USC Trojans vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

This is an enormous game for USC as they are undefeated, ranked No. 10 in the nation, and own one of the most prolific offenses in the nation. However, the Trojans’ defense is rather offensive, to put it mildly, which is why this 6-0 squad has not yet taken a seat at the CFP table.
Furthermore, USC is the narrow underdog to the 5-2 Irish because, although the Trojans are undefeated, they have woefully underperformed in their last three games battling underwhelming opponents Arizona State, Colorado, and last week, Arizona, in which they escaped with a 43-41 overtime victory as 21½ point home chalk.
But now that we have the negatives out of the way, why do we believe the Trojans can cover as small road dogs and pull the mild upset by defeating Notre Dame outright?
Well, the Irish offense is not nearly as good as the stats would lead you to believe. They scored all their points against cupcakes earlier in the season but when faced with legitimate competition, Notre Dame has averaged 18.3 points per game over their last three contests.
They can’t win a shootout against USC and although the Irish will get their fair share of points, they will come up short in the end.

Kansas Jayhawks vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys

Kansas snapped a nine-game losing streak against Oklahoma State last season when they claimed a 37-16 victory as three-point home favorites. But this week, the Cowboys will be able to exact their revenge after securing a 29-21 win over Kansas State last week.
The venue will give the Cowboys a boost, as the fans are rabid in Stillwater, Oklahoma. We should also point to a significant pattern concerning their opponents from Kansas. The Jayhawks have alternated ATS wins and losses since the season began and if the pattern holds true, we will see Kansas fail to cover the number after doing so last week in their 51-22 win as 1½ point underdogs over UCF.
