Two apples as Wings hang on
Seider provided two assists, including a power-play helper, in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Canadiens.
ANALYSIS
Seider is on a three-game point streak comprised of a goal and three helpers; this also includes a power-play point in each contest. The German defenseman plays every game like it's his last, committing to 46 hits and 54 blocked shots through 23 games, but Seider is durable, as he's yet to miss a contest in his young career.
Nov 23, 2023
Powers up in shutout
Seider lit the lamp on the power play in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Devils.
ANALYSIS
Seider hadn't scored since the second game, and his latest tally snapped a five-game points drought, but with two goals and 10 assists, the German defenseman remains on pace for a career-best campaign. He also has 39 hits and 43 blocked shots to illustrate his two-way profile.
Nov 18, 2023
Remains physical amid points drought
Playing in Sweden for the NHL Global Series, Seider recorded three hits, five blocked shots and six penalty minutes in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Maple Leafs.
ANALYSIS
The Red Wings have lost four of their last five games, with the team struggles correlating to Seider failing to put up any points over that stretch. Seider appeared to be a bit frustrated in the latest contest, as he committed cross-checking, roughing and tripping penalties on the way to the narrow loss in Stockholm. The fiery power-play quarterback's next chance to break out of the offensive slump will not come until Wednesday, a home clash with the Devils.
Oct 31, 2023
Snags two assists Monday
Seider recorded two helpers against the Islanders on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Seider posted his fourth multi-point game of the season and is currently one point shy of the Rangers' Adam Fox the league lead among defensemen. While the 22-year-old Seider has scored just one goal, he continues to rack up helpers and is well on pace to get over the 40-assist mark for the second time in three NHL seasons.
Oct 21, 2023
Two helpers in Saturday's win
Seider notched two power-play assists in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Senators.
ANALYSIS
Veteran free-agent signing Shayne Gostisbehere has been the biggest contributor off the blue line for the Red Wings in the early going, but Seider's been no slouch either, racking up a goal and five points in five games with three of the helpers coming on the power play. After seeing his scoring take a small step back as a sophomore in 2022-23, the 22-year-old looks poised to top the seven goals and 50 points he delivered in his Calder Trophy-winning rookie campaign.
Oct 18, 2023
Strong defensively in win
Seider logged four blocked shots in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Penguins.
ANALYSIS
Seider was held off the scoresheet for the second time in four games, but he's redirected at least three shots each time out. The prolific blueliner in his third year captivates the masses with his relentless style of play, resulting in copious amounts of points, hits and blocked shots. On the young season, Seider's emerged with a goal, two assists, five hits and 14 blocked shots.
Oct 14, 2023
Two points in win
Seider scored a goal and added an assist in a 6-4 win over Tampa Bay on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
The goal went into the empty net. Seider is coming off a 42-point sophomore campaign and is looking to build on the success of his 50-point rookie year. The offseason arrival of Jeff Petry and Shayne Gostisbehere should help alleviate some of the pressure on Seider to do too much. He's off to a good start.
Apr 15, 2023
Still does plenty in second season
Seider capped off his second NHL campaign with five goals, 37 assists and 15 power-play points through 82 games.
ANALYSIS
Last season, Seider deposited 50 points and put the Calder Trophy on his mantel, but this season, the talented puck-moving defenseman took a small step back offensively as he adjusted to a new coach in Derek Lalonde. However, there is absolutely no cause for concern when it comes to Seider. The German is a tenacious competitor, and it shouldn't be lost on fantasy managers that he leveled up to the tune of 190 blocked shots and 207 hits this year. Detroit is expected to give serious consideration to blue-line prospect Simon Edvinsson next season, which should take some pressure off Seider if the former ultimately wins a spot on the 23-man roster.
Mar 28, 2023
Posts two assists
Seider posted two assists and a plus-3 rating in the Red Wings' 7-4 win over the Penguins on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Seider picked up helpers on Andrew Copp's goal and David Perron's power-play goal. This performance snaps a six-game point drought for the defenceman. After posting 50 points in his rookie season, the German defenceman has taken a step back offensively this season with five goals and 37 points in 73 games.
Mar 12, 2023
Shines on special teams Sunday
Seider scored his first career short-handed goal and added a power-play assist in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Bruins.
