Barcelona’s title hopes are still alive, but their weekend trip to Girona must provide all three points, and the realistic players within Xavi’s squad will already know this feat would take every star in the La Liga universe to align.
Elimination from the Champions League was an additional setback for the defending Spanish champions, which was unfortunately coupled with an El Clásico defeat to Los Blancos five days prior.
Xavi’s season won’t bring silverware to the trophy cabinet, and more worryingly for Saturday’s visit, they lost to Girona 4-2 in the reverse fixture earlier this term.

For Bournemouth’s faults this term, this squad certainly knows how to find the net, with at least one goal scored in 16 of their last 17 away games. They’ve enjoyed life under the tutelage of Andoni Iraola but are now faced with the best defensive unit in the country.
