Shines on special teams
Compher scored two goals, one on the power play and one shorthanded, in Thursday's 5-1 win over Chicago.
ANALYSIS
The 28-year-old opened the scoring early in the first period by converting a feed from Andrew Copp on the counterattack to spoil a Chicago power play, then Compher tapped home a pass from David Perron with the man advantage in the second. The former Colorado player caught fire in November with four goals and 13 points in 12 games, but Compher's surge was fueled in part by 36.4 percent shooting which isn't going to last, and he's one of the candidates to lose their spot on Detroit's top power-play unit once Patrick Kane (hip) is ready to go.

Big day on power play
Compher produced a goal and an assist, both on the power play, in Friday's 5-2 win over the Bruins.
ANALYSIS
He got Detroit on the board early in the first period before feeding Dylan Larkin for the team's fourth tally of the afternoon in the third. Compher had a sluggish start to his first season with the Red Wings but has caught fire in November, and over the last eight games he's racked up two goals and 10 points. Despite a regular shift on the top power-play unit though, he had only one point (an assist) on the man advantage coming into Friday.
Nov 23, 2023
Paving way to career season
Compher contributed an assist in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Devils.
ANALYSIS
After spending his first seven seasons in Colorado, there had been questions about how well Compher would adjust to a new team. But with three goals, 11 assists, and a plus-4 rating through 18 games, it's safe to say he's passed the early test. The second-line pivot has just one power-play point (an assist), though he looks firmly entrenched on the secondary man-advantage unit.
Nov 17, 2023
Snags two assists
Compher picked up two helpers in Thursday's 5-4 defeat to Ottawa.
ANALYSIS
Compher extended his point streak to five straight games, giving him one goal and six helpers over that stretch. Despite averaging 1:51 of power-play ice time this season, only one of the Illinois native's 13 points this season has come with the man advantage. Compher entered 2023-24 on the heels of a career-best 52-point campaign and is on pace to top that mark this year as well.

Tallies assist as Wings hang on
Compher registered an assist in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Blue Jackets.
ANALYSIS
Compher takes an active four-game point streak to Sweden, where the Red Wings take part in the NHL Global Series, starting with Thursday's clash with the Senators and wrapping up again against the Maple Leafs on Friday. For Detroit, most of the excitement in the offseason centered around the acquisition of Alex DeBrincat, who is currently rocking a point-per-game pace. But Compher shouldn't be lost in the shuffle, as he's banked three goals, eight assists and a plus-4 rating through 15 games for a career-best pace.
Oct 31, 2023
Has two-point game Monday
Compher recorded a goal and an assist in Detroit's 4-3 overtime win over the Islanders on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Compher found the back of the net midway through the third period to put Detroit up 3-2. He also provided the primary assist on Lucas Raymond's overtime winner. Compher has two goals and six points in 10 outings this year. He got off to a hot start, contributing four points over his first three contests of the campaign, but the 28-year-old followed that with a six-game scoring slump. Some of that might be him adjusting to playing for Detroit after previously having only worked for the Avalanche at the NHL level, but Compher has a big role with the Red Wings as a mainstay on the top six, so he should average to have a solid campaign offensively.

Drops two points in home opener
Compher registered a goal and an assist in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Lightning.
ANALYSIS
Compher broke a tie with a tip-in goal in the second period and also supplied a helper on an empty-net tally to secure the win in Detroit's home opener. A versatile third-line pivot, Compher is off to a strong start with the Winged Wheel; he's contributed a goal and two assists, including a power-play apple, through his first pair of games in red and white. Compher had spent parts of seven campaigns in Colorado with 2022-23 featuring a career-high 52 points.
Oct 13, 2023
Earns power-play helper
Compher recorded a power-play assist in Thursday's 4-3 defeat to New Jersey.
ANALYSIS
Compher recorded his first point for the Red Wings after signing a five-year contract with the club during the offseason. It was a career year for the 28-year-old center, having set personal bests in assists (35), points (52) and power-play goals (five). Slotted into a top-six role for Detroit, Compher will have every opportunity to match those numbers this season.
Jul 1, 2023
Agrees to five-year deal
Compher signed a five-year, $25.5 million contract with Detroit on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Compher had 17 goals and 52 points in 82 contests with the Avalanche in 2022-23. That was the first time the 28-year-old forward even reached the 40-point milestone, so he has plenty to prove going into this contract. Detroit will likely give Compher an opportunity to do that by giving him a top-six role.
Apr 24, 2023
Grabs power-play helper
Compher notched a power-play assist, two shots on goal and three blocked shots in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Kraken in Game 4.
ANALYSIS
Compher has a shorthanded goal and a power-play helper through four playoff contests, showing off his value on special teams. The 28-year-old center has added 10 shots on net, seven blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating. He remains firmly entrenched as the second-line center.
Apr 22, 2023
Nets shorthanded marker
Compher scored a shorthanded goal on three shots and went plus-2 in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Kraken in the Game 3.
ANALYSIS
Compher and the Avalanche needed that goal. It snapped a five-game point drought for the 28-year-old, who tied the game at 1-1 late in the first period. Compher will be called upon to be strong all over the ice as the second-line center. He had a career year with 52 points, 154 shots on net and 84 blocked shots in 82 regular-season outings.
Apr 9, 2023
Ends seven-game goal-scoring slump
Compher provided a goal in Colorado's 5-4 overtime win over Anaheim on Sunday.
ANALYSIS

