Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics
Monday, May 29, 2023 – 08:30 PM EDT at TD Garden
Duncan Robinson (Miami Heat)
Duncan Robinson was a forgotten man in the Miami Heat’s rotation this season. Robinson failed to get minutes and many games during the regular season.
An injury to Tyler Herro forced Robinson into action and he has been taking advantage of the opportunity. Robinson has shown that he is still one of the best shooters in the league.
The Pick
Duncan Robinson had 13 points in 20 minutes in the Heat’s Game 6 loss in Miami. Robinson had 18 points in 28 minutes in Game 5. After playing only 7 minutes in Game 1, Robinson is averaging 14 points per game since. Robinson has shot over 50% from three-point range in four of those five games.
Robinson is not scared to pull the trigger on an open three-point shot. He had two opportunities to put the Celtics away in Game 6 but was not able to take advantage. Robinson will look to correct that error tonight when these two teams take the court.
Robinson will continue his hot shooting and go Over his point prop.
NBA Prop Pick: Duncan Robinson Over 8.5 Points (-106) at Caesars Sportsbook
Jimmy Butler (Miami Heat)
Jimmy Butler looked to be the best player in the playoffs earlier during the playoffs. Unfortunately for the Heat, his play has leveled off as of late. Butler has struggled in the Heat’s three losses to the Celtics. Yet, the line is the same as when Butler was on fire. Since the sportsbooks have not adjusted, we will take advantage of a line that is priced incorrectly.
The Pick
Jimmy Butler struggled in Game 6 going 5-21 from the field. That is only a 23.8% field goal percentage. Butler played 47 minutes and it appears that the fatigue of the team constantly leaning on him has caught up to him.
This is coming off a woeful 14-point performance in Game 5 in Boston. Butler has been incredible this postseason but unfortunately for the Heat, he has run out of gas. In what should be a low-scoring Game 7, Butler will not reach the heights that he previously achieved earlier in the playoffs.
Our second player prop for the evening is Jimmy Butler Under 28.5 points.
NBA Prop Pick: Jimmy Butler Under 28.5 Points (-119) at Caesars Sportsbook
Marcus Smart (Boston Celtics)
Marcus Smart continued his incredible play for the Boston Celtics, helping them win Game 6 to force tonight’s decisive Game 7. Smart is one of the best defenders in the NBA and won the Defensive Player of the Year award last season. Smart’s fiery intensity and knack for finding the ball on the defensive end have been key to the Celtics’ success.
The Pick
Marcus Smart has gone Over this steals prop total in two of his last three games, including five steals in Game 5 at home in Boston. Smart is fearless on the defensive end and loves to jump in passing lanes in order to grab steals. He played 42 minutes in Game 6 and is expected to play plenty of minutes tonight with everything on the line.
Smart has been excellent all series and will continue his stellar play tonight. Our third player prop is Marcus Smart Over 1.5 steals.
