Polk, DeMario Douglas and Kendrick Bourne -- who was activated from the PUP list Saturday -- figure to lead the Patriots' Week 5 WR corps, with Tyquan Thornton and Kayshon Boutte also available versus Miami.
Oct 4, 2024
Questionable after three DNPs
Osborn (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
It would be surprising if Osborn managed to suit up considering he didn't practice in any capacity all week, but the Patriots are leaving the door open for the wide receiver to play with a questionable designation. More snaps on the outside would be available for a combination of Ja'Lynn Polk, Tyquan Thornton, Kayshon Boutte and Javon Baker if Osborn sits, while DeMario Douglas should continue to man the slot in New England's underwhelming receiving corps.
Oct 3, 2024
Misses another practice
Osborn (shoulder) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn also missed Wednesday's session, so he likely will need to practice in some capacity Friday in order to have a chance to play Sunday against the Dolphins. Either way, with five catches for 31 yards on 13 targets through in four games to date, Osborn carries modest fantasy value.
Oct 2, 2024
Misses Wednesday's practice
Osborn (shoulder) didn't practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Osborn, who was on the field for 42 of a possible 64 snaps on offense in the Patriots' Week 4 loss to the 49ers, is now dealing with a shoulder issue ahead of Sunday's game against the Dolphins. That said, with five catches on 13 targets for 31 yards through four games, Osborn is only a fantasy consideration in deeper formats.
Sep 30, 2024
One catch Sunday
Osborn logged 42 of a possible 64 snaps on offense in Sunday's 30-13 loss to the 49ers, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
In the process, Osborn, who started alongside Ja'Lynn Polk (53 snaps) on Sunday, caught one of his five targets for three yards in the contest. With just five catches (on 13 targets) for 31 yards through four games thus far, Osborn is off the radar in all but the deepest of fantasy formats
Sep 20, 2024
No catches in Week 3
Osborn logged 39 of a possible 52 snaps on offense in Thursday's 24-3 loss to the Jets, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn (who was not targeted Thursday) and Ja'Lynn Polk (26 snaps) started at wide receiver for the Patriots versus New York, while DeMario Douglas (43 snaps) paced the team with seven catches for 69 yards in the contest. Despite a steady share of snaps, Osborn has been limited to just four catches (on eight targets) through three games to date, a rate of production that keeps him off the fantasy radar for now.
Sep 16, 2024
One catch versus Seattle
Osborn, who was on the field for 51 of the Patriots' 68 snaps on offense in Sunday's overtime 23-20 loss to the Seahawks, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, caught one of his two targets for seven yards in the contest.
ANALYSIS
Osborn and Ja'Lynn Polk (41 snaps) started at wide receiver for the Patriots in Week 2, while DeMario Douglas (38 snaps) and Tyquan Thornton (31 snaps) were also in the mix. Going forward, there will be weeks in which Osborn and his fellow WRs will be more involved, but against the Seahawks at least, New England's offense was pace by the run game, with tight end Hunter Henry (eight catches on 12 targets) serving as QB Jacoby Brissett's top target.
Sep 9, 2024
Three catches in Week 1
Osborn, who was on the field for 40 of a possible 65 snaps on offense in the Patriots' 16-10 season-opening win over the Bengals on Sunday, caught three of his six targets for 21 yards in the contest, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn, who was in the team's starting alignment along with Tyquan Thornton (38 snaps) and DeMario Douglas (39) snaps, led the team in targets in Week 1, but with 2024 second-rounder Ja'Lynn Polk (35 snaps) also in the mix, New England's target distribution could be fluid early on this season. For now, Osborn's only a fantasy consideration in deeper formats.
Aug 26, 2024
Plays as starter again
Osborn recorded two receptions on four targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 20-10 preseason loss to the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
Osborn was a starting outside receiver alongside Tyquan Thornton and was second on the team with 21 snaps on the first 31 offensive plays. He was targeted deep regularly, and he did connect with Drake Maye on a 48-yard catch -- only for it to be nullified by a penalty. The Patriots appear set to rotate their wide receiver corps early in the season, and Osborn is in the group that should see the field plenty in Week 1 against Cincinnati.
Aug 16, 2024
Plays 13 snaps versus Eagles
Osborn logged 13 snaps on offense in Thursday's 14-13 preseason loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Osborn didn't see any targets versus Philadelphia, but it is worth noting that he was in the starting lineup for the second straight preseason contest. With JuJu Smith-Schuster no longer in the mix and Kendrick Bourne (knee) a candidate to miss time early on this season, Osborn has a path to securing a key role out of the gate in a WR corps that also includes promising second-year player DeMario Douglas, rookies Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker, as well as returnees Tyquan Thornton, Kayshon Boutte and Jalen Reagor. In that scenario, Osborn could merit attention in deeper fantasy formats, but steady targets may be hard to come by in an offense that could lean heavily on the run.
Aug 9, 2024
Brief appearance Thursday
Osborn logged four snaps in Thursday's 17-3 preseason win over the Panthers, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
In his brief appearance in the Patriots' exhibition opener, Osborn wasn't targeted, but he did get his limited snaps in with the starting offense in a game which DeMario Douglas (hand) and Kendrick Bourne (knee, PUP) were unavailable for. As the coming season approaches, it's plausible that Osborn could secure a key role in the team's WR corps out of the gate, particularly if Bourne is out or limited come Week 1. While Douglas appears destined to have a steady role for the team, there's otherwise plenty left to be sorted out this preseason, with Osborn, Ja'Lynn Polk, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Javon Baker, Tyquan Thornton, Kayshon Boutte and Jalen Reagor all competing for depth chart slotting.
