Nashville SC vs. DC United
Saturday, July 01, 2023 – 08:30 PM EDT at GEODIS Park
Nashville SC
Nashville enters their 21st MLS season meeting this weekend behind ten wins, six draws, and a mere three losses. Those types of numbers are usually enough to top the Eastern Conference, but stubborn New England and Cincinnati aren’t giving up their 2nd and 1st positions in the table easily.
While Nashville’s quest for the Supporters’ Shield has taken a slight halt due to back-to-back away losses, they return to GEODIS Park on Saturday, where they’ve won 7 of 10 in 2023 thus far.
Sharpshooter Hany Mukhtar leads the goal-scoring charts with 13 to his name, and he’ll be a prime candidate to assist Nashville back into the win column.
DC United
By no means do we believe DC United will roll over in Texas this weekend. They’re on the brink of a playoff position in the Eastern Conference following a shock victory over table-toppers Cincinnati FC last time out.
However, when evaluating the bigger picture, they suffered defeat in 3 of their previous 5 games between the Cincy success and are not convincing enough to triumph over Nashville away from home.
MLS Prediction, Odds, & Trends
The MLS betting odds naturally favor Nashville’s excellent record on home turf, and we agree.
The home side has won 5 of their previous 8 MLS games and have lost a total of five games in the MLS all season.
Score Prediction: Nashville 3 – DC United 1
Supporting Trends
- Nashville is undefeated in 7 consecutive MLS home games.
- In 12 of their previous 10 MLS games, Nashville is unbeaten.
- Nashville has won 5 straight home wins in the MLS.
Soccer Pick: Nashville SC ML (-113) at Caesars Sportsbook
FC Dallas vs. Los Angeles FC
Saturday, July 01, 2023 – 08:30 PM EDT at Toyota Stadium
FC Dallas
Dallas welcomes Los Angeles FC to the Toyota Stadium this weekend. Still, a cold streak for the Texans put them in a problematic predicament when faced with a Western Conference side just below the summit but the joint on points for first place.
Nico Estevez and his Dallas squad have slumped in recent months, losing 4 of their last 5 MLS meetings. One of these losses involved a 3-0 dismantling at the hands of Austin, a level of opposition that’s lost 8 games this term and aren’t comparable to their California counterparts.
Los Angeles FC
Losing to Vancouver Whitecaps last time out saw LAFC go level with St. Louis at the top of the Western Conference. However, with a game in hand and a revenge spot ahead, one of the most dominating teams in the MLS will be eager to take last week’s misery out on their Texan foes.
The MLS Cup defending champions won back-to-back games before last week’s glitch in the system, and despite a slow start last time, we shouldn’t expect the same versus a lackluster Dallas squad.
MLS Prediction, Odds, & Trends
The MLS odds are showing plus money on LAFC in this bounce-back position. It’s a piece of moneyline value we cannot ignore, and with a Dallas squad that’s failed to score in their previous two fixtures, the MLS champions could be primed to collect three points alongside a clean sheet.
Score Prediction: FC Dallas 0 – Los Angeles FC 2
Supporting Trends
- LAFC are unbeaten in 6 of their previous 7 encounters with FC Dallas (MLS).
- LAFC have netted at least 1 goal in their 9 most recent clashes with FC Dallas.
- Dallas has won just 1 of their previous 7 MLS games.
Soccer Pick: Los Angeles FC ML +140 at Bet365
