The Boston Celtics are doing whatever they can to put themselves in a position to win the Atlantic Division and the NBA Championship. Should you grab Boston to win the Atlantic Division this season?
NBA Atlantic Division Preview
The Boston Celtics are the clear favorite to win the Atlantic Division. While the 76ers sort out their issues with James Harden, this is the only team with a real chance at knocking off the Celtics in the Atlantic.
The New York Knicks would be the one team that could come close. They’ve made some strong additions and should at least compete for the division and earn a playoff spot. Meanwhile, the Nets and Raptors are more mysteries than anything else.
Let’s look at the NBA odds for each team’s win total for the 2023-’24 season.
Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics were involved in a blockbuster trade where they added Jrue Holiday to play point guard.
The Celtics already made some major moves previously, adding Kristaps Porzingis in a trade that involved Marcus Smart going to the Grizzlies. With that Smart deal and the addition of Jrue Holiday, Payton Pritchard will likely add some minutes in the rotation at guard. He just signed a multi-year extension with the club.
Meanwhile, Jaylen Brown signed the largest contract in NBA history to remain with Boston. He’ll team up with Jayson Tatum as the Celtics look to capitalize on their outstanding team this year.
I’ll grab the Over for the Celtics. They’re the best team in the NBA right now.

Philadelphia 76ers
The 76ers have to deal with more drama before the season begins. James Harden wants to be traded to the Clippers out of Philadelphia. However, the Clippers are the only ones bidding for Harden and won’t up the offer when Philadelphia requested more in return. Joel Embiid said Harden hasn’t been a distraction, but we know how this plays out.
Right now, the 76ers aren’t that special. Patrick Beverley and Kelly Oubre Jr. are the team’s best bench players.
Give me the Under for the 76ers.
NBA Pick: 76ers Under 49.5 Wins (-120) at Caesars Sportsbook
New York Knicks
The Knicks have a ton of depth. They’re going to be great this season. They just won’t reach the Boston level.
Jalen Brunson shined last year. However, R.J. Barrett and Julius Randle continue to give the Knicks inconsistent minutes. If those two players are more consistent, the Knicks can really do damage this year.
New York added Donte DiVincenzo for the bench and still has Immanuel Quickley and Josh Hart to add some depth to the team.
I like what the Knicks have to offer this year. Following our computers’ prediction, grab the Over.

Brooklyn Nets
Not too long ago, the Nets had Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Kevin Durant and were competing for a Championship. That changed quickly, but I still like the Nets. They’ve got a lot of potential this year.
Mikal Bridges is ready to step up as a premier player. Ben Simmons is also ready to perform at a high level again.
The Nets have scoring with Cam Thomas and Spencer Dinwiddie and some big defense with Nic Claxton and Royce O’Neale. They’re built well. Take the Over.
NBA Pick: Nets Over 37.5 Wins (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors could be sneaky this season too. They’ve added Dennis Schroder as a point guard and paired him with Scottie Barnes, OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam, and Jakob Poeltl.
There are plenty of worse starting gives out there this season. The bench even has Gary Trent Jr, who added 17 points a season ago. Let’s also not forget Gradey Dick, who was Toronto’s top draft pick this season out of Kansas.
Give me the Over for the Raptors too.

Atlantic Division Winner
I like what this division has to offer. It can be really competitive from top-to-bottom. However, the Celtics are just in a league of their own right now. Boston made some massive trades to get in position to win the NBA Championship. They smelled success a couple of years ago and now want it more than ever.
The Celtics don’t really have a whole lot of depth. If a player goes down, the Celtics might start to decline. But for now, they’ve got at least eight guys in the rotation that you can trust. That’s all they really need for now.
Back the Celtics to win the Atlantic Division this season at the online sportsbooks. Even at -280, there’s value. The Sixers aren’t a threat.
