MLB Pick
- Giants (-110) at Bet365 (check our Bet365 Review)
San Diego Padres vs. San Francisco Giants
Saturday, April 06, 2024 – 09:05 PM ET at Oracle Park
The AI Model predicts the Giants will add a 5-3 win over the Padres at home. Meanwhile, Bet365 has the Giants as just -110 favorites. The value is huge with the Giants tonight.
Padres’ King
The San Diego Padres traded away Juan Soto and landed Michael King in a package. King has a lot of potential, but he didn’t showcase it in his first start with the Padres. King allowed a .214 ISO and wOBA of .373. He gave up plenty of power to righties and allowed many base runners when facing lefties.
King only added 25% of ground balls and gave p 37.5% of line drives. When lefties made contact, he gave up only line drives. However, most lefties didn’t make contact after he walked 70% of left-handed batters in his first game.
Patience Pays
The Giants have six batters that hit a high ISO against righties dating back to last year in the projected lineup. The projected lineup also walked 10% of the time dating back to last season and will surely be instructed to be patient against King tonight.
Conversely, Keaton Winn will get the start for the Giants. He had a much better season debut for the Giants, earning 30% of strikeouts with only 5% of walks. He also added nearly 54% of grounders and allowed just 15.4% of line drives.
Winn struggled a little against righties in his first start. However, the righties in the Padres lineup have only hit a .151 ISO and wOBA of .327 against righties dating back to last season.
I’ll side with the Giants in this one.
