Best NHL Parlays to Bet Today
Parlay #1 (+163) at CaesarsÂ
Winnipeg will beat a Los Angeles team that is particularly vulnerable on defense without the departed Vladislav Gavrikov.
So far this season, the Kings have allowed nine goals in two games. The Jets have plenty of scoring talent and finishing efficiency to exploit Los Angeles’ weakness — look out, among others, for Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele.
In their season-opener, Connor accumulated three goals while Scheifele achieved three assists. With two-time Vezina winner Connor Hellebuyck stopping shots, Winnipeg will win.
I’d like to pair the Jets with the Blackhawks +1.5.
I get that you might feel resistant to this leg, but your hesitancy is misguided. The Blackhawks are improved this year and, accordingly, are being undervalued by oddsmakers.
They are a competitive team, taking Boston to overtime in Boston and staying within a goal of the defending champs in Florida. Their opponent today ranked 31st last year in expected goals against.
Against Montreal’s defense, they should be expected to score enough goals to win, so getting an extra goal feels nice.
Parlay #2 (+181) at Caesars
For my next parlay, I recommend the Canucks +1.5 as a way of fading Edmonton.
The Oilers are slow-starters: they lost their first two games in each of the last two seasons; this year, they lost to a Calgary team that was missing key players.
On the other side, the Canucks are already proving doubters wrong by beating, with a four-goal margin, the very Calgary team that defeated the Oilers.
In this leg, let’s go with Colorado over Dallas.
Yes, Dallas is a good team, but Colorado is even better. Metrics show that the Avs have an elite forward in Nathan MacKinnon, the best defenseman in Cale Makar, better depth with a suitable replacement for Nazem Kadri, and so much else going for them.
Tonight, the situation favors them decisively, as they seek revenge against Dallas after being ousted by the Stars in last postseason’s seven-game series.
Parlay of the Day
Parlay #3 (+198) at Caesars
My favorite parlay begins with the Toronto moneyline.
It is quite clear now that the Maple Leafs don’t miss Mitch Marner. They enjoy the health of Auston Matthews, who has already scored a goal and is primed to recapture his form of two years ago, where he amassed 107 points — he accumulated 78 points in limited action last season.
Moreover, Matias Maccelli is proving to be a solid add.
Overall, Toronto also has a great group of returning guys that is strong in front of the goal and unified, displaying good chemistry overall. The Maple Leafs exhibit the sort of unity that Montreal made use of to blow out Detroit in their season-opener — the Red Wings lost 5-1 at home to the Canadiens.
The Red Wings have a lot of exploitable holes that Toronto is primed to exploit.
Tampa Bay is simply stacked throughout its roster.
This team has depth, with effective forecheckers occupying its bottom six. Good forecheckers are super useful against a soft New Jersey defense that commits turnovers in vulnerable areas.
The Devils’ bottom six in general looked awful in their season-opening debacle, attesting to their lack of depth and general lack of talent. Tampa Bay also has superior top-end talent with reigning MVP finalist Nikita Kucherov, who amassed 121 points last year and already has two goals.
The Lightning also have plenty of defensive ability and production throughout their roster, as evident in their All-Star selections last year. Feel free to spice up this parlay with a Kucherov points player prop, if you are inclined to accept the additional mathematical risk.