Jul 25, 2024
First through drills at camp
Osborn and JuJu Smith-Schuster were the first wide receivers through drills Thursday, Henry McKenna of FOX Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
This is unlikely to change anyone's mind about rookie second-round pick Ja'Lynn Polk and second-year pro DeMario Douglas being the New England wideouts generating the most fantasy attention. Osborn has a chance at a top-three role and quite a bit of playing time, but his output as the No. 3 receiver in Minnesota the past three seasons suggests he's highly unlikely to be targeted at a high rate even if he's on the field a lot. He signed a one-year, $4 million contract with the Patriots in March, setting him up to compete with Polk, Douglas, Smith-Schuster, rookie fourth-round pick Javon Baker and (eventually) Kendrick Bourne (ACL tear).
Mar 17, 2024
Heading to New England
Osborn signed a contract with the Patriots on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn will join up with the Patriots on a one-year deal, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.com. The 2020 fifth-round pick is coming off three solid seasons with Minnesota, producing an average statline of 52.7-615-5.3 while starting all but one regular-season game over that span, His numbers did take a slight dip despite the absence of star Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson for seven games in 2023, as Osborn logged 48 catches for 540 yards and three touchdowns over 16 games. Nevertheless, the 26-year-old slot receiver should see a healthy workload in a New England receiving corps that is in need of help. Osborn will likely compete with Demario Douglas and Tyquan Thornton (ankle) for a starting role alongside Kendrick Bourne (knee) and JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle).
Jan 10, 2024
Two catches in loss
Osborn caught two of four targets for nine yards in Sunday's 30-20 loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Osborn's underwhelming performance against the Lions proved to be another example of the receiver's inconsistency in the 2023 campaign. Not including his rookie season in which he didn't play a single offensive snap, the veteran wideout recorded career lows in receptions (48), yards (540) and touchdowns (three) in 2023. Osborn is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, so it's possible he may find himself in a new locale when the 2024 if the Vikings feel they can find an upgrade for the No. 3 receiver spot.
Jan 2, 2024
No receptions in loss
Osborn did not have a target or reception in Sunday's loss to Green Bay. He played on 33 of the offense's 53 snaps.
ANALYSIS
Osborn worked as the third receiver with both Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison healthy, but even then was surprisingly missing from the game plan. There was some thought he'd get more targets with T.J. Hockenson out with a season-ending knee injury, but it was Johnny Mundt (seven targets and four receptions) who filled the void for at least one week.
Dec 24, 2023
Strikes for first TD since Week 3
Osborn reeled in five of seven targets for 95 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 30-24 loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Osborn may have benefitted slightly from rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison departing late in the second quarter with an ankle injury. Having said that, Osborn had two 14-yard catches on the Vikings' first possession, and he then had gains of 47, six (for a TD) and 14 after halftime. The team's No. 1 wide receiver Justin Jefferson looked like himself with 6-141-1 on 10 targets, but if Addison is forced to miss any time, Osborn and Brandon Powell (3-53-0 on four targets Sunday) would stand to benefit against an exploitable Packers defense next Sunday, Dec. 31.
Dec 18, 2023
Sticks as No. 3 wideout in Week 15
Osborn played 37 of the Vikings' 68 snaps on offense (54 percent) and finished with one catch for three yards on two targets in Saturday's 27-24 overtime loss to the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Osborn played fewer than 60 percent of the Vikings' snaps for the second week in a row, with both rates representing his lowest snap shares of the season aside from Week 9 in Atlanta, when he exited early due to a concussion. With rookie first-round pick Jordan Addison having moved into an every-down role and with Justin Jefferson healthy again after coming off injured reserve and overcoming a chest injury that limited his snaps Week 14, Osborn now looks like the clear No. 3 wideout for Minnesota. Osborn is unlikely to rank higher than fourth in the pecking order for targets in a given week, however, as tight end T.J. Hockenson typically garners a healthy share of looks along with Jefferson and Addison.
Nov 28, 2023
Draws four targets in Week 12 loss
Osborn played 47 of the Vikings' 55 snaps on offense and finished with three catches for 34 yards on four targets in Monday's 12-10 loss to the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Even though the Vikings opted not to activate standout receiver Justin Jefferson (hamstring) from injured reserve ahead of Monday's contest, Osborn still ranked just third among Minnesota pass catchers in targets, trailing fellow wideout Jordan Addison (10) and tight end T.J. Hockenson (six). With Jefferson seemingly trending toward a return to the lineup Dec. 10 against Las Vegas following the Vikings' Week 13 bye, Osborn will be pushed down another spot Minnesota's pass-catching hierarchy and could see even more infrequent looks in the passing game.
Nov 20, 2023
One catch in return from concusssion
Osborn had one reception for seven yards on two targets in Sunday's loss at Denver.
ANALYSIS
Osborn returned after missing a game due to a concussion. He started opposite Jordan Addison and played on 71 of the offense's 75 snaps, so he was back to his full role. However, he didn't see many targets with the Vikings struggling to pass the ball more than a few yards down field .
Nov 12, 2023
Sitting out Sunday
Osborn (concussion) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Osborn was knocked out of last Sunday's game in Atlanta due to a concussion, but he made quick progress through the protocol for head injuries this week, getting back to all activity Friday before gaining clearance from an independent neurologist Saturday. Still, both the wide receiver and team itself are deciding to exercise caution and not rush him back considering he remained motionless on the field after the helmet-to-helmet hit that caused the concussion. With Osborn sidelined, Justin Jefferson (hamstring) still on injured reserve, and tight end T.J. Hockenson (ribs) expected to take on less work than normal, rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison should be targeted early and often by quarterback Joshua Dobbs, with Brandon Powell, Trishton Jackson, N'Keal Harry and Jalen Nailor the other options at wide receiver for Minnesota.
