OddsTrader is utilizing artificial intelligence to run simulations of every game to be played so that accurate predictions can be made. These are then compared to the betting odds, and you have a valuable pick.
Now, this is not foolproof. Bets can still be wrong. Still, you have better value here than pointing at a screen with your eyes closed, so if you’re tired of your heart losing you money, use logic. This takes the bias out of the equation, and we can make clear decisions without distractions.
Here are the top three computer picks for college basketball.

Miami Hurricanes vs. North Carolina Tar Heels
Monday, February 19, 2023 – 07:00 PM EST at Dean Smith Center
We’ve seen plenty of upsets in conference play. Purdue, Tennessee and Arizona all lost this weekend, and the Vols were at home. Anything can happen when you’re playing a conference opponent, and it can get even worse when the supposedly better team is on the road.
These are the reasons why the Tar Hells have been a favorite against ranked Miami. However, there is more to the equation than that.
North Carolina might have made it to the national championship last year, but they are far from that team that used to be ranked best in the country. In fact, they are currently on the bubble. A win against Miami would certainly help them secure a spot in the tournament, but will that happen?
The Pick
Since the Tarheels are playing at home, they are favored. Still, Miami is the better team. The AI sees the Hurricanes losing a close game, and I agree.
I think North Carolina is talented enough to win this game at home, but I don’t see them blowing out Miami. Either the Hurricanes win or lose at the end. Either way, they cover the spread.

Texas Longhorns vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders
Monday, February 13, 2023 – 09:00 PM EST at United Supermarkets Arena
The Red Raiders and Longhorns will match up on Monday, and Texas Tech is one of the few teams in the Big 12 that is not seen as an NCAA Tournament team right now. That could change with a win, but Texas is expected to win a close game.
In fact, the AI has the Longhorns winning by 3, and the spread is at 3.5. Because of that, I don’t want to touch the spread one way or another. It is so close to the model that one or two plays could swing it.
The Pick
Still, I like the over. Both teams have average defenses, and the Longhorns have a great offense. As long as Texas Tech keeps up, the over should hit. Since they play at home, I think they’ll do just that.
The Red Raiders have been abysmal in conference play, but they should at least get 70 on the board at home against the Longhorns.

West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Baylor Bears
Monday, February 13, 2023 – 09:00 PM EST at Ferrell Center
West Virginia has worked its way off of the bubble, and they are a few big wins away from cementing a spot in the NCAA Tournament. That could happen against Baylor.
The Mountaineers may be 4-8 in conference play, but they are turning things up with recent wins against solid teams. This will easily be the biggest win of the season if they can pull it off.
The Pick
I don’t see West Virginia winning, but I see them keeping it close enough to cover the spread. This team has improved on offense over the course of the season, and they’ve also proven in recent games that they can compete against top-level competition.
The only thing scaring me is West Virginia’s poor performances on the road. However, I think they will be prepared to battle against the Bears, who just had a close road win over TCU where they struggled.