Apr 8, 2023
Adds helper Saturday
Compher produced an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Compher has three assists over his last five games, but no goals in his last seven contests. He set up Denis Malgin on the opening tally early in the second period Saturday. Compher is up to 51 points, 148 shots on net, 80 blocked shots, 31 PIM and a plus-9 rating through 78 outings, primarily working as the second-line center.
Apr 2, 2023
Faceoff win leads to PPG
Compher had a power-play assist, two shots on goal and four penalty minutes over 22:16 of ice time in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Stars.
ANALYSIS
Compher's offensive-zone faceoff win led to Nathan MacKinnon's game-winning goal on the power play. With the helper, Compher's seventh point in the last eight contests, he's reached the 50-point threshold for the first time in his career. He didn't start the season as a member of the top power-play unit, but the center worked himself into that role when the Avalanche were beset by injuries throughout November and December. The 27-year-old has a career-high 14 power-play points
Mar 29, 2023
Slings helper Wednesday
Compher notched an assist in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Wild.
ANALYSIS
Compher has two goals and four assists over his last seven games. He set up a Bowen Byram tally shortly after the defenseman exited the box from a first-period penalty. Compher is up to 49 points (16 goals, 33 helpers), 143 shots on net, 77 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating through 74 contests overall.
Mar 24, 2023
Scores power-play goal
Compher supplies a power-play goal in Colorado's 3-1 win over Arizona on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Compher extended his scoring streak to four games, and he has two goals and five points in that span. His latest marker was tallied midway through the third period to push Colorado ahead 3-1. It was his 16th goal and 47th point in 70 outings this season. The 27-year-old has already established a new career high in points, and he's just two goals away from matching his personal best in that category.
Mar 22, 2023
Produces two points
Compher scored a goal on three shots and added a power-play assist in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Penguins.
ANALYSIS
Compher has an assist in three straight games, and he added a goal for the first time in five contests. The 27-year-old forward has seen his scoring pace drop noticeably in March -- he has six points through 12 outings this month. For the season, he's at 15 goals, 47 points, 135 shots, 74 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating through 70 appearances.
Mar 20, 2023

Feb 27, 2023
Supplies helper in win
Compher logged an assist, three shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-2 in Monday's 3-0 win over the Golden Knights.
ANALYSIS
Compher set up the second of Mikko Rantanen's two tallies in the game. In February, Compher has filled the second-line center role well with two goals and nine assists through 10 contests. The 27-year-old now has 41 points, 115 shots on net, 68 blocks and a plus-7 rating through 58 outings overall in what's easily been the best year of his career.
Feb 24, 2023
Reaches 40-point mark

ANALYSIS
Compher has multiple points in each of his last three outings, picking up two goals and six assists with a plus-7 rating in that span. The 27-year-old has benefited from a small change to the Avalanche's top six, which has seen him partnered with Mikko Rantanen on the second line. Compher has a career-best 40 points (12 goals, 28 helpers), with 111 shots on net, 64 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating through 56 contests overall.
Feb 20, 2023
Leads comeback win
Compher scored a goal and assisted on three others in Sunday's 6-5 overtime win over Edmonton.
ANALYSIS
Compher's second-period tally initiated Colorado's comeback from a 3-0 deficit. He had a hand in the final three goals -- two in regulation and on Mikko Rantanen's OT-winner. The second-line center has six points over the last two games and is averaging nearly a point per game since late December, registering 22 points over 24 contests.
Feb 18, 2023
Two-point effort against St. Louis
Compher collected two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Blues.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old had a hand in the Avs' first and last goals of the afternoon. Compher's top-six role and spot on the second power-play unit has led to five multi-point performances in the last 16 games, but only three goals and 12 points in total over that stretch as his production remains erratic. Even so, he's already put together a career-best season with 34 points (10 goals, 24 helpers) in 54 contests.
Feb 12, 2023
Bags two apples in win
Compher had two assists, three shots on goal and three blocked shots over 21:23 of ice time in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Compher, from behind the net, found Matt Nieto in tight quarters for Colorado's second goal then helped on Nathan MacKinnon's empty-netter. The first assist established a new career high in helpers, and the developing forward now has 22 on the campaign. Compher's 32 points overall leaves him just one short of the career high he set last season over 70 games.
Jan 29, 2023
Reaches double digits in win
Compher scored a goal on four shots and blocked one shot over 19:45 of ice time in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Blues.
ANALYSIS
Compher was in the right spot to pounce on a rebound of a Samuel Girard shot for Colorado's second goal of the first period. The goal, Compher's 10th, snapped a five-game stretch without a tally, but he's been productive offensively while the Avalanche navigate injuries up front. He has 14 points over the last 17 games and stands at 30 points for the season, just three shy of the career-best 33 he had over 70 games last season. He appears to be settled in on the second line and is averaging a career-high 20:16 TOI.
Jan 20, 2023
Supplies 20th helper
Compher notched a power-play assist in Friday's 4-1 win over the Canucks.
ANALYSIS
Compher has gotten on the scoresheet in three straight games, logging a goal and four helpers in that span. He set up a Valeri Nichushkin tally early in the second period Friday. Compher is fast approaching his career-high 33 points from last season -- he's at nine goals and 20 helpers through 44 contests in 2022-23. The 27-year-old has added 84 shots on net, 43 blocked shots and nine power-play points while filling a top-six role regularly for the first time in his career.
Jan 18, 2023
Gets two assists Wednesday
Compher recorded two assists in a 4-1 win against Calgary on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Compher provided the primary assist on each of Mikko Rantanen's two goals. Compher has nine goals and 28 points in 43 contests in 2022-23. He was held off the scoresheet for five of six games from Jan. 2-14, but the 27-year-old's turned a corner with a goal and four points in his last two contests.
Jan 17, 2023
One of each in win
Compher scored a power-play and added an even-strength assist in Monday's 6-3 win over Detroit. He also had two shots on goal and one hit over 17:03 of ice time.
ANALYSIS
Compher was the secondary assistant on a Cale Makar goal, then potted his fourth power-play tally on a feed from Evan Rodrigues. With Valeri Nichushkin returning from an ankle injury, he joined Compher on the second line along with Mikko Rantanen. That pair of offensive forwards, plus a presence on the power play, could lift Compher's offense while the Avalanche navigate around Gabriel Landeskog's knee injury. The 27-year-old center has 26 points (nine goals, 17 assists) through 42 games, seven points shy of the career-high 33 points he had in 70 contests last year, when he was primarily on the third line.
Jan 10, 2023
Two-point effort in Tuesday's loss
Compher scored a goal on five shots, dished an assist, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Compher ended a three-game point drought. Prior to that skid, he'd gotten on the scoresheet in four straight outings, so he's been a bit streaky lately. For the season, the 27-year-old center is up to eight goals, 16 assists, 77 shots on net, 39 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating through 39 contests. With Mikko Rantanen on his wing, Compher may have a bit more fantasy appeal in the short term.
Dec 31, 2022