Nov 12, 2023
Appears unlikely to play Sunday
Osborn (concussion) is listed as questionable but is considered unlikely to play Sunday against the Saints, Ed Werder of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn was motionless on the field for several minutes before being carted off the field during last week's win over the Falcons after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from Atlanta cornerback Dee Alford. He was diagnosed with a concussion soon thereafter, but despite the scary nature of the head injury, Osborn made rapid progress through the five-step protocol. After returning to practice Thursday in a limited fashion, Osborn turned in a full practice Friday and then passed the final step of the protocol by gaining clearance from an independent neurologist. However, Werder says both Osborn and coaches are leaning toward having the wideout sit out Sunday, likely for precautionary purposes more than anything. Official confirmation on Osborn's status will arrive when the Vikings post their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, but if he's sidelined, more targets could open up for depth receivers such as Brandon Powell and Trishton Jackson.
Nov 12, 2023
Clears protocol, may not play
Osborn (concussion) has fully cleared the NFL's concussion protocol but still isn't a lock to suit up Sunday versus the Saints, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn practiced in full Friday and has since gained full medical clearance, but the Vikings might still opt to take a cautious approach to his health and give the starting wideout another week to rest. His status will be made official 90 minutes ahead of Minnesota's kickoff against the Saints at 1:00 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, Justin Jefferson (hamstring) has been downgraded to 'out' and will not return from IR yet, while T.J. Hockenson (ribs) is expected to play.
Nov 10, 2023
Questionable after full practice
Osborn (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Matthew Coller of 1500 ESPN reports that Osborn progressed to full participation Friday after returning to practice Thursday as a limited participant. He'll still need clearance from an independent neurologist, whereas fellow pass catchers Justin Jefferson (hamstring) and T.J. Hockenson (ribs) -- both listed as questionable -- likely will consult with team doctors before a decision is made on their availability. The Vikings and Saints have an early afternoon kickoff at 1 ET.
Nov 9, 2023
Returns to limited practice
Osborn (concussion) was limited at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Osborn endured a helmet-to-helmet hit this past Sunday in Atlanta that sent him into the concussion protocol, which didn't allow him to log any on-field work Wednesday. One day later, though, he made his way back to the practice field and logged some reps, per Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Osborn likely has a few more phases to pass through to gain clearance to play again, but he at least is on a path to do so. Friday's injury report could be telling for his potential to suit up Sunday versus the Saints.
Nov 8, 2023
DNP on Wednesday
Osborn (concussion) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Osborn was on the receiving end of a helmet-to-helmet hit this past Sunday in Atlanta that sent him into the concussion protocol. The play left him motionless on the turf for a handful of minutes before he made his way to the sideline and eventually the locker room, and kicking off Week 10 prep with no activity isn't a great sign that he has a path to pass through all five phases of the protocol in time to play Sunday against the Saints. Ultimately, Osborn's listing on Friday's injury report may be telling for his upcoming availability.
Nov 5, 2023
Suffers concussion Sunday
Osborn sustained a concussion during Sunday's game in Atlanta and won't return, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After taking a helmet-to-helmet hit in the second quarter, Osborn stayed down on the turf for a spell as he was tended to by the Vikings' medical staff. He eventually was able to get to his feet and then was escorted to the locker room on a cart. With Justin Jefferson (hamstring) on injured reserve and Jalen Nailor (hamstring) inactive, Minnesota's healthy and available wide receivers are Jordan Addison, Brandon Powell, Trishton Jackson and N'Keal Harry.
Nov 5, 2023
Exits Sunday's game
Osborn departed Sunday's game at Atlanta with an apparent head injury, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn took a wicked helmet-to-helmet hit from Falcons cornerback Dee Alford in the second quarter and remained on the turf for some time. After he was tended to by the Vikings' medical staff, Osborn got to his feet and made his way to the cart. If he's unable to return, he'll finish Week 9 with two catches (on two targets) for 17 yards.
Nov 3, 2023
Ready for Sunday
Osborn (chest) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Osborn operated with a cap on his practice reps Wednesday and Thursday due to a chest injury, but it won't impact his availability for Week 9 action. The biggest question mark for Osborn moving forward is who will be throwing him passes in the weeks ahead after Kirk Cousins was lost for the season due to a torn Achilles. The Vikings are in line start rookie fifth-rounder Jaren Hall on Sunday, but the team also acquired Joshua Dobbs from the Cardinals on Tuesday.
Nov 2, 2023
Logs limited session Thursday
Osborn (chest) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Osborn is coming off his most-productive performance of the season (8-99-0 line on 10 targets) this past Sunday at Green Bay. He now has the double whammy of an injury to tend to and the Vikings' No. 1 quarterback Kirk Cousins going down with a torn Achilles in that contest, thereby ending the latter's season. Osborn will have one more chance this week to get back to all on-field work before the team potentially hands him a designation for Sunday's game in Atlanta. Assuming he's able to suit up, he likely will be on the receiving end of passes from rookie fifth-round pick Jaren Hall considering Joshua Dobbs only joined Minnesota from Arizona on Tuesday.
Nov 1, 2023
Dealing with chest issue
Osborn was limited at Wednesday's practice due to a chest injury.
ANALYSIS
In the three games that Justin Jefferson (hamstring) has missed during his current IR stint, Osborn's snap share hasn't been impacted at all on a weekly basis, and his output (17-194-0 on 21 targets) has experienced a slight uptick. Meanwhile, rookie first-round pick Jordan Addison has exploded for a 17-233-4 line on 23 targets in the same span. If Osborn is able to put his current health concern behind him for Sunday's game in Atlanta, he likely will be working with rookie quarterback Jaren Hall after Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles this past Sunday at Green Bay.
Oct 29, 2023
Just misses 100-yard day
Osborn caught eight of 10 passes for 99 yards in Sunday's 24-10 win over the Packers.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year wideout led Minnesota in catches, yards and targets, but it was Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson on the end of TD passes from Kirk Cousins. The quarterback suffered what's feared to be a season-ending Achilles tear late in Sunday's game, and his loss would impact the production and ceiling of all the team's receiving options, including Osborn. Jalen Hall, a fifth-round pick in 2023, will likely be under center in Week 9 against the Falcons, with veteran backup Nick Mullins (back) eligible to come off IR as soon as Week 10.
