NBA Computer Picks for November 8: Look Out for an Upset in Oklahoma

The AI Model has taken in all the NBA data and has given us three best bets for tonight’s slate of games. I’m in agreement. Are you?

Picks Summary

  • Spurs-Knicks Over 223.5 (-110) at BetRivers
  • Thunder ML (+115) at Unibet
  • Blazers-Kings Over 220.5 (-110) at Unibet

San Antonio Spurs vs. New York Knicks

Wednesday, November 8, 2023 – 07:30 PM ET at Madison Square Garden

Our AI Model believes the Knicks will earn a 121-106 win over the Spurs. While the -9.5 against the spread sounds reasonable, the Over 223.5 appeals more to me.

I know the Knicks are one of the best defenses in the NBA. I also know that the Knicks have struggled offensively to begin the season. But teams who play the Spurs disregard all that. The Spurs can’t defend and run up and down the court a lot.

For example, the Spurs just lost to the Pacers, 152-111. San Antonio couldn’t defend the three and fouled at a very high rate.

The Knicks get to the foul line at an above-average rate too. They’re also extremely dominant on the offensive glass.

On top of that, the Spurs have allowed 119.8 points per 100 possessions and a 59.7% effective field goal percentage defensively. Both of those numbers are 29th in the NBA.

Meanwhile, the Knicks should limit second chances and are a better defense than the Spurs. But San Antonio is still shooting a 54.8% effective field goal percentage. They’ll still get quality looks from the floor. All they have to do is hit them.

I’m with the AI Model. Give me the Over.

NBA Pick: Over 223.5 (-110) at BetRivers (check our BetRivers Review)

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

Wednesday, November 8, 2023 – 08:00 PM ET at Paycom Center

Our AI Model believes Thunder will earn a 112-111 win over the Cavaliers tonight. However, the Cavaliers are minor underdogs, sitting at +115 betting odds. That’s a solid value play for the home team.

The Cavaliers have done well limiting turnovers. But the shooting has to improve if Cleveland wants to make a run at the playoffs this year. The Cavaliers are only 3-4 on the season. They’ve shot a 52.1% effective field goal percentage and have earned only 23.9% of offensive rebounds.

That won’t get the job done in the NBA. They’re led by Donovan Mitchell, who has added 32.5 points per game. But the rest of the team has either been inconsistent or injured to begin the year.

The Thunder need to improve on the defensive glass. But they’ve at least held teams to a 51.7% effective field goal percentage. Once Oklahoma City gets better on the defensive glass, they’ll be a solid defensive team.

On the other hand, the Thunder have shot a 57.3% effective field goal percentage. They’re also scoring 115.8 points per 100 possessions and getting to the foul line at a solid rate. The offensive rebounds are hard to come by. However, the Cavaliers have allowed 29.7% of offensive rebounds per game this season.

If Oklahoma City just does a little bit better on the glass, on both ends, the Thunder should escape Cleveland with a win at home.

NBA Pick: Thunder ML (+115) at Unibet

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Sacramento Kings

Wednesday, November 8, 2023 – 10:00 PM ET at Golden 1 Center

The AI Model suggests the Blazers and Kings will combine for 228 points. However, Unibet has the total sitting at 220.5. That’s a multiple-possession difference in the total.

The Sacramento Kings had an incredible year last season. This year, it’s been a little different. The Kings are just 2-4 and struggling to find answers.

The offense has scored 108.2 points per 100 possessions and has shot a 50.7% effective field goal percentage. Those are some of the worst numbers in the NBA right now. However, the Kings have limited turnovers to 13.1% and are about average on the offensive glass and at the free-throw line.

Meanwhile, Portland has struggled to defend, allowing opponents to shoot a 53.8% effective field goal percentage. The Blazers have also allowed 27.4% of offensive rebounds per game this season.

On the other hand, the Kings have allowed a 21.6 free throw rate, which is a bottom-five number in the NBA right now. They’ve also allowed teams to shoot a 56.6% effective field goal percentage but are good on the defensive glass.

While the Blazers are the worst offense in the NBA, the Kings could be that team to allow the Blazers to figure out its offense. The Kings have allowed 115.8 points per 100 possessions. That’s a bottom-ten rate in the NBA.

I think both teams start to have more success offensively tonight. Grab the Over.

NBA Pick: Over 220.5 (-110) at Unibet
