Tampa Bay Rays vs. Los Angeles Angels

The AI Model has the Tampa Bay Rays squeezing by the Los Angeles Angels to earn a 4-3 victory. That’s only seven runs. However, Bet365 is carrying an 8.5. The Under has plenty of value according to our model.
Zach Eflin will make another start for the Rays. This season, he’s allowed a .234 ISO and wOBA of .326 to 50 batters. However, he’s still keeping walks down and has earned 25% of strikeouts against lefties.
Eflin is scheduled to take on an Angels lineup that has only hit a .296 wOBA against righties since last year. The projected lineup has also struck out 29% of the time since last season and walked only 7.5% of the time. There’s not much consistency in the Angels lineup, despite a solid start this season. I’m not buying all the hype.
On the other hand, Tyler Anderson struggled a lot last season. He only struck out 18.9% of batters and allowed a .189 ISO and wOBA of .349 to 630 batters.
However, this season, Anderson allowed no runs in his first start and gave up a .042 ISO and wOBA of .205 in the process. Anderson still won’t earn high strikeouts, but if he can keep line drives down and ground balls up like last game, he’ll be well on his way to putting together a solid 2024 campaign.
He’ll take on a Rays lineup that has hit a little better than the Angels. However, the Rays still strike out 24% of the time against lefties with this projected lineup, using last year’s and this year’s stats.
That said, I’ll back the Under at -110 betting odds in this game. The AI Model is onto something!