ANALYSIS
Both points came in the second period, helping the Red Wings build a 4-0 lead they didn't manage to squander. Seider recorded his first multi-point performance since Feb. 11 in the process, and on the season the second-year blueliner has five goals and 35 points through 66 games. The sixth overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft still possesses elite upside that could someday have him challenging for Norris Trophies, but those days haven't yet arrived.
Mar 4, 2023
Sets up power play goal
Seider managed a power-play assist and four hits in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Islanders.
ANALYSIS
Seider has just one goal and two assists over the past 10 games, but the electrifying two-way defenseman continues to play his heart out. He amassed four blocked shots and eight hits in Tuesday's loss to the Senators and followed it up with four more blocked shots and seven hits in the ensuing contest against the Kraken. While Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman kept busy making moves at the trade deadline, it was clear all along that Seider -- last year's Calder Trophy winner -- wasn't going anywhere.
Feb 13, 2023
Earns assist Monday
Seider notched an assist, two hits and two blocked shots in Monday's 6-1 win over the Canucks.
ANALYSIS
Seider has been handing out apples left and right with 11 of them over his last 11 games. He's also gone plus-3 in that span. The 21-year-old defenseman appears to have put his slow start to the season behind him with this recent run of success. He's up to three goals, 26 helpers, 86 shots on net, 119 hits, 125 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating through 52 contests this season.
Feb 11, 2023
Two helpers in Saturday's win
Seider collected two assists in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Canucks.
ANALYSIS
Both helpers came in the first three minutes of the first period as Detroit grabbed a lead it wouldn't relinquish. Seider has shaken off his early-season slump, and in 13 games over the last month he's racked up one goal and 15 points, putting the 21-year-old firmly back on track to becoming an elite fantasy asset off the blue line.
Jan 28, 2023
Continues to battle hard
Seider delivered three blocked shots and six hits in Friday's 2-0 loss to the Islanders.
ANALYSIS
Seider's game is centered around grit and determination. He posted three apples in the prior contest -- a 4-3 overtime win over the Canadiens -- and the blueliner followed it up with a strong defensive effort against the Isles. Seider and the Wings will look to bounce back offensively versus the Oilers on Tuesday; for the season, he's produced three goals and 21 assists through 48 games.
Jan 26, 2023
Eleven points in last nine games
Seider collected three assists Thursday in a 4-3 overtime win over the Canadiens.
ANALYSIS
One helper came on the power play. The season started slowly for the wunderkind (13 points in 38 games), but he's gotten hot in his last nine games (one goal, 10 assists). If he can keep this up, Seider will be a sneaky fantasy play over the second half.
Jan 22, 2023
Seeing uptick in offense
Seider produced an assist in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Flyers.
ANALYSIS
Seider is rounding into form after a slow start, as he's produced a goal and eight assists through 10 games since the calendar flipped to 2023. The reigning Calder Trophy winner has also supplied 102 hits and 107 blocked shots on the season to maintain his reputation as one of the league's most complete blueliners at 21 years old.
Jan 17, 2023
Provides power-play assist
Seider logged a power-play assist, five hits and four blocked shots in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Coyotes.
ANALYSIS
Seider's resurgent January continues -- he has a goal and seven helpers through eight games this month. The 21-year-old defenseman is up to 20 points (eight on the power play), 70 shots on net, 99 hits, 102 blocked shots and a minus-14 rating through 43 contests. He's shown glimpses lately, enough to think that he'll be better in the second half of the campaign than he was in the first.
Jan 10, 2023
Explodes for four points
Seider posted four assists and three shots, leading the Red Wings to a 7-5 win over the Jets on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
The first star of Tuesday's contest, Seider picked up assists on all three Red Wing goals in the first period and Dylan Larkin's power-play goal in the second period. While the German defenseman has been a disappointment in the points department to start the 2022-23 campaign, Tuesday's performance could be the spark that sets off a strong second half. Seider is now up to two goals and 17 points in 39 games.
Jan 4, 2023
Busts slump
Seider produced a power-play assist in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Devils.
ANALYSIS
Seider snapped an eight-game point drought with the man-advantage helper, but it was too little, too late, as the Devils dominated in the second and third frames to snag this road victory. The second-year blueliner has two goals and 11 assists through 36 games, which isn't moving the needle much in fantasy leagues, though Seider does have 78 hits and 87 blocked shots to provide a boost in some of the ancillary categories.
