The league’s 6th highest assister has been struggling in recent games to get on the assist board having gone on an 8-1 stretch to score at least one assist. Makar has since gone 1-3.
Makar has faced the Minnesota Wild twice thus far this season and failed to score a single point, there is no way the Wild get lucky three times in a row. Makar could very easily put up two assists or more in this one.
The Colorado defenceman has been strong on the road this season and is 5-2 in his recent seven road matchups to the over 0.5 assists line.
Makar has already scored two assists on 11 occasions this season and three assists on a further four.
The Pick
It’s one of our favorite picks tonight at the current odds of -110 and we would happily bet it down to as low as -125. Makar is due an assist tonight having failed to provide one last time out in a 4-1 loss against the worst team in the Eastern Conference.
That defeat will serve as a kick up the backside for Colorado and Makar is usually behind the teams’ playmaking after, of course, Nathan MacKinnon. The odds are strong here, and as we said, Minnesota can’t get lucky again, or can they? Time will tell.
