NBA Computer Picks for November 29: Back the Blazers to Cover

After no games yesterday, we’re back with a monster slate for today’s NBA action. The NBA will be back with another full slate of NBA Cup matchups. Therefore, I asked the AI Model for its favorite three bets for the later portion of the slate. Here’s what it came up with, as always with the best NBA odds available.

And don’t forget to check out our YouTube channel for more betting advice. Today, our expert covered the Cavaliers vs. Hawks and Magic vs. Nets games!

Picks Summary

Boston Celtics vs. Chicago Bulls

Friday, November 29, 2024 – 08:00 PM ET at United Center

The AI Model believes the Bulls and Celtics will combine for 241 points. However, Caesars currently has a 243 number. That means the Under is the play in this one.

The Celtics Can Be Slowed Down

The Boston Celtics have one of the best offenses in the NBA. There are no questions here.

However, the Bulls should at least be able to limit the Celtics on the offensive glass. If the Celtics have an off night or the Bulls defend slightly better than usual, it’ll be hard for the Celtics to add second-chance points.

The Bulls have held teams to 25.6% of offensive rebounds. That’s an excellent rate. Especially when the Celtics only grab 25.8% of offensive rebounds themselves.

Chicago Doesn’t Do The Little Things

The Chicago Bulls have added a 56.6% effective field goal percentage, which ranks 4th in the NBA. They’re also not good on the offensive glass and won’t see the foul line much.

With Boston ranking inside the top ten in defensive points per 100 possessions and defensive effective field goal percentage, it’s hard to believe the Bulls will dominate offensively.

The Bulls won’t even see the foul line much.

Let’s take the Under with the AI Model.

NBA Pick: Under 243 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Lakers

Friday, November 29, 2024 – 10:00 PM ET at crypto.com Arena

Our AI Model likes the Thunder to escape the Lakers with a 117-114 win on the road. Yet, you can get the Thunder at -1.5 at Caesars right now.

Scoring Should Be Easy For Oklahoma City!

The Oklahoma City Thunder have scored 115.8 points per 100 possessions. The offense has also turned the ball over just 11.9% of the time and has shot a 54.4% effective field goal percentage.

They’ll battle a Lakers defense that has allowed 117.7 points per 100 possessions. Los Angeles is poor on the defensive glass and has allowed a 55.9% effective field goal percentage, which ranks 22nd in the NBA.

While Los Angeles should keep the Thunder from the foul line, that probably won’t be enough to limit the Thunder throughout the game.

Oklahoma City’s Elite Defense

The Thunder didn’t have Isaiah Hartenstein to begin the season. Yet, they were already a top defense. With Hartenstein in the lineup, the Thunder are clearly the best defense in the NBA.

This team has held opponents to 103.9 points per 100 possessions and allowed a 49.6% effective field goal percentage with 19.2% turnovers.

The Lakers will get their foul shots and might earn some offensive rebounds. But that won’t be enough to knock off the Thunder at home.

I’m with the AI Model. Take the Thunder at -1.5.

NBA Pick: Thunder -1.5 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook (check our Caesars Sportsbook Review)

Sacramento Kings vs. Portland Trail Blazers

Friday, November 29, 2024 – 10:00 PM ET at Moda Center

The AI Model likes Portland to lose, 115-110. However, the Blazers are +6.5 against the spread via Bet365. A five-point loss would be terrific in this spot.

Portland Won’t Allow Easy Buckets!

The Portland Trail Blazers have allowed 114.6 points per 100 possessions. While the Blazers will allow lots of foul shots and offensive rebounds, they will likely hold the Kings from the field.

After all, the Kings have shot a 55.2% effective field goal percentage, and the Blazers have held teams to a 54.1% effective field goal percentage.

In addition, opponents have turned the ball over 16.4% of the time against the Blazers. In this game, Portland could end up with a high rate of turnovers on defense.

Portland’s Finally Back Home

While the Portland Trail Blazers haven’t been great offensively, they’re finally home from a long road trip. That should already help the offense get back on track.

In addition, the Blazers have added 32.6% of offensive rebounds. If they can attack the glass and earn second chances, they’ll give themselves a chance to win this game against the Kings.

Ultimately, the Kings are slightly above average defensively and have still allowed a 54.9% effective field goal percentage.

Take the Blazers at +6.5.

NBA Pick: Blazers +6.5 (-110) at Bet365 (check our Bet365 Review)