Dec 10, 2022
Garners helper in narrow loss
Seider registered an assist in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Stars.
ANALYSIS
This was the first point in five December contests for Seider. The German has been inconsistent offensively in his second NHL season, and so far, he's manufactured only four power-play points after turning in 21 of those on the way to a Calder Trophy-winning campaign. Nonetheless, Seider continues to showcase his dogged determination in the defensive zone based on 61 hits and 63 blocked shots through 27 games.
Nov 28, 2022
Collects two points in loss
Seider had a goal, an assist and three shots during Monday's 4-2 defeat to the visiting Maple Leafs.
ANALYSIS
With six points in his past five games, Seider, who opened Monday's scoring off a first-period scramble in front of the net, is starting to produce offensively the way many insiders expected of the 2022 rookie of the year. What's not expected from the 21-year-old defenseman's stat line is the growing number of minus ratings, despite entering Monday leading the Red Wings in average ice time (22:59). During his past eight appearances, Seider is a combined minus-11.
Nov 19, 2022
Three apples sends Jackets away
Seider delivered three assists Saturday in a 6-1 win over the Blue Jackets.
ANALYSIS
Two of the helpers came on the power play. Seider has struggled thus far to replicate his impressive 50-point rookie season (2021-22), but his last two efforts (one goal, three assists) may signal the start of a change. He was pressing just a bit too much to this point, trying to do everything, and it was impacting him in all zones. Seider will be fine long term and is clearly the Wings' top dog for the next 12-15 years. Short term, it could take a little bit for him to completely settle into his game.
Nov 17, 2022
Gets first goal of season
Seider scored a goal on three shots, blocked three shots and went minus-2 in Thursday's 7-4 win over the Sharks.
ANALYSIS
Seider's offensive struggles are no secret, but even he couldn't be kept silenced in this high-scoring contest. He ended a four-game point drought with the goal, which came at 13:54 of the third period and stood as the game-winner. The second-year defenseman has six points, 31 shots on net, 40 blocked shots, 36 hits and a minus-6 rating through 17 appearances this season.
Nov 6, 2022
Back on scoresheet
Seider collected a shorthanded assist in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Islanders.
ANALYSIS
This was the third shorthanded assist for Seider in his young career, and there should be more to come since the prized defenseman is fearless and always willing to jump into the action. The Calder Trophy winner is off to a disappointing start with three apples comprising his point total through 11 contests, but fantasy managers are urged to be patient. Under the direction of new coach Derek Lalonde, Seider is starting his 5-on-5 shifts in the offensive zone roughly 35 percent of the time, but in order to get him going offensively, we project he'll see closer to a 50-50 split in terms of zone starts as the season progresses.
Oct 31, 2022
Manages assist in loss
Seider produced an assist, three blocked shots and two hits in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Sabres.
ANALYSIS
Seider picked up his second point of the campaign when he helped out on David Perron's second-period tally. Both of Seider's points have been assists, and his slow start will make it tough for him to match the 50-point pace he produced as a rookie last year. The 21-year-old has at least partially offset his lack of offense with 23 blocked shots, 20 hits, 17 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating through nine contests, but fantasy managers expected more from the second-year rearguard.
Oct 23, 2022
Gets on scoresheet Sunday
Seider notched a power-play assist, five blocked shots, two shots on goal, two hits and two PIM in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Ducks.
ANALYSIS
Seider helped out on Dylan Larkin's goal just 2:02 into the contest. The assist ended Seider's drought on offense to begin the year -- he had been held off the scoresheet in the first four games. The 21-year-old has partially made up for it with his usual supply of non-scoring numbers. He has 12 blocks, nine hits and 14 shots on net in five contests. He'll have some work to do to catch up to the 50-point pace he set as a rookie last year.
Oct 19, 2022
Points elusive early on
Seider, the reigning Calder Trophy winner, is plus-2 with five blocked shots and seven hits through the first three games. However, he is still looking for his first point of the young season.
ANALYSIS
Ideally, Seider would have some points by now, but it's far too early to panic. The 21-year-old defenseman already has 11 shots on goal and he's averaging 3:13 of ice time on the man advantage. Detroit has found early success with a number of offseason pickups -- including Ben Chiarot, who forms the top defensive pair with Seider -- and it seems like it's only matter of time before the blue-line phenom starts lighting it up in the box score.
