Washington Nationals vs. San Francisco Giants
Monday, April 08, 2024 – 09:45 PM ET at Oracle Park
This game projects to be low-scoring. The Giants will give the ball to Blake Snell for his San Francisco debut. The former Cy Young winner will be ready to go!
Trevor Williams opened up his season with 5.1 innings against Pittsburgh. He allowed two runs on three hits and walked two batters in the win. Williams won’t earn a high amount of strikeouts, but he’s typically good at limiting walks. That usually helps with limiting damage when he does get hit well.
The Giants have only hit a .151 ISO and woBA of .317 with 23.5% of strikeouts against righties since last season with the projected lineup. Those aren’t eye-popping numbers.
On the flip side, Blake Snell will make his season debut. Snell won the NL Cy Young last year after earning 31.4% of strikeouts. He walked 13.3% but also held teams to a .105 ISO and wOBA of .269.
It’s unclear how deep he’ll go in his debut. But Snell should hold everything together for at least five innings. After all, the Nationals have hit a .127 ISO and wOBA of .284 against lefties dating back to last year with the projected lineup.
This lineup has also walked just 6.6% of the time. If Snell can attack these hitters and limit walks, he’ll pitch deeper into the game and excel.
Let’s back the Under 8 at -110 betting odds in this game. frSnell should pitch a gem when he’s on the mound, especially with the home crowd backing him.