Oct 15, 2023
Four catches in win
Osborn secured four of five targets for 48 yards in the Vikings' 19-13 win over the Bears on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Osborn moved up a spot on the depth chart with Justin Jefferson (IR-hamstring) sidelined and turned in a solid performance with the extra opportunity. The fourth-year pro has already proven his ability to handle an expanded role by recording 110 receptions for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in his last two seasons, so his numbers could certainly continue on an upward trajectory while Jefferson remains out.
Oct 11, 2023
Could step up with Jefferson on IR
Osborn could be in line for additional opportunities over the next four weeks, as Craig Peters of the Vikings' official site reports that Justin Jefferson (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
In Jefferson's absence, Osborn and Jordan Addison are projected to serve as Minnesota's top two wide receivers, beginning with a Week 6 matchup against Chicago's shaky secondary. Jefferson had 53 targets through five games before getting hurt, and those 10.6 targets per game are likely to be distributed primarily between Osborn, Addison and tight end T.J. Hockenson. Osborn has yet to reach 50 yards in a game this season, but he averaged 87.5 receiving yards on 8.3 targets over the final four weeks of last season.
Oct 8, 2023
Five grabs in Sunday's loss
Osborn caught five of nine targets for 49 yards in Sunday's 27-20 loss to Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
The grabs, yards and targets were all season highs for Osborn while the nine looks from Kirk Cousins tied for the team lead with rookie Jordan Addison, as both receivers took on more prominent roles late with Justin Jefferson (hamstring) sidelined. Osborn had only eight catches through the first four games of the year, but if Jefferson isn't able to suit up in Week 6 against the Bears, he could see significant volume once again.
Oct 2, 2023
Just one reception
Osborn had just one reception on two targets in Sunday's win at Carolina.
ANALYSIS
Neither Osborn nor Jordan Addison (no receptions) had much of a role in the passing game as Justin Jefferson was the only Viking with more than two receptions. Osborn played on 40 of the offense's 48 snaps compared to Addison's 28 snaps. Addison struggled in run blocking which may be a reason Osborn continues to play more snaps on offense than Addison despite inferior receiving stats.
Sep 25, 2023
Gets TD on lone reception
Osborn had one reception for a 36-yard touchdown on three targets in Sunday's loss to the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Osborn started at receiver over Jordan Addison and played more snaps (77 to 59) on offense, but Addison had six receptions for 52 yards on eight targets. Osborn is getting more playing time due to his prowess as a run blocker, but he's fallen behind Addison in terms of his role in the passing game.
Sep 16, 2023
Scores TD but two drops
Osborn had three receptions on six targets for 34 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown, in Thursday's loss at Philadelphia. He also had two drops.
ANALYSIS
Osborn's share of playing time on offense decreased in the season's second game, at least compared to rookie Jordan Addison. Addison started in a two-receiver set to begin the game ahead of Osborn, though Osborn played more snaps on offense (53 to 39 snaps). Meanwhile Addison had a strong game with three receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown. Osborn could see fewer snaps after two drops during the game, and could decline more if the coaching staff gains more confidence in Addison's run blocking which they have said was the reason for Osborn's usage in two-receiver sets.
Sep 11, 2023
Works as No. 2 WR in opener
Osborn had three receptions for 31 yards on six targets in Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay. He started at wide receiver opposite Justin Jefferson in a two-WR set.
ANALYSIS
Osborn played more snaps (58 to 36) than Jordan Addison, but Addison had the bigger game with four receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown. Osborn could have had a more productive game but a pass thrown at him at the goaline was slightly underthrown and ripped away from him for an interception. Still, it shows that Addison, Minnesota's 2023 first-round draft pick, hasn't totally overtaken Osborn in the offense - yet.
Aug 7, 2023
Listed as No. 2 receiver
Osborn is listed as the No. 2 wide receiver on Minnesota's first unofficial depth chart of the preseason. Osborn may get more snaps this season as the team's "F" receiver as he'll frequently be used as a blocker, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn may also be listed ahead of Jordan Addison to begin the preseason as the team may give deference to the veteran. It's also possible Osborn plays more snaps on offense this year, but Addison gets more targets. Either way, we wouldn't change our outlook on either player from this early preseason listing.

Facing competition from rookie
Osborn faces more competition for snaps and targets after the Vikings drafted WR Jordan Addison at No. 23 overall Thursday night, Jim Souhan of The Star Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn took 60 percent of his snaps in the slot last year, while Addison mostly figures to play outside and take snaps/targets that previously went to Adam Thielen, who is now with the Panthers after going for 70/716/6 on 107 targets his final season in Minnesota. Addison won't automatically get more targets than Thielen did last season, but the rookie nonetheless could impact Osborn's playing time and thus receiving volume, especially given that the Vikings spent big on No. 2 TE Josh Oliver earlier this offseason. The Oliver signing figures to inspire more two-TE sets than the Vikings used last year, and there's a good chance Osborn rather than Addison is the odd man out for those formations.

Stacks up another solid season
Osborn caught 60 of 90 targets for 650 yards and five touchdowns while playing all 17 games in the 2022 regular season.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old reprised his role as the Vikings' No. 3 wideout behind superstar Justin Jefferson and longtime veteran Adam Thielen. However, Osborn finished the season as the team's fourth receiving option after that pair and tight end T.J. Hockenson, who accumulated 60 receptions for 519 yards after being acquired from Detroit at the trade deadline. The third-year wideout still posted almost the exact same stat line from his breakout 2021 (50-655-7 on 82 targets). Osborn also capped off the season on a solid note by hauling in two of three targets for 20 yards and his sixth touchdown between regular season and playoffs during the wild-card loss to the Giants. With Thielen seemingly on a decline over the past two seasons, Osborn could be in line for a bigger role heading into the final year of his rookie contract in 2023.
