Game 4 Celtics-Heat Best NBA Player Props: Will Jayson Tatum Push Boston Past Miami?

NBA Prop Pick: Jayson Tatum Over 2.5 Threes (-175) at Bet365

Picks Summary

  • Caleb Martin Over 11.5 Points (-129)
  • Kyle Lowry Over 3.5 Assists (-140)
  • Jayson Tatum Over 2.5 Threes (-175)

NBA fans want more basketball before June 1. Can the Boston Celtics make things a little more interesting in the Eastern Conference Finals tonight? Here are three player props to consider for Game 4 against the Miami Heat.

Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat

Tuesday, May 23, 2023 – 08:30 PM EDT at Kaseya Center

Caleb Martin Is Heating Up

Caleb Martin has averaged 19.3 points per game in the Eastern Conference Finals. He’s hit his prop in three consecutive games while hitting at least three threes in each game too. Martin’s attempted 12.7 shots off the bench for the Heat in this series, and he’s now earning over 30 minutes a game with Miami.

Martin averaged under 10 points per game in the regular season, but he’s come up big for the Heat in the playoffs and has been incredibly off the bench, especially when the Celtics have struggled to get consistent production from any of their players recently.

Martin has shot over 63% from the field and 47.6% from downtown. He’s also helping out on the glass and earned four assists in Game 4. As long as he’s filling up the box score, he’ll play those 30 minutes. And he’s not afraid of taking shots and making plays in the spotlight.

The Pick

I’ll take a shot on Martin to get Over 11.5 points tonight. Again, he’s averaged 19.3 points per game this series.

Kyle Lowry Impressive Off the Bench

Lowry saw 28 minutes in Game 3 after only 17 minutes in Game 2. He’s still averaging 24.3 minutes per game, but we can expect him to see about 28 minutes in tonight’s game too.

In Game 2, Kyle Lowry struggled from the field, shooting 0-for-5. So, he was replaced by guys who were shooting better. But in Game 3, he went 3-for-6 from the field and added five rebounds and four assists with seven points.

He’s not going to be a primary scorer for the Heat anymore, but if he adds his veteran presence, stays out of foul trouble, and fills up the box score, he’ll stay out on the court. He’s one of the few older players on the roster. He’s helping shape up all the young guys for the playoffs.

He’s also added at least four assists in 69% of games this season. He’s even hit this line in eight of his last ten games. If he’s going to get nearly 30 minutes a game, Lowry to get four assists is very reasonable.

The Pick

I’ll back Kyle Lowry to earn us at least four assists tonight.

Jayson Tatum Will Play Better in Game 4

Nobody is playing more inconsistently than Jayson Tatum. When he’s on, he’s unstoppable. We saw a 51-point outburst from Tatum. We’ve also seen some games where he’s ultimately out of sync. Tatum has still shot 45.5% from the field in this series, but he’s only hit 25% from downtown in this series.

He went 1-for-7 from downtown in Game 3 and earned just 14 points on six made field goals. However, now that the Celtics are down 3-0 in their series against the Heat, you can expect Tatum to play the entire game to try and salvage the series.

Tatum has hit at least three threes in 61% of games this year. He’s also hit this line in 65% of his last 20 and has nailed this line in six of his last ten. Tatum is consistent enough from downtown because he takes so many attempts.

Tatum has averaged nearly seven attempts from downtown per game. Against the 76ers in his last series, he averaged more than eight threes per game and drained three per game. That’s more like Tatum, and that’s the Tatum I expect to see tonight in a win-or-go-home scenario.

A classic 50-piece out of Tatum, when everyone doubts him, is precisely what I expect to happen tonight. He’ll be aggressive when he needs to be and take threes when he’s open. He’ll get at least three threes tonight if he’s selective and intelligent.

The Pick

I’m taking Tatum to get Over 2.5 threes.