Apr 30, 2022
Adds final bid for Calder Trophy
Seider wired a wrist shot for a goal in Friday's 5-3 win over the Devils, which was Detroit's final game of the season.
ANALYSIS
The Calder Trophy favorite finishes with seven goals, 43 assists, 151 hits and 161 blocked shots as a 21-year-old blueliner. He's lauded for his fearless two-way game, and it's remarkable that he put up such gaudy numbers on a rebuilding Red Wings team that didn't have a single skater finish with a point-per-game average. Seider has the potential to be a franchise defenseman and he's locked in on the No. 1 power-play unit after dropping two goals and 19 assists in that critical special teams spot this season.
Apr 23, 2022
Powers up with helper
Seider recorded a power-play assist in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Penguins.
ANALYSIS
The 21-year-old defenseman is strengthening his bid for the Calder Trophy, as he's collected six goals, 43 assists and 21 power-play points, not to mention triple-digit totals for both hits (145) and blocked shots (157). It's hard to believe that this is only the beginning for Seider given his smashing success in year one.
Apr 14, 2022
Tallies as Wings blank Canes
Seider opened the scoring a 3-0 win over the Hurricanes on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Seider received a terrific backhand pass from captain Dylan Larkin on the rush and brushed twine for the sixth time. Fans of the Winged Wheel are relishing the fact that there's a stud defenseman in Motown, which is something the team had been severely lacking until Seider was drafted sixth overall in 2019.
Mar 30, 2022
Breaks out of slump with two points
Seider had two power-play assists and three blocked shots in Wednesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Rangers.
ANALYSIS
The Calder Trophy front-runner showcased his two-way ability in this one, highlighted by assists on power-play goals by Jakub Vrana and Tyler Bertuzzi. Seider came in with just one assist in his previous 11 games, but he's pulled within one helper of reaching 40 in his first NHL season. Nineteen of his 44 points have come on the power play.
Feb 27, 2022
Continues to drop jaws
Seider fashioned two assists in Saturday's 10-7 loss to the Maple Leafs.
ANALYSIS
One of the early favorites to win the Calder Trophy, Seider is riding a six-game point streak comprised of a goal and nine assists. There are no signs of slowing down for the German, as February has been his most productive month offensively. But the 20-year-old also has 75 hits and 102 blocked shots to signal that he's giving it his all on both ends of the ice.
Feb 23, 2022
Dishes pair of assists Wednesday
Seider logged two assists, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Avalanche.
ANALYSIS
Seider set up goals by Filip Zadina and Robby Fabbri in the contest. The 20-year-old Seider is riding a five-game point streak, during which he has a goal and seven helpers, and four of those points have come with the man advantage. With 37 points, 109 shots on net, 100 blocked shots, 75 hits and an even plus-minus rating in 52 contests, Seider continues to be one of the best rookies in the league. He's looking like he'll return goo value for the Red Wings after they took him sixth overall in 2019.
Feb 15, 2022
Chips in two helpers against Wild
Seider notched two assists, one on the power play, in Monday's 7-4 loss to the Wild.
ANALYSIS
The rookie blueliner continues to put together a strong campaign, and if anything he's been picking up the pace in recent weeks. Over his last 15 games, Seider has two goals and 12 points, with over half that production (both tallies and five helpers) coming with the man advantage.
Jan 29, 2022
Registers pair of assists
Seider logged two assists and a pair of blocked shots in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Maple Leafs.
ANALYSIS
Seider assisted on goals by Vladislav Namestnikov and Tyler Bertuzzi early in the second period. This was Seider's first multi-point game since Dec. 1, though the steady rookie hasn't gone more than two contests without a point in that span. The 20-year-old blueliner is up to four goals, 25 assists, 91 shots on net, 80 blocks, 64 hits, 24 PIM and a minus-1 rating in 45 appearances.
Jan 26, 2022
Strikes on power play
Seider scored a power-play goal, blocked two shots and went minus-2 in Wednesday's 8-5 loss to the Blackhawks.
ANALYSIS
Seider snapped a 17-game goal drought, though he was solid with nine assists in that span. The 20-year-old defenseman's tally nearly sparked a comeback push in the third period for the Red Wings. The German has four goals, 27 points (12 on the power play, two shorthanded), 87 shots on net, 77 blocked shots, 61 hits and a minus-3 rating through 43 contests.
