Best NHL Parlays to Bet Today

Parlay #1 (+136) at BetOnline

Hurricanes ML (-158)

Carolina is a reliable parlay leg tonight because of how weak its opponent, St. Louis, is.

The Blues currently own the third-worst record. They have lost three games in a row, with all three losses coming by multiple goals. In addition to having the second-worst goal-scoring defense, their offensive talent is deficient.

This deficiency would exist even if key center Robert Thomas is able to go tonight – he did not practice yesterday. With 11 goals and 22 assists on the season, he is undoubtedly a good player, but his presence on the ice failed to prevent St. Louis from losing any of its last three games. His participation in tonight’s game would not stop a Carolina team that is automatic against bad or even mediocre competition.

Since the beginning of December, the Hurricanes have only lost to very good teams like Detroit that are several games above .500. They are a team that is playing well, having recently blown out the Stars and won four of their last five games. They can be counted on to take care of business against teams like St. Louis.

Red Wings +1.5 (-225)

While oddsmakers are repeatedly undervaluing the Red Wings, it feels like a gift to get a free goal with them because of how good this team is and how well it is currently playing.

The Red Wings are enjoying a four-game win streak that has them sitting 13 games above .500. When they were a worse version of themselves, six weeks ago, when they were barely hovering above .500, they went into a shootout in Boston and beat the Bruins in Detroit. Logically, one has to expect them, at worst, to stay within a goal tonight.

Parlay 2 (+178) at BetOnline

Stars ML (-117)

Dallas gets to face an Anaheim team that has lost nine games in a row. The Ducks’ main problem is that they cannot play defense. They have allowed the most goals thus far and are continuing to fail to limit the goal-scoring of their opponents. They have allowed at least five goals in each of their last five games.

It’s not like they’ve been facing elite offenses. Even Philadelphia’s 18th-ranked goal-scoring offense produced five goals against them.

Scoring goals will be easy for a Dallas team that has one of the better offenses. The Stars are especially reliable tonight because they are the only team in this game that can defend – they rank seventh in goal-scoring defense. Because scoring will be vastly easier for them than for Anaheim, expect them to build off their latest 3-1 win in Los Angeles. The fact that tonight’s game is their second in two days poses no problem for them – in their last second leg of a back-to-back, they beat the Capitals by three goals on January 7.

Maple Leafs +1.5 (-200)

Toronto is a great underdog because of how well it is currently playing. The Maple Leafs have won four games in a row. In their last game, they upset the Avalanche in Colorado.

They have fixed their previous power play woes and are getting more effective play from their stars, their role players, and their goaltenders. Thus, the entire team is demonstrating great form.

In addition to the players performing better, better players are returning from the injured list. Valuable defenseman Jake McCabe, for example, is back in action. A Toronto team that is clicking will have no problem with a Utah team that is currently struggling to handle subpar competition.

The Mammoth have a +1 goal-differential over the span of their last five games, even though all five of their latest opponents are sitting below or barely above .500. As oddsmakers continue to undervalue the Maple Leafs, it is a gift to get a free goal with a Toronto team that is now eight games above .500.

Tips for NHL Parlay Betting

Here are my NHL parlay betting tips:

  • Avoid overloading parlays with too many legs
  • Include a mix of favorites and value underdogs
  • Target games with clear matchup advantages
  • Look for correlated legs — e.g., goalie save props + under totals
  • Always compare parlay payouts across sportsbooks