Jan 8, 2023
Tops century mark
Osborn caught five of six targets for 117 yards in Sunday's 29-13 win over the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Osborn led the Vikings in receiving, with most of his production coming prior to the team's decision to rest its offensive starters during the second half. The 25-year-old enjoyed a strong finish to the regular season, scoring three times while topping 115 yards twice over his last five games. His complementary playmaking figures to bolster quarterback Kirk Cousins' options as Minnesota now turns its attention toward the playoffs.
Jan 1, 2023
Scores garbage-time TD
Osborn caught all seven of his targets for 59 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 41-17 loss to the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Both Minnesota touchdowns came in the fourth quarter with the game long out of reach, and Osborn caught his from Nick Mullens rather than Kirk Cousins as the team began to sit its stars. The Vikings won't have much to play for in Week 18 other than playoff seeding, so Mullens could get the start against the Bears, but Osborn at least will likely remain involved no matter who is under center.
Dec 26, 2022
Catches three passes in win
Osborn caught three of four targets for 17 yards in Saturday's 27-24 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Osborn's underwhelming day was a disappointment for fantasy managers hoping for a something close to his Week 15 performance, when the wideout caught 10 of his 16 targets for 157 yards and a touchdown. The 25-year-old remains involved as Minnesota's No. 3 receiver, as the Vikings run a high-volume passing attack. With that said, Osborn fantasy potential is difficult to forecast with so many mouths to feed on one of the league's most talented offense. The veteran wideout will look to get back on track when the Vikings visit the Packers in Week 17.
Dec 17, 2022
Career-best outing in OT win
Osborn caught 10 of 16 targets for a career-high 157 yards and one touchdown in Saturday's 39-36 overtime win over the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Osborn had a would-be 40-yard catch ruled incomplete on a challenge late in the first half, then flashed his big play ability again on a 63-yard catch in the third quarter. Three plays later, he got into the end zone from two yards out for Minnesota's first points of the game. Osborn made another significant contribution to the largest comeback in league history (33 points) by drawing a pass interference flag in the end zone to set up the fourth of Minnesota's five second-half touchdowns. The 25-year-old wide receiver will look to build on this career best performance in Week 16 against the Giants.
Dec 12, 2022
Grabs third TD in loss
Osborn had five receptions for 38 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown, on five targets in Sunday's loss at Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Osborn had his most productive game since the acquisition of T.J. Hockenson as the Vikings were forced to pass after falling behind early. Osborn had just nine receptions on 21 targets for 77 yards over his previous five games, so he can't be counted for steady production despite Sunday's effort as Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen and Hockensen command almost all the targets in the passing game.
Dec 6, 2022
Just two receptions Sunday
Osborn had two receptions for 17 yards on three targets in Sunday's win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Osborn continues to come up with big plays in key spots but just isn't getting much volume after the acquisition of T..J Hockenson. Osborn has just nine receptions for 77 yards over his last five games.
Nov 21, 2022
Target total dips to three
Osborn caught two of three targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 40-3 loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Osborn's volume has oscillated from two targets in Week 9 to 11 last week before dropping back down to three. As long as all three of Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen and T.J. Hockenson are healthy, Osborn will have difficulty carving out a consistent role as Kirk Cousins' fourth option in the passing game.
Nov 14, 2022
Gets 11 targets in win
Osborn had four receptions for 35 yards on 11 targets and one carry for two yards in Sunday's OT win at Buffalo.
ANALYSIS
Osborn didn't have a reception and had just two targets last week as it looked like his role would significantly decrease after the acquisition of T.J. Hockenson. However, a week later he was frequently targeted by Kirk Cousins and made several big plays. Hockensen has replaced him as the third option in the passing offense (16 receptions the past two games), but at least Osborn looks to still have a role.
Nov 7, 2022
No receptions in win
Osborn did not have a reception on two targets in Sunday's win at Washington.
ANALYSIS
Osborn played on 53 of the offense's 66 snaps and he went out on 39 routes. He got about the usual playing time, but he had a season low in targets and it was his first game this season without a catch. The acquisition of T.J. Hockenson (nine receptions) looks to have supplanted Osborn as the third option in the passing offense.
Oct 30, 2022
Secures key touchdown grab in win
Osborn brought in two of five targets for eight yards and a touchdown in the Vikings' 34-26 win over the Cardinals on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The UM product's five-yard scoring grab with 8:36 remaining put the Vikings ahead for good and served as his second end-zone trip of the campaign. Osborn could be in position for more targets in the short term if the injuries sustained by Adam Thielen (knee) and Irv Smith (ankle) in Sunday's contest linger into a Week 9 road matchup against the Commanders.
Oct 17, 2022
Just three receptions Sunday
Osborn had three receptions for 18 yards on five targets in Sunday's win at Miami.
ANALYSIS
Osborn played on a season-low 58% of the offense's snaps, but still had five targets. Minnesota generated just 175 yards passing as the offense sputtered early. Unfortunately, the focus on the top targets rarely leaves much for the third receiver in Minnesota's offense.
Oct 10, 2022
Five receptions in win
Osborn had five receptions for 41 yards on five targets in Sunday's win over Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Osborn has seen a slight increase in playing time the last two weeks to 85% of offensive snaps each game. He's had more than four targets just twice in five games. However, his increased playing time is a positive sign even with the Vikings failing to target the third receiver significantly more than the past few years.
Oct 3, 2022
Just one reception
Osborn had one reception for six yards on two targets and also lost one yard on one carry in Sunday's win over New Orleans in London.
ANALYSIS
After a season-high eight targets and a touchdown last week, Osborn was back to his more limited third-receive role. He played on 56 of the offense's 76 snaps, which was slightly more than usual. Despite a new offensive-minded head coach in Minnesota, the No. 3 receiver continues to be an afterthought in the offense despite his Week 3 spike in production.
