The Pirates are slight underdogs at most sportsbooks. However, the AI Model thinks the Pirates will add a 4.6-4.4 win over the Rangers at home tonight. There’s reason to back the Pirates at -108 in today’s ball game.
Can We Trust Kumar Rocker?
The Rangers are set to pitch young pitcher Kumar Rocker. However, the righty has allowed a .227 ISO and wOBA of .423 to his last 26 lefties and will face Oneil Cruz, Spencer Horwitz, and Adam Frazier in tonight’s game.
Cruz has been dominant against righties, but the other few lefties have potential tonight as well against Rocker. Rocker has been terrible against lefties all season.
Meanwhile, Mitch Keller will pitch for the Pirates. The righty isn’t adding a high rate of strikeouts, but he’s still held his last 124 batters to a .102 ISO and wOBA of .276. He’s instead added more than 60% of ground balls and has kept walks down to 4%.
Keller isn’t super flashy, but he’s pitching incredibly well right now.

The Cleveland Guardians are minor favorites on the road tonight. They’ll throw Luis L. Ortiz, who has allowed a .222 ISO and wOBA of .381 to his last 62 lefties. The AI Model thinks the Dodgers will earn a 5.6-3.2 win over the Nationals tonight. Forget the moneyline or even -1.5 for the Dodgers. Think about taking the Dodgers at -2.5 (+126).
The Dodgers Lefties Should Rake!
The Washington Nationals are set to pitch Jake Irvin tonight. The right-hander has been great against righties, but has allowed a .258 ISO and wOBA of .380 to his last 69 lefties.
Those lefties have struck out only 11.6% of the time over the last 30 days and have hit nearly 30% of line drives with 35.2% of fly balls. Batters like Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and Max Muncy should have a field day against Irvin.
On the other hand, Dustin May will pitch for the Dodgers. He hasn’t been perfect. However, he’ll battle a Washington lineup that has only hit a .137 ISO and wOBA of .306 with 6.2% of walks against righties over the last month.
Washington will put the ball in play, but it’ll likely be a lot of weak contact.