ANALYSIS
Compher's marker came at 17:28 of the first period and narrowed Toronto's lead to 2-1. He has seven goals and 21 points in 35 games in 2022-23. Compher extended his scoring streak to four contests, and he has three goals and six points over that span.
Dec 29, 2022
Buries power-play tally
Compher scored a power-play goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Thursday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Compher has two goals, two assists and 11 shots on goal in his last three games. He's been a solid fit as the top-line center recently, but he'll likely be moving down the lineup or onto the wing once Nathan MacKinnon (upper body) returns. Compher is up to six tallies, 20 points (seven on the power play), 62 shots on net, 33 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating through 34 contests this season.
Dec 27, 2022
Dishes pair of helpers
Compher registered two assists, four shots on goal and a minus-3 rating in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Coyotes.
ANALYSIS
Compher picked up one assist on the power play, his first production with the man advantage since Dec. 1. The 27-year-old is seeing top-line usage with the Avalanche missing three of their regular top-six forwards. He has five goals, 14 helpers, 58 shots on net, 31 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating through 33 appearances this season.
Dec 24, 2022
Scores game-tying goal
Compher scored a goal on three shots in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Predators. He added one blocked shot over 24:50 of ice time.
ANALYSIS
Compher, positioned in front of Jusse Saros, tipped in Artturi Lehkonen's shot from the blue line for the game-tying goal with five minutes left in regulation. The goal snapped a four-game pointless stretch for Compher, who continues to fill as the top-line center with Nathan MacKinnon (upper body) sidelined. Compher has four goals and five assists in nine games since Dec. 1, when he was given a larger role due to injuries.
Dec 18, 2022
Fires six shots in win
Compher had six shots on goal, one hit and four blocked shots over 22:36 of ice time in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Predators.
ANALYSIS
Compher was the first-line center, skating between Artturi Lehkonen and Mikko Rantanen. It's an alignment Colorado head coach Jared Bednar put together during Friday's practice and stuck with it Saturday. This was the ninth consecutive game with more than 20 minutes TOI for Compher, who is averaging 23:01 while posting eight points during that stretch. With Gabriel Landeskog (knee) and Nathan MacKinnon (upper body) out until early January, Compher is expected to remain in a top-six role for a few more weeks.
Dec 17, 2022
Practices on top line
Compher skated on the first line during Friday's practice, Brennan Vogt of Colorado Hockey Now reports.
ANALYSIS
Compher stepped up his production while Colorado navigated several injuries to its forwards. He has three goals and five assists while averaging 23:056 TOI over the last eight games. He's also been good at the dot, winning nearly 55 percent of his draws, including 71 percent in Thursday's loss to the Sabres. With some of the injured personnel returning to the ice, it looks like head coach Jared Bednar is looking to fill out the scoring among the top two lines. Valeri Nichushkin slipped down to the second line at practice, leaving Compher to skate with Finnish wingers Mikko Rantanen and Artturi Lehkonen.
Dec 13, 2022
Earns one of each in win
Compher scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Flyers.
ANALYSIS
Compher set up Devon Toews' game-tying tally in the second period before scoring the game-winner himself in the third. This was Compher's third multi-point effort in the last 10 games, a span in which he has three goals and seven assists. For the season, the 27-year-old is up to four tallies, 16 points, 39 shots, 24 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating in 27 appearances. He'll likely continue to be leaned on heavily as the Avalanche navigate a brutal stretch of injuries to key forwards.
Dec 6, 2022
Leads forwards in TOI
Compher had an assist, three shots on goal, one hit and one blocked shot over a forward-high 25:34 of ice time in Monday's 5-3 loss to Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
The injured Avalanche suffered another one during the game; Nathan MacKinnon left with an upper-body injury midway through the first period. That opened up a spot on the top line, which Compher filled. He'll continue in a top-six role if some the injured don't return in time for Wednesday's home game against the Bruins. The composition of the lines heading into Wednesday is up in the air. Colorado placed both Alex Galchenyuk and Jayson Megna on waivers -- oddly enough, each was in the lineup Monday while officially being on waivers -- which suggests Valeri Nichushkin (ankle), Artturi Lehkonen (upper body) or Jean-Luc Foudy (lower body) could be set to return.
Dec 1, 2022
Four points against Buffalo
Compher scored two goals, one on the power play and the other the game-winner, and added two assists in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Sabres.
ANALYSIS
His second tally of the night, coming late in the second period, gave the Avs a 5-3 lead. It was a career-best performance for Compher, who had picked up three points in a game on four occasions, and after a slow start to the season the 27-year-old has three goals and 11 points over his last 12 games.
Nov 23, 2022
Picks up two assists Wednesday
Compher registered two assists in a 4-3 loss to Vancouver on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Compher has only been held off the scoresheet once in his last four games. He's up to a goal and eight points in 18 contests this season. The 27-year-old forward has never recorded more than 33 points in a season, so while he's hot right now it's best to temper your long-term expectations for him.
Nov 20, 2022
Helps on goal
Compher had an assist, one shot on net and one blocked shot over 16:43 of ice time in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Capitals.
ANALYSIS
Compher was part of extended time in the offensive zone and picked up his second assist in as many games. The third-line center has five points over the last seven games after logging just one assist over the season's first nine contests.