Sep 25, 2022
Game-winning score against Lions
Osborn recorded five receptions on eight targets for 73 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-24 win over the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Justin Jefferson got a lot of attention from the Detroit defense, which opened up the field for some of the Vikings' peripheral receiving options. Osborn was among them, and he recorded a pair of 28-yard receptions -- the latter of which provide to be the game-winning touchdown. Osborn will continue to produce inconsistently as the third option -- at best-- in Minnesota's passing attack, but he has shown the ability to contribute in a significant way in each of the last two seasons.
Sep 20, 2022
Just two targets Monday
Osborn had two receptions for 25 yards on two targets in Monday's loss at Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
It's not a good sign for Osborn's role in the offense that he was targeted just twice in a game where the Vikings were forced to throw the ball after falling behind early (Kirk Cousins had 46 passing attempts). Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson had 19 combined targets and Irv Smith, Jr. had eight targets. Osborn was on the field for 47 of the offense's 61 snaps and ran 42 routes, but he wasn't in the game plan. Despite a new head coach in Minnesota, the third receiver continues to be an afterthought in the offense.
Sep 12, 2022
Three receptions in season opener
Osborn had three receptions for 14 yards on four targets in Sunday's win over Green Bay.
ANALYSIS
Osborn played on 42 of the offense's 62 snaps. Despite talk of the Vikings using more three-receiver sets this season, he saw about the same usage as last season even with no fourth or fifth receiver getting snaps on offense. He was tied for the third most targets and should have bigger games, but the bulk of targets in the offense still go to Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen.
Aug 20, 2022
Doesn't suit up Saturday
Osborn didn't play in Saturday's preseason defeat to the 49ers, Lindsey Young of the Vikings' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn joined the Vikings' top two wide receivers Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen on the sideline. While Jefferson and Thielen also didn't suit up in preseason Week 1 at Las Vegas, Osborn did play, logging eight offensive snaps and catching his only target for 10 yards. The third-year pro has settled into the third receiver role in Minnesota's offense, which may yield more fruit this year under new coach Kevin O'Connell.
Aug 5, 2022
Leader in No. 3 WR battle
Osborn is drawing raves early in training camp and has become the clear leader for the No. 3 receiver role, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. "He's been really, really good," Head coach Kevin O'Connell said. "There's no other way to describe it early on in camp."
ANALYSIS
Osborn has been primarily used in the slot during practices which feature more three-receiver sets under the new coaching staff. Osborn, who recorded a 50-655-7 stat line on 82 targets over 17 contests last season, but could see his usage increase if the Vikings move away from a run-first offense. Albert Wilson, Bisi Johnson, Ihmir Smith-Marsette, Dan Chisena and Jalen Nailor are also competing for the No. 3 role, but even the No. 4 role could have value this season for the Vikings in the new offense.
Jul 28, 2022
Good to go for training camp
Osborn, who missed time during spring practices with an undisclosed injury, is back in action for training camp, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn, who recorded a 50-655-7 stat line on 82 targets over 17 contests last season, has noted that his goal is to be a "complete" target for quarterback Kirk Cousins in a Vikings offense that could move receivers around more this season. As things stand, Osborn gives the team a legit third option at the wide receiver position behind Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen.
Jun 7, 2022
Sidelined to start minicamp
Osborn didn't practice during Tuesday's mandatory minicamp due to an undisclosed injury, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
ANALYSIS
The severity of Osborn's injury is unclear, but he joined fellow wideout Ihmir Smith-Marsette (leg) as a non-participant Tuesday. Despite their offseason injuries, Osborn and Smith Marsette are slated to be the top two receivers behind Minnesota's dynamic duo of Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen.
Jan 18, 2022
Four targets in Week 18
Osborn caught one of four targets for 21 yards and one score during Week 18's 31-17 win over the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Osborn finished the 2021 campaign with 50 receptions for 655 yards and seven touchdowns. He started the season off hot with 12 receptions for 167 yards through the first two weeks, but he took a backseat as Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen demanded the majority of Kirk Cousins' attention. However, after Thielen went down with a high-ankle sprain in Week 13, Osborn once again stepped up his game. Over the last six contests of the year, Osborn totaled 19 catches for 290 yards and five touchdowns -- including one in each of the Vikings' last three games.
Jan 3, 2022
Hits pay dirt in loss
Osborn had three receptions (five targets) for 50 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 37-10 loss to Green Bay.
ANALYSIS
Osborn stepped into the starting lineup in place of Adam Thielen (ankle) as expected, and he delivered a strong fantasy performance with a second-half touchdown. The 24-year-old was already seeing his role increase prior to Thielen's season-ending injury last week, scoring four of his six touchdowns over the last five weeks. The Vikings will take on the Bears in a meaningless game (from a playoffs standpoint), but Osborn and the rest of Minnesota's offensive options would benefit if Kirk Cousins (illness) is able to return.
Dec 29, 2021
Locked in for No. 2 receiver spot
Osborn's teammate Adam Thielen (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Assuming he stays healthy, Osborn is now locked in as Minnesota's No. 2 receiver, a role he'd already handled for most of the past four weeks with Thielen out or limited due to the injury. Osborn has a four-game streak with at least three catches and 79 percent snap share, averaging 3.8 receptions for 54.8 yards on 6.5 targets in that time, with his third, fourth and fifth TDs of the season. He also put up decent numbers in September as Minnesota's No. 3 receiver, but was unable to sustain the volume with Thielen and Jefferson both healthy. While he may be a distant second to Jefferson now, Osborn appears solidly ahead of Dede Westbrook, Ihmir Smith-Marsette and Dan Chisena as the Vikings prepare to close out their season against the Packers (Week 17) and Bears (Week 18).
Dec 26, 2021
Steps up in loss
Osborn recorded five receptions on seven targets for 68 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-23 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Osborn maintained an increased role in Minnesota's offense as Adam Thielen was limited by an ankle injury. He took advantage by finishing second on the team in targets, yards and reception. Additionally, he tallied long receptions of 30 and 19 yards while also finding the end zone on a six-yard catch midway through the fourth quarter. Osborn's ability to impact the game in a similar way in a Week 17 matchup against Green Bay will likely come down to Thielen's ability to take the field.
