Arsenal vs. Manchester United
Sunday, January 22 – 11:30 AM EST at Emirates Stadium
Arsenal
With a game in hand, five points clear of Manchester City at the summit of the Premier League table, the Gunners are enjoying an almost-perfect 2022/23 EPL campaign as they’ll welcome Manchester United to the Emirates this Sunday.
A win for Mikel Arteta’s squad wouldn’t be surprising, as they dominated their London rivals Tottenham away from home last time out. This win saw Arsenal move to 12 straight EPL games without defeat, marking 10 wins and two draws during this run.
When you scale the win-loss-draw record of Arsenal further, the Gunners have lost just one of their previous 18 domestic meetings – solidifying their position as a top contender this term.
However, Arteta’s squad was held to a goalless draw against Newcastle earlier this month. Can Ten Hag’s men do one better than the Magpies and leave the Emirates with three points?
Manchester United
The Red Devils entered Selhurst Park midweek riding a nine-game win streak. Although they were forced to settle for a point – thus snapping their impressive run – there’s no hiding from the fact Ten Hag is onto something here, and United could finally have a manager who maintains consistency.
Overall, United has lost just one of their last 12 EPL encounters – collecting eight wins and three draws during this stretch. Furthermore, they’ve suffered one defeat from their previous 20 games in all competitions and will fancy their chances of upsetting the league leaders on Sunday.
Betting Pick
Manchester United is the only team to have defeated Arsenal this season following a 3-1 victory at Old Trafford in the reverse fixture. Sunday’s home team has also won just one of their last four meetings with the Red Devils, as another upset could be on the cards.
The betting odds are too far apart to ignore, especially when Ten Hag and company could quickly emerge as the kryptonite of Arsenal this term by defeating them twice.
Take some wagering insurance in case of a tie result, but Manchester United draw no bet at close to 2/1 betting odds is a tremendous value.

Athletic Bilbao vs. Real Madrid
Sunday, January 22 – 03:00 PM EST at San Mames Barria
Athletic Bilbao
The Lions enter matchday 18 winless from three consecutive league encounters and desperately need three points to keep their hopes of Champions League qualification alive.
They squandered points in recent weeks, taking just eight points from a possible 18 in their last six La Liga clashes. There hasn’t been a shortage of goals for Ernesto Valverde’s men either, scoring six and conceding five during this time.
Returning to action following a 3-1 loss in the Basque Derby against Real Sociedad, Athletic Club will be hoping to emulate last season’s Copa del Rey success at San Mames when they overcame their weekend opponents 1-0 to eliminate them from the cup. That said, victory over Real isn’t common, as the La Liga champions have won four of their last six meetings with Sunday’s home side.
Real Madrid
Real Madrid hobbles into their weekend game at San Mames following a Supercopa de Espana final loss to Barcelona (3-1), as the La Liga’s defending champs couldn’t win their two games in the mini-tournament.
With a trip to the Basque region ahead, Carlo Ancelotti’s squad is in a must-win position because their rivals Barca top the standings with a nine-point gap.
The absence of Karim Benzema this term has undoubtedly damaged Madrid’s scoring chances, as the Frenchman’s health has caused him to miss seven of 16 La Liga meetings this season. However, he’ll enter Sunday’s game with three goals from his last two La Liga appearances and 11 goals from his previous 16.
Betting Pick
Bilbao is winless in three straight games, and as the La Liga title holders are desperate, this losing streak should extend to four. Los Blancos are excellently priced at +145, a price tag that isn’t always available and should be taken advantage of.