Nov 18, 2022
Slides assist on winner
Compher had an assist and blocked one shot over 19:13 of ice time in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over Carolina.
ANALYSIS
Compher found Artturi Lehkonen on the wing, ready to shoot, in overtime for the game-winning score. The third-line center provided scoring depth for the Avalanche last season, when he registered a career-high 18 goals and 33 points, but is off to a slow start with just five points over 15 games.
Nov 10, 2022
Dishes two assists
Compher produced two assists, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Predators.
ANALYSIS
Compher helped out on both of Logan O'Connor's goals in the contest. This was just the third time in 12 games Compher has gotten on the scoresheet, and it was his first multi-point effort. The 27-year-old forward has a goal, three assists, 13 shots on net, nine blocked shots and a plus-1 rating while playing more of a defensive role in the middle six.
Nov 4, 2022
Secures first tally
Compher scored a first-period goal during a 6-3 victory over the Blue Jackets on Friday in Finland.
ANALYSIS
Compher, who collected his first point in seven games, took advantage of earning 1:39 of power-play time, converting his first goal in 10 outings. Compher's man-advantage marker gave the Avalanche a 2-0 lead at 12:27 of the first period Friday. The 27-year-old forward contributed two shots during the Global Series matchup.
Oct 17, 2022
Picks up helper Monday
Compher produced an assist, two shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Monday's 6-3 win over the Wild.
ANALYSIS
Compher has opened the season as the Avalanche's third-line center, and it's limited his offense. The assist was his first point of the year to go with three shots on net, three hits, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in three contests. The 27-year-old had a career year with 33 points in 70 games in 2021-22, but a lack of power-play time this year will likely have a negative impact on his ability to repeat that effort.
Oct 6, 2022
Should be ready next week
Compher (undisclosed) should be ready when the regular season begins next Wednesday against Chicago, Adrian Dater of Colorado Hockey Now reports.
ANALYSIS
Compher wore a non-contact sweater during Wednesday's workout, and head coach Jared Bednar was optimistic about his availability next week. The center should fill a middle-six role after pocketing a career-high 18 goals in 2021-22.
Oct 5, 2022
Scheduled for full practice
Compher (undisclosed) should be a full participant in Saturday's practice, Adrian Dater of ColoradoHockeyNow.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Compher missed two days of practice earlier in the week, but it appears he won't be sidelined much longer. The 27-year-old figures to play a middle-six role for the Avalanche this year, and if he can get into a couple of practices without setbacks, he should be ready for Wednesday's regular-season opener versus the Blackhawks.
Oct 5, 2022
Spotted in non-contact jersey
Compher (undisclosed) wore a non-contact jersey during Wednesday's practice, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Although it's encouraging to see him on the ice in any capacity, at this point it isn't clear if Compher will be available for Colorado's regular-season opener versus the Blackhawks next Wednesday. The 27-year-old pivot notched 18 goals and 33 points through 70 contests last campaign.
Oct 3, 2022
Misses practice again Monday
Compher was absent from practice for the second straight day Monday, Adrian Dater of ColoradoHockeyNow.com reports
ANALYSIS
The Avs have yet to provide any sort of update on Compher's status or the nature of his undisclosed injury, raising doubts regarding his availability versus the Blackhawks for Opening Night on Oct. 12. Once ready to play, Compher figures to serve in a third-line role but should challenge for more responsibilities, possibly even moving into the top-six.
Jun 15, 2022
Pockets assist in Game 1 win
Compher recorded an assist, four shots on goal and two blocked shots in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Lightning in Game 1.
ANALYSIS
Compher had the secondary helper on Andre Burakovsky's game-winning goal 1:23 into overtime. With Nazem Kadri (thumb) sidelined, Compher got a turn as the second-line center in Wednesday's contest. The 27-year-old has earned a larger role with five goals and an assist in his last six games, accounting for six of his eight points in 15 playoff outings overall.
Jun 4, 2022
Nets game-winner Saturday
Compher scored a goal on three shots, logged two hits and added two PIM in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Oilers in Game 3.
ANALYSIS
Compher tripped Leon Draisaitl midway through the third period, but the Avalanche were able to kill the penalty. Coming out of the box, Compher got loose and tallied a goal that he wasn't even sure went in past Oilers goalie Mike Smith, which stood as the decisive marker. After a slow start to the postseason, Compher has five goals in his last four games. He's at seven points, 15 shots, 13 hits and a minus-1 rating through 13 playoff outings. He'll likely be asked to take on a larger role going forward with Nazem Kadri (undisclosed) out for the remainder of the Western Conference Finals.
May 31, 2022
Scores twice in crazy Game 1 win
Compher scored a pair of goals on three shots and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 8-6 win over the Oilers in Game 1.
ANALYSIS
In a game that saw the two teams combine for 14 goals, it's a little surprising Compher was the only player to tally twice. This is his second straight two-goal game as he continues to shake off a slow start to the playoffs. The 27-year-old has four tallies, two assists, 12 shots on net, 11 hits and a minus-2 rating in 11 postseason outings.
May 27, 2022
Nets first two goals of playoffs
Compher scored a pair of goals, including one on the power play, in Friday's 3-2 win over the Blues in Game 6.
ANALYSIS
Compher's play has lagged in the postseason, but he came up clutch with a pair of game-tying tallies in this contest. He only saw 9:09 of ice time, his lowest workload in the playoffs, and his goals were his first points in six games during the second round. The 27-year-old has added two helpers, nine shots on net, 10 hits and a minus-2 rating in a bottom-six role in 10 playoff outings overall.