Dec 20, 2021
Three grabs in start
Osborn secured all three targets for 21 yards in the Vikings' 17-9 win over the Bears on Monday night.
ANALYSIS
Osborn drew another start for Adam Thielen (ankle), but unlike the Week 14 Thursday night win over the Steelers when he'd cobbled together a strong fantasy effort with a late touchdown, there was no such development Monday night. The University of Miami product could be back to his usual No. 3 role for Sunday's critical Week 16 home battle against the Rams, considering Thielen was considered a game-time decision Monday night.
Dec 10, 2021
Scores long TD in spot start
Osborn brought in three of nine targets for 83 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings' 36-28 win over the Steelers on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
The emerging second-year wideout drew the start in place of Adam Thielen (ankle) and ended up leading the Vikings in receiving yards thanks in large part to a 62-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Otherwise, Osborn actually slogged through a highly inefficient night, but the long score helped the University of Miami product to the second-highest yardage tally of his young career. If Thielen is still out or limited for a Week 15 Monday night divisional battle against the Bears on Dec. 20, Osborn could once again enjoy a prominent role.
Dec 5, 2021
Steps up in place of hurt starter
Osborn had four receptions (seven targets) for 47 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Starter Adam Thielen (ankle) was forced out of the contest early in the first quarter, opening the door for Osborn to get more involved in the offense. The 24-year-old produced a solid fantasy line, but it wasn't even his best performance this season despite getting extra run. Osborn could continue to see increased usage if Thielen is forced to miss any time with his sprained ankle. The veteran wideout is currently listed as questionable for Thursday's tilt against the Steelers, but the short week of rest could result in Osborn's first start of the year. He would carry deep-league appeal in the event Thielen is unable to suit up.
Nov 29, 2021
Non-factor in loss
Osborn caught one of two targets for five yards during Sunday's 34-26 loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Osborn played 55 percent of the team's offensive snaps (30 of 55), but he was once again held to just one catch, as Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson dominated Kirk Cousins' attention. Even with the Vikings playing from behind for the majority of Sunday's loss, Osborn couldn't crack fantasy relevance. The 2020 fifth-round pick's steady playing time should keep him in the conversation, but his lack of production over the past four weeks (three catches for 44 yards) makes him a risky fantasy play in any format.
Nov 22, 2021
Just one reception Sunday
Osborn had one reception for 19 yards on four targets in Sunday's over Green Bay.
ANALYSIS
Osborn played on 52% of the offense's snaps (36 of 69) and went out for a route on 23 plays. He's been getting about the same playing time as earlier in the season as the third receiver, but the passing game has narrowed on the duo of Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson with Tyler Conklin emerging as the distant third option. Osborn's steady playing time could make him more of a factor if the Vikings are playing from far behind, but it's hard to count on any production otherwise.
Nov 15, 2021
No receptions Sunday
Osborn did not have a reception or carry in Sunday's win at the Chargers but did have one target.
ANALYSIS
Osborn played on 51% of the offense's snaps and went out for a route on 26 of his 41 snaps. While he's getting about the same playing time as earlier in the year, he has just four targets and one reception in his last three games. Tyler Conklin has become the third option in the passing game and the duo of Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson have dominated the target share as much as ever, leaving Osborn out the outside for now. His steady playing time could make him more of a factor in shootouts.
Nov 8, 2021
Just one reception Sunday
Osborn had one reception for 20 yards on two targets in Sunday's loss at Baltimore.
ANALYSIS
Osborn played a season low 26 snaps and 47% of the team's snaps on offense. He has just five targets combined the last two games, but still has a firm hold on the third receiver role.
Nov 1, 2021
Just two receptions Sunday
Osborn had two receptions for 10 yards on three targets in Sunday's loss to Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Osborn played on 38 of the offense's 66 snaps, about his season average, but had his fewest targets since Week 3. Although Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen dominate the targets, Osborn remains a viable fantasy option in deeper formats. He continues to get a steady workload and has a firm grasp on the third receiver role, even if the results were not there against Dallas.
Oct 18, 2021
Grabs game-winning touchdown
Osborn had six receptions for 78 yards on seven targets, including a game-winning 27-yard touchdown in overtime in Sunday's win at Carolina.
ANALYSIS
Osborn has been getting steady targets in the Minnesota passing game, but hadn't had been getting much yardage the past three games (eight catches for 66 yards ). Although Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen dominate the targets, Osborn remains a viable fantasy option in deeper formats.
Oct 4, 2021
Four touches in loss
Osborn had three receptions for 26 yards on seven targets and had one carry for 10 yards in Sunday's loss to Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Osborn didn't produce many yards from scrimmage, but it was a positive sign he was second on the team in targets and used on a designed running play, especially after he had just two targets last week. Minnesota's offense struggled to move the ball against Cleveland's stout defense, so Osborn should improve next week against Detroit.
Sep 27, 2021
Just two receptions Sunday
Osborn had two receptions on two targets for 26 yards in Sunday's win over Seattle.
ANALYSIS
Osborn played on 44 of the offense's 75 snaps, the same percentage as Week 2. However, he saw just two targets after six and nine the prior two weeks. Meanwhile, Tyler Conklin had his first big week ( seven catches for 70 yards and a TD) which could be a minor negative as the Vikings may rotate their secondary targets after Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson.
Sep 19, 2021
Productive again Sunday
Osborn caught five of six targets for 91 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-33 loss to the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
The second-year wideout put together another big performance, leading the Vikings in receiving yards and scoring his first career NFL touchdown on a 64-yard strike from Kirk Cousins in the first quarter. Osborn is enjoying the lack of defensive attention that comes from lining up alongside Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen, and he'll look to continue his breakout campaign in Week 3 at home against the Seahawks.
