Joe Ryan Isn’t Pitching Well
The Minnesota righty, Joe Ryan, has allowed a .351 ISO and wOBA of .346 to his last 60 lefties. He’s also given up 37.5% of fly balls and has induced just 28.4% of ground balls over the previous month to both sides of the plate.
He’ll take on a Mariners lineup with four lefties that have combined to hit a .170 ISO and woBA of .307. Ryan will struggle against some of this Seattle lineup with those numbers.
Luis Castillo Should At Least Be Better
Luis Castillo is another household name who hasn’t pitched extraordinarily well. He’s also struggled against lefties but will face a Twins offense that rarely walks. In addition, the bottom portion of the Minnesota order has really struggled to hit for power.
Those batters are what we call rally killers.