He's added two shots on net, three hits and a minus-1 rating, playing a smaller role on the third line that has yet to lead to much offense.

Sets new career high in points
Compher scored a goal on five shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Predators.
ANALYSIS
Compher was back in a third-line role with the return of Mikko Rantanen (illness). It didn't stop Compher from stretching his point streak to five games (two goals, four helpers) with a second-period tally, but his was the last goal the Avalanche scored. The forward has a career-high 33 points (18 tallies, 15 assists) with 101 shots on net, a plus-10 rating and 55 blocked shots through 69 outings this season.

Apr 22, 2022
Assists in consecutive games
Compher posted an assist, three blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Oilers.
ANALYSIS
Compher has earned two assists in as many games since he was bumped up to the second line with Mikko Rantanen (illness) out. Through 66 outings, Compher has 16 goals, 13 assists, 93 shots on net, 54 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating. He has an outside chance to match his career high of 32 points from the 2018-19 campaign if he can stay warm through the final week of the regular season.
Apr 20, 2022
Records helper
Compher notched an assist in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Kraken.
ANALYSIS
Compher has five points in nine games in April, but he's only gotten on the scoresheet in three of those contests. The 27-year-old forward has 16 tallies, 28 points, 93 shots on net, 51 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating in 65 outings overall. He'll likely continue to serve in a middle-six role.

ANALYSIS
Compher snapped a four-game point drought early with his 15th goal at the seven-minute mark of the first period. He added his 16th marker, matching his career high set in 2018, just under two minutes into the second stanza. Compher has seven more games to set a new career benchmark in goals.

Contributes twice in win
Compher scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Penguins. He also had a hit and finished plus-3 over 17:49 of ice time.
ANALYSIS
Compher's goal came when he cleaned up a loose puck after Alex Newhook was denied by Tristan Jarry. He later assisted on Josh Manson's tally. Injuries have taken out Gabriel Landeskog (knee) and Nazem Kadri (upper body), which prompted line changes that include Compher getting top-six minutes the last two games.
Apr 3, 2022
Promoted to second line
Compher had one shot and two blocked shots over 14:50 of ice time in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Penguins.
ANALYSIS
Compher moved up to the second line in the Avalanche's first game without Nazem Kadri (upper body), who could miss several games. He's filled in on the second line previously this season, so there's some level of familiarity, although that line now features newcomer Artturi Lehkonen.
Mar 28, 2022
Slips primary helper in loss
Compher had an assist, one shot on net and two penalty minutes in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Compher set up a Nazem Kadri tally for his third point in the last two games. He's now skating on the second line with Kadri and Andre Burakovsky, which could trigger a scoring surge for the usually third-line forward. Compher has 23 points (13 goals, 10 assists) over 54 games.
Mar 25, 2022
Goal and assist Friday
Compher scored a goal on four shots, dished an assist and blocked two shots in Friday's 6-3 win over the Flyers.
ANALYSIS
Compher's pair of points came in the first period, as he and Nazem Kadri set up each other's tallies. This was Compher's second straight game on the second line, and it appears to have sparked his offense a bit. The 26-year-old is at 22 points, 79 shots on net, 44 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in 53 contests. He's seen middle-six minutes throughout the season, but playing along Kadri should raise Compher's scoring profile.
Mar 24, 2022
Takes turn on second line
Compher one shot on net and finished minus-2 over 17:19 of ice time in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Canucks.
ANALYSIS
Compher took a turn with the second line while Valeri Nichushkin continued to fill in for the injured Gabriel Landeskog (knee) on the top line. Alex Newhook and Logan O'Connor worked on the Nazem Kadri line before Compher was promoted Wednesday. When Artturi Lehkonen (immigration papers) becomes available for Friday's home game against the Flyers, more line tweaks are expected.

Tips in power-play goal
Compher scored a power-play goal on two shots and added two hits in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Compher got a piece of a Cale Makar shot just before the second intermission to double the Avalanche's lead. In his last 13 games, Compher has scored four times on 19 shots, though he's not adding much else on the stat sheet. The 26-year-old is up to 20 points, 72 shots, 42 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating through 49 appearances -- a slightly better scoring pace than his 18 points in 48 contests last year.
Mar 7, 2022
Bulges twine in win
Compher scored a goal and blocked four shots in Monday's 5-4 win over the Islanders.

