The NHL card might be small enough tonight with six games across the board, but we have found two picks that we like ahead of tonight’s NHL betting card.
Firstly we are eyeing up a nice plus-money NHL player prop when targeting one of Chicago’s top scorers to get back on the assist board. Elsewhere, the Vancouver Canucks look to continue their strong home form, having gone 5-2 in their previous seven.
Picks Summary
- Teuvo Teravainen Assists Over 0.5 (+180)
- Canucks ML (-120)

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Utah Hockey Club
Friday, March 7th, 2025 – 08:30 PM at United Center
Teuvo to Tear It up on Home Ice
Although the Chicago Blackhawks have had a bad season thus far going 19-35-8 and sitting second last in the Eastern Conference, it has been a success for the Blackhawks forward Teuvo Teravainen who has scored 49 points (the joint most on the team along with Connor Bedard).
The 30 year old began his career with Chicago in 2013, but only had 37 appearances in his first two season, following 78 games and 35 points in 2015/16, he was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes where he spent the next 8 seasons.
Upon his return to Chicago, Teuvo is on course for 65 points, which would be his joint second most in his career. Lest we forget to mention he has dominated on home ice having had 31 of his 49 points in the United Center.
The Pick
The Utah Hockey Club are not bad opposition, and will likely win this game if we are being honest, but we believe Teuvo will continue his scoring streak, having had at least one point in his previous six games.
Teuvo has had 1/1/2/2/0 assists in his previous five games and has had much more career assists than goals having had 170 regular-season goals and 338 assists including a 34-15 split in Favor of assists this season.
We like the +180 odds here for Teuvo to get back on the assist board this time around, if you wish to include the goal and play it safe we would suggest taking no less than +115 NHL betting odds for over 0.5 points.
NHL Pick: Teuvo Teravainen Assists Over 0.5 (+180) at Bet365
Vancouver Canucks vs. Minnesota Wild
Friday, March 07, 2025 – 10:00 PM ET at Rogers Arena
Canucks Have Been Strong on Home Ice
Not only have the Vancouver Canucks gone 5-2 in their last seven games on home ice, one of those two losses was after regulation. Most importantly for us, it’s who the Canucks have beaten at home in their previous few games, with victories over the Maple Leafs, Avalanche, Capitals and Oilers.
That’s five huge scalps to take at home, and in all honesty, it’s gotten them back into the playoff race, now sitting just 4 points behind the LA Kings for the final playoff position.
The Minnesota Wild have done the opposite to the Canucks, with Vancouver being relatively poor at home this season, things have only picked up in the previous few games. The same goes for Minnesota only on the road, except their start to the season was very strong, and only recently has their road form dipped.
Having gone 22-9-3 on the road this season, four of those nine losses came within the previous six games.
The Pick
Yes, we are looking to lay some juice here at -120 for the Vancouver Canucks to emerge victorious for the 5th time in 6 games at home and it was also marked six games unbeaten in regulation on home ice.
The Canucks are very hot on home ice right now, not only have they beaten strong teams lately, but their defense has been phenomenal, allowing only 6 goals in their previous 5 wins, an average of less than 1.5 goals per game.
The Canucks are also looking to break their 0-3 trend against the Wild and we believe tonight they can do so. We wouldn’t advise laying any more than -130 on this selection as the Wild are still a strong team and could easily claim another win over Vancouver.
NHL Pick: Canucks ML (-120) at Bet365
