2025 3M Open

July 24 – July 27, 2025 at TPC Twin Cities

The 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities

  • The 3M Open this week will be the seventh renewal of an event that started the same year as the Rocket Classic, that we previewed three weeks ago.  The events are very similar, both low-scoring birdie-fests.
  • TPC Twin Cities is a Par 71, over 7431 yards, designed by Arnold Palmer and Tom Lehman and it hosted the Champions Tour event, the 3M Championship for many years prior.
  • There is little or no trouble off the tee, with wider than average fairways, although the plentiful water hazards feature on 15 of the 18 holes, and the bunkering is plentiful and to be respected.
  • Fast pure Bentgrass greens means there is no hiding place this week for below average putting.

Will Patrick burn the course and fish props profits

Recent weeks have seen Patrick Fishburn’s season beginning to catch fire, with an overdue first PGA Tour win looking on the horizon.

That overdue first win has proved elusive for Fishburn, as we need to go back to his time on the PGA Canadian Tour when he won the 2019 Canada Life Championship.

Last week should have been another solid effort by the thirty-two-year-old from Utah, but a disastrous final round dropped him down the leaderboard, bringing his last three starts as 14th 6th and 52nd.  Fishburn entered the last round in contention, so the fall to 52nd will have helped our price a little this week.

Now, Fishburn arrives at a track where he was 6th on debut last year, despite a poor opening round and the TPC Twin Cities plays into his core strengths, off the tee and on the greens with barely any trouble in between.

The current level of consistency from Fishburn makes him a lock for a top 20 prop this week, combined with at least one more, and a small stake bet on his outright price of (+6000) with Bet365.

Fishburn’s Picks

  • Patrick Fishburn to Finish Top 20 (+280)
  • Patrick Fishburn to Finish Top 10 (+575)
  • Patrick Fishburn to Win 3M Open (+6000)

Did Finau find with the putter last week in Ireland?

Tony Finau’s early play as he figured prominently on the leaderboard and stats suggested that last week over in Ireland at the Open Championship, the Utah player found improvement and potentially with the putter.

A chronic lack of confidence with the flatstick has held the thirty-five-year-old from Utah back for a couple of seasons now, with his world ranking now at #45 from a best of #9, meaning he needs a good run of form to make the Ryder Cup team in September.

There was a change of caddy last week with local looper Colin Byrne who carried Retief Goosen’s bag man for many years taking over, and possibly a new perspective may have helped given the encouragement in his game last week after a poor 2025 so far.

This week’s 3M Open could be the start of a big push from Finau if his game and confidence are on the rise, he has the most fantastic memories to draw on in what is a relatively new tournament on the PGA Tour, with the strongest plethora of form of any of this week’s golfers.  That form reveals that Finau was the champion here in 2022, 3rd in 2020 and 7th last year, while the other three renewals here have seen him never finish worse than 28th.

Like his Utah colleague and friend Patrick Fishburn, the props markets should prove profitable for readers this week, while adding the higher variance of an outright bet on Tony Finau with Bet365.

Finau’s Picks

  • Tony Finau to Finish Top 20 (+190)
  • Tony Finau to Finish Top 10 (+400)
  • Tony Finau to Win 3M Open (+3300)