The Illinois native is up to 11 goals, 19 points, 65 shots on net, 39 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating through 45 appearances. Three of his tallies have come in the last nine games.
Feb 26, 2022
Tips in equalizer
Compher scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Golden Knights.
ANALYSIS
Compher tallied at 5:40 of the third period, tying the game at 2-2 as he tipped in a Jack Johnson shot. It was not a good February for Compher -- he posted two goals in 10 outings. The 26-year-old is up to 18 points in 41 contests, matching his output from 48 games last year, but he hasn't had much luck in generating offense from a third-line role.
Feb 20, 2022
Snaps drought in win
Compher scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Sabres. He added one hit and one blocked shot over 15:15 of ice time.
ANALYSIS
Compher got on his horse and outraced, then outmuscled Buffalo's Jacob Bryson, for a puck. His shot was initially saved by Dustin Tokarski, but the rebound bounced up in air and landed behind the goalie for the Avalanche's second goal. The goal snapped a six-game point and goal drought for Compher, who's up to nine goals and 17 points through 37 games.
Feb 16, 2022
Another quiet night
Compher had two shots on net over 12:21 of ice time in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Compher continues to work hard at both ends of the ice, but it was another quiet night for the bottom-six forward. He opened the season as if he were ready to take his offensive game up a notch and become a depth scorer, but Compher has just five points in 21 games since Colorado resumed its season Jan. 2.
Jan 28, 2022
Gets in on action
Compher added a goal and an assist in a 6-4 win over the Blackhawks on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Compher had gone three games without a point, a relative rarity on such a high-scoring offense. The center has just five points in 15 January contests, so a new calendar month could do him some good.
Jan 20, 2022
Logs painful assist
Compher had an assist, one shot on net and two blocked shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
One of Compher's blocked shots led to Colorado's third goal. Just as a Los Angeles power play was ending, Compher blocked a slapshot, which sent him to the ice in pain. The carom went to Logan O'Connor, who forwarded the puck to Nicolas Aube-Kubel as the forward left the penalty box, and he slipped a wrister past Jonathan Quick on a breakaway. It was the second straight game with a helper for Compher, who stayed in the game following the block.
Jan 19, 2022
Contributes helper in win
Compher notched an assist in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Ducks.
ANALYSIS
Compher set up Nazem Kadri's empty-net tally in the win. The 26-year-old Compher had gone five games without a point, and he has just two goals and two assists in his last 13 appearances. The forward is at 13 points in 25 contests overall, but his reduced scoring rate since moving back into a third-line role limits his fantasy value to deeper formats.
Jan 9, 2022
Sends game into OT
Compher scored a goal on his only shot and had two hits in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Compher completed the Avalanche's come back from a 4-1 deficit when he buried a pretty feed from Mikko Rantanen that tied the game and set up overtime. It was Compher's first point since Colorado's season resumed a week ago. He's been a secondary source of scoring, filling in any of the top three lines and has seven goals over 19 games.
Dec 26, 2021
Off COVID-19 list
Compher cleared COVID-19 protocols Sunday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Compher should be back in action for Wednesday's matchup with the Stars. The 26-year-old forward has six goals and 11 points through 15 games this season.
Dec 16, 2021
Won't play Thursday
Compher is in the league's COVID-19 protocols and will not play Thursday at Nashville, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Andre Burakovsky is out Thursday for the same reason, forcing the team to roll with 11 forwards and six defensemen against the Predators. Compher has been productive when able to play this season, posting 11 points in 15 games.
Dec 14, 2021
Picks up assist
Compher notched an assist, two shots and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Rangers.
ANALYSIS
A Nazem Kadri shot deflected off of Compher and fell to Valeri Nichushkin for the Avalanche's third goal of the game. Compher won't get many assists easier than that one. The 26-year-old is now at 11 points, 27 shots on net and a plus-2 rating through 15 contests this season. He's been effective playing on either of the top two line, and he can fill in at center or wing as necessary.
Dec 10, 2021
Scores in return
Compher (upper body) scored a goal and added two hits in Friday's 7-3 win over the Red Wings.
ANALYSIS
Compher missed 11 games, and he logged 16:06 of ice time in his return. The 26-year-old started in a third-line role, but Gabriel Landeskog (lower body) exited early, forcing Compher into a larger role. He's picked up six goals, four assists, 25 shots on net and a plus-1 rating in 13 contests, so he could be a candidate to move into the top six if Landeskog or Nazem Kadri (lower body) aren't ready to return Sunday versus the Panthers.
Dec 10, 2021
Ready to rock
Compher (upper body) will be activated off injured reserve and return to the lineup for Friday's game versus the Red Wings.
ANALYSIS
Compher's expected to return to a prominent role following his 11-game absence, skating on Colorado's second line and second power-play unit against Detroit. The 26-year-old forward has tallied nine points through 12 contests this season.
Nov 29, 2021
Could join team during trip
Compher (upper body) has been placed on injured reserve, per the NHL media site, but could link up with the team during its five-game road trip, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Compher has already missed six games due to his upper-body issue and figures to be sidelined for at least a couple more even if he does eventually link up with the team. With Nathan MacKinnon (lower body) poised to return to action, the Avs shouldn't see a significant drop off down the middle of the lineup with Compher unavailable.
Nov 15, 2021
Will miss about a month
Compher (upper body) is expected to miss approximately a month, per coach Jared Bednar, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
After Compher sustained the injury Saturday, Bednar said he could be out a couple days, or much longer. Turns out the answer is "much longer," as Compher's expected to remain sidelined until mid-December. With Nathan MacKinnon (lower body) in the midst of a multi-week absence, Nazem Kadri will likely center Colorado's top line and No. 1 power-play unit for the foreseeable future.
Nov 14, 2021
Unknown timetable
Colorado head coach Jared Bednar said Compher (upper body) "pulled something" and could be out a couple days "or much longer," Adrian Dater of Colorado Hockey Now reports.
ANALYSIS
The Avalanche caught the injury bug early this season. Compher, who filled on on the first line for Nathan MacKinnon (lower body), is the second center to suffer an injury. More should be learned in the coming days, and Compher has a few days to get ready for the next game, Wednesday in Vancouver.
Nov 13, 2021
Injured Saturday
Compher left Saturday's game against San Jose with an upper-body injury and will not return, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Colorado is off until Wednesday in Vancouver so Compher will have some extra time to heal up. The 26-year-old has nine points through 12 games on the year. An update on his status should be available in the coming days.
Nov 11, 2021
Tallies in top-line twirl
Compher scored a power-play goal on two shots in Thursday's 7-1 win over the Canucks.
ANALYSIS
Filling in for Nathan MacKinnon (lower body) on the first line, Compher struck on the power play in the third period. While he won't replace MacKinnon's superstar-level offense, the advanced role makes Compher an attractive add in fantasy. He's already produced 10 points, 25 shots on net and a plus-1 rating in 11 contests this year, frequently moving up the lineup as necessary due to the Avalanche's bad run of injury luck.
Nov 10, 2021
Elevates to top line
Compher will replace Nathan MacKinnon (lower body) as the top-line center for Thursday's game against the Canucks, Adrian Dater of Colorado Hockey Now reports.
ANALYSIS
With MacKinnon projected to miss about three weeks, Compher gets the first crack to skate on the top line with Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen. The 26-year-old forward leads Colorado with five goals, and his nine points are second only to MacKinnon, Landeskog and Nazem Kadri.
Nov 3, 2021
Tips in goal
Compher scored a goal on two shots in Wednesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.
ANALYSIS

