The AI Model projects the Mets will earn a 4.2-3.7 victory against the Mariners. Although New York hasn’t scored a run against the Mariners in this so far, they’re in line to at least salvage the series with one win, per the AI Model.

Seattle’s Offense Is Nothing Special
The Seattle Mariners have many batters with above-average stats. But no-hitter in the current lineup is absolutely tearing righties up. They’re just slightly above average in all categories. Meanwhile, Luis Severino has added 44.1% of ground balls over the last month.
He’s also held his last 88 batters to a 25.4% of line drive percentage and 20.2% of fly balls. Severino has performed better than his recent stats have suggested.
Don’t rely on the Mariners’ offense against Severino. He’ll eventually turn the tide.
Lefties Can Find Success For The Mets
Luis Castillo will take the mound for the Marlins. The righty has struggled against lefties this season, allowing a .197 ISO and wOBA of .358 to 282 lefties this season.
The Mets should have four lefties in the lineup. But those four lefties have combined to hit a .333 wOBA with only 19.5% of strikeouts and 11.2% of walks. They’ll work Castillo and should add enough runs for New York to salvage the series.
