Despite the Bruins playing on the road, we believe they are far superior to Buffalo (a team we expected more of this season). The Bruins lost in overtime at home last time out to the Montreal Canadiens. It’s very rare we see this team losing two games back-to-back, especially both games against weaker opposition.
The Sabres are 7-7-1 this season which is respectable but have failed to win back-to-back games on home ice this season, having L/W/L/W/L/W/L/W/ in their previous 8 home games. If we go by this trend, a loss seems to be incoming against one of the top teams in the NHL this season.

Golden Knights Eye Up Road Win
Credit where it’s due, the Washington Capitals have been playing above par thus far this season, with a 7-4-2 record that has seen them sitting in 3rd in the Metropolitan Division, and only one win behind second place with 2 games in hand. That said, they face the reigning Stanley Cup champions tonight with a whole host of injuries and most of their wins came as favorites or in 50/50 games.
The Capitals rarely win as underdogs and they are priced up at +130 to win on home ice tonight. The Vegas Golden Knights are 5-1 in their previous six games and lost their previous road game 4-2 against the Anaheim Ducks as a -150 favorite.
The Pick
The Golden Knights rarely lose back-to-back games, and we don’t trust Washington to continue this strong form, especially with six injuries to the team including number one goaltending Darcy Kuemper being questionable for tonight’s game.
The Golden Knights are a good bet to win this matchup in regulation at +105, although we are not a fan of their moneyline odds at -140. Take the risk on the plus-money regulation win for Vegas tonight.
