Our computers project the Wizards to hang tight with Toronto, and I agree. You should invest in Washington to cover the spread.
Toronto Is Favored
Toronto is a must-fade team as the favorite. This is because the team does not know how to win games. After its last win, Toronto lost its following game – at home to New Orleans – by 41 points.
Coming off a freak win, the Raptors are primed to fall back down to Earth.
There is no way that a win in their last game can offer any promise. Especially, given how severely the team has struggled.
Before last game, Toronto had lost 15 games in a row, with multiple losses coming by over 30 or 40 points.
Toronto’s Bad Defense
The Raptors don’t have the defense to limit opponents’ scoring. They lack effective rim protectors, lengthy wings, and good defenders in general.
It is too easy for opponents especially to score at the basket, where Toronto allows the third-highest field goal percentage.
NBA Computer Pick
The Wizards’ offense is in a good spot today because the rim is the place where it most wants to score.
Washington capably reaches 120 points against stronger defenses, like that of the Lakers, so scoring 130 points is no problem.
Washington’s offense will make it unrealistic for Toronto, which scores 109 points per game at home, to cover the spread.