Jan 17, 2022
Collects 25th point in victory
Seider contributed an assist in Monday's 3-2 overtime win over the Sabres.
ANALYSIS
Heading into the 2021-22 campaign, there were questions about how quickly Seider could adjust to the NHL. Well, the sixth overall draft pick from 2019 is up to 25 points (three goals, 22 assists) through 40 games to immediately steal the hearts of the Red Wings faithful and fantasy managers abound. Detroit appointing Hall of Famer Nicklas Lidstrom as VP of Operations figures to fast-track Seider's development, which makes the German all the more appealing in both keeper and redraft formats.
Jan 11, 2022
Hands out power-play assist
Seider posted a power-play assist, four hits, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Sharks.
ANALYSIS
Seider helped out on a Tyler Bertuzzi goal late in the second period. The 20-year-old Seider was absent from the contest after taking a puck to the head, but he was able to return and finish with 19:07 of ice time. The rookie blueliner has helpers in three of his last four games, and he's up to 24 points (10 on the power play) in 37 contests overall. He's added 69 shots on net, 63 blocked shots, 59 hits and a plus-1 rating, providing strong all-around production to help in a wide range of fantasy formats.
Jan 9, 2022
Manages power-play helper
Seider notched a power-play assist, five shots on goal and four hits in Sunday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Ducks.
ANALYSIS
Seider set up Filip Hronek's goal early in the second period to tie the game at 1-1. The 20-year-old Seider has remained solid with a goal and eight helpers, including three on the power play, in 13 games since the start of December. The rookie defenseman's strong campaign is up to 23 points (nine on the power play), 67 shots on net, 61 blocked shots, 55 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-1 rating in 36 appearances. His all-around production makes him a safe option in fantasy.
Dec 18, 2021
Notches assist in win
Seider recorded an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
ANALYSIS
Seider set up Tyler Bertuzzi's first goal of the game at 12:27 of the second period. That tally stood as the game-winner. Seider hasn't dropped off in December, logging a goal, six assists, 17 shots on net, 16 blocks and an even plus-minus rating in his last eight games. With 21 points, 55 shots, 54 blocks, 40 hits and an even plus-minus rating in 31 contests overall, he continues to be a steady presence on the Red Wings' top pairing.
Dec 10, 2021
Pockets helper Friday
Seider recorded an assist, five shots on goal and two PIM in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Avalanche.
ANALYSIS
Seider helped out on a Vladislav Namestnikov goal in the first period. With a goal and five assists in his last seven games, Seider has maintained his rookie-year momentum into December. The German has 19 points, 48 shots on net, 49 blocked shots, 39 hits, 18 PIM and a minus-1 rating through 28 appearances.
Dec 8, 2021
Good to go
Seider (undisclosed) will play Thursday versus St. Louis, Ted Kulfan of The Detroit News reports.
ANALYSIS
Seider exited Tuesday's loss to the Predators with an undisclosed injury, but whatever forced him from that contest evidently wasn't overly serious. The 20-year-old blueliner will slot into his usual spots on Detroit's top pairing and first power-play unit against the Blues.
Dec 7, 2021
Leaves Tuesday's game
Seider (undisclosed) left Tuesday's game versus the Predators and head coach Jeff Blashill had no update on his status after the game.
ANALYSIS
Seider was hit by Tanner Jeannot in the third period and immediately went to the locker room. An update on Seider's status could surface at Wednesday's practice, though his status for Thursday versus the Blues is in question. The defenseman produced a power-play assist Tuesday before his exit.
Dec 4, 2021
Wins it in overtime Saturday
Seider scored the game-winning goal, fired three shots on net and went plus-2 in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Islanders.
ANALYSIS
Seider unleashed a blast to beat Ilya Sorokin at 3:33 of the extra session. It was Seider's second overtime tally of the season and his third overall. The German defenseman is up to 17 points, 42 shots, 43 blocked shots, 35 hits and a plus-3 rating in 25 contests.
Dec 1, 2021
Two apples in thriller
Seider posted two assists in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Kraken.