Compher has picked up three goals and two helpers in his last three games while playing a more prominent role. The 26-year-old has nine points, 22 shots, six PIM and a plus-1 rating through nine contests overall.
Oct 31, 2021
Ascends to top line
Compher moved up to the first line for the third period of Saturday's 4-1 win over the Wild.
ANALYSIS
Compher received the in-game promotion when Andre Burakovsky didn't come out for the third period due to a lower-body injury. He notched two assists, including one on the power play, during the final stanza. Compher is enjoying a steady run as a top-six forward this season with eight points in eight games while averaging a career-high 3:56 on the power play.
Oct 30, 2021
Notches two helpers
Compher produced two assists and two shots on goal in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Wild.
ANALYSIS
Compher helped the Avalanche secure the win, assisting on Nazem Kadri's power-play goal and Gabriel Landeskog's empty-netter, both in the third period. Through eight games, Compher has four goals, four helpers, 20 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating. The 26-year-old plays in a depth role for the Avalanche, but time on the top power-play unit should make him stick out more in standard fantasy formats.
Oct 28, 2021
Hot start continues
Compher scored two goals -- one on the power play -- on five shots in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Blues.
ANALYSIS
Compher doubled his season goal total by potting his team's first two tallies of the night. The first one tied the game late in the opening frame, and Compher's power-play goal 11:33 into the second period gave the Avalanche a lead they wouldn't relinquish the rest of the way. With Colorado's top forwards healthy, Compher's settling in as a quality middle-six contributor, as he's already up to six points through seven games after totaling 18 in 48 appearances last season.
Oct 19, 2021
Logs another two-point game
Compher scored a short-handed goal and picked up an assist in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to Washington. He also had two hits and two shots.
ANALYSIS
Compher produced his second consecutive two-point effort, getting the Avalanche on the board with a short-handed tally in the first period and setting up Mikko Rantanen's power-play goal in the third. Compher has two goals and two assists through his first three games while being entrusted with better than 20 minutes of ice time per night.
Oct 16, 2021
Fuels late rally
Compher scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Blues.
ANALYSIS
The center set up Tyson Jost before scoring a goal of his own in a span of 1:42 late in the third period. While the Avalanche came up short, it was encouraging to see Compher get on the scoresheet. He's produced seven shots, four PIM and a plus-2 rating in two games this year while seeing a more advanced role with Nathan MacKinnon (COVID-19 protocols) out.
Oct 9, 2021
Facing expectations
Colorado head coach Jared Bednar needs "a bounce-back year" from Compher, Scott MacDonald of Colorado Hockey Now reports.
ANALYSIS
Compher spent last season playing a variety of roles, sometimes getting minimal minutes on the third or fourth lines, as Bednar tried to get the five-year veteran going. He had a breakout campaign in 2018-19, when he pocketed 16 goals and registered 32 points, both career highs. Since then, Compher has not achieved a level of consistency, something not lost on the player. "I've had success in this league in different spurts, but consistency is key," Compher said. "I think as a player in this league, the more consistent you are, the better you can help your team and you're going to be able to consistently make an impact." Compher will be positioned to establish that consistency this season; the winger is expected to start the season on the second line with Nazem Kadri and Andre Burakovsky.
Jun 6, 2021
Registers helper in loss
Compher posted an assist, three shots on goal and two PIM in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 4.
ANALYSIS
Compher helped out on a Brandon Saad goal in the first period. Their line with Andre Burakovsky had a good showing, but the rest of the Avalanche's offense was smothered by the Golden Knights' defense. Compher has just two points, 12 shots on net, 10 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through eight playoff games.
May 21, 2021
Deposits shorthanded empty-netter
Compher scored a shorthanded empty-net goal and went plus-3 in Friday's 5-1 win over the Blues in Game 3.
ANALYSIS
Compher filled the empty cage to solidify the Avalanche's third win of the first-round series. It was his first postseason point this year. The 26-year-old has added three shots on net and a plus-4 rating in a middle-six role. Compher got the first chance to fill the second-line center role after Nazem Kadri was suspended for eight games after a headshot in Game 2. Should Compher struggle on a scoring line, Tyson Jost is also an option for the role, and there's a chance the two could be interchanged throughout the playoffs.

Nets first NHL hat trick
Compher scored three goals in Wednesday's 6-0 win over the Kings.
ANALYSIS

The 26-year-old Compher has just two assists in his last 10 games -- the poor performance has kept him limited to bottom-six duties. Mar 8, 2021
Remains unavailable Monday
Compher (upper body) will be sidelined against Arizona on Monday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Compher will miss his second straight contest due to his upper-body issue. In his previous six outings, the 25-year-old center has registered on goal on 12 shots, one assist and two blocks while averaging 15:12 of ice time. Mar 6, 2021
Sitting out Saturday
Compher (upper body) has been ruled out for Saturday's game versus the Ducks, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.

Through 18 games, Compher has four points, 19 blocked shots, 15 hits and 15 PIM in a bottom-six role. He hasn't done enough to justify a fantasy roster spot.

Breaks drought with goal
Compher scored a goal on four shots in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the Wild.
ANALYSIS
Compher's second-period tally snapped a six-game goal drought for the center. In his previous three games, he had failed to record a shot on goal. One tally isn't going to instantly turn things around for the struggling 25-year-old, who has just three points in 16 appearances this season. He's added only 14 shots, 15 PIM, 14 hits and 17 blocked shots -- he's provided defense and toughness, but Compher has reached the 30-point mark in each of the last two seasons, so he's certainly capable of better scoring numbers.

Logs season-high TOI
Compher had two shots on goal, one hit, one blocked shot, and seven PIM over a season-high 18:48 of ice time in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Wild.
ANALYSIS
Compher filled in for Nathan MacKinnon (lower body) on the Avalanche's top line and could continue in that while for as long as Colorado's perennial Hart Trophy candidate is out, which will be multiple games. Compher picked up his first five-minute fighting penalty and was tagged with an unsportsmanlike conduct minor along with the major penalty, which led to Minnesota's lone goal. He was standing up for defenseman Cale Makar, who took a borderline hit from the Wild's Kyle Rau. Colorado head coach Jared Bednar hated losing his top-line center for seven minutes but told Mike Chambers of the Denver Post he was okay with Compher's decision. "All day long," Bednar said when asked about Compher's actions. "I thought they (Minnesota) should have had the extra (penalty). I thought the hit (on Makar) was probably boarding or a charge. They don't call it. We get the extra." The two teams return to action Thursday.

Filling in for MacKinnon
Compher will center the top line Tuesday, replacing the injured Nathan MacKinnon (lower body), Kyle Frederickson of the Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
The Avalanche described MacKinnon as week-to-week, so Compher has a chance to make a splash with wingers Mikko Rantanen (10 points) and Gabriel Landeskog (eight points). Compher has one goal and one assist through 10 games, serving in a middle-six role while also part of the power play.

