We’ve got a potential sweep on our hands! The Dallas Mavericks have won the first three games of the Western Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers. They’ll look for a fourth consecutive win against the Timberwolves for an invite into the NBA Finals. That said, we checked in with the AI Model to see how Game 4 will play out.
According to our computer predictions, the Mavericks are expected to beat the Timberwolves 106-103 in Game 4 of this series. That would give the Mavericks a 4-0 sweep on the Timberwolves and push Dallas into the NBA Finals.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Dallas Mavericks
Tuesday, May 28, 2024 – 08:30 PM ET at American Airlines Center
Minnesota’s Finished!
The Minnesota Timberwolves had their best offensive performance against the Dallas Mavericks in Game 3 of the series. Yet, Minnesota still lost 116-107 after shooting a 55.9% effective field goal percentage.
While the offense was better, the defense was horrific. The Mavericks scored 128.9 points per 100 possessions and short a 66.2% effective field goal percentage. They also sent Dallas to the foul line religiously.
Even with nearly 16% of turnovers and only 21.2% of offensive rebounds allowed, the Timberwolves couldn’t escape Dallas with a win. The Timberwolves don’t stack up well against the Mavericks. Dallas is the team to beat in the NBA Finals if they face the Celtics.
Defense Wins Championship
Can someone remind the Timberwolves that defense wins championships? They only have the Defensive Player of the Year on their squad!
In all seriousness, the Timberwolves have struggled to string together good defensive performances against the Mavericks. Dallas has scored at least 114.9 points per 100 possessions in all three games.
But at home, the Mavericks were way better offensively. They got to the foul line at will while also shooting a 66.2% effective field goal percentage.
On the other hand, Minnesota didn’t see the foul line much and added 10% more offensive rebounds. The Timberwolves also turned the ball over about 4% of the time but still found a way to lose.
At this point, the Timberwolves are hopeless. They can’t compete against Dallas right now.
NBA Computer Pick
I’m sticking with the AI Model and backing the Mavericks at -145 NBA odds.