ANALYSIS
The highly touted rookie was the secondary distributor on back-to-back goals for a Red Wings team that has rattled off four straight wins. Seider dealt with a knee injury in mid-November, but he hasn't missed any action. The 20-year-old defenseman continues to shine with two goals and 14 assists through 24 games.
Nov 20, 2021
Ready to go
Seider (knee) is "good to go" for Saturday's road clash with the Coyotes, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The prized rookie defenseman reportedly looked good at Friday's practice, at least in the eyes of head coach Jeff Blashill. Detroit has lost three straight games and the club is looking for answers on both ends of the ice. Seider, who apparently dodged a serious knee injury after getting hit with the puck in Thursday's agame against Vegas, is a big part of the offensive scheme based on his output of two goals and 11 assists through 19 games.
Nov 18, 2021
Injured in Thursday's loss
Seider (knee) was injured on a blocked shot in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Golden Knights, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports. Head coach Jeff Blashill had no update on the defenseman's status after the game.
ANALYSIS
Seider left the game late in the third period, so an update isn't likely to surface until Friday at the earliest. Any missed time would for the blueliner would be a huge blow to the Red Wings -- he's logged 13 points in 19 contests while emerging as a top-pairing option. He's likely day-to-day ahead of Saturday's game versus the Coyotes.
Nov 16, 2021
Plucks apple on power play
Seider notched a power-play assist, two shots on goal and four blocked shots in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Stars.
ANALYSIS
Seider has been steady in November with two goals and three helpers in nine games. The German blueliner is up to 13 points, 32 shots on net, 23 hits and 22 blocked shots through his first 18 NHL contests. He's produced six power-play assists while taking over the quarterback role on the first unit.
Nov 14, 2021
Continues to deliver
Seider provided a primary assist in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Canadiens.
ANALYSIS
Seider leads all rookie defensemen in points with his total comprised of two goals and 10 helpers through 16 games. He and Lucas Raymond -- a forward who was Detroit's fourth overall pick from 2020 -- have been all the rage in Motown under the direction of 25-year-old captain Dylan Larkin.
Nov 9, 2021
Secures win over Edmonton
Seider scored an empty-net goal on three shots and added two hits in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Oilers.
ANALYSIS
Seider hit the bullseye from point blank range to round out the scoring with six seconds left in the third period. It was the second goal of the year for the 20-year-old rookie, who has produced 11 points and 10 PIM through his first 14 NHL games.
Nov 6, 2021
Nets first NHL goal
Seider scored his first NHL goal in overtime to seal at 4-3 win over Buffalo on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Seider took a pass from Tyler Bertuzzi and fired a shot from the left circle to complete the comeback for the Red Wings, which trailed 3-1 in the third period. He has vaulted into early Calder contention with 10 points in his first 12 NHL games. Seider plays with a maturity and poise that belies his age -- he is strong on the puck in his own zone and so far, he has never been held off the scoresheet for more than two games.
Oct 29, 2021
Pockets assist
Seider produced an assist, four hits, two shots on goal and two PIM in Friday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Seider set up Pius Suter's game-tying goal at 17:19 of the third period. The 20-year-old Seider is already turning heads with seven helpers through eight contests. He's earned a spot on the top defense pairing while adding 10 shots on goal, nine hits, nine blocked shots, eight PIM and a minus-1 rating. Not much seems to be stopping the German rookie right now -- give him a look for a scoring boost from the blue line in fantasy.
Oct 24, 2021
Helpers in consecutive outings
Seider recorded a power-play assist, two blocked shots and two PIM in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Blackhawks.
ANALYSIS
The sixth overall pick from 2019 has not looked out of place in a top-pairing role for the Red Wings. Seider has produced five assists (three on the power play), seven shots on net, seven blocked shots and a minus-2 rating across six contests. The German blueliner could still have some bumps in the road ahead, but he's handling the NHL just fine for a 20-year-old rookie.
Oct 24, 2021
Syncs up with Larkin
Seider contributed a power-play assist in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Canadiens.
ANALYSIS
The Red Wings were thumped by a Habs team that lost each of its first five contests, but even so, the rookie Seider managed to etch the box score with his fourth apple of the young season. There was nothing fancy about Seider's point pass to Dylan Larkin for Detroit's lone goal, but we're convinced that the 20-year-old will enjoy an extremely bright future if he sticks to the fundamentals and takes cues from captain Larkin.

