This is a great time of year for sports and sports betting with the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB playoffs all in action at the same time. That makes for a ton of options for player prop picks, which means a lot of research if you want to make the best picks you can.

Fortunately, OddsTrader has an app that will help you make more profitable picks. It is called OddsTrader BetStation, and it is available to download for free on the app stores for both Android and iOS users.

Today, we are going to run through the features and how you can use this app to make valuable prop picks. There are many features on this app for everything, from spread trends to stats for past games, but we are focusing on player props today.

Getting Familiar with Your Account

We are going to walk you through how to use your account with OddsTrader BetStation to master the art of prop picks.

Today Tab

After downloading the OddsTrader BetStation and creating your free account, the first thing you should see when you open the app is the Today tab at the bottom, which shows what games are going on today and their odds.

The available markets at OddsTrader BetStation include:

  • NFL
  • NBA
  • MLB
  • NCAAB
  • NCAAF
  • NHL
  • Soccer (many leagues)
  • Tennis (ATP, WTA)
  • WNBA
  • CFL
  • USFL
  • Fighting (UFC, Boxing, Bellator)

Most apps would not go beyond the four main American professional leagues, but this app has a great variety of leagues. You can sort these markets by line type (spread, money, total, merged), and you can choose to view the full game lines or a certain half or quarter.

You can also change the date to look at future schedules or go into the past to look up past results, including stats in the game.

At the top left of the screen, you will see the choice between “ODDS” and “PICKS.” We just went over the odds, but the picks will show you computer-simulated predictions for today’s games, including the final score and total.

If you click on a game, you will be treated to statistics on both teams, recent trends, recent matchups, line movement, and much more including info on injuries and weather.

But the part we want to focus on are the player props, so under the Odds section, choose Player Props for the game of your choice.

Player Props Page

Now that you are looking at the player props, you can use the drop-down menus to look at a different player or a different stat, such as (for an NFL game) the over/under lines for:

  • Passing yards
  • Rushing yards
  • Receiving yards
  • Passing touchdowns
  • Interceptions thrown
  • Tackles
  • Sacks

Go Line Shopping All in One Place

The cool thing about this prop information is that it gives you instant price shopping as the page will list the odds for the same prop pick at multiple sportsbooks, including:

This saves you the time of having to go to each sportsbook and compare the numbers. If you like a certain player to go over or under, you can quickly see who is offering the best number.

For example, if you were to look at the Saints vs. Cardinals NFL Week 7 game, you can see a prop pick for Andy Dalton’s passing yards.

The screen will show you the value and odds at eight sportsbooks, with three books offering his lowest number of 211.5 yards at -114 odds, but then you see that BetMGM is going against the grain by offering his over at 219.5 yards at -110 odds.

If the over is your bet, then you go with the sites that have 211.5. But if you were always on the under for Dalton, then you just discovered in seconds that BetMGM is the place you want to place this bet to get the 219.5.

Compare Prices

In addition to the number, you also want to get the best price, which you can also compare right away with this app.

For example, from the same Saints-Cardinals game, we’ll see the big return of wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from suspension. His over/under for receiving yards brings up bets from seven different sportsbooks, and six of them are setting the line at 61.5 yards.

However, Bet365 is offering -110 odds and DraftKings is at -135. So, if the over is your bet, then you want to go with the lowest odds from Bet365 to make a more profitable pick.

Given how incredibly close these numbers end up against the line at times, every number counts for something. Being able to get a difference of 8 yards for Dalton or a -25 boost in odds for Hopkins is a big deal and using OddsTrader BetStation drastically cuts down your research time to find the best lines.

How to Use the Bet Card

We all can do a better job of keeping track of our bets, including the ones we wish we would have made. What sports bettor hasn’t said “I wish I would have put $100 on that, I would have won” every week? How about every night? Your choices have been to make the bet, play it at a much smaller stake, or keep track of it in a spreadsheet where you have to manually update if it hit and what your net bankroll is after each pick.

The OddsTrader BetStation makes keeping track of your hypothetical bets simple. If you see something you like, you can save the bet to your Bet Card after entering a stake so that the app can keep track of how much you would win.

Keep in mind it cannot place the bet for you with real money, so this is more of a hypothetical to see how well you would do if you were making these picks. These will fall under Custom Bets, and again, they are not using your real money.

Keep Track of Your Bets

As for your real money bets placed on sportsbooks, you have the choice to sync some of those accounts to your OddsTrader account. When you enter the Bet Card tab, you will see a choice of Synced Bets or the Custom Bets we just explained.

For Synced Bets, these will appear when you link your account with FanDuel, Caesars Sportsbook, BetMGM, or PointsBet with your OddsTrader account. Once synced, your bet history will be displayed, showing:

  • Your winning bet percentage
  • Your ROI
  • Your profit margin
  • Your current balance

You can disconnect these sportsbooks at any time from your OddsTrader account, but it is a fun way to track your bets across different sites and manage your bankrolls.

If you discover over time that you would be a winning bettor with a great ROI, then maybe it’s time you start putting more serious wagers in. The OddsTrader BetStation helps you keep track of that, and the matchup information helps you research better to make better picks.

When the app is free and just a download away, what do you have to lose? Check out the OddsTrader BetStation today in your phone’s app store.
