PGA Travelers Championship

Thursday, June 19, 2025 – 07:30 AM EDT at TPC River Highlands

At just above 6800 yards, TPC River Highlands is one of the shortest tests ever on the PGA Tour and a very quirky one indeed. Players’ long off the tee can usually still flourish on such a short track, and the test can practically be overcome by all types of players.

Still, strategy comes into play, which is no surprise given it’s a Pete Dye design, the man responsible for the esteemed TPC Sawgrass, which is the home of the sport’s fifth major, the Players Championship. Dye’s signature can be seen in the closing four holes, which bring high leverage risk/reward holes that can swing the Championship quickly on its head!

Why Tom Hoge is the Prop Value?

The computer suggests that Tom Hoge’s outright price of +10000 offers value when translated through the props markets.

Last year’s 3rd place finish here at TPC River Highlands was far and away his best effort in over a decade.

Hoge is a neat and tidy tee-to-green merchant who has become a Players Championship specialist at TPC Sawgrass. This year, he finished 3rd at the Players along with:

  • 8th at the Sentry.
  • 5th at the Valero Texas Open.
  • 7th at the recent Memorial Tournament.

With many players having endured four gruelling rounds at Oakmont in the US Open last week, Hoge missing the cut could be a blessing in disguise for our chances of cashing this week. He is a computer pick for the Top 10 and Top 20 place markets.

No Choice for Rickie

With the addition of Signature Events to the PGA Tour schedule, the schedule is effectively set for players—unless they can achieve a high enough FedEx ranking. That’s the golfing limbo Rickie Fowler currently finds himself in.

Beggars can’t be choosers, and the thirty-five-year-old finds himself in the unusual position of having made the limited field despite missing out on last week’s US Open. He’s also being forced to play at an event that he has only played on rare occasions over the last two decades. Still, from the seven times he has played here, Fowler has finished in the top 20 on four occasions.  Having seen the promise in his play, readers will know how frustrating Fowler has been for us all season, as his highest finish was his recent 7th at the Memorial Tournament.

Rickie Fowler hits the trends we are looking for in our props bets this week and our computer model suggests a strong play in the Top 20 market. The other market to seriously consider for Fowler’s chances this week is the first-round leader. So far this season on the PGA Tour, he has won this market on two occasions amongst a plethora of quick starts.

That consistency is one we can utilise for profit once again, so take both round one Top 20 and round one leader for Rickie Fowler at this week’s Travelers Championship.
