2025 RBC Canadian Open
June 5–8, 2025 at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley
The RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto
TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley, the North Course is a par 70 at just under 7500 yards so on the face of it a lengthy test. The track hosted last year’s Fortinet Cup Championship on the Canadian PGA Tour but this is the first time it has played host to the esteemed national open.
Rory McIlroy is the standalone favourite with Scottie Scheffler passing the week after winning last week’s Memorial Tournament with next week’s U.S. Open at Oakmont. Looming. The Northern Irishman often plays well or wins the week before a major championship, and he will be all out for a third RBC Canadian Open title in three years.
Can course experience work for Keefer?
This week is an interesting and historic one of the PGA Tour and Johnny Keefer is the only elite golfer with any course experience from last year’s Canadian Tour.
I say elite golfer because despite being on the Korn Ferry Tour, Keefer is #83rd in the world rankings and importantly, Data Golf which is a more contemporaneous ranking system because it includes LIV golfers, have him even higher at #76.
The twenty-four-year-old Baltimore born golfers’ rise through the rankings has been swift and he looks PGA Tour bound for 2026 after a 2025 season that sees him ranked #1 on the Korn Ferry Tour, including a win at the Veritex Bank Championship and two runner-up finishes.
For good measure last week on the Korn Ferry Tour saw Keefer finish in 12th so he arrives at a course that he finished 3rd at the Fortinet Cup Championship last September in good nick.
Many golfers will come straight off 36-hole Monday Qualifying for the U.S Open this week which means barely a look at the track before Thursday.
Winning the event on debut is a huge ask for Keefer but OddsTrader recommended sportsbook have a great range of player props to choose from for the rising talent who could steal a march on his opponents with his course experience.
At OddsTrader we recommend backing Johnny Keefer in two props markets and the outright as below.
Golf Pick: Johnny Keefer to Win the Canadian Open (+6600) at Bet365
Golf Pick: Johnny Keefer to Finish in Top 10 (+600) at Bet365
Golf Pick: Johnny Keefer to Finish in Top 20 (+350) at Bet365
Osprey Valley Open Clues
The TPC Osprey Valley has three tracks and whereas Keefer has actual form on the course there have also been several renewals of the Osprey Valley Open to look through for clues and even if not at the same course, those good vibes and endorphins can be huge for a high-pressure hand-to-eye co-ordination sport.
That unearths both Taylor Pendrith and Danny Walker as potential winners this week with both being in strong form all year but the big value on the computer surrounds John Pak in the place markets who really caught the eye at the Charles Schwab Challenge when finishing 28th despite a poor final round.
John Pak is a twenty-six-year-old from New Jersey who was expected to take the professional by the scruff of its neck, like his esteemed amateur peers who he shared success with in two Walker Cups but unlike PGA Tour winners, Davis Thompson, Akshay Bhatia and Austin Eckroat his progress has been slower.
That’s not to say that Pak has not shone on the feeder tours on occasion with a win in 2023 at the Saskatchewan Open on the Canadian Tour followed by a win last year on the Korn Ferry Tour at the Compliance Solutions Championship.
The OddsTrader computer has thrown out bets on John Pak for a top 10 and top 20 finish with our recommended sportsbook Bet365.
Golf Pick: John Pak to Finish Top 10 (+2800) at Bet365
Golf Pick: John Pak to Finish Top 20 (+1100) at Bet365