Scores on power play
Compher scored a power-play goal on two shots in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Wild.
ANALYSIS
Compher's tally was icing on the cake, as he scored the final goal of the contest. It was his first goal and second point in nine appearances this year. Compher has added 10 hits and nine blocked shots while mostly working in a bottom-six role. Most fantasy managers won't need to pay attention to the 25-year-old given his poor scoring rate so far.

Elevated to second line
Compher served as the second line center for Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Ducks. He had one hit and three blocked shots.
ANALYSIS
Colorado head coach Jared Bednar swapped Compher and Nazem Kadri, but the move may have backfired. Compher lost a defensive zone faceoff to Adam Henrique that led to Jakob Silfverberg's goal to make it 1-0. Kadri was on the ice for two Anaheim goals and fell to minus-8 over six games. After recording a power-play assist in the season opener, Compher has zero points and just two shots on goal over the ensuing five contests.

Slings power-play assist
Compher had a power-play assist in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Blues.
ANALYSIS
Compher set up the Avalanche's lone goal of the game, scored by Andre Burakovsky. The 25-year-old Compher topped the 30-point threshold in each of the last two seasons, although a 56-game campaign in 2020-21 could make that a tough feat to repeat. He'll be helped by seeing usage on the second power-play unit, and a deep Avalanche offense could give him deep-league fantasy value even on the third line.

Adds assist
Compher had an assist in Monday's 6-3 win over the Stars in Game 5.
ANALYSIS
Compher set up Nathan MacKinnon for the Avalanche's third of five first-period goals. The 25-year-old Compher hasn't found consistent offense in the postseason. He's at three goals, four helpers and 21 shots on goal through 13 appearances.

Converts touchdown in blowout
Compher scored a goal on his only shot and added an assist Wednesday in a 7-1 victory over Arizona in Game 5.
ANALYSIS
Compher rounded out the scoring in Colorado's series-clinching win, knocking home a loose puck with 4:41 left in the third period. Compher, who also drew a power-play assist in the first period, has three multi-point games in his last six. In eight postseason games overall, he boasts three goals and three assists with a plus-6 rating.

Ties game with minute left
Compher scored a goal and added an assist in a 4-3 OT loss to Vegas on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Compher came within a point of equaling his career mark (32 points) last season and he sure looked confident Saturday. He tied the game at 3-3 with just 1:02 left in the game when he jammed the puck home after Nazem Kadri hit the crossbar. Compher is one of the team's PK men, but also saw a bit of time on the power play Saturday.

Tips home overtime winner
Compher scored the game-winning goal in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Rangers.
ANALYSIS
Compher got a piece of Cale Makar's shot in overtime, beating Rangers goalie Alexandar Georgiev for the decisive tally. During Wednesday's game, Compher skated a team-high 25:38 in a top-line role. He saw such significant usage because Nathan MacKinnon and Nazem Kadri are both out with lower-body injuries. Through 67 games this year, Compher has 11 goals, 31 points and 106 shots. He could be worth a look in DFS as long as he's needed in a big role.

Notches two helpers in win
Compher posted two assists -- one on the power play -- in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Sharks.
ANALYSIS
The 24-year-old center snapped a five-game point drought with the two-assist performance. Compher is up to 30 points in 65 contests this year. He's been used in a second-line role with Nazem Kadri (lower body) out of action, but it'll be tough for Compher to earn relevance outside of deep formats.

Third-period goal downs Sabres
Compher scored the game-winning goal and added an assist with three shots in Wednesday's 3-2 win over Buffalo.
ANALYSIS
Compher buried a Joonas Donskoi centering pass with 8:07 left in regulation to break a 2-2 deadlock. He also set up Gabriel Landeskog's power-play goal that opened the scoring in the first period. Compher, who hadn't had a multi-point game since Jan. 7, has two goals and an assist over his past three games. The 24-year-old has 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) in 58 games and is a career-high plus-12.

Capitalizes on turnover
Compher scored a goal on two shots in Friday's 1-0 win over the Ducks.
ANALYSIS
Ducks defenseman Hampus Lindholm turned over the puck in the neutral zone, and Martin Kaut fed Compher for the only tally in the game. The goal snapped a five-game point drought for Compher, who is up to 26 points, 89 shots and a plus-11 rating in 57 outings this year. He's likely to continue in a middle-six role, with enough depth scoring to interest fantasy owners in deeper formats.

Not shooting as often
Compher has eight goals and 25 points with a plus-11 rating in 53 games this season.
ANALYSIS
While the 24-year-old has a career best in the plus/minus and could reach a new career high in points, he's not shooting as often, which is hurting his value. He's averaging just 2.6 shot attempts and 1.5 shots on net per game this season. Each of the last two seasons, he's posted at least 2.9 shot attempts and 1.7 shots on goal per contest. Compher is healthy, so he could get close to his goal production from last season when he played just 66 games, but from a per game perspective, Compher is experiencing a down season.

Distributes assist Sunday
Compher provided an assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Wild.
ANALYSIS
The 24-year-old's helper was his 25th points of the season (eight tallies, 17 assists). Compher has added 79 shots, 43 blocks and a plus-11 rating in a bottom-six role, but he could see a boost in ice time if Nazem Kadri (lower body) ends up missing time after picking up an injury Sunday.

Looking for more shots
Compher recorded a shot on net, one hit and two blocks in a 4-0 victory over the Sharks on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Owners are hoping Compher does a bit more scoring during the second half, but that's unlikely to happen if he doesn't get more pucks to the net. Although he was doing better earlier in the month, Compher only has three shots on goal in the last three games. His shooting percentage should be rising because it was unusually low in the first half, but it's above 21 percent since Dec. 28, which is obviously not unsustainable. Compher has seven goals and 23 points with a plus-11 rating in 44 games this season.