Sep 12, 2021
Steps up as No. 3 WR
Osborn caught seven of nine targets for 76 yards in Sunday's 27-24 overtime loss to the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Osborn played just 119 special teams snaps and none on offense as a rookie last season, but the 2020 fifth-round pick improved dramatically in the offseason and is set to work as the Vikings' third wide receiver behind Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson. Thielen scored two touchdowns on a game-high 10 targets, while Jefferson and Osborn were both right behind him with nine targets apiece. Keeping this level of involvement will be tough as long as Thielen, Jefferson and running back Dalvin Cook stay healthy, but Osborn is a player to keep an eye on moving forward, including in Week 2 against the Cardinals.
Sep 1, 2021
Looks set as No. 3 WR
Osborn looks set to begin the season as the No. 3 wide receiver with Chad Beebe waived due to a foot injury and with Dede Westbrook only recently staring to practice in team drills, The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn could have a meaningful role in the offense initially with Beebe out of the picture, Westbrook unlikely to contribute right away and with Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer saying the offense may need to utilize three-receiver sets more due to tight end Irv Smith's knee injury. Osborn likely has a short window of opportunity since Westbrook could take over the role, Smith could return in a few weeks (his timetable is unclear) and Chris Herndon, who the Vikings traded for Tuesday, could get up to speed. The Vikings under Zimmer haven't typically utilized a third receiver much, but there's a chance Osborn could change their plans.
Aug 28, 2021
Another impressive preseason game
Osborn had three receptions on seven targets for 68 yards in Friday's preseason loss at Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
Osborn has drawn rave reviews from the coaching staff in training camp and played well in the preseason games, so he looks like the leading candidate for the third receiver role. However, Dede Westbrook (knee) ultimately may win the No. 3 job when he gains full clearance from the torn ACL he sustained in 2020. Chad Beebe also remains in the mix may be a better fit as the slot receiver. The third receiver role for the Vikings could be in flux early in the regular season.

Gets start at wide receiver
Osborn started at wide receiver and caught both his two targets for 27 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Osborn started opposite Adam Thielen with Justin Jefferson siting out as he comes back from a shoulder injury, which shows he has a lead on the third-receiver role. Osborn also returned one punt for four yards. He's in the mix to win the punt and kickoff roles as well. Osborn has drawn rave reviews in camp as well, so he could have a role in the offense, but Dede Westbrook (knee) may ultimately win the No. 3 receiver role when he gains full clearance from the torn ACL he sustained in 2020.

Has two receptions Saturday
Osborn had two receptions for 15 yards and also returned two kickoffs for a 31-yard average in Saturday's preseason loss to Denver.
ANALYSIS
Osborn is competing for the third receiver role with Chad Beebe and Dede Westbrook. He was listed as the No. 3 receiver on Minnesota's first unofficial depth chart of the preseason. He was one of the few players with a starting job or in competition for a starting job playing Saturday, likely to get him opportunities as a returner. Osborn could win the punt or kickoff return jobs along with a third- or fourth-receiver role.

Listed as No. 3 receiver
Osborn is listed as the No. 3 receiver on Minnesota's first unofficial depth chart of the preseason.
ANALYSIS
Osborn has drawn rave reviews in training camp, so this isn't a total surprise. He's listed with Chad Beebe as the No. 3 and No. 4 receivers, so there may not be much separation between the two. Dede Westbrook may ultimately win the No. 3 receiver role when he returns to full strength as he works his way back from a torn ACL. Osborn may not begin the season as the No 3 receiver as a result, but this shows he could have an increased role.

Makes good early impression
Osborn has had an impressive training camp, including catching a 50-yard reception in Saturday's scrimmage, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
He's more likely to make the final 53-man roster with Bisi Johnson out for the season with a knee injury. Osborn will face competition from Dede Westbrook for the punt return job he held much of last season. He is also likely behind Westbrook for the third receiver role. However, Osborn is a player to watch during the preseason given his early camp reports since he could make a large leap in his second season.

Sitting down for Week 12
Osborn (coach's decision) is inactive for Minnesota's Week 12 matchup against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Osborn leads the Vikings in both punt-return attempts (four) and kick-return attempts (13) thus far in 2020, but Tajae Sharpe has been activated and inserted above him at the No. 5 wide receiver spot. With Osborn out of the mix for Week 12, Ameer Abdullah and Chad Beebe are likely to garner opportunities in the return game.

Clear of hamstring issue
Osborn (hamstring) wasn't listed on Minnesota's injury report Wednesday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old missed the previous two games heading into the Week 7 bye, but he's practicing with no limitations after receiving the extra recovery time. Osborn should reclaim returning duties for the Vikings now that he's healthy.

Can't face Falcons
Osborn (hamstring) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Chad Graff of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn will miss his second game in a row due to a lingering hamstring injury. As long as he's sidelined, Chad Beebe will handle punt returns while Ameer Abdullah stands to return kickoffs.

Still sidelined due to hamstring
Osborn (hamstring) did not practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Osborn looks to be trending in the wrong direction for Sunday's game against the Falcons. If he's forced to miss a second straight contest due to his hamstring injury, Chad Beebe will once again return punts while Ameer Abdullah takes back kickoffs.

Inactive against Titans
Osborn is a healthy inactive for Sunday's game against Tennessee, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
ANALYSIS
With Osborn out, Chad Beebe will likely return punts with Ameer Abdullah likely to return kickoffs.
Sep 14, 2020
Handles kickoff returns
Osborn returned two kickoffs for an average of 32 yards in Sunday's loss to Green Bay.
ANALYSIS
Osborn didn't play a snap on offense as he'll be limited to special teams unless a receiver or two get hurt. It looks like he could make an impact as a returner if his first two returns are any indication.

Makes 53-man roster
Osborn made Minnesota's 53-man roster, The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Osborn was kept for his return skills and he'll likely begin the season as the team's punt returner and potentially the team's kickoff returner. Either way, he'll initially be a deep reserve on offense.
