Butterfield Bermuda Championship Analysis, Odds & Picks

This week, the PGA Tour moves to Bermuda for the fifth renewal of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. Here at OddsTrader, we have the best golf picks for a week when the weather forecast is to become blusterier with each day on this coastal test.

The Royal Port Golf Course at Southampton, Bermuda is a Robert Trent Jones design, a very short par 71 at 6842 yards. I think looking at the four previous Bermuda Championships, we are looking at a winning score around fifteen under par this week with the players requiring an ability to play in the wind over the weekend. That means we are looking for golfer’s adept at controlling ball flight in the wind and are strong Bermuda Grass green putters.

Picks Summary

  • Brent Grant to Finish Top 40 (+160)
  • Max McGreevy to Win Outright (+35000)
  • Fabian Gomez to Finish Top 20 (+500)

Butterfield Bermuda Championship

November 9-12, 2023 at Port Royal Golf Course

Why Has Grant Served Notice for Bermuda?

Last week at the WWT Championship in Mexico, Brent Grant served notice that his game is in string shape on several levels.

Here at OddsTrader, we took him at the huge price of (+40000) to spring a surprise and even though he did not win, he played very soundly all week after a bright start.

That’s encouragement for us to go back in again this week because last year here in Bermuda was a nice sighter and course debut for the twenty-seven-year-old from Jacksonville in Florida. That week last year at the Royal Port Golf Course saw Grant in contention until a poor final round saw him drop away into 35th place finish.

This year, with more experience in the bag, not only on the course but the PGA Tour, Grant looks in with a better shout this year.

Grant’s recent form looks solid and consistent, so we like the look of the Bet365 market of Top 40 (+160).

That combined with a Top 10 finish and outright win at one of our top sportsbooks is OddsTrader’s golf betting plan for Brent Grant this week

Golf Pick: Brent Grant to Finish Top 40 (+160) at Bet365

Golf Pick: Brent Grant to Finish Top 10 (+1400) at Bet365

Golf Pick: Brent Grant to Win Outright (+15000) at Bet365

Go Big or Go Home with Max McGreevy

Max McGreevy is an all-or-nothing, go-big-or-go-home merchant on the PGA Tour, so let’s take the hint this week at the Bermuda Championship.

With an 8th place finish here a year ago, we know the demands of the Royal Port Golf Course are fine for McGreevy who is a player who remarkably has more top 10 finishes on the PGA Tour than he has top 20s.

That’s because the twenty-eight-year-old from Oklahoma is a very inconsistent sort but the closer to contention he is, the better he seems to play.

At the huge price of (+35000), Max McGreevy is worth taking on the premise that last week’s effort at the WWT Championship showed him trending nicely into form.

Golf Pick: Max McGreevy to Win Outright (+35000) at Bet365

Golf Pick: Max McGreevy to Finish Top 10 (+2000) at Unibet

Take Gomez as Place Banker in Bermuda

Fabian Gomez is a real horse for a course, and the forty-five-year-old Argentinian really excels here at Bermuda.

Previous efforts that have marked our card were when he finished 17th last year and 7th in the inaugural year of 2019.

Getting ready for the Champions Tour in five years, will keep Gomez grinding away, but he was runner-up in his last start at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship to illustrate his current form.

In that inaugural year here, Brian Gay won the event when preparing for the Champions Tour, so maybe this quirky track gives veteran Gomez a sneaky long-shot chance.

Take Fabian Gomez as a top 20 prop banker at the Bet365 price of (+500) and as a long shot with Unibet at the price of (+15000).