Supplies first power-play assist
Seider delivered a power-play assist in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Canucks.
ANALYSIS
Seider set the table for a Filip Zadina one-timer which ended up as the game-winning goal. Granted, this season is brand new, but it's difficult to argue with Seider's production based on his registering three assists through the first two contests. Mo looks quite comfortable on the second defensive pair and No. 2 power-play unit, but it'll be interesting to see how consistent he can be over the course of a full NHL season.

Two assists in debut
Seider produced a pair of assists, three hits and two PIM in Thursday's 7-6 overtime loss to the Lightning.
ANALYSIS
The sixth overall pick from 2019 looked solid in his NHL debut, helping out on half of Tyler Bertuzzi's four goals in the contest. Seider has made a good first impression for the rebuilding Red Wings, with the hopes that he'll be a foundational piece in the future. For now, he's likely to grow into a top-four role, and there will probably be some bumps in the road throughout the year as there are with many rookies.

Set for NHL debut
Seider will make his NHL debut against the Lightning on Thursday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Khan further notes that Seider is expected to stick around with the parent club for the whole season. However, the two-way nature of the prospect's contract -- along with the fact that he's exempt from waivers -- means Seider can be sent to AHL Grand Rapids if the rookie blueliner ends up needing to refine his game. Expectations are once again low for the Red Wings this season, but there's hope that Seider, the team's sixth overall selection from 2019, can give the club a lift as a power-play quarterback with a level of upside that this team hasn't seen from the blue line in many years.

Will be on Germany's Olympic roster
Seider has been named to Germany's 2022 Olympic roster, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Seider, a highly touted blue-line prospect, generated seven goals and 21 assists through 41 games for Rogle BK Angelholm of the Swedish Hockey League last season, but his roots are with the Mannheim Eagles, a team in his native Germany. Seider's first order of business is cracking the Opening Night roster for the Red Wings; he has a goal and two helpers through five preseason contests.

Coach assess prospect
Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill is teaching Seider to move the puck down the ice quicker, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Seider delivered a goal and an assist on the power play in Monday's 6-4 preseason loss to the Blackhawks, albeit with a minus-3 rating. Blashill acknowledged both the good and bad in the German's performance, but there's still time for Seider, Detroit's 2019 sixth overall pick, to iron out the kinks. Detroit is scheduled for three more preseason contests before the Wings play host to the Lightning in the Oct. 14 opener.

Transfered to Swedish league
The Red Wings have reassigned Seider to Rogle of the SHL.
ANALYSIS
Seider was originally going to play in his native Germany ahead of the 2020-21 NHL campaign, but the start of the DEL season has been delayed, so he'll head to Sweden for now. The sixth overall pick from the 2019 draft notched 22 points in 49 games with AHL Grand Rapids last season. He'll be recalled ahead of Detroit's training camp and could be a full-time player with the big club next season.

Loaned to German club
The Red Wings loaed Seider to Adler Mannheim of the DEL on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Seider spent the entirety of the 2019-20 campaign with AHL Grand Rapids, notching 22 points in 49 games while posting a minus-5 rating. The sixth overall pick from the 2019 draft will be recalled by Detroit ahead of next season's training camp and should make his NHL debut at some point in 2020-21.

Set to return to minor-league play
Seider (undisclosed) is expected to be in the lineup for AHL Grand Rapids on Friday, Dana Wakiji of the Red Wings' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Seider has managed two goals and 18 assists in 46 contests during his first professional season. The sixth-overall pick from 2019 should continue to ply his trade in the minors for another year or two before getting a look with the parent club as part of an upcoming youth movement in Detroit.

Impressing big-club GM
Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman is pleased with how Seider (undisclosed) is progressing for AHL Grand Rapids, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Seider's missed the last four games for the Griffins, but Yzerman likes what he's already seen from Detroit's 2019 sixth overall draft pick. "We're really pleased with his development," Yzerman said. "At the start of the season, I thought he would average 17 minutes, 18 minutes maybe. I looked at the ice time recently, he's been 25, even 27 minutes a game. An 18-year-old D-man in that league, it's tough. He's playing in all situations and he's touching the puck." Seider, who calls Germany home, sits at two goals, 18 assists, and a minus-5 rating through 46 games with the Griffins. The Wings have every reason to be excited about the brawny right-shot defenseman's potential.
