MLB Computer Picks for May 2: Trust Gorman Tonight

We’ve got a full slate of games in the MLB tonight! Since the AI Model has been hot, I asked for its three favorite bets for tonight’s games. Here’s what it came back with.

And don’t forget to check out our YouTube channel for more betting advice. Today, our expert covered the Padres vs. Pirates and Rays vs. Yankees games!

The Picks

New York Mets vs. St. Louis Cardinals

Friday, May 2, 2025 – 8:15 PM EDT at Busch Stadium

The AI Model projects that Nolan Gorman will add 1.3 total bases tonight for the St. Louis Cardinals. Meanwhile, his total bases line is only .5, with the over at -120.

Let’s Trust Nolan Gorman!

The Cardinals’ second baseman, Nolan Gorman, has only hit a .105 ISO and wOBA of .235 against his last 46 righties.

However, he’s been super unlucky. Gorman has hit only 20.8% of ground balls and 54.2% of fly balls. He’s also added 50% hard contact against righties and an 8.3% barrel percentage.

If this continues, his numbers will improve over time. Gorman has a .208 BABIP, but that won’t last if he limits ground balls and hits a lot of hard contact.

Meanwhile, he’ll battle Clay Holmes of the Mets. Holmes has been terrific for the most part. But he’s also allowed 44.7% of hard contact and 25.5% of line drives to lefties this season.

If Gorman can connect on a Holmes pitch, he’s got a ton of potential to add at least one total base in this game.

Take a chance on Gorman thanks to the AI Model.

Detroit Tigers vs. Los Angeles Angels

Friday, May 2, 2025 – 9:38 PM EDT at Angel Stadium

The AI Model likes Colt Keith to add .574 hits in tonight’s game. While his prop is at .5, the under is already up to +140 odds. That’s a super valuable play.

Colt Keith Might Get On Base…

Colt Keith has added a .091 ISO and wOBA of .289 against his last 54 lefties faced. The left-handed batter has only struck out 20.4% of the time, but he’s also walked 18.5% of the time against righties over the last month.

Keith could get on base, but it’s more likely he’ll get on base via the walk, not a base hit.

Meanwhile, he’ll take on Jose Soriano of the Angels. Soriano has limited lefties to a .119 ISO this season. He’s also held lefties to 62.5% of ground balls and only 5.4% of fly balls.

That said, Soriano has walked 14.1% of batters. Therefore, if you see Keith on base, it’s likely because he walked.

Let’s take Keith to add under .5 hits in tonight’s ball game.

Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants

Friday, May 2, 2025 – 10:15 PM EDT at Oracle Park

Our AI Model predicts Robbie Ray will record only 5.845 strikeouts. Yet, his strikeouts prop is up to 7.5 with the odds at +100. The under is clearly one of the best plays we’ll find using the AI Model today.

Robbie Ray Isn’t Locked In!

The Giants will send out left-hander Robbie Ray for tonight’s game. While he’s struck out 24.8% of batters this season, he’s also walked 13.5% of batters.

In addition, he’s allowed a .161 ISO and wOBA of .315, which are both below-average numbers.

He’ll take on a Rockies team that has been abysmal this year. However, Colorado’s lineup has only five batters with a high strikeout rate against lefties. Ray doesn’t have a ton of targets, and if he keeps falling behind hitters, even the Rockies will take advantage.

Colorado still has three batters with an ISO of at least .222 and a wOBA of .429 against lefties this season. Ray has been poor this year and was just as bad last year. His best days are likely behind him.

Grab Ray to go Under 7.5 Ks tonight.
